Dangerous connection

"Hello?" Tsugaru called through the thick mist. Glancing around him he could see nothing. "Is anyone there?" Slight panic overtook him remembering that he had been exposed to toxic air. Did that mean he was dead? Was this what was left? A glint of silver caught his eye a dark shadow vanished. Holding out his hand the angel pinched himself hard. "Ow." It hurt. Was he really dead?

Again another shadow appeared within the mist. Looking down he could see some sort of liquid on the ground seeping into the bottom of his clothes. Blood. The crimson flow continued on further on into the unknown. "This way?" Stepping to the side Tsugaru grimaced smacking into something invisible. The only path was to follow the flowing blood.

Taking a step forward the angel braced himself for pain that didn't come, instead the mist seemed to clear opening the way for him. Folding his arms Tsugaru walked through stepping as far away from the blood as possible. It wasn't long before he saw another shadow in the corner of his eye. "Hello?"

"Hello?" Another voice echoed back. Tsugaru jumped trying to remain perfectly calm.

"Who's there?" Better yet where was he?

"Who's there?" The echo was getting closer.

"Show yourself!" Demon, angel or human they had probably heard the rumours and would be after him.

"Hehe, I didn't expect this. You haven't changed at all have you?" Tsugaru flinched feeling something brush against the back of his neck. "So, do you know where we are?"

A flash of white and magenta filled his eyes. "...Delic?" The fallen angel smiled and winked. "Am I in the human realm?" It was good to see his brother again.

"It doesn't feel like it. I was following a blood trail." Tsugaru nodded. It looked like wherever they were there was a set path for them to follow. "What are you doing out of heaven? I thought you'd still be acting as a goody two shoes archangel." Delic's words hurt more than he though they would.

"...You were right. I might not really be here. I think I died..."

"What? Why do you say tha-" Delic cut himself off, both of them hearing another voice. "Do you hear that?"

"Hello? Roppi-kun? Shitsuo-nii?" Blue and pink clashed as they stared at each other recognizing the voice. Sure enough the mist cleared and there on the floor hugging his knees a mere few feet away was the youngest Heiwajima.

"Tsuki?" Shocked crimson orbs flicked up looking at both of them. Why? The youngest angel was supposed to be at home. Next to him Delic grinned striding on ahead. Although they were family it was no secret that the fallen angel had an agenda.

"...Delic-nii? Tsugaru-nii?" Tsugaru smiled warmly opening his arms. "Wah! Everyone disappeared. Where am I?" His little brother cried clinging to both of them. "Where's Roppi-kun?" Roppi? Who was that?

"I thought I recognized that cry. Does anyone know what's going on? I was in my bed." Shitsuo's confused voice came from another clearing. They were all coming together...Then that meant... Sure enough a loud crash sounded in the distance. "Looks like Shizuo is here too." Tsugaru nodded not meeting his twin's eyes. There was some things he couldn't talk about. "Delic. Its good to see you."

The fallen angel smirked shoving his hands in his pockets. "Is that so? Yet you couldn't come and visit. Another thing, why do you all look so happy to see each other. Tsuki's still his crybaby self, Tsugaru thinks he's dead and you Shitsuo look like there's a spark in your eyes. Just what did I miss,hm?"

Tsugaru sighed as they stared at him. "T-Tsugaru-nii, you're not dead right?" Wide crimson gazed up at him filling him with guilt.

"C-come on, we should find Shizuo and our mother. I think we've all been taken to the same place." Until he knew the truth himself there was no point in upsetting his family. Delic scoffed walking ahead. Glancing at his hand Tsugaru couldn't get his power to activate.

"Delic-nii, wait up." It wasn't a surprise that the youngest wanted to spend time with their estranged brother. Shitsuo didn't move catching his sleeve. Delic was right his twin no longer looked empty.

"You're not dead. I would have felt it. He would have said something. Tsuki's power awakened. It's teleportation." Tsugaru closed his eyes pinching the bridge of his nose. Of all powers his little brother could have had, why that one? "He was back home..." His twin shook his head walking slowly beside him. "I know... you took my place. I'm not heaven's doll any more, I can only be controlled by one person."

"Good. I don't know what happened to me. They found I was fake. I tried escaping but the air corrupted me, I lost everything..." So then what had happened?

"Yet here you are. I think I might know who called us here. We need to find our mother." Shitsuo smiled taking his hand. " Sakuraya-sama is a fox and one of Shizuo's new brothers...He's my master." A demon. His twin's master was a demon. Things couldn't get much worse. "Our mother went through the same portal." Their family was truly scattered and yet here they were being brought together again.

In front of them they could hear a happy laugh, Tsuki clinging to Shizuo who was staring at them in shock. Who had the power to break through the barrier and connect them all like this? "H-how are you all here? I was with that damn flea." Tsugaru shrugged not knowing the answer. The mist around them had receded. There was only one left and then they would all be together again. "Delic?"

Tsugaru felt uneasy watching Delic's reaction to seeing Shizuo again. The fallen angel pushed Tsuki out of the way throwing his arms around his shoulders. It wasn't right to suspect him of anything. It didn't look like Delic would be letting go of him any time soon. "Tsugaru, the reason for Delic becoming a fallen angel..." Shitsuo was watching the same scene and had come to the same conclusion.

"Tsugaru-nii, what's that?" Tsuki rushed up to him pointing to the right where all of the mist had now vanished. Tsugaru stared at the temple getting a bad feeling turning around the mist had swallowed their way back closing them in so they could only go forward.

"Stay behind us." Shitsuo called standing by his side. As the oldest they held responsibility for looking after the younger ones. Five chunky blocked steps led them to four thick white pillars. "Be careful." The pillars were cracked looking like they would collapse at any point. The blood that he had been followed seemed to flow up the stairs and into the temple. Inside it was just as damaged the carvings on the wall were cracked or missing the floor was dust beneath his feet.

The place was a wreck. Looking up he could see a large hole that only seemed to get bigger. Taking another step forward Tsugaru stopped watching the flow of blood thicken travelling along large silver chains that seemed to pass through the floor and ceiling. "Tsugaru, doesn't that remind you of something?"

"Mama!" Tsuki cried running forward regardless of their shouts. The youngest ran through the chains that looked like a dna helix towards two throne like chairs one black and the other white. The white chair was empty, the black chair occupied. Seeing the red eyes he knew the figure wasn't their mother.

Too late Tsuki had run up to the woman whose hair had turned from blonde to black, crimson orbs gleamed the silver sword across her lap shone with an eerie red glow. "TSUKI!" Shizuo yelled rushing forward fist clenched. That was when he noticed the flow of blood had changed splitting as it had done to lead them to each other.

"Mama?" Tsuki blinked in confusion. "You aren't-" The woman took one hand from the sword resting it on his brother's cheek. Next to him Shitsuo had frozen.

"Saika. You're Saika." Shitsuo's voice shook. Saika? The woman looked up at them and smiled. Tsugaru swallowed taking a step back the blood trail following.

"The controller... or the controlled...which would you rather be?" Tsuki's eyes slipped shut falling into the woman's embrace. Glancing down the crimson flow turned to a hardened silver. Chains. Delic was trying to yank his off, Shitsuo stood with fear radiating from his trembling form. Shizuo was on his knees clutching his head and Tsuki was in the demon's grasp. Biting his lips Tsugaru strode forward ignoring the thing latched around his ankle. His younger brothers were in danger and he was failing to protect them.

The walls around them shook the pillars behind them came crashing down. Above them what was left of the roof quivered. "Out of time." Tsugaru blinked seeing something in the white chair flicker. The woman Shitsuo had called Saika stood up holding out the sword. A red flash sparked at the end of the blade covering the collapsing temple.

Tsugaru bolted upright screaming at the top of his lungs. Reaching atop of his head the angel threw his halo across the room before it burnt him alive. "Good morning, Tsu-chan. Did you have a bad dream?" A familiar looking demon sat at the end of his bed long rabbit ears twitching.

"You!" It was the demon from before. "What am I doing here? Where am I? I thought I was dying?" He was in a large bed staring around at an empty room the walls a dark black. The furniture looked like a knife had been taken to it or claws.

"It's not you. My name is Psyche Orihara, remember? I'm not allowed in the human realm so I had to bring you home. This is Roppi's room, it's the only one that has oxygen." Home? Did that mean he was back where he had retrieved Shizuo's seal? "I haven't told mama you're here yet so try to be really quiet." The demon smiled hopping from the bed to pick up his halo.

"Why did you throw this?" Tsugaru flinched as it was held out to him. Hesitantly his fingers brushed the edge. That wasn't a normal dream. Something had been done to them, his beautiful gold halo now glowed with an eerie crimson light. "It's yours right? Angels without their halos become fallen."

"Y-yeah." With a sigh he lay back against the pillow knowing the same thing had happened to all of them. "Thank you for saving me." Psyche grinned bouncing on the heels of his feet.

"No problem, no one lays a hand on my Tsu-chan." Tsugaru blinked but said nothing. For now he was trapped in the Orihara home without a way out.

Delic groaned rolling over on his side. On his pillow was a crimson halo. Laughing at the dream the fallen angel placed it on top of his head. The demon Saika or whoever she was had allowed him to see his beloved brother. She alone had connected them together. Shizuo had looked well, no better than that...If only he had been able to use his power.

Something had happened to his family, something interesting. It looked like his brother really was in Ikebukuro. Licking his lips Delic's fingers went to his arousal groaning as he stroked himself happy at merely touching Shizuo again. He didn't know what Saika wanted but if she could bring them together like that again then the demon was welcome to what she wanted.

It wouldn't be long now until Shizuo was in his grasp. Firstly though he had to get that pesky cat demon out of the way, before anything happened. "Ah, Shizuo. I can't wait to see you again." This time he wouldn't let him get away.

"Shizu-chan!" Shizuo growled tossing and turning landing with a thud on the floor. "Shizu-chan!" Blinking awake he clutched at his finger feeling like it would be torn off. "Shizu-chan! Calm down." Yanking his halo free Shizuo dropped it watching it change colour. What the hell had that dream been about? The controller... or the controlled...which would you rather be? The woman's words still echoed in his mind.

Or had it been a dream? All of his brothers had been as confused as he had been. "W-what?" Izaya was crouched beside him eyes narrowed.

"Bad dream?" The demon picked up his halo examining it. Shizuo blinked when it was dropped the flea jumped back hissing. "What happened? Protozoan. What did you do?" The controller... or the controlled...which would you rather be? He wouldn't be like Shitsuo, he refused to be someone that was controlled. "Wait here, I need to call someone that can help." Izaya backed away throwing the door open.

Wait here. Shizuo scowled at the command pulling himself up. Picking up the ring the half angel slipped it back on his finger. Like he would listen to anyone especially Izaya. Covering a yawn Shizuo stretched hesitantly treading over the threshold. A smile touched his lips as he left the room striding towards the kitchen.

Red. Shitsuo shuddered seeing the change to his halo. Saika had done something to him and his brothers. That dream had been anything but. The tug on his mind was frantic as his master called for him. Sakuraya would know what had happened to him. The bigger question though was how Saika had managed to connect them all. The demon was sealed in the blade that their mother currently wielded...

...Unless something had happened to her. If Saika had taken over Shizuka then did she have control over her body? Shaking his head Shitsuo bit his lip not wanting to think about it. For now he had to deal with the demon currently staying in Tsuki's room. For now it looked like his brothers were all fine.

Tsuki curled up into a ball clutching at his halo the thing was hot in his hands. Tears ran freely down his cheeks at the pain. "Are you crying again?" Lifting his head he could see Roppi sitting on the end of the bed staring at him. "What's that?" The young angel shuddered hiding his halo behind him.

"N-nothing." Tsuki whimpered knowing he had messed up again. The woman in his dream had felt like his mother. Now his halo had been tainted, he couldn't show it to anyone.

"Show me!" The demon demanded leaning over him. "Now!" His friend barked. Closing his eyes Tsuki held it in front of him not wanting to see the look of disgust on Roppi's face. "Its changed colour. Stop being stupid and put it back on."

"Y-you don't think i-it's d-disgusting?" The angel winced a fist slamming down lightly on his head, splayed fingers roughly rubbing at his hair. "Th-thank you, Roppi-kun." The demon turned away. A loud grumbling noise filled the room, cold crimson looking back at him. Covering his stomach in embarrassment Tsuki averted his eyes. "S-sorry. I-I'm hungry."

"Angels don't get hungry, do they? What the hell are you?" The demon stared accusingly at him. "Where is that other one?" Tsuki stared in shock watching his friend leave the room without looking back at him.

"R-Roppi-kun?" Stepping from the bed a light filled his hands. "Roppi-kun!" It was happening again. His friend was upset with him? Why did he keep messing up? His power was activating again. "No-no stop!" Clutching at his head he tried to stop himself from being sent away. A whispered voice echoed in the back of his mind.

Shizuka groaned her fingers twitching as she struggled to open her eyes. In her hand was the sword. Usually by now she would hear Saika's voice in her head. Her hand met solid ground instead of the sand she had passed out on. Pushing herself onto her knees Shizuka stared at the unmoving body of the demon she had come to see.

"How did I get here? Oi, why are you sleeping?" Crawling over Shizuka leapt to her feet backing away hastily. The demon was dead. Had they found out about Shizuo already? Maybe she should have killed them to stop everything getting complicated.

"You're the one, aren't you? The bitch that forced me to kill my mate?" Shizuka shivered at the bitter voice full of hatred. Slowly turning around she came face to face with one of the most beautiful demons she had ever seen. Too bad she had enough necessary flings. "I'm going to make sure you suffer angel. You had the nerve to bear my mate's child? He was mine!" The woman hissed taking a step forward.

Shizuka shuddered taking a step back. She didn't know how she had got here but she wasn't staying. The demon meant to kill her. Something slithered over her feet. "Great." The woman was smirking. The blonde hit the floor hard her body being crushed The snake tightened its grip making her cry out in pain. The sword fell from her hand clattering uselessly to the floor leaving her on her own at the mercy of a pissed off demon and her pet.
