Chapter 27: Girls' Day Out

FLASHBACK

"Sakuno-Chan~, it's so hot!" Tomoka whined.

Sakuno couldn't help but laugh at her best friend sprawled out on the cool wooden floor. "What do you want me to do about it?" Sakuno asked putting different things in the blender to make a fruity concoction. "Let's go out!" Tomoka said.

Sakuno chuckled and shook her head as she turned on the blender. "Where do you want to go? It's too hot to be outside."

Tomoka sat up and smiled. Sakuno looked at her confused. She handed her one of the drinks she had made. "Why are you making that face?"
"You know that new indoor water park that just opened for the summer?" Tomoka asked.

Sakuno nodded her head. "You want to go there? It's probably crowded…and you know how I feel about really crowded places especially wearing that swimsuit you got me."
Sakuno couldn't help but fidget around blushing. "Mou! We just graduated high school! Let's do something fun!"
Sakuno sighed. "I won't be able to talk you out of this will I?"
Tomoka laughed. Sakuno rolled her eyes, "Let me get ready."
"No, I'm going to pick out your clothes!" Tomoka said racing to her room.

"Mou! Tomo-Chan!" Sakuno screamed chasing after her.

Tomoka reappeared before Sakuno could go into her bedroom. "Your clothes won't do! You'll still look like a high schooler! We have to get you some more sophisticated looking clothes!"

"We just graduated!" Sakuno said, "Besides I like my clothes! And besides the clothes these days that some girls are wearing are too revealing."
Sakuno was bright red, "I would never wear something like that, it's too much!"
"I bet Ryoma-Kun would like to see you in those clothes though." Tomoka whispered into her ear.

If possible Sakuno got even redder which caused Tomoka to laugh. "Come on, I'm not going to pick out something that is too revealing and if you don't like what I pick, we can always look for something else."
Sakuno sighed. "But I still have to wear that bathing suit you got me don't I?"

Tomoka smiled. "But of course!"

Sakuno rolled her eyes. "I knew it."
Tomoka grabbed Sakuno's arm and led her to the door, "Let's go shopping!"

Shopping Center

"Neh Echizen, what are we looking for?" Momoshiro asked as they looked through all the glasses with jewelry.
"Something for Ryuzaki."
"Oh Echizen –nyan is getting something for Sakuno-Chan!" Kikumaru said happily.

"You're growing up so fast." Oishi said.

"Shut up and help me look Sempais."
"Hai~!" His three upper classmen said.

Oishi, Kikumaru, and Momoshiro had graduated along with the rest of the original tennis team but every now and then they would meet up all together for matches or just to hang out. "So are you really going to go America now?" Momoshiro asked.

Ryoma nodded his head as he scanned the cases, "I want Ryuzaki to come with me, but I know that's going to be hard…so I wanted to give her something…before I leave. Of course I'm coming back, but I don't know when."
Kikumaru frowned, "She's going to be alone. And I'm not trying to make your jealous or anything but Sakuno-Chan is a very pretty girl and I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of guys try to court her."

"Kikumaru!" Oishi snapped.

Kikumaru shrugged. "I'm just telling him the truth! I don't want him to leave without the different outcomes that could be expected when he's away."
"Sakuno-San wouldn't do that." Oishi said.

"I know she won't but it can't be helped if other guys to try to hit on her." Kikumaru said.

"He has a point Echizen." Momoshiro said, "I've seen the way some guys looked at her during high school, now that she's older and more grown…there are going to be more guys after her."
"Shut up." Ryoma said looking away balling his hands into fist, "You don't think I've noticed the way some guys look?"

Ryoma's Sempais looked at one another feeling bad for their kohai. "It's okay, everything is going to work out." Oishi said patting him in the shoulder.

"And what happens if she finds someone that can give her what I can't?" Ryoma asked.

Momoshiro blinked his eyes. Ryoma was rubbing his neck this was so not like the Ryoma Echizen he knew. "Is this what happens when you're in love?"
"Shut up, I'm just saying…Ryuzaki is perfect…"
Kikumaru whistled, "Echizen is soooo in love."
"Shut up!"
"Hey is that Sakuno-Chan?" Momoshiro asked.

"Where?" Kikumaru asked.

"Next to Tomoka."

"…It can't be…OH MY GOD!"
"Woah…"
Ryoma went to the window and his eyes widened.

Sakuno was wearing high waist jean shorts and a fitted maroon crop top that crossed in the front and a tribal patterned sweater that was black and white. She was wearing a golden long necklace and a pair of aviators. Her hair was swept to one side and her hair fell into natural long curls. "Look at the guys stare." Kikumaru said.

Ryoma looked around to see the guys around Sakuno staring. Ryoma cursed and went outside. "I'll be back." Ryoma said.

With Sakuno and Tomoka

"Are you sure this isn't too revealing? Everyone is staring." Sakuno said fidgeting.

"Self-confidence! And besides the reason why that they're staring at you is because you look so pretty." Tomoka reassure her.

Sakuno smiled, "I think you look much prettier, you always dress like a super model."
Tomoka laughed and hugged her best friend. "Let's go eat some food."
Sakuno nodded her head. "Okay."
They walked together through the shopping center for a place to eat. Sakuno let out a squeal when she felt something grab her waist. Tomoka turned around and her eyes widened. "Um…I'll text you in a bit Sakuno…ja!" Tomoka said and raced off.

"Tomo-Chan!" Sakuno said scared.

She turned around and gasped to see Ryoma with his arms wrapped around her. "R-r-r-r-ry-Ryoma-Kun! What are you doing here?" Sakuno asked her heart already racing.

"I could ask the same for you…and dressed like that."
Sakuno blushed and brought her sweater closer. "Tomo-Chan insisted on going shopping…and I thought it was cute…" Sakuno said looking down, "Gomeni…"
Ryoma ran his fingers through his hair, "You don't need to apologize…you look beautiful…it's just…look around."

Sakuno looked around to see guys staring at her hungrily. "They're looking at you that way and it makes me anger."
"Gomeni." Sakuno whispered.

Ryoma shook his head and wrapped his arms tighter around her waist. "I don't want anyone seeing you like this…I want you all to myself."
Sakuno blushed. "Hai."
Ryoma ran his fingers through his hair. "Let's go get something to eat, I'm starving."
Sakuno nodded her head and smile. "Okay."
Ryoma grabbed her hand and they walked off to find somewhere to eat. Momoshiro whistled, "That escalated quickly."

"Uh huh." Kikumaru said.

Oishi couldn't help but chuckle.

Café Latte

"Are you sure you want to eat here? It looks really expensive." Sakuno said looking at all the delicious food on the menu.

Ryoma nodded his head as he scanned the menu. "It's fine, get whatever you want."
Sakuno smiled and nodded her head. "Okay."
The waitress came to the table and smiled. "What can I start you guys off with?"
"Your sparkling cider." Sakuno said.

"Hai, and what would you like sir?"
"Water."
"Okay, I'll be right back then."
Sakuno giggled and Ryoma looked at her confused. "What are you laughing at?"
"You ordered water, I was expecting you to get Ponta."
Ryoma leaned back and rolled his eyes. "I don't always get Ponta."
This made Sakuno smile widened. "Yes you do, ever date that we've been on you've ordered Ponta or gotten Ponta except for today."
Ryoma rolled his eyes. "I guess I wanted something different today."
Sakuno smiled. "I guess so."
Ryoma couldn't help but stare at Sakuno and admire how beautiful she looked. She didn't even need to wear makeup, her face radiated with beauty. "Where you going to do something later today?" Ryoma asked.

Sakuno thought about it. "Oh Tomo-Chan was saying something about going to that new indoor water park that just opened, but I don't know because it might be crowded."
Ryoma nodded his head. "I was just wondering if you wanted to come swim at my place, it's not going to be crowded, all the Sempais are going to come and a few others. If you'd like you can invite her as well."
Sakuno smiled. "That would be nice, I'll ask her later. Should I bring anything?"
Ryoma rubbed his neck. "Maybe your desserts…those are always good."
Sakuno blushed and smiled. "Okay."

The waitress came back with their drinks, "Are you ready to order?"
"Yes." Ryoma said looking at Sakuno to see her nodding her head.

END OF FLASHBACK

"Your Okaa-San looked so hot that day, your Oto-San got jealous of every guy that looked at her." Tomoka told Aoi.

"Really?" Aoi asked her eyes sparkling.
"Yep, and your Oto-San is super duper jealous of other guys when your Okaa-San is around."
Aoi squealed. Sakuno rolled her eyes. "If you keep telling my daughter these things she's going to tell her Oto-San and he's going to come after you."

Tomoka laughed. "Nah, I don't think so."
Sakuno looked at her in disbelief, "Don't you remember what happened at my bachelorette party?"
"What's a bachelorette party?" Aoi asked.

"It's a party that you have for a woman before she gets married." Sakuno said.

"Ohh! Was it fun Okaa-San?"
Sakuno looked at Tomoka who was cracking up. "No, though your Auntie Tomoka had a blast."
"Did you have a lot of games?" Aoi asked.

Sakuno looked at Tomoka. "Ummm…there's ice cream!" Tomoka said pointing at the store.
Aoi with her pureness squealed and pulled Sakuno to the ice cream stand. Sakuno and Tomoka looked at each other and laughed. "I love you Tomo-Chan, I wouldn't trade you for any other best friend." Sakuno said.

Tomoka smiled. "Same goes for me Sakuno-Chan."
