As she walked, her steps echoed down the hollow street, stray flakes of snow fell before her eyes. She felt as though she was being watched, felt the eyes burn into her back, it sent a small shiver down her spine, not a shiver of fear, one of excitement. Her pace quickened as she moved to a small trot, her high top converse crunching the few leaves that clung to the sidewalk. Her eyes scanned the darkness as she felt the excitement prick at her skin. She crossed the empty street the few lights that were put in place had burnt out long ago with no one caring enough to change them. She caught movement to her left, her body told her to keep walking, to run the rest of the way home and ignore her curiosity. Her mind told her to step slowly, her feet carried her next to the dark ally, a mewling sound made her kneel. She saw a small black cat slink from the darkness, its face downcast as it stepped close to her. She held her hand out to run her fingers along the fur. She heard a cracking sound, one of bone breaking, the cats face snapped up at her, its eyes red as fresh blood from a wound. The world around her fractured like glass breaking from a mirror. All she heard was a scream.

I jolted up from bed, my body covered in cold sweat as my heart threatened to pound out of my chest. I gazed up, looking at the mirror on my wall just to remind me that I was real. My hands shook and my throat burned with thirst, I sighed, running my fingers through my messy straight reddish brown hair, the fear was beginning to subside. I looked on the floor, reaching for my jeans and pulling them over my legs, standing and buttoning them, I gazed in the mirror. The reflected form made me frown a small bit, pale, shaggy short hair and intense blue eyes were all that I enjoyed, a girl with rather impressive hips and a chest to kill for stared back, a small bit of weight to her looked simply like it belonged, scars along her arms and chest glared back like a bomb. I scowled as I grabbed the dark grey shirt from my chair, pulling it over my head and ruffling my hair once more. I glared at the mirror again and turned, my foot bumping into something soft. I looked down, kneeling a small bit, a pale of black fur lay on the ground, my hand reached out, touching it. I heard a high pitched ringing as the thing moved, crimson eyes appearing to gaze into mine. My hands shook as I closed my eyes tight, waiting for pain, waiting for anything.
