I'm from Chinese decent so yesterday, we celebrated Chinese New Years with my family ^_^

So I hope you guys enjoy this special chapter~

"Okaa-San, can we go to the festival for Chinese New Years?" Ryosuke asked.

Sakuno smiled, "Sure, where did you hear about Chinese New Years?"
"At school, they were talking about it."
"Waa!" Sakuno clapped her hands together, "Did you make anything to celebrate it?"
Ryosuke smiled, "Yeah, we made dragons and dumplings."

"Oh my! I want to see." Sakuno said.

Ryosuke rummaged through his backpack. "Huh?" Ryosuke said confused.

Ryosuke turned his backpack upside down and emptied his whole backpack of all the stuff in it. He looked sad. "I don't want to show it to you Okaa-San."
Sakuno looked at Ryosuke startled. "Eh? Why not Ryosuke?" She asked.

Ryosuke put his stuff back in his backpack, "I don't want to show you cause it doesn't look good."
"I'll be the judge of that." Sakuno said with a smile.

Ryosuke looked at his mother with a frown his face, "I have homework, I'm going to do it."
"Eh?" Sakuno said confused as she watched her sun go to his room.

"Mama, mama, where's Onii-Chan?" Aoi asked.

"He went into his room to do his homework." Sakuno said still confused.

"What's wrong mama?" Aoi asked.

Sakuno smiled, "Nothing, Onii-Chan was just acting weird and mama was a little worried."
Aoi smiled, "Aoi is going to go and talk to Onii-Chan!"
Sakuno smiled. "Okay."
Aoi headed to her brother's room and opened the door. "Onii-Chan, what are you doing?" Aoi asked peeping her head in.

"Nothing." Ryosuke said.

"Eh? Mama said that something was wrong. Aoi was worried!"
Ryosuke looked at his little sister. "You promise not to tell Okaa-San?"
"Hai~ Aoi promises!"

Ryosuke sighed. "I drew a picture of a dragon and I put it in my backpack but I was going to show Okaa-San but I can't find it."
"Then why don't you draw a new one Onii-Chan?" Aoi asked tilting her head to the side.

Ryosuke smacked his forehead. "You're so smart Aoi!"

Aoi smacked her forehead too. Ryosuke smiled and hugged his sister. "You want to help me?" Ryosuke asked.

Aoi smiled. "Hai!"

Ryosuke took out a sheet of paper and colored pencils and markers. "Let's make it look awesome!"
"Hai!" Aoi said with a big smile on her face.

And together, the siblings redrew the drawing that Ryosuke had made in class.

Ryoma opened his son's door. "What are you two doing?" Ryoma asked his children.

Ryosuke covered the paper. Aoi looked at her father and got up and jumped into his arms. "Papa, papa, papa, guess what we were doing?" Aoi asked happily.

Ryoma lifted Aoi up. "What were you guys doing?"

"We were drawing-"
"Aoi shh! It's a surprise!" Ryosuke said putting his finger to his lips.

Aoi gasped and covered her mouth with both her small hands. "Aoi can't tell you!"

"Eh? Why not?" Ryoma asked.

"Onii-Chan said it was a secret!" Aoi said.

"Oh?" Ryoma asked.

"Hai!" Aoi said.

Ryoma started tickling her, "I want to know!"

Aoi started laughing. "Aoi won't tell!"

Ryoma pursed his lips and set his daughter down. "Well I hope I'll get to see it soon." Ryoma said, "I'm going to say hi to Okaa-San."
"Hai~" Aoi said.

Ryoma shut the door behind him and Aoi hurried back to her older brother. "Did Aoi do a good job with keeping a secret?"

Ryosuke patted his sister's head. "Hai, you did a good job."
Aoi smiled, "Aoi is so happy!"

Ryosuke's stomach started to growl. "Are you hungry Onii-Chan?"

Ryosuke smiled. "Let's go get something to snack on."

Aoi jumped up and down, "Hai~!"

Ryosuke held his sister's hand as they headed to the kitchen. "Oto-San, Okaa-San we're hungry." Ryosuke announced.

Sakuno and Ryoma were hugging. They turned to see their children. Sakuno let out a squeal at the cuteness she just witness. "Wait there! Let me get my phone!" Sakuno said hurrying to get her phone.

"Ah, I have my phone on me." Ryoma said as he took out his phone and took a picture of his children.

"Eh?" Sakuno asked hurrying back.

"Mama, Aoi is hungry!" Aoi piped

Sakuno crouched down, "What would you like to eat Aoi?" Sakuno asked.

"Mmm…whatever Onii-Chan wants to eat!" Aoi said happily.

Sakuno smiled, "Hai~, Ryosuke what would you like to eat?"

"Dumplings."
Sakuno smiled and came up with a great idea. "Let's go get it at the festival!" Sakuno said.

"YAY!" Ryosuke and Aoi both chimed in.

Ryosuke smiled, "Now we can show them what we were working on."

Aoi smiled. "Hai~!"
Ryosuke and Aoi headed his room and grabbed the drawing and hurried back. "Okaa-San, Oto-San close your eyes!" Ryosuke said.

Ryoma and Sakuno covered their eyes. Ryosuke held one side while Aoi held the other so that both their parents could see. "You can open your eyes now!" Aoi said.

They opened their eyes and smiled. "Woah! Did the two of you make this?" Sakuno asked.

They nodded their heads. Ryosuke started blushing, "I made a drawing at school but I couldn't find it."

Sakuno patted her head, "So you made a new one instead?" Sakuno asked.

Ryosuke nodded his head. "Wah~! That was so clever of you." Sakuno said happily.

Ryosuke shook his head. "Aoi was the one who thought of doing that."
"Really?" Sakuno asked turning to Aoi.

Aoi nodded her head. "Hai~! Aoi thought it up all by herself!"
"I'm proud of you." Ryoma said patting his daughter's head.

"Yay!" Aoi said happily, "Aoi is so happy!"
"Well let's put the picture up on the wall?" Sakuno asked.

"Okay!" Ryosuke said.

Sakuno smiled and taped it to the wall. "Now let's go to the festival?" Sakuno suggested.

"Yeah!" Aoi said happily jumping up and down.

At The Shrine

"Wa! Look at all the pretty lights!" Aoi said as her eyes sparkled.

Ryoma put his daughter on his shoulders. "Can you see them better?"
"Hai!" Aoi said happily.

Sakuno held onto Ryosuke's hand. Ryosuke blushed cause he didn't see any of the other little boys holding their mom's hands. "Okaa-San, you're embarrassing me." Ryosuke said.

Sakuno tilted her head. "I am?" Sakuno asked.

"You're holding my hand! I'm a big boy, I can take care of myself."
Sakuno looked sad but smiled nonetheless, "I see, okay."

Sakuno let go of her son's hand. Ryosuke smiled and walked around feeling like an adult. Sakuno looked at his back and tears started to well up. "What's wrong?" Ryoma asked.

Sakuno wiped her tears, "He's growing up so fast."

Ryoma wrapped his arm around his wife's waist, "It's okay, if you want, we can always make another child."
Sakuno giggled, "Maybe."

"Let's just enjoy ourselves right now and talk about that, when we're alone."

Sakuno wrapped her arm around her husband, "Okay."
So the three of them walked around enjoying themselves. During this time, Ryosuke was up ahead enjoying himself. "Wah! This is so cool!" Ryosuke said, "Don't you think so Okaa-San?" Ryosuke asked turning to find his mother nowhere in sight.

"Oto-San?" Ryosuke called to find him gone as well.

"Aoi?" Ryosuke called but alas, she was not here either.

All the faces he saw were those of strangers. Ryosuke looked frantically. He didn't like the loneliness he felt. He suddenly started crying. "Okaa-San, Oto-San where are you?" Ryosuke cried.

And if the gods were watching him his mother appeared in front of him concerned and frantic. "What's wrong Ryosuke?" Sakuno asked.

Ryosuke quickly wiped his tears. "Nothing."
Sakuno pouted. "You know you can tell Okaa-San or Oto-San if anything is bothering you right?"
Ryosuke looked at his mother's smiling face and hugged her. "I was so scared…I didn't see any of you." Ryosuke said.

Sakuno patted his head. "But Oto-San and your Okaa-San knew where you were." Sakuno said, "So don't worry, you just need to call us and then we'll come to the rescue."

Ryosuke smiled, "Arigato…Okaa-San."

Sakuno smiled and kissed her son's forehead, "Okaa-San gets lonely too. That's why Okaa-San likes holding your hand."
Ryosuke looked at the ground embarrassed. "Really?" Ryosuke asked.

Sakuno nodded her head, "When Okaa-San holds your hand or Oto-San's hand or Aoi's hand, Okaa-San feels suuuuper duper happy!"

Ryosuke blushed and stuck out his hand to his mother. "Then I guess I don't mind holding your hand." Ryosuke said looking away.

Sakuno smiled and held her son's hand. "Hai~!"

"Dumplings, dumplings, dumplings~!" Aoi sang from up on Ryoma's shoulders.

"Hai, hai, let's get dumplings." Ryoma said smirking down at his wife and son, "Are you guys ready to go?"
Sakuno stood up and held his hand, "Hai!"

And together, the Echizen family headed to the vendor who sold dumplings.
