My life is one huge gigantic freakin mess.
Seriously.
6 months ago I was a normal, adopted, 16 year old girl.
Now, it's a whole other story.
Now, technically, I am a spy in training, going to a spy school, taught by ex spies, having spy best friends, a spy boyfriend thing, and a family of spies, including my missing father. Oh but also, I'm an assassin, with a lunatic terrorist as a stepmother, a terrorist father (who's sanity is also in question due to forgetting his actual wife) and a spy boyfriend/stepbrother who falls through ceilings, and a mind reading device implanted in my brain.
As you can see, my life is going swimmingly. NOT!
"Cammie, your okay!" Zach shouted while running over to me and giving me a bone crushing hug, and subsequently covering me in dust and general ceiling-ness (you know like the plaster and whatever ceilings are made of) making me cough.
"Hey, um Zach.." I started once I had finished coughing, "in case you hadn't noticed, I'm strapped to a chair, while our parents stand watching this encounter, with rings on their fingers."
Confusion spread across his face before he turned to face his mother and my father.
"Hello Zach" Catherine said.
"Hello son" Dad said.
"Matthew?" Zach asked, obviously confused. I mean my dad was supposed to be missing and probably dead, but he was alive and facing us, it would've been weird for anyone.
"Please, call me Dad."
Zach turned back to me, mouth open and eyebrows raised. He looked so cute - NO, now is not the time Cammie.
"Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you. While dad was 'missing', they went galavanting towards a chapel, in the mean time, forgetting mom." I told him.
"Huh?" Oh gosh, he's slow isn't he? I thought he was intelligent!
"Our parents got married, Zach."
I heard Joe shouting down Zach's comms unit, while Zach stood staring at the ring on his mothers finger. Catherine looked kind of guilty, an emotion that I never thought would be associated with her. That emotion, as expected, was soon covered up with a sly smile.
"Yes Zach, it's true. Matt and I are leading the Circle together."
"Okay. Now I'm confused." Zach stated. "First, how? Second, why? Third, why Cam?"
"Zachy we're in love." Catherine replied, but it sounded as though she was trying to convince herself. "And I told you, we want an heir with both Goode and Morgan genes, now they, would be a perfect spy. The ultimate."
"Well then, mother, why did you and your husband not do that yourself?"
"EWWW" I shouted, instinctively, gaining glares from everyone, "what?" I asked innocently. Zach just shook his head and looked expectantly at his mom.
"Because despite the fact that Goode and Morgan genes would be best, we see no issue in throwing in some Cameron genes also. It's more beneficial for everyone." She answered.
This is where I snap:
"Beneficial for everyone, except us, it seems. I'm new to this whole spy and apparently assassin thing, so I would much prefer to get used to it and actually comprehend the information, before pushing a baby through my... Lady bits... Who happens to be fathered by my stepbrother, and will be given straight to a couple of psychopaths!"
"Cameron, be quiet" dad said.
"NO, you don't get to tell me what to do, I find you and mom, and your 'missing', then you kidnap me, to do God knows what, and this is the first time I meet you and your telling me what to do? No, not going to work like that. When you come to your senses and realise your 'wife' is a freak, and come back to your actual wife, with Zach and I, then, and only then, will you tell me what to do."
Dad looked hurt, Zach looked shocked, but proud. Catherine was smirking. Of course.
"As lovely as this has been, I would much rather get out and continue my Christmas, if it's even Christmas anymore, can I please leave now?" I asked
"No."
Great, I'll just stay in this chair for the rest of my life. I looked up at Zach, who winked. He had a plan. Or Joe had a plan. Or Mom. Basically someone had a plan, and it was being put into action.
"So back to the wedding," Zach started, gaining our parents full attention, "I was wondering, what colour scheme did it have?"
I almost giggled. I mean this was Zach. The tough, cocky Zach Goode was asking about colour schemes! But as Catherine replied, I noticed two agents in black, slowly descend from the ceiling and gracefully land on the floor behind Catherine and dad. It must be said there entrance was a lot more covert and spy like than Zach's. I couldn't identify their faces, it was a really dark room. They snuck up behind our parents and whacked them on the back of the neck. Dad instantly collapsed, and i admit, I was a bit scared, I mean he may be insane, but he's still my dad, weather I met him an hour ago or not. Catherine on the other hand, turned and started fighting the two agents. Zach rushed to undo my restraints. Once I was up he hauled my dad into his shoulder and pushed me into the ceiling he had fallen from, climbing up after me.
"Crawl" he instructed, and so I did. I didn't ask questions, I knew better than that.
5 minutes and 46 seconds later we tumbled from an air vent on the second floor into a bush. Exciting right? No. Bushes hurt. Especially when you fall from 30 feet into one.
"Now we run" Zach instructed, and again, I did as I was told.
I ran as fast as I could, considering I wasn't all that fast anyway, and I was now covered in cuts and bruises, that I had no idea how I'd gained. We ran for 3 minutes until a blue van skidded to a halt in front of us. I instantly got ready to fight whoever was in there. But when the door swung open, I realised it was just mom and Joe, and jumped in after Zach and Dad. The door was quickly closed again, and Joe was speeding away from wherever we were. Zach and I were sat leaning against the wall of the van, breathing heavily. Dad, was laying on the floor snoring lightly and unconscious. The only sound was our breathing and the engine for a while, until we heard a sob escape the lips of my mother, who looked like she had just seen a ghost. Then I realised she had, technically seen one.
"Matt"
