I don't own Austin and Ally
Ally's POV
August 24th (Three months later)
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLA!", we all yelled. I can't believe my little girl's already six years old! It feels like just yesterday that I was picking up a three month old baby on mine and my brother's doorstep.
"Mommy, are you okay?", Ella asked me, probably seeing the tears building up in my eyes.
"I'm fine sweetie", I assured her. She didn't look convinced.
"Are you sure? You're already six months pregnant. Could it be the babies?", Ella asked worriedly.
"Honey, I'm not due for another three months; don't worry. I promise there's nothing wrong", I said hugging her. Suddenly Austin ran over to us, picking Ella up and spinning her around making her squeal loudly. I smiled and quickly snapped a picture before he could put her back down.
"Happy birthday Sunshine!", he exclaimed.
"Thanks Daddy! I'm really a big girl now!", Ella exclaimed happily.
"Hmm, then I guess that means you deserve a really big girl present then right?", Austin asked teasingly. Ella's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree and she was nodding enthusiastically.
"Yes Daddy, because it wouldn't make sense to give the big girl present to anyone but me since I'm the big girl here", she said pointing to herself. I smiled widely. It's times like these when I'm just so happy to see Ella's childish side considering she's so mature for her age.
"Well, I guess we shouldn't let this big girl present go to waste. Now are you sure you're a big girl now? I want to make sure this very special present is put in very good big girl hands", Austin said trying not to laugh.
"I promise I'm a big girl Daddy. You don't have to worry about me. Who saved the rings at your wedding when it was the adults' job in the first place?", Ella asked pointedly. Austin chuckled.
"I guess I can't argue with that, can I Als?", he asked winking at me. I just laughed and shook my head.
"I don't think you can. She does seem to be a very big girl now", I said still laughing.
"Thanks Mommy", Ella said smiling. She then turned to Austin with an awaiting, impatient look, while giving him the puppy dog eyes he can never resist. "Daddy…."
"Yes Sunshine?", Austin asked smiling.
"Can I pwease have my pwesent now?", she asked in a baby voice. I just started laughing, and I know for a fact that Austin is going to crack in about three…two…one…
"Okay, okay, fine!"
"Yay!", Ella cheered as Austin set her down and reached for a small box in his back pocket. For the record, I'm very excited to see what Austin got her. Even though we're married now, he wouldn't tell me what it was! He said that he wanted it to be a total surprise and that it was a very special surprise for Ella, so I didn't push it too much.
Third Person POV
Austin shakily grabbed the slightly long, skinny box out of his back pocket. It was wrapped in yellow paper with a pink bow on top. Ella was already happy about the present, just seeing the wrapping and knowing that her Daddy paid attention to such small details as her two most favorite colors in the world.
"Alright Sunshine, here you go. I really hope you like this", Austin said handing the box to his daughter who meant the world to him. Ella smiled.
"Daddy, I would love this even if it was just the paper. It came from you and I love you! Stop worrying", she told him. Ally could vaguely see Austin trying to discretely wipe his glossy eyes. That just melted her heart; along with her baby girl's beautiful words to the man she loved most in the world. How could their lives get any better?
"Thanks Sunshine and I love you too. Now come on, open your present before you turn seven!", Austin urged jokingly.
"I am Daddy; hold your horses!", Ella said laughing as she delicately began to open the box. She was taking quite a while trying not to rip a single part of the paper. It took a good five minutes, the whole while Austin had to restrain himself from grabbing the box and ripping the paper open himself, when Ella had finally gotten the paper off. "Here Mommy, I want this to go in one of your scrapbooks to remember"
"Okay baby, I think we can do that", Ally laughed as she took the paper from her daughter.
"Sunshine…", Austin whined. Ella smiled and rolled her eyes as she carefully opened the box itself. Considering her Daddy had told her it was a big girl present, she didn't want to do a single thing that might make whatever was inside break on accident. When Ella opened the box she gasped at what she saw. Austin shut his eyes tightly awaiting her response.
"Daddy, this is the prettiest necklace I've ever seen!", she exclaimed throwing her tiny arms around his neck as he kneeled before her. The necklace may have been just a small charm, but it meant the world to her. It was a small, charm sunshine, with an engraving that said 'Daddy will always love you Sunshine'.
"I was hoping you'd say that", he said smiling.
"Will you help me put it on? I don't ever want to take this off!", Ella said excitedly.
"Of course Sunshine", he said taking the necklace and clasping it around his little girl's neck. It was one of those necklaces that adjusted so it would fit any size neck and she would never get too big to wear it. "There you go beautiful. I love you"
"I love you too; thanks Daddy!", Ella exclaimed hugging him once more. "Toby! Look at what my Daddy got me!"
"And just like that she's off somewhere else", Austin smiled shaking his head. Ally laughed and wrapped her arms around his waist from behind.
"She's excited about your gift Austin. You know she loves you"
"I know, and that gives me more time to be with my other favorite girl", he said pulling Ally in for a sweet kiss.
"And I get to be with my favorite guy", she replied resting her head on his chest.
"Mommy, Daddy! Toby got me a car!", Ella yelled running over to the pair with her best friend holding a small matchbox car.
"That's very nice. Ella, what do you say to Toby?", Ally asked her little girl pointedly.
"Mrs. Ally, she already told me thank you", Toby said. Ally smiled.
"Good job Ella, I raised you right. And Toby, you don't have to call me 'Mrs. Ally'", Ally said.
"My Mama told me to call all adults Mr. and Mrs. What am I supposed to call you?", Toby asked.
"You can call me anything you want"
"Bud, you just call me by my first name. Well Ally's my wife so what does that tell you?", Austin pointed out.
"Um…that you're old?", Toby said with a toothy grin.
"Ooh, you're gonna get it now", Ella said in a sing-song voice.
"You're right about that Sunshine. Come here you!", Austin yelled chasing after Toby. Ella and Ally laughed at the scene in front of them.
"Mommy, I think Daddy wants to have a boy. He really looks like he wants a son to play with", Ella said as she watched Austin throw Toby over his shoulder.
"Well what do you want?", Ally asked.
"I don't know. I'd love to have a sister to do girl things with, but my best friend's a boy so I know they're fun too. I know I'll love either, but I know Daddy wants a boy. He'd be sad to have to deal with another girl", Ella said.
"I'd be happy to have either", Austin said from behind them as he set Toby down. "I like having guy time with boys and I absolutely adore my girls"
"But you want a boy; admit it!", Ella demanded. Austin just laughed and picked her up, kissing her little face all over.
"It doesn't matter to me what we have as long as they're both healthy, there's two of them, and I still have my little Sunshine", he said starting to tickle her again.
"Thanks Daddy. This is the best birthday ever!", Ella exclaimed. Everyone smiled and just played around with the whole family for the rest of the happy day.
November 6th (About three months later)
Austin's POV
"When will they ever be born?", Ella whined. She's been doing this nonstop ever since her birthday.
"When they are", Ally said in a frustrated tone from where she laid on the couch. Ella was laying in the loveseat upside, kind of hanging upside down and I was setting down their food yet again.
"Mommy, you know that's not an answer. Daddy, Mommy used that dumb answer parents use when they don't know something, don't care, or just don't want to answer their kids", Ella complained. I smiled a little. Ella's just like me when it comes to hating those types of answers. They never made any sense and were annoying as crap in my opinion. I don't see why people can't just say 'I don't know' or something.
"I know Sunshine, Mommy needs to work on her answers", I said. Ally stuck her tongue out at me.
"Mommy's eight and a half months pregnant with twins who won't be still, so Mommy couldn't give a crap", Ally said fake-smiling.
"Mommy, please quit talking in third person; it's annoying", Ella whined.
"How do you know what that means?", Ally asked.
"It's just like when Porter talks about the 'masked hero' to Maddie even though he knows it's been him the whole time", Ella said. My eyes grew wide at her statement. Wait, WHAT!?
"Sunshine, what are you talking about?", I asked confused.
"Oops, you weren't really supposed to hear that yet. Might as well go on ahead and tell you though since you don't hate Porter anymore", Ella started.
"Get to the point Ella", Ally sighed.
"Porter's the guy who saved me and Maddie that day in the park and we're using that to get him and Maddie together", Ella said.
"What…how…why? When did you figure all this out?", I asked still very confused.
"The day Aunt Trish went missing", she said. What!? That was months ago!
"And why is it that I'm just now finding out about this?", I asked crossing my arms over my chest and looking pointedly between my wife and daughter.
"You didn't ask", Ella said smiling innocently. Oh how I just love that excuse. "Plus you, Uncle Dez, and Grandpa still didn't like Porter back then."
"Well yeah, but you still should've told me", I said mainly to Ally.
"Hey, don't look at me. Your daughter's the one that said it was best not to tell you guys", Ally said shrugging. I turned to Ella who just smiled at me. Goodness, I can't stay mad at her! This just isn't fair.
"Mommy, Grandma, Aunt Claire, and Kelsey all agree", Ella said.
"Whoa, whoa, hold up. Grandma, Aunt Claire, and Kelsey know this too!?", I asked. Ella nodded.
"Aunt Trish and Alyssa both agreed too, but we had to tell them after we all got back home since neither of them were there for our girl meeting", Ella explained.
"Girl meeting? When was this?", I asked.
"You guys really like football", Ally said from the couch as her short way of explanation. I can tell her patience is running thin. I mean she seems to be a bit paler than usual and her breathing is getting heavier. That sometimes happens when she gets overwhelmed or something, so I guess that's it.
"So you guys have known all of this for like six whole months?", I asked. Ella nodded.
"I told you I could keep a secret", she said smiling at me.
"Why am I always the last one to find this kind of stuff out?", I asked annoyed.
"Oh my goodness", Ally said sitting straight up.
"I know, it's not fair right", I asked looking over to Ally who was now trembling while holding her stomach.
"That's not it", she said shutting her eyes tightly. Ella looked over to me with fear shining in her beautiful little brown eyes, and we both rushed over to her side worriedly.
"What's wrong?", I asked immediately.
"Austin, get the car", Ally said gulping. "It's time."
And…another cliffy. Well kind of. But hey, at least I updated right? Sorry it's took so long, but I'm finally on Christmas break and that means no more tests to study for! I'm telling you, exam week was a killer, but I'm so glad it's over and I can spend more time on here. Btw, I still have the same username, but now the first D in my name is capitalized in case you got confused. :)
