Days drug on, every few days Kala would be off on a date with Henry. Eventually, they began exploring the thoughts of a true relationship. Henry glanced up at Kala from his dinner. "Will you be staying in England?"

"I'm not sure. I miss my friends in Africa, and Father has responsibilities to return to. Mother doesn't really care either way. I suppose the major factor would be me."

"Why would that be?"

"Well there is a young man who is effecting my decision."

"May I ask who?"

"You. I'm not sure what to do."

"Well, what are your options?"

"I can stay while my family goes back to Africa. You can come with us back to Africa. I can go home and we forget each other exist. Or we all stay here. The latter in a way can't happen because, as I said, Father has responsibilities."

"I can't imagine forgetting the last few weeks. And I would certainly hate breaking up a family so tightly knit."

"But don't you have family here? I wouldn't want to take you away from them."

"Kala, my parents both died a couple years ago. You are my priority now."

"Are you sure you want to go? The jungle can be very dangerous to the inexperienced outsider."

"I'm positive."

The next time Henry was at the Porter home, Kala called a family meeting. "Henry and I have made a decision. Henry wishes to come to Africa with us."

"Well that's great sweetheart. I think with that news, I'll go down to the dock to see when the next ship will arrive that can take us home." Jane glanced at the expression coming over her husband's face. It was a strange mix of happy and hurt that she had recognized from her own father. "Kala, why don't you accompany me? I think your father and Henry have some talking to do."

The girls left on their quest, leaving the men to their business. Henry was the first to innocently speak. "So am I correct in assuming that you're not the happiest on our decision?"

Tarzan nodded. "You have to understand how I feel. Ever since you and Kala fell asleep on the couch, I have felt like I am losing my little girl."

"And you're not quite ready to let her go yet. I can understand that."

"So you probably know what's coming next. Hurt her and you get to see me and her brother angry. He is just like a younger version of me, very impulsive and acts on instinct. It may not seem like he cares, but he will protect Kala at all costs. Back home, that jungle is full of friends of ours. They can be just as protective."

"I understand and have no intention to hurt your daughter. I understand that coming back will be very difficult. I'm content with my decision."

"Alright. You were warned. But if you ever want to be considered my family, you'll have to prove yourself as I did."

"Challenge accepted."
