**Back to the story**
"We still haven't eaten yet," Takumi said, like he was reminding the lady sitting across from him. He stared at her face. She was beautiful, he thought for the millionth time, especially under the thousand lights glowing around the garden.
"Oh. Um, yeah," Misaki answered, coming out of her trance. She shrugged casually as if she wanted to start a conversation. "So, is this why you're late?" she asked slowly, matching her voice in the calm atmosphere of the wonder around her; that was taken by Takumi.
Takumi smiled softly, his eyes fluttered a little and shrugged. Always the man of surprises, Misaki thought fondly. He snapped his fingers crisply and on cue, a man in black and white suit came out of nowhere, carrying food on a golden tray. The butler laid out it on the table silently. The couple muttered their thanks and the butler vanished as soon as he was done.
"Where did that guy come from?" Misaki blurted out, clearly surprised at the appearance of the butler.
"Hired him," he simply said. He handed her a table napkin to put around her neck. "It's not that cold, you can remove the scarf." He tugged gently at her scarf.
"No, it's okay. I'd like to keep it," she said. She folded the napkin beside her plate.
Takumi, always the gentleman, served the steamed rice with furikake topping. Though there were too many words tumbling inside their own heads waiting to be said, they ate in complete silence. It made Misaki nervous.
"Good thing you didn't order a lot of food like before," she said, attempting to make a conversation.
"I didn't want to scare you with so much food so…" He shrugged with a boyish grin. Seeing that made Misaki sagged on her sit as her nervousness eased a little. Little conversations drone on as they finished their rather sumptuous food. The butler materialized back and served them parfaits in tall glasses. He took their used utensils and disappeared once again.
Takumi pushed the glass with vanilla ice cream towards her. Misaki blinked at it. "You remembered," she breathed. He smiled crookedly that made her heart jump a few beats. A certain memory of the beach popped in her head so suddenly it momentarily knocked her out; - 'I want to try chocolate with vanilla.' Oh God… She felt her face burn in deep blush.
"Misaki?" Takumi asked concernedly.
She shook her head vigorously. "Nothing." And then she quietly stuffed the ice cream in her mouth.
When dessert was over, Takumi took a deep breath as if composing himself. He stood up graciously and went beside her. He held out his hand, smiling like he was being paid to do so. "Will you dance with me, Misaki?" he asked smoothly.
Misaki stared at him like he just dropped from the sky. Her eyebrows were shooting up her forehead. "Seriously?" She wanted to look like she was making fun of him to hide the sudden hard bolts of her heart. Her thoughts ran back to the time Hiro asked her to dance in that party.
"I'll lead you," Takumi said reassuringly, seeing how her adorable face screamed, 'I can't dance!' She summoned all her insane courage to give in and take his hand. Takumi pulled her towards him. He guided her hands gently, putting her right hand on his shoulder and sliding his arm around her waist and lacing their remaining hands together in a firm but soft grip.
A slow, sweet rhythm of violin and flute mixed into the air. Misaki had no idea what she was doing but she hadn't step on his foot once, so she was probably doing it right. She didn't realize she was enjoying the moment until Takumi made her twirl around and she giggled like a two-year-old. He caught her again, pulling her closer than ever. The tip of their noses almost touched and their breathing mixed together. She could almost feel his heartbeat against her. Their eyes burned into each other like they were staring down at their souls.
The music continued to float around them invisibly. Misaki wondered where it was coming from. She took her eyes away from Takumi's to casually look for it. Is it coming from a music player? Or is it live? She wanted to know. But Takumi didn't allow her. He hooked his fingers under her chin and made her look back at him. He smirked when she pouted childishly.
Misaki let go of his hand and curled both her arms around his neck, startling him. Takumi locked her in his strong arms with a strong sense of protectiveness and passion and love and everything that made her love him even more.
They continued to dance into forever until the magical sound of the music faded away. They stayed inside their little bubble of happiness. Misaki rested her head on his chest with her eyes closed, memorizing the sound of his heart.
"Usui," she murmured.
"Hmm?" He hummed. She felt him squeezed her waist and she could feel his cheek lightly resting on top of her head. She pulled away slightly to look at his gorgeous, almost sleepy face.
"Will you remove my scarf? I can't breathe anymore," she chuckled weakly.
Takumi laughed wholeheartedly. He reached for the fabric and pulled. It easily unraveled, revealing a necklace that looked stunningly familiar. He stared at it like a fish out of water, his lips parted and his mind momentarily blank. It was the same white coral necklace he gave her five years ago. "You still have it," he finally said; shock evident his voice.
Misaki nodded with that oh-so sweet smile that never fail to make something inside him stir wonderfully.
Right then, he knew he wanted her for the rest of eternity. Takumi yanked her into the biggest, warmest hug she ever felt. He was hugging her so tightly her feet lifted off the ground. When he let her breathe, the idiot took her by surprise. He got down on his one knee and Misaki was so confused she could just stare at him incomprehensively.
"What are you doing?" she asked in a shaky whisper.
"Usui Misaki." He almost sung her names out of his mouth, making her knees turn to jellies. 'What is he doing?' Though she knew in her heart what he was doing, she couldn't understand it. Weren't they already married? Even so, the man in front of her awaken the most wonderful emotions inside her, seeing him kneeling before her, feeling the sincerity and love radiating off him… It was like falling in love with him all over again.
"You know, I always feel like I'm only a five-year-old boy," Takumi started with an easy smile. "Do you know why? Because I feel like my life just started when I met you five years ago. You and Junior made my world complete. You pulled my dream into reality and for that, I am forever grateful." He took something from his pocket. A small, velvet box and Misaki held her breath tightly as if releasing the air out of her lungs would make her fall on the ground.
He opened the box, revealing a silver band of ring with a gem embedded in the middle similar to the color of his eyes.
"Misaki," will you be the girl of my dream forever?" He asked with such convicted voice Misaki heard every word echoing inside her head for the longest time.
It was just a simple question. Mere question that even sounded silly. But for him, it was everything. Misaki was biting down her lip. Hard. Whether to cry or to laugh out loud, she didn't know. All she knew was her happiness was shooting upwards like fireworks. All she knew was her happiness was there, kneeling in front of her, spouting silly question that he already knew the answer.
Still, Takumi gazed at her, waiting for her to say something. His eyes were beautiful. His lips were pulled upwards to one side, making his infamous smirk.
Misaki's own lips pulled on a smirk and instead of answering, she took his hand, box and all, and tugged him towards her with a strength of her. Takumi was pleasantly surprised when she crashed her lips against his. He felt her smiling. He felt her gentle, little fingers weaving their way through his hair. He felt her undying love through her warm kiss. He felt home. Time stood still as they steadily fought each other in a deep kiss.
"I love you," Misaki mumbled against his lips when they pulled an inch apart when air became inevitable. Her chest raised and fall in sync with his. She didn't know she started crying until Takumi smiled and wiped her cheek. He managed to put the silver ring on her finger and placed a kiss on it. "I love you the most," he whispered back and caught her lips once again.

"Why don't you go upstairs and change?" Takumi suggested once they were inside their house.
Misaki sighed, her face was that of a bratty child. Takumi smiled at that. "Don't want to," she grumbled stubbornly. "Too tired. Can't walk."
"Want me carry you, princess?" He teased. But when Misaki grinned and held out her arms, Takumi was slightly taken aback. He expected her to turn red and punch him in the gut. He never thought she would actually agree to it. He shook his head in disbelief; this girl is always full of surprises. He slipped his strong arms under her legs and carried her like a bride up the stairs towards their room.
Misaki opened the door for them and Takumi carefully put her on the bed. "There you go, Your Highness," he said with a theatrical bow.
Misaki patted the bed, gesturing him to sit beside her. He obeyed his princess and did as she asked.
"What is it?" he asked softly, brushing away a loose tendril of raven hair from her face. She shook her head, briefly closing her eyes and feeling his warm fingers caressed her cheek. Without a word, she pulled her legs up and crawled behind him on the bed, kneeling so close to his back he could feel her breath down his neck. And then he felt her slightly cold fingers on his scalp through his hair.
"Misaki—"
"Shut up." With a quick order she shut him up. For a few minutes, she continued doing wonders on his scalp, his neck, all the way down his back, unknotting tensed muscles and making him involuntarily close his eyes. He sighed in absolute pleasure. Then her sinful little palms traced his shoulders, sliding down his chest; his breathing hitched ridiculously. Misaki put her chin on his shoulder, a hint of naughty smile on her face like a mischievous girl. She could sense the sudden eruption of his pulses and she seemed to be enjoying it. She toyed with the buttons of his shirt until his heart was beating against her hand nakedly. "Do you know what you're doing, little miss?" Takumi asked breathlessly, letting her draw random circles on his chest.
Misaki giggled uncharacteristically. He felt her body shook from behind. Takumi jolted in surprise when her hands came down to rest on his stomach, intertwining her fingers together. "Relax…" she whispered fascinatingly.
"Misaki, I—" His words disappeared from his tongue and turned into useless gurgle as Misaki bit his ear. Warmth spread through him when she flicked her tongue on the bite to soothe the sting.
"How can you make me want you so much like this, Takumi?" She murmured, nuzzling her face on his neck and making small open-mouth kisses. "What spell did you cast on me?"
Takumi smirked. In a fleeting glimpse, the tables have been turned; Misaki laid flat on her back with Takumi hovering over her. Both of his hands supporting his body on either side of her head. His eyes glinted dangerously with passion and love and so many more emotions. He was biting his lower lip seductively and with him half naked, Misaki didn't want to do anything but to pull him close and ravish those delicious-looking lips.
"Do you wanna know my magic spell?" he asked slyly.
"Very much," she groaned as she ached to touch his face and yank him to so she could kiss him senseless.
Takumi caught her hands before she could reached his cheeks and pinned it on the bed above her head. "The gem," he mumbled almost incoherently.
"Hmm?" she frowned confusedly. His every breath wafting on her face, making her dizzy with desire.
"It's Malachite gemstone." He slipped his fingers through hers and took it to his lips, kissing her knuckles earnestly. "The stone of dreams. It's also called 'the mirror of the soul'."
Misaki tried to listen to him carefully. "Mirror of the soul?" She asked practically avoiding her throbbing heart.
"Yes. It reaches the inner feelings of a person and reflects on it, positive or negative." He stated like he did research on it. "Well, it doesn't matter as I already know about your feelings."
"Oh. Interesting," she muttered under her breath, clearly uninterested. She was more focused on how lovely his lips moved as he spoke.
"There is another thing that this stone can do," he continued.
"Yeah?" She wanted to shut him up with an intense kiss but he kept her caged. He smiled. "It's also a strong protector of children."
Misaki paused. She blinked the haziness off her eyes and stared at him wide-eyed. She smiled, remembering what they've been through when Ichiro was kidnapped. It was the first time she saw Takumi's eyes rimmed with fear.
"That so sweet of you," she said sincerely. "I can understand." She gave a genuine smile.
"Nope. I bet you didn't" His grip tightened as he grinned like a madman. "I said children,"He leaned even closer, their noses touching. "I have a promise to fulfil."
The way he said it sent an ice cube down her spine. She turned the redder than possible and felt like her cheeks were burning. Takumi smirked his annoying smirk and suddenly, she wanted to kick him.
"No, you're wrong, Usui Takumi," she smirked back. "We are going to fulfill the promise."
Misaki managed to wriggle out of his grasps and hooked her arms around his neck. She pulled him down with such urgency it knocked the air out of Takumi. Their lips crushed together. Her hands dug deep into his blonde locks as her tongue fought with his. Between ragged breaths and desperate hands, Takumi managed to take her clothes off without ripping it to pieces. Misaki gasped for air as she fumbled with his belt and soon enough, they were properly undressed for love-making and for fulfilling the goddamn promise.
