POV MAX

She drew in and out of consciousness. Waking up to a dark room, sometimes there would be food maybe water, others a guard, and when Sherlock had solved a case an angry Moriarty screaming and the cracks of the whip. She saved her strength, letting herself be dragged around, being force fed, and trying to not move. Everything hurt, breathing sent pain all the way through her. Today though when she woke up she saw something she thought she never would. Sherlock and John were there in front of her. She opened her eyes completely and felt Moriarty's arm around her neck and the gun placed at her temple.

"Nice of you to join us Maximum. Now how about you stand up for me, please? That has to be uncomfortable for you too?"

Max slowly rose to her feet, stumbling a little over herself as she went. When she was up, she leaned into Moriarty so she could stay up.

"Aww well isn't that sweet? Snuggling up to me, I thought we were going to tell Sherlock, not show him?"

Max just rolled her eyes and nudged him as hard as she could manage at the moment. She hated being this close to him.

"Leave her alone, Moriarty I think you've done enough."

"Oh, but don't you see? I've done nothing yet. Well," Moriarty smiled big "almost nothing."

He kept the gun placed to her head and lifted her head up.

"Isn't that right, sweetheart?"

Max stared at him in confusion, but then she remembered when he had took her. How he had made fun of her and Sherlock. How he wanted to know why he had even liked her. She remembered trying, fighting to get him off her. The unforgivable kiss he forced on her. She tried pulling away this time, but he kept her there and forced it again. Sherlock jumping forward, but the guard kept him in placed. Max bit down on his bottom lip and he pulled away smiling.

"You think that will stop me?"

"No, I don't." She glanced at them and nodded ever so slightly "But this just might."

She forced her elbow deep into his stomach and then rose her knee to meet his nose. He had fallen to the ground and she grabbed the gun, looking up she saw Sherlock and John's guards hit the floor. Sherlock ran towards her and hugged her tightly. He pulled her away and began to examine her face.

"Are you okay? Anything broken?"

"She has new cuts Sherlock and a lot of blood is gone."

The doctor in John coming out. Poking here and there, twisting limbs, examining her eyes. Sherlock turned to Moriarty and picked him up off the ground and headed down stairs. There were sirens outside and John went to the window giving a thumbs up.

"You need to sit down. That's to much blood you have lost. You'll get really dizzy quickly if you don't."

"I'll be fine John. Really."

They shuffled their way down the stair and meet the police in the lobby the old building had. Max sat down and let John completely look at her. Her eyes followed Sherlock as he and Greg discussed Moriarty.

"Its a girl."

Max tore her gaze away from Sherlock and smiled. She wrapped her arms around John,

"Congratulations! What do you think of naming her?"

"We aren't sure yet. Mary had tons of ideas. She's waiting for you to help her out, cause we are disagreeing with some."

"I would love too."

She wrapped her arms around him again.

"I've picked out a name. I think its rather good, but Mary and John said no."

He stood there towering above them, hands behind his back.

"Oh really and what's that?"

The two stood up and yet he was still taller.

"I was thinking, you know something unpopular, unoriginal, spectacular. I was thinking Sherlock."

Max cracked up a bit.

"Yes because its a lovely name for a girl."

"I believe it is. No one would dare make fun of her."

Max glanced at John who shook his head and walked to the ambulance to ask for the things he needed to fix the cuts along her back. Max turned to Sherlock who turned to her.

"You've missed some things."

"Really like what?"

"The pressure point freak is dead and I was exiled. Until Moriarty made himself clearly noticed."

Max stared at him for a bit. Then she sighed.

"I'm living with a criminal."

"Oh come off it, you know you love it."

When Max hadn't said anything, he grew worry and stood in front of her. He placed his hand on her arms and moved her a little closer.

"What's wrong?"

"I know you weren't aware of his return, but... where did you think I went when I disappeared? Weren't you worried or anything?"

"Of course I was, but Moriarty had someone who sounded like you call John. They told him you left. That you didn't want to be around any of us, and that.. things here were getting too serious. You couldn't commit to it. John kept telling me it was you. That he was sure. I.. I went with it. To get him to leave me alone, but I didn't want to believe you would just up and leave, without saying goodbye."

He looked at Max as if afraid to say more. Max reached up and pulled him closer. He hesitated Looking around before wrapping his arms around her. He kept her there and wouldn't let her let go, not caring anymore of who saw what.

"I would never just up and leave you. No matter what, I will always say goodbye. But you have nothing to worry about there. Because I will never leave you, Sherlock Holmes. Never in a million years, because-"

Her grip loosened on his neck and she collapsed in his arms. Sherlock holding on, he looked to find the shooter and saw Moriarty standing there smiling. He dropped the gun and put his hands up as the police all drew their guns and pointed them at him. The ambulance team came running and Sherlock looked back at Max.

"No, no please. No."

He placed his hands on the wound and applied pressure.

"No. I promised I would find you and I would keep you safe. No Please stay with me please."

Max lifted her hand to his face she ran her thumb through the tear line.

She smiled at him.

"Of course, Mr. Holmes. I'll stay. You can't get rid of me that easily. If you do Mrs. Hudson is going to need another broom."

Sherlock laughed and grabbed her hand.

"I've faced worse Sherlock. I'll be fine."

He nodded.

"Max-"

Max placed her hand on his lips.

"I don't want to hear it. Wait till I'm out of the hospital okay?"

"Okay."

She placed her hand on the back of his neck and pulled him down to kiss him. When his head came back up her hand traced the line of his jaw. She examined him and when her eyes finally landed on his she smiled.

"Did I ever tell you what I had gotten off you the day we meet?"

The ambulance men placed her on the stretcher.

"No, what?"

"I picked up that you were a know it all who didn't care for others opinion, you were stuck up, and rude. You didn't have many friends and you were a troublemaker. But I also say a man who cared with all his heart and gave everything all he could. I saw a man with humor and intelligence. I saw a man, the first man, who got stuck in my head and would not leave."

"Only you could see past my walls."

Max smiled at him and tilted her head to the side to look at him better.

"Don't get into to much trouble while I'm gone will you?"

Sherlock smiled and laughed a little.

"No promises."

Max gave him a last smile.

"Didn't think so."

The doors slammed shut and the sirens carried on as the van disappeared over the hill. Sherlock finally turning away when they couldn't be heard. He took his hands out of his pocket along with the gun and marched to the car holding Moriarty. He was going to pay one way or another.
