Deep fears
Shizuo yelped his small body passing through space in a blink of an eye as he was swept from Izaya's arms and into his mothers. It was strange how he could feel everything she could. Maybe it was his animal senses. Maybe it was a side effect after being connected for so long or maybe it was because of their bond as mother and son. Then again Tsuki had been the one to pick up on what he had wanted.
Saika was sitting against the bathroom door staring emptily into space. She wasn't crying but he could feel that her heart was broken. Licking at her hand his mother looked down at him with a small sad smile revealing to him everything she was feeling. It was only for an instant before she was back to normal, much like the poker face the cat demon wore.
What he could feel though were waves of power flowing around her. Whoever the headless woman had been she had done something. "Shizuo." A small clear voice brushed against his twitching ears. It was the first time he had heard his mother's voice. It was like clear cut crystal in its purity cutting through everything.
There was no way his mother was a demon with that kind of voice. Her hand slowly stroked his fluffy head. Moving more into the gentle touch Shizuo tilted his head urging her on. Maybe he was becoming to used to being a four legged furry animal. "Change back." A quiet whisper brushed against his long ears.
Shizuo growled shaking his head as he buried himself further into the woman's arms. He didn't want to turn back. What if he did more damage? What if he hurt someone he cared about again or caused Izaya to lose another life. In his current form he was helpless and a threat to no one. Pawing at his mother's slim arm he tried to get the message through. He was the god of destruction.
Too late he could feel his eyesight sharpen, his body feeling heavier, skin smooth instead of furry. His legs lengthened feeling strange underneath him, his arms like jelly as he lounged awkwardly in his mother's lap. Shizuo blinked looking behind him to see his tail was still there, his ears too flopped down brushing against the side of his head.
"No." The hybrid whispered backing away. "I- I don't want to destroy anything. Change me back." He knew that he should be able to do it himself but Shizuo didn't know how. "Please. I can't control it." Bowing his head he looked away from the gentle face of his mother. "I hurt everyone. Shizuka is gone because of me." Hugging his knees, Shizuo clenched his fists as if that would stop the destruction he could cause.
"Shizuo, change back." Blinking in shock Shizuo raised his head seeing his mother smiling at him. "When you are ready, you'll control your transformation." Opening his mouth to say thank you, a loud bark left his throat instead. His vision had dulled, smell enhanced along with his hearing. Wagging his tail the puppy yipped leaping back into his mother's arms licking at her cheek.
Shizuo held on tightly as his body swayed, Saika standing up to open the door. Feeling shy he buried himself into the crook of her arm seeing everyone looking at them. "Saika-sama." A growl rose in his chest for the one that had brought the headless woman in the first place. His vision was blocked by a flash of white and blue. A warm feeling seeped into his fur making him feel relaxed and forgetting why he had been angry in the first place.

Tsugaru grimaced as he used his power finding it harder to channel now that he was a fallen angel. The puppy stopped its growling though he could see the sore thick red lines on Saika's forearm where Shizuo had lost control. "Are you okay?" he asked softly trying not to draw his brother's attention to the wound.
The woman nodded with a soft smile a single finger placed lightly against her lips. She too knew how Shizuo would react to hurting someone else. Standing in front of his aunt he could see that something had changed. There was a spark in Saika's eyes, a shimmer to her hair and a strange feeling that everything would be okay. The soft smile on her lips unnerved him making him back away slightly.
Tsugaru watched her as she took a seat on the bed next to his mother, slim fingers combing gently through golden tresses. No one moved or so much as blinked unsure what had happened in the bathroom. The headless woman had walked out with her head on her shoulders tears streaming from her empty eyes as she walked from the apartment as if hypnotized.
The snake coiled on his mother hissed raising its head. That was when he heard it like a metallic twinkle through a breeze. "Change back." In front of his eyes the snake reared back looking surprised as the raven haired demon straddled his unconscious mother. Crimson orbs blinked wide in shock.
"You! What did you do?" Saika didn't answer instead leaning close to Shizuka. Now with his aunt's curse broken, their mother's could be too waking her from her slumber. Or so he thought. The woman shifted back gently placing the puppy onto the bed. Tsukishima got up from where he was sitting handing her the pieces of paper.
I need your blood. I can wake her up but she'd be the same as before and still cursed. The blood of her sins. Tsugaru read the written words quickly tearing the piece of paper into strips. The last words had been meant for him alone and not for the prying eyes of the Oriharas. Saika needed their blood meaning he had to find his twin and Delic.
Picking up the sleeping bunny, the fallen angel hurried from the room. Being quite expressionless he could tell that what Saika wanted was urgent. His aunt had a habit of looking up as if there was something bad on the ceiling but he knew that wasn't the case. It was something outside the building, something way up high. Heaven? No what Saika feared was another realm altogether.
The two sisters had defied their own kind to create a barrier to protect everyone from their games and cruelty. Now that the barrier had been broken what was there to stop the gods interfering again? The answer was nothing. Unless his mother woke up there was nothing that could stop it. But what could be worse than someone who could change reality with a single word?

"Put me down commoner!" His so called mate screeched pounding against his back. "Degenerate! Neanderthal! Caveman! Your insolence will not go unpunished. Do you hear me? I order you to put me down!" Hibiya continued to shout abuse at him even as he was running for his life. A fireball shot past his nose from one of the demons that had nearly caught up.
A hand snatched his wrist tugging him out of the way. Delic went to pull away before catching a good look at the demon. "This way, Delic-sama." Suzuki. One of Izaya's demons. "There are fifteen demons down the path you are heading." The fallen angel smiled changing direction. With the help of the demon he made it safely past the danger.
It wasn't long at all until he slowed to a halt in front of his once beautiful club. Like the rest of Ikebukuro his club had been destroyed, reduced to rubble, the sign buried into the cracked concrete flickering as the last of its power died. Letting go of the raven's legs, Hibiya fell from his back. Delic slowly stepped forward seeing the ruins of his once beautiful creation.
"How stupid. Mourning the loss of a building." Delic spun around punching the arrogant demon in the gut. It was more than that. Taking Suzuki's hand the two of them walked past the fallen sign and into the wreckage. He could feel the pull of the bond but ignored it in favour of ducking under one of the beams. "I demand you get back here!" Delic kept going.
The beams were barely standing, the rest of the ruins ready to collapse at any moment. "Delic-sama, are you okay?" Taking another step forward his knees gave out reaching the full length of the invisible leash Hibiya had him on. The demon looked down at him sympathetically running a hand through his hair. "Would you like me to make it all better?"
"Its all gone. You can go home S-" Delic blinked feeling a dark shadow pass over him. "Why are you still here?" He asked trying to stand but unable to fight the bond.
"Sweet dreams." The fallen angel slipped back into the incubus's arms his eye lids flickering as he tried to use his own power. "Forget everything. You have all you need." His head lulled to one side arms dropping down as he was lifted like a rag doll. He had what he wanted?

Delic smiled leaning back in his chair. Outside he could hear the music thrum through the club, his dancers giving everyone what they needed. Moving away from the desk he exited his office smiling warmly at his customers. The VIP room beckoned to him. Making his way over Delic paused feeling like he was being watched. Turning his head he could see golden eyes pierce through the smoky atmosphere. "Delic-sama."
A hand rested on his arm pulling his attention to the demon. "Suzuki. Isn't it your turn to dance?" There was no answer as she pulled him towards the open door. "Where are the customers?" Usually the room would be a sea of writhing bodies all indulging in each other.
"I reserved this room today." Delic blinked seeing his younger brother standing alone in the room. "Delic-nii san, can you spare a little time?" Didn't Shizuo have brown hair not blond? Not that it mattered Delic licked his lips stepping forward. "I missed you."
"Yeah, sorry I-" Huh? What was he sorry for? Delic shook his head feeling something tug at the back of his mind. His brother smiled stepping forward to take his hand. The two of them walked over to the long pink corner sofa. "Why is that here?" A hand covered his mouth heated coffee orbs silencing him.
"I brought it here." Delic nodded knowing it made sense. With Shizuo's strength anything was possible. "Take a seat." The host smiled doing just that finding his suit dissolving as soon as he sat down. "Relax and let me take care of everything." Delic blinked seeing his younger brother kneel licking his lips. This was what he wanted. Reaching up he scratched his throat feeling it tingle. Why did it feel so itchy?
Delic groaned feeling Shizuo's hands on him. It was like a dream come true. His nipples twinged as larger hands fondled him. Huh? "I hope you don't mind, Delic-nii san. I asked someone else to join in. We'll take care of you." What Hib- who? The fallen angel groaned falling back against the large toned body behind him. Delic moaned as his body was played with by the two men his head thrown back in bliss.
A loud roar made him blink looking around the empty room. "Hush. There's nothing here except for us." Delic nodded recognizing that voice. "Tricky thing having similar powers." The demon said licking the shell of his ear. "Dreams don't work on you properly, the only way I can take energy from you is to touch you directly." The blond shrugged taking Shizuo's hand to help him onto the sofa with them. "You want him, don't you? Then take him, show him your feelings."
The host shivered feeling something curl underneath him whilst he reached to touch his brother. Pain shot through him making him cry out. "Ow. Cut it out!" The incubus- oh. "I'm dreaming." The image of his brother flickered fading away with the rest of the room.

Delic yelped his eyes snapping open seeing that he was still where he had been when he had first entered the club. Sharp teeth dug into his ankle ripping him free of the incubus's power. "What do you think you're doing?" He addressed his employees trying to pull the lion cub off of his ankle.
"We don't work for you any more. How do you like a taste of your own medicine?" His ex dancer sneered. "Try it again." The incubus reached for him and this time he was ready rolling out of the way clutching the lion cub. His wings spread out wide soaring through the wreckage and away from the two demons. Hibiya had saved him. Turning his head he took one look at the club his mouth dropping open. The building moved liked pottery clay bending from side to side before settling at its original shape, the broken beams fixed themselves, the glass shards slid together like a jigsaw puzzle floating up to return back to their window frames. Lastly the sign hovered returning to its place above the door the lights flickering as the club burst into life.
Slowly he lowered himself to the ground being careful with his ankle. Delic gaped at the club turning around to see the buildings next to it were going through the same thing. Ignoring the demons and angels around him, Delic flew through the air seeing the buildings rise from the ashes each one standing proud. It was happening right in front of his eyes. One by one the angels and demons stopped fighting watching in awe.
The humans could see as well each of them gasping at the miracle that was happening. The large television screens returned blaring into colour. The fallen streets that to humans looked like earthquakes and not the result of supernatural fighting lifted fixing back into place. Looking up he could see that the sky remained a deep purple and still the shards of the barrier continued to rain down.

Tsukishima clung to the wolf demon who hadn't yet brushed him away. Deciding that there was nothing they could do holed up together, the rest of them were leaving the safety of the apartment. His older brothers had gone making him worry. Sure they were with their soul mates but that didn't mean they couldn't get hurt.
Saika was walking ahead carrying a puppy and a cat who she had ordered to transform. The blue eyed god was walking silently beside him, whilst his mother was still asleep being carried by Kanra. Seeing how destroyed everything was Tsuki sniffed tugging on his aunt's sleeve.
"I-Isn't there anything you can do?" The woman smiled warmly at him, slowly nodding her head. The young angel was puzzled why she kept looking up at the sky.
"Restore." It was one word quietly spoken, a small breeze turning into a gust that swept through Ikebukuro. Crimson orbs widened in surprise seeing the ground in front of his feet smooth out any cracks disappearing. In the distance he could see the fallen debris rising the pieces slotting back together. Excitedly he tugged on the demon's sleeve smiling and pointing.
"Look Roppi-kun." Hurrying forward to get a closer look, the wolf demon grumbled following after him. "Its like magic. Will the barrier be fixed as well?" There was no answer to his question. Slowing to a halt the angel stared nervously at the demons in front of them. They didn't seem to be bothered with him all of them stopping to watch Ikebukuro being restored. He didn't notice the light surrounding his palms and floating around his body.

Saika turned her head feeling her nephew's power but it was too late to stop it. Clutching tighter to the two animals in her hand Saika grit her teeth. "Wings." It was painful as they spread out behind her. Not soft, white and feathery like an angel, nor dark and rough like a demon. Her wings were metallic much like the sword she had been trapped in all of those long years. Her wings would tear at anyone that tried to touch them. Her feathers were steel blades.
It was only because of the strong winds that she could even fly. It was also a sign that her other problem was still there. Even if she was freed from being a sword that didn't mean she couldn't return to being one at any time. That wasn't important though. Right now she needed to track down each of Shizuka's children.
Swooping forward towards the bright light she knew it was too late. Tsukishima's power was becoming unstable. Hopefully he was with another of his brothers. Saika froze hearing something resonate with her wings tugging at her heart. Letting herself down her wings collapsed falling to the ground. "Saika-sama?" Mikado asked.
Saika shook her head finding herself walking to an unknown destination. In the distance she could hear a loud neigh. Shizuo barked in her arms most likely picking up on what she was feeling. She couldn't answer. The cat in her arms dug its nails into her skin though that didn't break her concentration.
Something was calling her, screaming her name. Saika broke into a run turning the corner. The closer she got to her destination the louder the voice became. Not god, not angel or demon. Human. It was a human calling her. Stopping in front of the home Saika slung back the door her eyes narrowing on the man kneeling over a small girl his hands around her throat.
Usually she was disciplined, in control of her power or else it would become like her sister's and anyone else who was consumed by it. The stronger the power the more danger the user would be in. "Get the hell away from her!" Saika snarled feeling the darkness try and seep back in her vision turning red for a brief moment.
The man screamed clutching his head as he slammed into the wall and slumped. Saika thought back to her command knowing she had killed the man and that she had sent him to hell with the worst of the demons. Shaking it from her mind she squeezed the two animals tighter turning away from the bleeding woman on the floor. The girl's mother.
The demon cat didn't want to be held clawing his way out of her arms and padding up to the woman. With one hand free Saika crouched down checking that the girl was okay. Scared crimson orbs blinked back at her, long raven hair thick with blood. Saika put one arm around the trembling girl trying to calm her. "Change back."
The cat demon morphed back looking at the woman's body in morbid fascination. "What's your name little girl?" The girl shook her head clutching harder to her chest. Saika glared at him. "That was what you wanted me to ask her, wasn't it? You could ask her yourself and risk tearing her reality apart."
"...Sonohara Anri." Saika blinked staring down at the child in shock. The one that subconsciously knew her name. The young girl that used to be a goddess. The one that had sealed her into a sword in a bid to help her contact Shizuka. "Who are you? What happened to mummy and daddy?" Mikado's punishment was to slowly lose his power and become human. "Why are you crying?" Anri had been pushed through the cycle reborn as a human with no memories.
