True enemy

"Oi, are you okay?" Roppi asked gruffly. Tsukishima shook his head trying to come to terms with the headache he had due to his powers and knowing that he had yet another half brother. Of all the places to end up it was in front of the headless woman and a bespectacled raven who looked like they were kissing.

It was only with the arrival of his self proclaimed father that he found out that Shinra Kishitani was his half brother. It left him shocked sitting on the sofa unable to move, the demon at his side. "I know this may come as a shock..." It was hard to listen to the rest, the only thing stop him from losing control of everything was his friend. Tsuki clung to Roppi's forearm glad that he hadn't been shrugged off.

"Is there any other secrets in your family?" The young angel blinked staring at Shinra. Sure he hadn't ever wanted to be alone, he had wanted to be with his family which at the moment only seemed to be getting bigger. His fingers continued to glow with a strange light alerting him to the fact that he could be whisked away at any moment. That was probably why Roppi hadn't pushed him away.

"That depends." His father said through the strange mask. "Did you know your mother was a goddess manipulated into an angel?" Tsukishima nodded. "Did you know she was cursed?" Again he nodded. Nothing should have been able to shock his young mind. "Someone is at the door." It was the end of their conversation, the middle aged human leaving to answer the door.

The headless woman unnerved him but not as much as his new brother. "So you're my half brother. Firstly Celty is my beloved, stay away from her and secondly...Can I take a blood sample?"

"Stay away from him filthy human." Roppi shuffled forward on the sofa looking like he would tear Shinra apart.

"Joke it was a joke. Are you two together?"

"Tsuki, what are you doing here?" Standing in the doorway was his older brother a soft smile on his face. All it took was a glance at his fingertips to know the answer. "Ah, I see."

"What's wrong, Tsu-chan?" Tsugaru's mate poked his head around the door with a curious glance around the room. "Ooh your baby brother is here too. Hi Roppi. What a coincidence." Reluctantly letting go of Roppi, Tsuki quickly found himself in his brother's calming arms.

"Tsuki?" His brother asked concerned. It was Roppi that helped him out.

"That guy is his father and this one is his half brother." The demon said bored.

"Ah. There are still things about our family we don't know about. You'll get used to it. Try and keep calm, okay?"

"Wow another sibling?" Psyche was grinning as he skipped over to the human. His older brother sighed shaking his head.

"Psyche, we're not here to play."

"Then why are you here? I presume its because of Shizuka." Tsuki found himself left behind as the pair left the room quickly followed by the pink eyed raven.

"Oi!" A hand rested on his shoulder. "Don't leave my side." The blond smiled.

"Yes, Roppi-kun." A loud cough made him look back at his new half brother.

"So about that blood sample? Or you could show me your wings." Under his hand he could feel the soft fur as the demon morphed into a wolf showing two rows of sharp pointy teeth. Roppi didn't have to do anything though as Shinra crashed to the ground after what looked like a painful jab in the ribs. "Ooh, that's the spot my beloved."

Tsuki found himself watching in a mix of disgust and bewilderment as his new half brother hit the floor unconscious albeit with a smile on his face. The headless woman slowly walked towards him typing on her phone. You were with Saika. Is she okay? The angel blinked wondering why she didn't have her head.

"Auntie Saika? She's okay. Shizuo-nii is with her." Tsuki informed her missing his aunt and older brother. A puff of smoke rose from the woman's neck startling him.

Your auntie? Then you are Shizuka's children?

"I am. Shizuo-nii is Saika's son." His smile dropped seeing the shadows spike. Next to him the wolf growled.

Saika has a child? I see. I didn't expect that. Tsuki tilted his head watching as her shoulders slumped and slowly walked from the room. "D-did I say anything wrong?" A soft growl was his response.

"Tsukishima." His older brother was back. "I need to take some of your blood." Wide eyed crimson blinked. "Its to break our mother's curse. What happened to him?" Tsukishima shrugged closing his eyes as he held out his arm. "Don't worry it won't hurt."

Tsuki cracked an eye open feeling the needle leave his skin. Roppi's furry head rested on his lap. Tsugaru's hand was on his shoulder keeping him calm. "Wow, your blood is silver. That's so cool." Psyche chimed. Silver? Why was it silver? He had cut himself before and his blood had been crimson like his eyes. Was it because of his powers?

"That's two down." His brother smiled gently taking the vial of blood adding it to another vial of crimson liquid that had a metallic shimmer. "I'm going to track down Delic and Shitsuo. Will you be okay on your own?" Tsuki smiled shyly glancing down at the wolf.

"I-I'll be okay." His hair was ruffled, Tsugaru smiling softly.

"Good. Everything will be over soon." Tsuki smiled back full of questions. No matter how naïve he was there was no way he didn't know how bad everything was. "I'll see you later."

It didn't take long to locate Delic. With Psyche by his side the two of them travelled across the madness of Ikebukuro hopping from roof top to rooftop. The raven demon had no problem using bursts of controlled speed to hop gracefully whilst Tsugaru had to use his wings slowing his descent. Below them the angels and demons were back to fighting the brief miracle moment over now that the city had been rebuilt thanks to Saika's power.

"I've found Hibiya." Psyche informed him with a smile. Tsugaru followed his lover's pointing seeing his brother. Delic was standing in the shadows of one of the alleys holding a lion cub. For both angel and demon it wasn't safe to be out. Checking the coast was clear the blond took a deep breath diving from the building, in his arms was his lover's animal form.

It wasn't that far, he could make it without being harmed. His wings tingled remembering the last time he had been hurt. Slowing down his wings vanished as he barely stopped himself crashing into the brick wall. "I didn't see you as a risk taker. You know how dangerous it is right now."

"Delic, I need your blood." Tired pink eyes narrowed.

"Oh? Figures you only came to see me because you needed something." Tsugaru blinked not used to seeing his brother like this. "Why do you need anyway?"

"It's to break our mother's curse."

"Fine."

Shizuo couldn't help but feel left out. His mother was fawning over the little girl. "Feeling lonely, Shizu-chan?" Barking at Izaya, the puppy turned its head away. They were back where they had started since Saika had restored the apartment. "Who would have thought you would have a mother complex."

Shizuo growled glaring at the demon. "There's only so long you can stay in that form. The bond connects us, protozoan. I can feel everything you do." Izaya's hand muzzled him his small form flailing as he was picked up into the cat demon's arms. "Don't struggle." As a puppy he was small and weak but as his normal form he was big, strong but still vulnerable to anything the demon wanted to do to him.

His claws scratched at the demon as he tried to get away. Both his mother and the other god were more interested in the little girl that they had brought with them. His heart quickened knowing that Izaya could basically tell what he was thinking. It was quickly followed by the realization that the bond should work both ways, yet he could feel nothing from the the demon. A cold chill ran through him as he caught sight of the cuts he had made. The ones that had beads of silver liquid oozing out. Why hadn't he noticed that?

Wanting to know more Shizuo prodded mentally at the bond trying to push through the barrier the wall that only seemed to block him. Pushing forward Izaya's thoughts and feelings flooded into him causing his heart to break once again.

The grip on him tightened, the flea squeezing him like a child would a teddy bear. Crimson orbs narrowed coldly, fear settling in his gut. Izaya knew what he was thinking. Renewing his struggling his vision spun as the demon stood up. No one noticed that the room they were in was the room where he had slept with Izaya. Pawing at the demon's arm he tried and failed to get his mother's attention.

"Oh. Are you hungry, Shizu-chan? There should be some pudding cups in the fridge. You like those don't you?" With no way to get free, Shizuo tried to change back only to find himself stuck as a helpless puppy. He knew what Izaya planned to do with him but was helpless to do anything.

Through the door he was carried and out of the apartment. The demon continued to skip further and further away from the safety of Saika. A growl rumbled in his throat as he tried to unjam his jaws which Izaya still had a firm grip on. Being inside Izaya's mind was a frightening place making him wish that he had never tried to push at that wall. "Stop struggling, Shizu-chan." The cat demon purred. "I won't hurt you." But he would. Shizuo knew that. If he got in the demon's way he would be hurt. Izaya didn't have a heart. The slithers of kindness were fake. Everything had been a lie.

With the barrier destroyed the portals to both the angel and demon realms had broken. Shizuo shrank back seeing a silver shimmer getting closer. Like he had seen before he had fallen asleep the surrounding chalky white arch was covered in shimmering gold text. "Now now, don't struggle. We're the only ones that know about this."

The portal led to the one realm he had never seen. Helpless he was carried through the shimmering silver that led through into the realm of the gods. Growling again he tried to claw at the demon's arm. His tiny paw froze seeing the greenery set out in front of him. Though the sky was a pasty white, the fields of flowers continued as far as the eyes could see. "Hm, like mother like son."

Before his eyes the beautiful flowers blackened as if the life had been sucked from them. The demon laughed as all plant life died. Was this because of him? Because of his powers as the god of destruction? Shizuo shuddered wanting nothing more than to go back. "Does it upset you? This realm moulds itself to the image you project in your mind. That damned woman had this place covered in flowers while she made stupid flower crowns."

Shizuo slumped not resisting as Izaya carried him along a white path that appeared in front of them. The realm was foreign to him and as soon as he was on his own he would be lost. The raven though seemed happy skipping along the path that spiralled upwards. Thick cubes popped from the ground hovering in front of them. He knew in his cat form Izaya would have no problems but the damn flea was keeping him captive refusing to release him.

Finally the raven stopped prancing around. Shizuo gulped as the flea stepped onto a large platform where two large stone chairs sat opposite each other. It felt cold. In between them was a table with a black and white chequered board resting on top. "Welcome to my home, Shizu-chan." Home...because he had been tricked. All along he and every one of his brothers had fallen into a trap.

Slowly he was lowered into one of the chairs. Shizuo braced himself ready to make a break for it as soon as he was out of Izaya's arm. One furry paw touched the stone chair, black shadows shot out from the sides wrapping around his small body keeping him secured to the chair. The puppy growled watching Izaya skip around the table lounging in the other chair.

"Don't look at me like that, Shizu-chan. You were thinking of abandoning me. I can't have that. Now then as fun as these are, I don't need them any more." With a wave of his hand Izaya's cat ears vanished. Shizuo bit at the shadows attempting to free himself. "Curiosity killed the cat, you should have stayed ignorant, Shizu-chan. Chew on that stuff as long as you want, its from Celty-san. Now lets see where things are."

The flea reached out touching the board. The board began to rise splitting into three and then four each of them with the strange glow. Shizuo didn't understand what he was seeing, small globes spun around each of them showing one of his brothers.

Of all people he had to fall in love with...he had thought it was the end of the world when it had turned out Izaya was his half brother. Shizuo regretted poking around his mate's mind. Everything was a game. "Are you still sulking?" The raven asked spinning one of the globes. "What are you more upset about? There's no point in lying, I can read your heart."

What upset him more? Shizuo gave up chewing at the shadowy substance flopping down on the cold stone. There was so many things wrong it was hard to know where to start. Izaya was a god who had manipulated himself into a demon. Izaya was the one who had cursed his mother and Shizuka. The god of manipulation out to make everyone suffer. Slowly the shadows around him loosened enough for him to change back before tightening again.

"See, that's better isn't it? I cursed Saika-chan because she got in my way. Shizuka-chan was just annoying with her sister complex and then they had to go and interfere with my game. Those are my humans, my angels and my demons. Everything belongs to me. I control everything." Shizuo said nothing unable to because of the shadows wrapped around his face instead he settled for glaring at the source of everyone's problems.

"You should be happy, being bound to the most powerful being. You were born for me, Shizu-chan. Trust me it took a while thanks to the the failed experiments." One by one images of his older brothers floated in front of him. "Still not all a waste. You care about them, they can be used. Leverage is a powerful thing."

Shizuo felt himself turn pale, his fists clenching. A monster. Izaya was a monster. The one his mother feared had been with them all along. But he was still the god of destruction. Concentrating on the table the table cracked throwing chunks of stone everywhere. "I wouldn't try that on these boards. You don't want to destroy your family by accident do you? Now then I guess you should get some sleep."

With the back of chair gone Shizuo fell back hitting the soft mattress. His body sank into softness. The cat d- well whatever the hell Izaya was smirked. "I still have things to do, I'll join you later. Sweet dreams, Shizu-chan." Warm covers lifted over his shadow covered body. His eyelids slipped shut against his will a gentle rocking motion lulling him into slumber.
