NMNT Season 3 Chapter 7: Nobody
-The Lair-
"Hiyah!"
"Kiyah"
"Kiyah!"
"Hiyah!"
Echoes were heard across the lair as the five brothers practiced their forms and stances in the central part of the lair (which is the room the underwater access entrance is located)
"Good," said Splinter, "Now: Shūdo!"
"Kiyah!"
"Back fist strike!" Splinter commanded.
"Kiyah!"
"Front snap kick!"
"Hiyah!"
"Upper rising block!"
"Hiyah!"
"Double kick counter!"
"Kiyah! Kiyah!"
"Again!"
"Kiyah! Kiyah!"
"And finished," Splinter called out as he hit the bottom of his cane to the floor (the strike echoing throughout the lair). The brothers then took a standing position and bowed to their father.
"Training has concluded for tonight," said Splinter, "We will resume your lessons in the morning." As he left the central room, retired to his bedroom and was out of sight the five all collectively groaned in exhaustion as the fell to the floor.
"Okay," Donatello groaned, "I can't move."
"Who wants to move?" Raphael asked rhetorically.
"Even Kurama is going to have a hard time helping me recover from that," said Naruto.
"Ugh, wake me for breakfast," said Michelangelo.
"Note to self: buy Mikey some new deodorant," said Leonardo.
Mikey then picked himself up and said, "My type of relaxation is beating the next level of Castle Crashers." The thought alone made him start to giggle as he ran towards the entertainment center to play the aforementioned video game, only to find the controllers missing.
"Where the hell did the wireless controllers go?" Mikey asked as he started to pull the couch apart, "I know Naruto left them right here." Just as he put the couch back together and started to look elsewhere, the game console and TV were turned on and the Castle Crashers title screen appeared on the TV screen. Mikey looked over and saw Raph, Don and Leo sitting on the couch; each of them was holding a controller.
"Wait, wait, wait," Mikey protested as he stood in front of the TV that was on, "Obviously you've forgotten one very important rule about video games: I ALWAYS play."
"Yeah, and that's the problem Mikey, you've been hoggin' it for the past three weeks now," said Raph.
"It's our turn," said Leo, "We'll call you when there's an opening."
"In about ten years," said Don.
"Now move your shell," the three commanded.
"Naruto," Mikey whined as he ran towards his brother and grabbed him by his orange robe, "Can't ya do something about this?"
"Sorry Mikey," Naruto replied, "it may be my collection, but it was meant to be shared."
"Aww," Mikey groaned as he let go.
"Come on," said Naruto, "let's head up to the surface, the night air might clear your head."
Mikey just went, "Humph," and pouted.
"We'll do it in costume," Naruto said in a sing-song voice.
-New York City, the roof tops: Night-
"Turtle-Titan and Ninjor away!" the two brothers, who were now donning their respective superhero costumes, yelled as they slid down an angled steel girder using one of Mikey's Nun-Chucks onto a roof top. They panted a bit from the adrenaline rush as they faced each other.
"Don't tell me that wasn't fun," said Naruto.
"Are you kidding me, that was awesome," said Mikey as he slowly turned his head to the right, "Kinda like Level 2 of-huh?"
"What is it?" Naruto asked as he looked in the direction Mikey was looking; there high on another rooftop was a mysterious figure with a black cape and a black cloth face-concealing mask which only had eye holes and was cloaked from head to toe in black (except for his hands and feet, the gloves and boots were red).
"Cape, mask, dark and brooding presence, gotta be a superhero," said Mikey.
The mysterious figure then leapt off the rooftop and began running on the side of the building with the assistance of a steel cable (imagine how Batman and Robin went up buildings in the 1960's Batman tv show. Only instead of using hands as a guide, the cable is tied on the waist).
"Or maybe some nut-job, come on," said Naruto as the two leapt off their roof top on a series of ladders on the fire escape.
Meanwhile, the figure reached the sidewalk and the cable attached to his waist retracted into his left arm. The figure then saw an incoming truck with the letter 'K' printed on the trailer. Just as the truck passed by him, the figure then fired the steel cable from his left arm (which had a hooked spearhead at the front) which then attached itself to a sign on a nearby hotel. He then retracted the cable a bit, making him swing through the night air. Just then, Naruto and Mikey stepped out of a nearby alley.
"It looks like he's chasing that truck," said Naruto.
"And doing it with some style I might add," said Mikey, "remind you of anyone? A dark avenger on a quest for justice?"
"Not really," Naruto replied as he and Mikey ran after the figure.
Meanwhile, up ahead, the figure landed on top of a car that was driving behind the truck. At the same time, the people inside the cab of the truck (who were Purple Dragon gang members) noticed the figure.
"Goddamn it, it looks like we're bein' followed by some douche-bag in a cape," said the driver as he looked through the left-side rear-view mirror.
"Not for long we ain't," said the second gang member as he brandished a machine gun. The driver then swerved the truck over one driving lane as the second gang member opened fire on the car and figure behind him.
The car then swayed and swerved between both driving lanes as the driver of the car tried to avoid the machine gun bullets. The figure then fired his steel cable in the air and swung away just as the car spun out of control and came to a stop.
Meanwhile Naruto and Mikey, who were still following the figure after witnessing what had just happened, leapt from shadow to shadow.
"You sure he doesn't remind you of anyone?" Mikey asked.
"I'm getting one, but why don't you explain some more," Naruto replied.
"Concealed identity, casting his shadow over the city he has sworn to protect, relentless in his single-minded pursuit of dangerous villains?" Mikey asked.
"Batman?" Naruto asked.
"No, I'm talking about me, the one and only Turtle Titan," Mikey replied.
Naruto chuckled as he said, "Mikey, the only reason you're relentless is because you have me by your side."
"Hey," said Mikey, "I thought it was obvious."
Meanwhile, up ahead, the two Purple Dragons continued to drive the truck. The driver then looked at the left-side rear-view mirror and saw the figure leaping from roof top to roof top.
"Shit, there he is again," he exclaimed.
"Well, let's kill him then!" said the second gang member. And the driver turned the truck 180 degrees and drove towards the mysterious figure before turning sharply into an alley. The figure saw this and continued to pursue.
Not too far behind, Mikey and Naruto continued to follow the mysterious figure in the alley, stopping in their tracks in order to do so.
"Where did he go?" Naruto asked. Before am answer was found, however, the truck driven by the Purple Dragons was heading straight for them (amazing they turned the rather large vehicle around in record time).
"What the fuck are those freaks," the driver exclaimed, "his sidekicks or somethin'?!"
"Who the hell cares?" the second gang member replied as he loaded another magazine into his machine-gun, "we'll kill em' both!" And the second gang member stuck his torso out the window and opened fire on the two brothers. But before any bullets could hit the two, they were saved by the mysterious figure, who had swung down and grabbed them both (but consequently, he got hit with a couple of bullets). The truck then proceeded to speed away as the figure let go of the costumed brothers.
"Whoa," said Mikey, "he just saved our lives." The figure then came down and met them both, clutching his abdomen in slight discomfort.
"Ugh," he groaned.
"Hey, you okay?" Naruto asked.
"Yes," grunted the figure (who definitely had a male voice), "my body armor absorbed the impact of those shots while deflecting them in the process."
"Why did you risk your life like that?" Naruto asked, "we're complete strangers."
"Because it wasn't your fight," said the figure.
"And that truck?" Mikey asked.
"I need to know where it's going," said the figure (with discomfort present in his tone).
"Is it that important?" Naruto asked.
"Right now, following that truck means everything to me," said the figure. And he ran past the two brothers in fast pursuit of the truck.
"Hey!" Mikey called out as the figure prepared to swing into the night, "wanna have some back-up?"
"No thanks," replied the figure, "besides, this is personal." And he fired the cable from his right hand and swung away into the night. Mikey and Naruto just stared in slight amazement.
"Tell me we're gonna follow him," said Mikey.
Naruto smiled inside his face-concealing helmet and replied, "I'd be insulted if you didn't."
-New York City Docks: Night-
The night air was cloudless as the truck with the letter 'K' approached a gated entrance that led to a big warehouse. One giant spot light shone light in all different directions as the gang members presented some papers while the guards inspected the truck.
"You check the back, I'll check the top," said a guard to his partner.
Up on the top of the trailer, the figure silently and stealthily leapt off just as the guard did his inspections.
"All clear!" the first guard exclaimed.
"You can go through," said the second as he opened the gates. As the truck passed inside, the garage door to the warehouse opened and the truck drove inside.
Meanwhile, the mysterious figure lurked in the shadows as he snuck around the fence that surrounded the warehouse premises, stealthily dodging every beam of light that shone his way (whether it came from a security guard or a spotlight). He then saw a black car go through the gate and into the warehouse. The mysterious figure then leapt over the tall fence.
Meanwhile, inside the warehouse, the car's engine was turned off as Hun stepped out.
"You're early," said a voice in the shadows.
"You're late," Hun retorted angrily, "our barge has been at the docks all day and it's only half loaded. I need to know why."
"Some costumed vigilante has been nosing around my plant," replied a brown haired fairly muscular white man (who wore glasses, black shoes, blue jeans, a light-blue shirt with a black tie and a dark-blue sweater-vest over the shirt) as he stepped out of the shadows, "I've had to take precautions."
Meanwhile, up on the roof of the warehouse, the mysterious figure listened in on the conversation.
"Ruffington," growled the figure.
Suddenly a voice spoke from behind him. "End of the line for you dipshit." The figure turned around and saw four guards pointing machine guns at him. But before anything could happen, Turtle Titan and three Ninjors rained down from the sky and promptly knocked out the armed guards.
The figure then picked up two machine guns and aimed at the two brothers.
"Wait, don't shoot! We're not here to fight," Naruto hastily said as his two clones dispelled themselves.
"Not that I don't appreciate the assist, but what are you two doing here?" the figure asked as he tossed aside the weapons (not even remotely curious about how the two Ninjors disappeared).
"We followed you here, plus we never properly introduced ourselves," said Naruto.
Mikey then started to introduce himself rather quickly as he said, "Since you obviously roam the city at night, you've probably heard of another superhero. Most villains in this city know me as the Turtle Titan!" And he put his fists at his hips as he stood tall and proud.
Naruto then said, "And I am his faithful partner (but NOT sidekick) Ninjor!" And he stood tall and proud with his arms crossed and over his chest as he and Mikey stood back to back while looking at the mysterious figure.
"Sorry," said the figure, "but I've never heard of you two."
Mikey and Naruto were slightly dejected but quickly put their feelings aside as Mikey asked, "So what's your name."
"You can call me Nobody," said the figure, now known as Nobody, as he went back to listening in on the conversation with the brothers joining him.
"Can you handle this problem or not?" Hun asked, "we are not going to tolerate any more delays. You had damn well better get your shit together Ruffington."
"It's Hun," said the two brothers.
"Stop clenching your ass so tight," said the man, now known as Ruffington, "the other shipments will be here soon."
Hun growled as he went back into the black car. "You have until dawn to finish loading our barge," he said, "do not disappoint us or there will be hell to pay."
" *Humph*, tight-ass shit head," Ruffington remarked as the black car exited the warehouse.
"If Hun's involved," Mikey started to say.
"Then the Shredder is too," Naruto finished.
"The Shredder?" Nobody asked.
"Oroku Saki, the current 'savior' of New York," Naruto answered.
"So who's the asshole in the vest?" Mikey asked.
"His name is Ruffington," Nobady answered, "and he and I go way back, back when I used to be a New York City detective."
-Flashback-
At an NYPD police office, a Detective (who shall be referred to as Nobody) and his female Captain were arguing inside her office.
"He claims that you're still riding his ass and harassing him," said the female captain.
"Ruffington is dirty, you KNOW he is!" Nobody argued.
"He's also powerful," the female captain retorted while Nobody ground his teeth in anger, "you don't get to be the government's leading weapons supplier without making a few friends."
"And he's selling those fucking weapons on the black market!" Nobody shouted, "Let me prove it!"
"Too late, he's already hung you and left you to die," said the female captain as she pulled out a newspaper that would be printed in two days, "the Police Chief called to tell me that as of today, you are off the streets and reassigned to the archives and that there is nothing that I can say or do to bring you back."
She then laid the newspaper out on her desk and Nobody read the headline aloud, "Overzealous Cop Reprimanded?!"
"Say goodbye to the man who flushed your career down the drain," said the female captain, "I'm sorry."
Nobody growled angrily as he took out his gun and badge and slammed them onto the captain's desk before leaving and slamming the door angrily.
-Flashback end-
"But it wasn't enough that he got me off the streets, he also had to ruin my life and destroy my reputation and honor to the point where I might as well be nobody," he continued, "I intend to get it all back."
"Count us in," said Naruto.
-Inside the Warehouse-
The Purple Dragons and Ruffington's goons were busily loading crates as the group of three lowered themselves silently. They then hid behind some crates as Nobody opened one and revealed its contents (or rather, one enormous weapon laying upon some straw).
"What the hell is this thing?" he asked as he picked it up.
"It's a Triceraton cannon," Mikey answered.
"And it looks like your pal made a few modifications to it," said Naruto.
"And he's selling these on the street?" Nobody asked incredulously, "how difficult is it to operate?"
"Easy," said Mikey as he reached for the weapon and prepared to demonstrate, "all you do is-."
But before he could finish his sentence, he pushed the trigger which fired and enormous green laser at a wall, completely disintegrating it.
On the other side, Ruffington was making plans when the wall to his right disintegrated and revealed the three heroes.
"What the hell is up with these goddamn costumed freaks around here?!" he shouted, "Kill them!"
Complying with the order, every goon and Purple Dragon took out a machine gun and opened fire on the three heroes, which forced them to take further cover.
-Oroku Saki's Headquarters, the Rooftop Pagoda: Oroku Saki's/the Shredder's throne/training room-
In the refashioned throne room, Oroku Saki, who was back to wearing his traditional Japanese robes with the Foot Symbol, stood in front of several dark monitors as Hun entered the room along with Baxter Stockman (who once again has a new look. He is still a brain, spinal cord and lone eye ball inside the cylindrical blue-fluid filled container that can hover. This time though, he has left and right robotic arms with hands that have three fingers and there is a holographic projection of his face on top of the container).
"You wish to see me master?" Hun asked.
"Hun," said Oroku Saki as he faced his two henchmen with a slight scowl of annoyance, "What is happening with your mission?"
"Uh," Hun started to say, "Ruffigton is using a warehouse to store the weapons until they're loaded onto our barge and..."
"Silence!" Oroku Saki commanded as he held up a hand as a gesture to cut short Hun's explanation before lowering his hand and continuing, "this matter is completely out of control. Stockman has already tapped into Ruffington's security system."
"Oh has he?" Hun asked in a suspicious/accusing tone as he looked at Stockman.
"Well you know me," said Stockman as he hovered over to a control console in Oroku Saki's desk and pushed some buttons, "Always happy to lend a hand."
Just then the monitors showed the battle raging inside the warehouse. Hun's eyes widened at the sight of the costumed brothers.
"Those freaks?!" he asked incredulously.
"I do not tolerate failure," Oroku Saki warned in a threatening tone.
"I'm on it sir," Hum replied as he whipped out a cell phone and dialed a number.
"I have a job for you two," he said, "Prime Fishery Warehouse. I'll meet you-."
"No," Saki interrupted as he swatted the cell phone out of Hun's hands, "You will stay here and you better hope it goes well."
-The Warehouse-
The one sided gun battle raged inside. The two brothers and Nobody wordlessly agree to split up (Nobody staying where the fight first started), concentrating to separate the gun fire into three small groups.
With Nobody, he pointed the Triceraton cannon to the wall and fired a continuous laser beam which started to rapidly disintegrate the entire wall. Every gang member and goon (including Ruffington himself) proceeded to flee from their impending death.
"Ruffington!" Nobody (who is still) shouted angrily as he tossed aside the weapon.
Outside the warehouse, Ruffington and his apparent right-hand man were running towards the docks.
"Get my helicopter ready," Ruffington said to his right-hand man.
Back inside, two Purple Dragons prepared to shoot Nobody from behind. Presently they were interrupted by someone tapping on their shoulders. They turned around and saw a grinning Mikey.
"Lights out boys," he said as he banged their heads together and knocked them out.
"No thanks necessary," he said to Nobody, only he wasn't where he stood.
"So that's what that feels like," he said.
"Uh Mikey, we have a situation here," Naruto called out from outside the warehouse. Mikey quickly responded and in no time he was by his brother's side.
"What's wrong," he asked.
"That," said Naruto as he pointed to Mr. Touch and Mr. Go.
"The riff-raff one finds at the docks eh' Mr. Touch," said Mr. Go.
"Indeed Mr. Go," said Mr. Touch as the two bumped fists once again.
"And the plot thins," said Naruto.
"Ah, I so missed your subtle wit," said Mr. Go, "Mr. Touch, if you would be so kind to show our adversaries something special."
"It would be my pleasure Mr. Go," said Mr. Touch as he walked over towards some wooden row boats (which makes me question why wooden row boats are needed in a river that requires a motor boat to get you where you need to be, but whatever) picked one up and threw it fast and hard at the two brothers. The two managed to duck down in time as the boat splintered everywhere as it hit a section of the wall behind them.
"Impressive Mr. Touch, but I don't think they got the point," said Mr. Go.
Mr. Go then threw another boat and the brothers barely managed to dodge it yet again.
"Smashing sentiment Mr. Touch, but maybe just a bit too impulsive, allow me," said Mr. Go as he threw a boat right at the two who again managed to barely dodge it.
"If all you're going to do is talk, then I seriously don't see the point in Hun hiring you again," said Naruto.
"I concur, why don't we talk with our strength, speed and fists," said Mr. Go. And the two opposing forces charged right at each other.
-With Nobody-
The vigilante ran towards the helicopter pad.
"Ruffington!" he shouted as the helicopter proceeded to take off, "You won't escape me that easily you piece of shit!"
Ruffington responded by firing two missiles from the helicopter. Nobody, thinking fast, fired the steel cable from his left arm (which had a hooked spearhead at the front), latched himself onto the arm of a crane, and flew up as Ruffington fired several more missiles. Nobody then detached the steel cable from the crane arm and dropped down to avoid the other incoming missiles.
Ruffington then proceeded to fly away, but not before Nobody grabbed a heavy docking chain with a grappling hook attached to it and threw it at the helicopter which attached itself to one of the landing arms. Nobody then grabbed onto the chain and proceeded to climb up it as the helicopter rose into the air.
-With the Brothers-
Naruto currently was butting heads with Mr. Touch as he punched and kicked his face several times before grabbing his shirt and throwing him into several wooden crates of Triceraton cannons which exploded upon impact.
As he struggled to get up from the wreckage, he called out to Mr. Go and said, "I need a recharge Mr. Go."
Nearby, his partner was about to call out but was interrupted as Mikey kicked him into a pile of wooden boats.
"Mr. Touch, once again you have read my mind," said Mr. Go as he got out from his wreckage.
Just then, Ruffington's helicopter flew over the battle. Inside, he struggled for control just as Nobody entered the cockpit. The hero grabbed Ruffington by his shoulders and threw him out of the pilot's chair.
"This ends tonight Ruffington!" Nobody exclaimed angrily.
"Who the hell are you?" Ruffington asked.
"A guy whose life you destroyed," Nobody simply replied.
"Do you have any idea how little that narrows it down?" Ruffington asked in annoyance.
"Too bad that's all you're going to get," Nobody replied, "because thanks to the politicians in your pocket, I'm Nobody."
"Then you won't be missed," Ruffington retorted angrily as he and Nobody exchanged punches while the helicopter spun out of control.
On the ground, Mr. Touch and Mr. Go crawled on the ground with great difficulty as they tried to bump fists. But of course, Naruto and Mikey (who before were just toying around with the villains) calmly walked up to the two and stepped on their backs to stop them from going any further.
"Mikey, what do you say to the idea of ending this now?" Naruto asked as he picked up Mr. Touch.
"I'd say you just read my mind," said Mikey as he picked up Mr. Go.
The brothers then threw the two villains high in the air and shouted, "Flying Double Kick Counter!" And the two sent the villains falling into the river with a mighty splash.
"That's game!" Naruto and Mikey said at the same time as they congratulated themselves with a high five.
Meanwhile, the helicopter was still spinning out of control as Nobody gave Ruffigton the ultimate knock-out punch straight at his abdomen. The wind was knocked out of Ruffington as he hit a wall. Nobody then picked up Ruffington and leapt out of the helicopter and into the river just as it hit the ground. He then swam back to the docks, climbed up a ladder while carrying Ruffington's body and hand cuffed him to a steel support beam on the crane.
"See you in hell Ruffington," said Nobody, "you won't be able to buy your way out of this one."
-Oroku Saki's Headquarters, the Rooftop Pagoda: Oroku Saki's/the Shredder's throne/training room-
Much later, Oroku Saki and Hun were viewing the security cameras as fire trucks and police cars filled the area. Saki slowly turned around and angrily looked at Hun, who gulped nervously. Saki then yelled in anger as he raised his fists and slammed them down on his control console/desk and smashed it into splinters. He then walked past Hun and exited the room.
-The Docks, Daybreak-
While the police carted away Ruffington, Mikey and Naruto peered at their handiwork from inside a sewer while Nobody looked from atop the crane arm. The three heroes then slipped silently away.
-The Lair-
The three brothers were intensely into the game as they all pushed buttons and waved their arms furiously in all directions.
"Come on get him!" Raph shouted.
"Well I told you to wait for me," said Don.
"Hang on guys, I just got my health back!" Leo shouted.
Just then an enormous explosion killed their game avatars in an instant and an enormous 'Game Over!' title flashed.
"God dammit," the three exclaimed. Leo then turned off the TV screen.
"We were so close," said Don.
"Yet so far," said Leo.
Raph yawned and said, "Let's call it a night guys; I'm going to bed."
"Us too," said Leo and Don as the three set down their controllers.
Just then, the pod doors opened as Mikey and Naruto (who were not in costume) entered the lair.
"Hey guys," Naruto yawned.
"Hey, we were just about to turn in," said Leo.
"Good idea," Mikey yawned, "wake me for breakfast."
"Two days from now," Naruto said as he stretched his arms.
Just then a well-rested Splinter exited from his room. He yawned and stretched his arms.
"Oh good my sons, you are up," he said happily and with a smile, "now that you have rested, let us resume our work-out."
All five brothers stood there with their jaws wide-open in disbelief.
"Positions please," said Splinter.
"Aww mmmaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnn!" the brothers groaned.
The Months of November and December are hard times to write if you are a writer in the United States. So please forgive me for these long updates. The Holidays are just a tough time to get any writing done. It doesn't help that there are also College finals.
So please, give a review.
