A/N: So here I am with another chapter to I'm Buying. Totally unexpected. I'm surprised I can still find inspiration to write as I had the biggest case of that dreaded writer's block. Maybe I'm back to write again. Maybe I'm not. We'll see. Enjoy!
He was in love.
Horus could now admit that he was in love with one Carter Kane, his fiancé. At first it had been purely attraction that caught Horus' eye when his Father showed him a picture of his fiancé. But it wasn't for another few years later that he would actually meet Carter, and that was something Carter didn't know.
Horus found out at the age of 13 that he was engaged to someone. At first he had hated it. He had rebelled, yelling at his parents that they couldn't control him and tell him what to do. Then at the age of 15, about three days after he had sex for the first time with one of his female classmates, his mother and father sat him down to talk about the dreaded marriage situation again.
This time they came with a picture. Horus had stared for a good five minutes at it before he was willing to hear his parents out. Carter would become his wife beside him. He was the son of Osiris' good friend Julius Kane, the leading anthropologist on Ancient Egyptian history. Which explained why Horus has never met them, as they were never in town.
For a few months, Horus kept it to himself, except of course his family knew. They all knew. From Osiris' legal business to his Uncle's not legal business. Family protected family, and Carter Kane would need protection.
From 15 to the day he met Carter, Horus had adopted the playboy persona. He was in the news, in the clubs, with different men or women practically every night. He hid from society is school standing, his relationship status, and his true personality. It was the only way Horus could come up with to protect Carter until they met. Horus had enemies in high and low places thanks to his family's business, and refuses to see Carter be hurt because of him.
Horus also hid, even from his family, his curious inquires on Carter's life. An old, but very dear friend of his, Thoth who also happened to be another cousin, happened to be one of Dr. Julius Kane's graduate students turned collaborator. Thoth would send him updates and sometimes a few pictures that had Carter smiling and truly happy in them.
That smile was what drew him in even further. Then came the actions Thoth wrote about. Carter was known to be very caring, but fierce when messed with. He was also very eager to learn anything and everything. He'd try anything out at least once.
But what was it that had Horus falling in love with his fiancé?
"Horus! Are you ready to go yet?" Carter poked his head into Horus' office, surprised to see the man staring out the window in peaceful manner. "Horus?"
"Hm?"
Carter walked in with a frown. He came around the large desk and sat on Horus' lap. "What's going on in that head of yours?"
Horus' arms went around the smaller body's waist, holding Carter close and dear.
"Everything and anything, but always you," was the honest answer.
Blushing, Carter pouted. "Don't be so charming!"
"I thought you liked it when I was charming?" Horus chuckled, kissing Carter's cheek. "I'm fine. Promise."
Carter nodded, accepting that answer for now. He couldn't force it out of Horus even if he wanted too. Standing up he held out his hand to Horus. "C'mon you lazy man, we have to go shopping for Anubis' birthday remember?"
Horus looked down at the hand that he remembered holding for the first time. That warm, calloused from working in the deserts hand who had made his heart skip a beat during that first dinner date and made him feel so thrown off his game. He'd been worried that Carter hated him only from what he allowed on the news, but so smug happy to finally be holding the hand of his fiancé. Horus had gained hope and confidence the longer Carter wouldn't push him away and only hissed to let go. And when Carter just held his hand automatically? Pure heaven!
That's right, Horus fell in love with Carter after holding his hand for the first time.
"Horus?"
The business tycoon snapped out of it.
"Sorry. Let's go."
Horus grabbed Carter's hand and together they left his office, but before they left the penthouse, Horus pulled Carter in for a deep kiss that left Carter breathless.
"W-What was t-that for?"
Horus held a familiar wallet up with a smirk.
"Hey! When did you-" Carter patted his back pocket down, when he turned his glare on Horus. "Give it back."
"No way. I'm buying."
A/N: If anyone has anything in particular they want to see appear in I'm Buying let me know in review! Maybe that will help getting more chapters up?
