Taken over

Tsuki clutched at his head rolling into a ball. He could hear voices in his head. A woman. His brothers. Everything was inside his head making him feel like it was about to burst. "Hurts. Roppi-kun. Help me!" The young angel cried. It was too much for him. He could feel Shizuo's emotions in large bursts shaking him to the core. He could feel whispers on the edge of his mind.

"What is it?" The wolf demon sniffed crouching down resting a hand on his shoulder. "What's wrong?"

"My head hurts." Tsuki whimpered. "I can hear a woman's voice. I can feel m-my brothers."

"Fight it. Try to block it out." Roppi snapped resting a hand on his cheek.

"I can't." Do you want to control or be controlled? Tsuki blinked feeling everything stop. It was like the connection had been severed. "I-its gone." Sitting up he threw himself into Roppi's arms hugging him tightly. "I thought I would break." He confessed sobbing.

"Someone like you is more susceptible to mind tricks. You'll need to learn to control it. Take a deep breath." Roppi instructed pushing him away.

"S-sorry. I won't do it i-if you don't l-like it." Tsuki cried moving away.

"You're stuttering again." The demon snapped turning into a wolf. Tsuki blinked as it nuzzled his cheek. When he tried to move away the creature growled.

"Its okay to hug you when you're like this?" Tsuki smiled stroking Roppi's fur. Curled up with his friend the young angel felt himself relax. "Y-you're so soft, Roppi-kun." Closing his eyes he felt everything disappear until it was just him and the demon. Or that's what it was supposed to be. With a growl Roppi changed back reaching a hand into his pocket.

"What?" He barked down the phone? Tsuki blinked watching as his friend stood up and left talking coldly to whoever was on the phone. Do you want to control or be controlled? Shaking his head the blond stood up hurrying forward to where Roppi was within earshot. "What did you think was going to happen going on about all this soul mate crap?" Soul mate? Who was the demon talking to? Tsuki blinked remembering something his older brother had said.

Tsuki, you're lucky. You don't know what being alone is, to not have someone who loves you unconditionally. Did you know that every spirit, soul and living being has a soul mate, someone that was born for that exact purpose? Us too we have them out there waiting for us. If we all stay here though nothing will happen. That's why we need to leave. If nothing changes then there is no way to meet them. Wouldn't you want to meet that special someone born just for you? Don't tell the others. Remember this. A child forever lost and found.

"A child forever lost and found." Tsuki recited. The door flew open cold eyes staring down at him.

"What did you just say?" Roppi demanded still on the phone.

"Uh...something Tsugaru-nii told me." The demon growled making him jump back in fear a strange light flickering in his palm. "N-no. Stop." Clutching at his hand Tsuki panicked feeling the light spread through his body.

"Idiot. Calm down." Roppi scolded grabbing his hand. "Try and control it. Breathe deep think about nothing." With the demon's guidance the light slowly faded away. "Good. Stay here." Tsuki fell to his knees watching Roppi turn back to speak to whoever was on the phone.

"Roppi-kun. H-how are you using it?" His brother had once brought a phone back for them to see saying that it wouldn't work unless it was in the human realm. His question was ignored. Do you want to control or be controlled? Tsuki sighed. "If I can protect everyone...t-then it d-doesn't matter." The voice fell silent. "Hello?"

Maybe that was all the voice wanted. An answer to her question. "I can't control my power, I can't help anyone like this." The door flung back again this time the phone call had ended.

"We need to get out of here. The angels will be looking for anything to get rid of the time limit." Tsuki nodded rushing to his room. A loud chime made him jump. Someone was at the door. "You need to use your power." Shaking his head the young angel began to panic. The front door burst open blue light slicing the wall.

"I-I can't." Tsuki whispered not wanting to be found. Protect. Cut. Love. The voice had changed. "I-I-" A faint red glow spread over his skin returning to his halo. If Roppi could be protected...then he didn't care what would happen.

The young angel yawned sitting up slowly. He found himself sitting in a large chair. "Hello?" Tsuki called out only to get an echo back. Climbing down from the chair the room around him shook violently getting smaller. Taking a step back to sit on the chair everything went back to normal. By his feet was a long shiny blade that glowed red. Reaching out for it a hand slapped his away.

"Tsukishima, you shouldn't touch things that don't belong to you. How many times have I said that?" Shizuka scolded taking a seat in the other chair.

"Mama?" Tsuki smiled trying to get off the chair.

"Stay where you are. I don't know you got here but don't get off that chair. That is your only way back. Leave and you'll lose yourself. I hoped this wouldn't happen. Right now there is someone else in your body. I should have noticed sooner. I'm sorry, Tsuki. When we see each other again I'll give you a big hug. Stay safe, okay? Be strong. It will be over soon."

Tsuki nodded smiling even as he clutched the cold edge of the chair. "Mama, everyone is safe. I can feel them in my head. I made a friend too. He's a demon but he's a nice demon." Glancing up he could see the other chair was empty. "Mama?"

Tsuki opened his eyes blinking in surprise. "R-Roppi-kun, y-your eyes!" Soft pink eyes widened slightly.

"He'll be fine. It looks like its gone." Tsuki gasped seeing two identical demons. "Have you already forgotten? We've met before. I'm Sakuraya." Feeling stupid the blond stared down into his lap where a sleeping wolf lay curled around him. "I've never seen Roppi this close with anyone."

"Tsuki, are you okay?" His older brother looked down at him worried.

"I'm okay. I met mama. W-where are we?" The room was completely different to the one he had been in. "Did I m-manage to use m-my power?"

"Not quite. You were taken over by Saika. Did she say anything to you?" Sakuraya asked. Tsuki gulped shaking his head. "I thought it was too late. Whatever the case your power saved us."

The angel grinned happy that he had managed to protect Roppi. "Do you remember anything, Tsuki? Anything from when she was controlling you?" His brother asked.

"Just that I s-saw mama. S-she told me n-not to leave the chair." He knew he wasn't much help. Tsuki blinked feeling something shift inside him.

"Shitsuo, you should keep your brother calm. Make sure he doesn't use his power. I'm going to take a look around." Lowering his head his fingers stroked the wolf's fur.

"Tsuki, I need to tell you something. Its about you. I need you to stay perfectly calm and listen to me." A low growl sounded crimson eyes glaring at his brother. "Or your friend can explain it to you..."

At that his hand was knocked away the wolf stalking away changing form. "That is nothing to do with you. You and the rest of my brothers can believe in that crap all you want. Leave me out of it." Roppi stood storming from the room. Not wanting to be alone the young angel ran after him.

"Roppi-kun! Wait." Tsuki called reaching for his friend. The demon didn't stop leaving the small house. Crimson eyes widened finding himself standing in the middle of nowhere. Roppi had stopped too looking around. "Where are we?" The greenery spread out in front of them large cliffs enclosed the space. Looking up he knew where they were.

"We're s-still in heaven." Tsuki muttered looking around. There was no sign of any other angels. In the distance he could see a bright light flickering. It was the only difference. Moving forward a hand clamped down on his wrist.

"Don't be stupid. Do you want them to find you?" Roppi snapped hauling him back. "Why did we end up here? That woman took control over you. Why did she bring us here?"

"Because it's safe." His older brother stepped beside him. "This is where our mother stayed whilst she was pregnant with Shizuo."

"Eh?" Tsuki blinked in surprise looking back at the house. "Why? Why didn't mama stay at home?"

"Tch." Roppi growled. "Have you lot told him anything? This is why he can't even speak properly. You idiots are babying him."

"Which is no different from you rejecting everything." Turning around Tsuki found himself staring in awe as the other raven walked closer.

"A-are you really a man?" The blond found himself asking. Covering his mouth when he realised everyone was staring at him Tsuki flushed bowing his head.

"I'll take that as a compliment." Sakuraya replied softly. "It looks like for now we'll have to stay here. The problem will be these two." As if summoned both his and Roppi's stomachs grumbled. "There is no food or drink in the house. The portals will be guarded. I'm sure the archangels are questioning whether or not demons have infiltrated their home. For now we'll think of a plan. Roppi , turn into your other form. You need to conserve energy."

"Don't tell me what to do." Roppi snapped.

"You know what will happen." Tsuki glanced between the two brothers. This was his fault. He had accepted the woman's help and now they were stranded.

"Maybe if Izaya kept a better grip then maybe we wouldn't be in this situation." The blond jumped running to hide behind his older brother. He hated it when there was fights and raised voices.

"W-why are they fighting?" Tsuki whimpered.

"Because they're family. Its what families do." Shitsuo explained placing a hand on top of his head.

"O-ours doesn't."

"Our family is different. Have you ever seen Tsugaru angry?"

"No." Tsuki admitted clutching at his brother's sleeve.

"See. There is a lot you don't know. A lot that we kept from you to protect you. I want you to understand that."

"Shitsuo-nii?" What had been kept from him? Listen...learn...love. Huh? That voice was back sounding softer in his mind. "What's going on?" Taking his brother's hand Tsuki followed behind leaving the two demon brothers to argue.

"Do you know why you get hungry and the rest of us don't? Just like Shizuo is part demon. You are part human. If anyone had found out we would all be in danger. The power you have can only be held by halves. That's why you can't let anyone see you use it. Do you understand?"

Half human? Was that why he was different? "Okay. I-is that why Roppi-kun is hungry too?"

"Yeah. He's a half like you. You're taking this easier than I expected." Shitsuo sighed leaning back against the grass. Tsuki joined him feeling his tears flow as they watched the pillar of smoke coming from the home they had grown up in.

"I h-have to stay c-calm, r-right? Is e-everyone the b-bad guys?" Turning away the young angel sniffed clinging to his brother.

"Yeah. Until we know who to trust."

"W-what about Roppi-kun?" Tsuki cried. Not wanting to leave his friend. Until he learnt to use his power they were all stuck together.

"Don't worry, you can trust us." Tilting his head back crimson eyes widened seeing Roppi's wolf form held in Sakuraya's arms. "We're tied by fate." The wolf growled swiping at the raven. "Its not my place to explain it to you." Tsuki smiled when Roppi lay down close to his side.

"F-fate? L-like soul mates?" The angel yelped sharp teeth nipping at his leg. "Ow. Th-that hurt." Seeing that there was no marks Tsuki forgave his friend the wolf's head flopping onto his lap. "I-its okay R-Roppi-kun. You don't have t-to tell me." He was used to being kept innocent. As long as he got to stay with his best friend nothing else mattered.
