Author's note:
Hey! So here;s the next chapter! Hope you guys like it, also I had a quiz about forensics a few days ago and... well, long short story, maybe the odds be ever in my favor... Also giving people heads up, I'm working on chapter 2 for the story 'Regretful', sorry if it took me long to decide, but yeah.
Chapter 3
The other four were watching the performances of the people auditioning. They were seating at a table set on the courtyard, where the performers showed their abilities. Viper was having a hard time staying awake, along with the others... Most of them were guys who didn't even know a lot of fighting skills but bragged about it anyway.
Viper was disappointed that no girl has try out yet. Monkey and Mantis were making jokes of the guys who were introducing themselves. And Crane and Viper were barely putting attention to them, mostly wondering where Po was, not because they were worried about him, but because it was unfair that they had to suffer and he could abandon them.
Every time one of them showed their skills, Shifu just shook his head. He had never believed that someone could perform something so wrong. And just when he thought that it couldn't get worse, it did. A guy perform it even worse.
He sighed...now he understood why his students weren't excited about it. All of them were barely having their eyes open until Po burst running through the doors.
Viper and the others immediately got their energy back, and Mantis started snickering. Viper tried to see why he was snickering until she saw what he was grabbing. He was holding the tiger they met the other day. She smiled, Po couldn't be more obvious.
"Hey guys!" He said, the current guy was interrupted half-way through his performance, so he just marched out.
Master Shifu walked to him, then stood up in front of the tiger, who was standing beside him.
Tigress couldn't believe it. Master Shifu was standing in front of her! She had heard about him, but she had never seen him in real life. She realized she was starring.
"Uh-sorry" She bowed. Shifu looked at her suspiciously. Tigress stood up straight and suddenly wished she could have dressed a little bit nicer than her usual red vest. She looked to Po as if asking for help.
"Shifu, she wants to try out" Po said excitedly, pushing Tigress lightly forward. The others came to where Shifu was standing, making the tiger feel a little bit odd.
"Po, if she wanted to try out, she should have showed up sooner and take a place on the line" Shifu explained, turning his back to them,
"Wait Shifu! Please-"
"Please let me try! I won't let you down, I promise!" Tigress shouted without thinking. But she did have a reason, she couldn't let an opportunity like this just slip out. Master Shifu stopped.
"Sorry, but I can't make exceptions" He strictly ordered.
"Come on Shifu, we haven't found someone else, and she actually beat me and Mantis yesterday, so let's just give her a chance" Viper added,
"Yeah" The guys joined.
"Fine" Shifu finally answered tiredly. The five smiled and took their seats. Tigress bowed her head lightly to show her gratitude towards them. Tigress took a deep breath and went to the center of the courtyard.
"You will show some basic stances, and then you can do whatever style you please" Shifu told her. Tigress nodded. She briefly observed her audience, Po was smiling at her and giving her thumbs up. She was touched by the little remark.
She got on her basic stance and started balancing herself on one leg, showing the element of balance. She then started delivering some punches and kicks, then she did an flip. Her eyes met Shifu's shortly, he wasn't impressed. She then got on her fours, and jumped high into the sky, then she did a split, and when she landed, she landed gracefully, without making a single noise.
That was her basic stances. She now moved one to Tiger Style. She swiftly performed the Tahlia Leap, which was a move she had spent weeks practicing back at the orphanage. She did some sidekicks, which she had learned whenever she was very little. She threw some punches and managed to add some acrobatics to her skills. After her performance, she bowed towards Shifu, breathing heavily.
Po broke into applause, soon followed by the rest, who were all shocked by her display of skills.
"That was impressive" Shifu began,
"Are you kidding!? That was awesome! She was all like -HIYAH! And then like WATCHA! and then-" he stopped when he noticed that his friends were looking at him oddly.
Shifu turned back at Tigress,
"As I was saying, your performance was almost flawless, and I am sure that with more training you would be a perfect warrior" Tigress looked down. She didn't got accepted, she had lost her opportunity.
"So I invite you to live with us in the Jade Palace to continue and improve your skills" She smiled, the first smile the others (besides Po) have seen.
"Welcome, you are the new member of the Furious Five" She smiled and was thinking about tackling him in a hug...but she resisted those urges. Shifu started heading inside the Jade Palace,
"Follow me, we need to introduce you to the staff and to your new room" Tigress nodded and ran to his side.
"Well, aren't you lucky Po?" Monkey commented since Shifu and Tigress were gone.
"what do you mean?" Both Viper and Po asked at the same time.
"Your girlfriend is gonna be living with all of us" Monkey responded, Po started blushing and Mantis and Monkey started laughing and high-fiving each other.
With Tigress and Shifu...
"So that was Zeng" Shifu concluded. Tigress nodded, but then a question came to her mind,
"Do you have a cook, or do you buy your own meals?" She asked, Shifu gave her a questioning look,
"Not that is important" She muttered,
"The Dragon Warrior, whom you have already met, cooks for us, he is quite the chef" Tigress smiled.
"So that is going to be your room, next to Viper's, in front of Po's"
"Now, so you can start settling in, you need to have your parent's permission"
"Oh, that won't necessary, I am an orphan" Shifu widen his eyes, not that he didn't believe Viper when she told him but still, he never expected an orphan to become such a great person.
"Oh. Well then, you can go pick your stuff in the orphanage and if there's anything I need to fill out or sign, just inform me of it. Now I need to go back to the meditation. Nice meeting you Tigress"
Tigress sighed, she stepped inside her new room. The condition was better than the one back on the orphanage, not to say it was bigger.
"Oh and Tigress, I forgot to mention. So you can officially be part of the Five and a Master, Master Chao has to come evaluate you. He will come in a few days after I inform him" Tigress vowed and waited until he disappeared on the hall. A master! She would become a master!
"Hey!" She turned around startled.
"OH, hi Po" She greeted warmly.
"You did awesome back there!" Tigress chuckled.
"Thank you, Po" She started heading out of her room, to get her few things from the orphanage. Po started walking beside her,
"Where are you going?"
"I need to get my stuff before moving in you know" She answered.
"Right. I'll come with so I can help you carry the you know, heavy stuff" Po said with a deep voice, making Tigress laugh.
"Po, I am just going to pick up some scrolls and clothes and I will be good to go" She explained. Po blushed...
"I knew that" He muttered. They continued walking until they got to the orphanage. Tigress lead him to her room, which to her luck, was all clean and tidy.
"Here" Tigress handed him some scrolls, she started packing what seemed to be her clothes in a red bag. She then took a scroll, which seemed more special than the others. Po was about to asked her about it when she spoke.
"Ok, I'm good. Let's go" She only took a step outside with Po behind her when a caretaker stopped her.
"And exactly where do you think you are going, young lady?" The goat asked bitterly, crossing her arms.
"I got accepted into the Jade Palace, so I'm going to live there" She said, the goat started to laugh.
"Oh, I was just waiting for the moment you lost your mind. Now come here and-"
"I DID NOT LOSE MY MIND!" Tigress yelled, making the goat stop breathing. Po coughed and got in between them.
"Oh, Dragon Warrior, I apologize for Tigress's behavior. She is just...'special' "
"No need to apologize, I forgive you for your behavior. I was the one who invited her to the Jade Palace, so if you would excuse us, she is coming with us" He said, making the goat clear a path for him.
"Dragon Warrior. I'm afraid Tigress can't join you" Tigress and Po listened.
"Why?" Tigress asked.
"You are still an orphan, and until someone adopts you, then you are our responsibility, therefore we can't let you go join them"
"WHAT!?" Po and Tigress exclaimed. Tigress was about to turn 18, but that was still days away, she wouldn't be able to display her skill to Master Chao by then, she would be too late... but what other option did she have?
