The days are starting to blur for me. Only the calendar I'm using to keep track tells me it's only been two days since I started keeping a calendar. I woke up once again in the tendrils of the Overlord, curled up with a tendril covering me almost like a blanket. I sat up and stretched.

"Good morning Overlord"

I receive a burst of warmth over the link in response, along with that almost elephant like noise it makes with its mouth. I've no idea if its actually communicating or simply responding like an animal would. I'd like to think it's the former, but for the sake of my sanity, I'll act like it's the latter.

Sitting up with a stretch, I look out over the Hive. We're drifting at the same height and position as usual. No mobs are around, but for a few spiders, which'll be gone soon. Spiders don't move nearly as much when passive so they get swallowed up by the Creep fairly quickly. I wonder what a Zerg spider would be like? I'll have to check that out sometime, once I get a Cerebrate available.

Now it's on to the daily base expansion. I wonder for a moment what I should do. There's a few things I could do to further evolve my Hive Cluster, but at the same time, 500 mana a day, really isn't that much. I really need more income. I know I don't want to wreck the environment, and I still don't. However, from this vantage point, the Hive almost looks like a speck, and yet I still can't see the edges of the forest, except for those mountains to the west, and I'm starting to think they're a lot larger than I gave them credit for, considering I still can't easily discern where exactly the base of the mountain actually is.

So all things considered, with a forest this size, would it really be the end of the world if I added four, or maybe even nine more Hatcheries? Heck, I could probably lay down a hundred and it still wouldn't make a sizable dent in this forest. Even so though, nine of them should suit me alright. The trick though would have to be making sure they aren't destroyed before nightfall. Best way to pull that off would be to make them normally with a Drone, since the Hatchery would be done in two hours then.

If I'm going to pull that off though, I better start now. The sooner I get more Hatcheries and Creep, the sooner I'll be able to fully upgrade my Hive Cluster and get a Cerebrate. Then once I have a Cerebrate, I'll be able to take a more direct approach in altering the Swarm, making it more eco friendly so that other races won't automatically respond with, 'Run away! It's the Zerg!'

With that goal firmly in mind, I ordered up a new Drone. Ten minutes later, I followed the Drone closely to a spot directly north of the Hive. I figure it's as good a spot as any, and direct it to a spot that looks like the edge of the Creep from the Hive Cluster and this Hatchery will just barely overlap for maximum Creep coverage. After having it clear away enough trees for space, I then ordered it to morph into a Hatchery.

With a hundred Bio Energy left over, I contemplated creating an Overlord or some Drones, or maybe even a couple Zerglings. In the end though, I decided to hold off and save it for a later time. After all, with the size of my Hive dramatically increasing, I may just need that hundred bio energy tonight in case of an emergency.

That decided, I spent the next two hours keeping a close eye on my newly growing Hatchery. If a line of Creepers suddenly shows up, I'm going to have the Drone cancel the morph, hope the Drone survives the cancellation, then send it back to the Hive Cluster to think up a better idea.

Fortunately, two hours passed with nothing happening. I sighed in relief when the Hatchery burst out of its cocoon. Watching the Creep overtake another patch of forest wasn't pleasant, but I'm hoping it'll be worth it later.

That finished, I once again had nothing to do but wait, so I had my Overlord take me on a tour of the area, just relaxing and watching the wind blow through the trees. Normally I'd go for something more mentally stimulating, but there's something to be said about having a front row seat from 500 feet up while being swayed two and fro while leaning forward over a tendril, while another one gently rubs your hair and back. Since it can see my reactions and thoughts directly, there's no hiding any weak spots either. How am I supposed to not be a pile of mush right now? It's impossible! It certainly doesn't help either that I was already sensitive to touch before I even became the Overmind. Some people call it being tactile. Others call it kinesthetic. Regardless of what you call it, all I know is any touch that's not meant to be painful usually feels good to me. Add that to a massage given by something that can suss out all your weak spots within seconds, and you get one very happy and somehow not literally melting into a puddle Overmind.
