NMNT Season 3 Chapter 14: Naruto's Gambit
-New York City, Night-
It was a dark and stormy night (again*), and all around the city thunder claps echoed loudly, lightning cackled and rain poured down hard. Presently there was an even louder sound that if you were not looking up, you would most likely attribute it to the thunder. This, however, was not the case as a large, black, twin-bladed helicopter landed on a seemingly random rooftop (not an easy feat considering how dense the city's buildings are). From its underside, the machine dropped a fairly large cylindrical device before taking off towards the blackened skies.
Meanwhile down below on the streets, a large black armored van sped out of an alley-way and parked near a manhole cover. As it did, a group of three men dressed head to toe in black stepped out of the vehicle and proceeded to remove the cover with ease where they then dumped some small black cylinders into the rushing water below before covering the manhole back up.
-The Lair-
In the lair, Master Splinter and the five brothers were all sitting cross-legged in a circle where the rat was giving a lesson.
"We have faced many adversaries, we have fought many battles," he said, "and we have been victorious, but do we know why?"
"Because we're just that awesome," Michelangelo answered with a smile, an answer that Splinter responded with a quick whack to his son's head.
He then cleared his throat and said, "We have survived these tests by following the path of ninjutsu and by finding and using?"
Leonardo pondered for a moment before answering, "Our inner strength?"
Splinter smiled as he replied, "Yes Leonardo, only by focusing our inner strength can we overcome our enemies." And he looked towards Naruto (as his face read 'Take the hint').
"What," Naruto defensively, "do you know how long it took Pervy Sage to master Sage Jutsu Chakra? Sure, I got one or two bugs to work out but I practically got the hang of it."
"We shall see Naruto," Splinter replied as he turned his attention to Mikey who was focusing on something that was happening towards his left.
"Michelangelo, pay attention," Splinter said sharply.
"Sorry Sensei, but I think you need to look at this," Mikey replied. Everyone else in the group then looked over to where Mikey was staring at and saw the small black cylinders moving about in the underwater access-way pool.
"What the shell are those things?" Donatello wondered.
-New York City Streets-
A convoy of black armored vans cruised down the streets.
"Ground Force to Night Sky: The Packages have been delivered," someone called out on their radio in the lead car.
"Roger Ground Force," said a person on the helicopter above, "Stand by."
Inside the helicopter at its control console, Agent Bishop was carefully watching the fairly large computer screen as the henchman who was at the controls typed in the necessary commands. Just then the screen changed into a map with glowing red dots.
"Proceed," Bishop said in an emotionless tone.
-The Random Rooftop-
The cylindrical device opened up on the top and bottom and began to blink little red lights. At the same time, the top and bottom pieces began to twirl and emit a strange sound.
-The Sewers-
The strange sound was then amplified by the small black cylinders. All the rats in the sewers then began to cry out in pain, some even began to writhe in agony. They then began to flee from the pain-inducing noise as fast as their little legs could carry them.
-Leatherhead's Domain-
Inside the abandoned subway station, Leatherhead was busily building Professor Honeycutt a new robot body. Just as the giant crocodile was welding the left wrist to a joint, the two heard the noise and saw a large group of rats scurrying away onto the abandoned subway tracks.
"I say, whatever is that peculiar noise?" Professor Honeycutt asked.
"I do not know," Leatherhead replied as he winced a bit, "But it is making it difficult to concentrate."
-New York City Streets-
Outside in the pouring rain, the rats that managed to climb out using the drains all began to run away from the noise hoping to get out of its reach.
-The Lair-
(Jeez, we're going all over the place aren't we?)
Back in the lair, Splinter suddenly groaned in great pain as he held his head with both hands.
"Master Splinter!" the brothers cried.
"Don, what's the matter with him?!" Leo asked with a slight trace of panic in his voice.
"It's these," Don quickly deduced as he picked up one of the small black cylinders.
"The sound," Splinter groaned, "I...cannot..block it...out." He then became limp and began to fall only to be held up by Naruto.
-Outside the Abandoned Garage-
Outside the abandoned garage, everything appeared as calm as it could get when suddenly the Battle Shell crashed through the metal door and made its way onto the streets.
(Inside the Battle Shell everyone's positions are as follows: Naruto is in the driver's seat, Raph is in the passenger seat, and Don, Mikey and Leo are huddled around Splinter, who is sitting in control console swivel chair).
"Man," said Raphael, "I'm hearing it out here too."
Don looked out a window and saw people just walking about as if nothing was wrong (if a bit mystified as to what the noise was all about) before being alarmed at the sight of large groups of rats. He then said, "There seems to be some kind of sonic disruption throughout the entire city and though it doesn't appear to bother humans, it's clearly targeted to other species."
"Like rats," said Leo.
Meanwhile, high above in the sky, the henchman at the control console in the large twin-bladed helicopter said, "Beginning sweep for mobile mutant heat signatures."
The screen in front of him then began to narrow down the exact location of Bishop's targets.
"Right there sir," said the henchman as the target heat signatures showed up, "looks like our target."
"Intercept them," said Bishop.
"Night Sky to Ground Force," said the henchman, "Operation Mousetrap is a go. I repeat: Mouse Trap is a go."
Down below on the streets, two armored vehicles suddenly blocked the Battle Shell's path.
Naruto, immediately noticing what was about to happen, slammed on the brakes as he made a hard left into an alley way. The vehicle swayed and swerved into garbage bags and garbage cans as he fought for control while making a left hand turn back onto the streets.
Just then, two small, black helicopters swooped down towards the green vehicle. The two copters then each fired one missile at their moving target.
"We got missiles incoming!" Mikey exclaimed.
"I see them, I see them!" Naruto replied as he made a sharp U-Turn in the opposite direction. The first missile then hit a blue street-corner mail box while the second one hit a newspaper and magazine stand.
The first helicopter then fired one more missile, this time it hit the intended target.
Inside the Battle Shell, everyone (sans Naruto and Splinter) stared at the red cone part of the missile as it opened up and dropped little metal balls.
"What are those things?!" Mikey asked in a panicked tone.
"I don't know," Don answered in an equally panicked tone.
Just then the little metal balls began to release a gas which made everyone start to cough and wheeze. This, in turn, made Naruto accidentally make a sharp turn into a parking lot of an abandoned warehouse which made the Battle Shell flip over on one side and skid across the parking lot until friction stopped it. Just as quickly as it stopped, some black armored vans came racing in and stopped just in front of the Battle Shell's back doors where three men dressed completely in black stepped out. Two of them forced the back doors open while the third reached in and grabbed Splinter who, like everyone else that was inside the Battle Shell, was knocked out from the gas.
An apparent commander (and I only say this because he's not wearing a mask) stepped out of another armored van and pressed a button on his radio headset.
"Target acquired sir," he said as they loaded Splinter into a van.
"And what about the others," Bishop asked.
"Neutralized sir; your orders?"
"Kill them."
The commander then looked to his team (which consisted of only five people). "You heard the man, no survivors," he said. The team then prepared to storm the Battle Shell when suddenly Leo attacked them with a flying kick as he leapt out of the Battle Shell and sliced the enemy's guns in half, causing them to explode in their faces which then made them fall down to the ground hard.
The commander was then about to radio for help when he was thrown (or rather kicked) into the air courtesy of Raph, Don and Mikey who were all sliding on their backs.
(As they said)
"Straight from," said Raph.
"Naruto's," Don continued.
"Ninja Handbook!" Mikey finished.
As the commander flew high into the air, he was swiftly kicked to the head courtesy of Leo as he sent him flying back towards the ground.
"Naruto Uzumaki Barrage!" Leo shouted.
-Five Minutes Later-
As the turtles tied up their knocked out enemies on a nearby telephone pole (after taking the necessary precautions), they then surveyed their situation.
"Damn it, it wasn't supposed to happen like this," Leo said.
"At least we know who took him; those were Bishop's flunky commandoes," said Raph.
"We're just lucky they didn't get a chance to thoroughly inspect the front end of the Battle Shell," said Don.
Indeed, as they peered inside they confirmed that Naruto's shadow clone had dispelled as the vehicle hit the ground hard.
-Flashback-
"The sound," Splinter groaned, "I...cannot..block it...out." He then became limp and began to fall only to be held up by Naruto. The blonde ninja then reached into his ninja tool pouch, pulled out two tags with the phrase:沈黙(silence) written on each tag, and placed them on Splinter's right and left ears respectively. He then quickly formed the tiger seal hand-sign and activated the two tags.
Splinter then showed signs of being in less pain, though he was still knocked out due to the noise.
"Now we find out who's behind all this," he said as he conjured up one shadow clone.
"Wait, you're not thinking of doing," Leo began to say before being interrupted by Naruto's transformation into Splinter.
Naruto-Splinter then picked up Splinter's limp body and said (mimicking Splinter's voice to a T), "First let's get him over to Leatherhead's before heading up. If we're lucky, we'll be able to find out who wants him without kicking anyone's butt."
"By following them back to their hideout," said Don.
"Yeah," said Naruto-Splinter.
"But what if it doesn't work? What if you get captured?" Leo asked.
"Then we'll cross that bridge when we get to it," Naruto-Splinter replied.
-Flashback End-
"So what do we do now Donny?" Mikey asked, "If we know Bishop, he's gonna cut him up all in all kinds of crazy ways."
"Give me a sec," Don answered as he pondered for a brief moment.
"Okay," he said, "I have an idea, but we'll need to head back to Leatherhead's place."
They all gulped nervously.
-Leatherhead's Domain-
As the gang approached the entrance, they could hear voices arguing. They then walked in cautiously.
"Leatherhead, I insist you let me leave."
"Master Splinter, I do not want to harm you but Naruto instructed me that you must remain here until his return."
The rat and the crocodile then noticed the ninja brothers walk in.
"My sons, what is going on? And where is Naruto?" Splinter demanded to know.
"Uhh," was the collective response.
"Well, you see sensei, he...kinda got kidnapped by Bishop," Mikey answered sheepishly.
"What?!" Splinter exclaimed.
"Master, we don't have much time. We need to pick apart Bishop's subway car," said Don.
"How's that going to help us?" Raph asked. "We only got half of it."
"Do you have any better ideas? Besides, it's our only chance," Don replied.
"Well, we're also lucky about one more thing," Leo said, "The gas that they used seemed to be non-lethal."
"Which seems to indicate," said Professor Honeycutt as he came into view (complete with a brand-new homemade robot body**), "That whoever wanted to abduct your master, wanted him alive."
"Whoa," said Mikey, "New threads Professor Honeycutt?"
"Yes; though segments of my memory were purged, we recovered blue-prints for my S.A.L 1000 robot body," the professor replied, "Although, using Earth technology makes it seem rather homemade."
"Guys, we have to focus," said Don as he led everyone toward the captured subway car, "let's take this thing apart and find some answers."
-A few minutes later-
After a few minutes of everyone picking apart what they could pick apart (be it console panels, computer monitors, anything) Don then took out a laptop and hard-wired it into the subway car's computer's mainframe. As he clicked away at the keyboard, a small frown formed on his face.
"I can't seem to hack into the system," he said, "a lot of this seems to be Federation and Triceraton tech."
"As well as other alien technology I am unable to classify," said the professor as he looked at a control console before setting it down as he and Leatherhead walked over to where Don was, "Your Agent Bishop seems to get around for an Earthling."
Leatherhead then noticed something on Don's laptop monitor as he pointed it out, "Wait, there; an automatic recall layered into the train car's sub-circuitry.
"Hmm," pondered the professor, "if we re-activate it, then the recall signal should be triggered."
"And if we're on board," Don said happily, "it'll take us right to Bishop's location.
-Bishop's Secret Lab-
As Naruto-Splinter slowly opened his eyes (as coming out of a meditative state), he was greeted by a sight of many large, green fluid filled cylindrical containers (each and every one of them contained something sinister and grave looking human beings). He also saw that he was strapped to a lab table in addition to also seeing two large hooks attached to heavy chains that were attached to a moving mechanism that suspended them in the air and a very large computer monitor and control console that stood in front of him.
"Good," Bishop said as he stepped out from the shadows (his voice echoed everywhere in the large room), "You're awake, Master Splinter."
"Bishop," Naruto-Splinter snarled.
"Welcome," Bishop answered, "All but one of your adopted sons' genetic make-ups has been very useful to me indeed. But now I want yours. Even as I speak, the mutated DNA I'm extracting from you will help save all humanity."
Naruto-Splinter just scowled at the man in front of him.
"But please forgive me, you must be confused," said Bishop, "Allow me to explain: I work for the Earth Protection Force, a secret government organization assembled to face a mounting crisis, a crisis dating back to 1870 when President Grant created the E.P.F. after the first extraterrestrials crashed here on Earth."
And he walked over to the computer monitor and displayed two black and white photographs. One depicted a man who had an uncanny resemblance to Bishop standing next to President Ulysses S. Grant, who was signing a document (presumably the one that created the organization).
The second black and white photograph depicted a group of men standing in front of a downed U.F.O. (either they were carefully excavating it or more than likely they had just discovered it and wanted a photo for the occasion).
"Extraterrestrials; a crisis that continues to this day as we've seen with the invasion of the savage Triceratons," Bishop continued as he showed footage of the invasion, "I guarantee you similar invasions will follow and someone has to be there to stop them. That is the purpose of the E.P.F., my purpose." He then turned off the monitor and walked over to another lab table which contained something that was draped under a large black cover.
"To create a new humanity; a new superior race!" he proclaimed, "born of enhanced DNA. DNA acquired from genetic manipulation, alien autopsies, and even stolen through questionable means. But it's your rat DNA that will allow me to finally complete the process. And for that, I thank you."
And he walked back to the large monitor and pressed a button. The button then triggered the generator in the room to activate, which caused an electric coil above it to glow bright blue electricity. A bolt of electricity then shot down upon the other lab table.
"Yes," Bishop exclaimed, "It lives, it lives! A new evolution of Humankind!"
As the other lab table was placed on an upright position, the black cover fell off and revealed a horrific being that appeared human but was enhanced with bits and pieces of cybernetic armor, a device that completely covered its left hand, and a red helmet that had some tubes attached at the back.
"The Slayer!" Bishop exclaimed. The being, now known as the Slayer, stepped off the lab table.
Bishop then boastfully pointed out the humans in the cylindrical containers.
"Not only are these members of the future Earth Protection Force," he said, "but they are the new humanity. These clones are awaiting final DNA sequencing. By cellular acceleration, I can give birth to an army in about six hours. Fully trained thanks to my advances in bio-genetic transferences. And of course your DNA."
He then walked over to the control console and pushed another button. This time a hook came moving along and stopped in front of Naruto-Splinter's lab table.
Bishop then attached it to the lab table as he said, "I've uploaded complex survival tactics into this prototype."
"What will you do with these clones?" Naruto-Splinter asked.
"Mainstream them into the population of course," Bishop answered, "We have aliens out there right now, living amongst us. My Slayers will ferret them out and kill them."
Naruto-Splinter growled as he remarked, "How can you be so sure that innocent people won't be killed in the crossfire? What happens when you make a mistake?"
Agent Bishop just shrugged nonchalantly as he pushed a button that made the hook bring Naruto-Splinter up into the air before being lowered into an empty cylindrical container as he answered, "Not my concern, I'm more of a 'bigger picture' kind of guy. Besides, my calculations suggest that it would be beneficial if 50% of the Earth's population simply...vanished."
Naruto-Splinter continued to scowl at Bishop, who simply smiled and said, "Just think, my little lab rat, your DNA will make it all possible. You're lucky you're such a unique organic specimen, you shall be preserved."
And the cylindrical container slowly began filling up with clear green fluid. Just then a henchman stepped in.
"Sir," he said alerting Bishop to his presence, "The recall signal for car 813 has been activated. It's on its way in."
"Hmm," Bishop pondered, "That train should have been destroyed. Prepare a suitable reception just in case it's occupied."
-The Secret Underground Subway Tracks-
The captured subway car raced down the tracks as it quickly approached its final destination.
"Okay," said Raph, "Next stop: Bishop Central."
Everyone then got into position as the train slowed down to a crawl.
Meanwhile up ahead, as a huge metal door opened up like a garage door, Bishop's men raced out onto the platform as a voice over the PA system called out, "Security to Shuttle Bay Alpha; this is not a drill. I repeat: this is NOT a drill!"
The train then slowed to a stop as the henchmen armed themselves with laser rifles. Just as a large group of them approached a door, Leatherhead burst out of it and managed to knock away a few henchmen before picking the discarded door and (using it as a weapon) knocking away a few more.
Splinter then leapt out and with a flying kick, he created a domino effect as henchmen after henchman after henchman were knocked into each other. Splinter then used his walking cane to snatch their weapons before smashing them into bits and pieces.
Don then came running out, swinging his Bo Staff at some henchmen to his left and right as he cleared a path for Leo, Raph, Mikey, and Professor Honeycutt.
Leo then noticed the huge metal door closing down towards the ground as he shouted, "Leatherhead, get the door."
The giant crocodile then raced to get underneath the door and prevent it from closing.
"Rrrargh," he groaned, "Hurry!" The ninja family and Professor Honeycutt quickly ran inside. Then, with a mighty groan, Leatherhead let go of the door and backed away.
"Good luck my friends," he said.
-Bishop's Secret Facility-
The group of six ran down a hallway and burst through some doors where they then came upon Bishop's laboratory. There in front of them, inside a cylindrical container, was Naruto-Splinter who, at the moment, had green fluid surrounding his ankles.
"Oh no!" Don exclaimed worriedly.
"Hang on," Leo said in a commanding tone as he took out his Katanas, "We'll get you out."
Just then the group heard a clapping noise.
"I must say, I'm impressed that you found me," Bishop's voice echoed. The group then tried to find where it was coming from until they saw the so-called agent step out from behind Naruto-Splinter's container.
"But you won't be," he started to say until he took notice of the fact that there were now two Splinters.
"What?! But how?! I-," he then looked over to, what he thought was, his captive rat and growled, "You!"
Naruto-Splinter smiled a wide-toothed grin as he poofed back into Naruto.
"Hee-hee-hee, a ninja must see through deception," he chuckled before his expression became serious as he said, "but you're insane if you think I'm gonna let you just walk out of here and start killing innocent people." And with a mighty heave, he forcefully broke his restraints and shattered the glass container with his right fist. He then leapt down and joined his family where they then immediately got into battle-ready fighting stances.
Bishop growled as he snapped his fingers and called his Slayer to his side. "Like I said, I'm a 'bigger picture' kind of guy," he snarled, "now watch as you all drop dead before your very eyes."
The Slayer then leapt and landed on the middle of some stairs and the heroes became tense.
Naruto then whispered to the professor, "Hey professor, you think you can step up to that control console and activate whatever the heck's in those containers?"
"I will certainly try Naruto," the professor replied as he snuck away. The blond ninja then whispered to the others, "You guys take care of him; me and Master Splinter will take care of ol' Dr. Insano here."
"Right," said his brothers as he and Splinter leapt right at Bishop, who grabbed a lone steel pipe, and begun their fight.
Leo then made the first move as he ran up the stairs and swung his swords at the monstrosity in front of him. But the Slayer nimbly dodged his strikes as spun around a rail and kicked the turtle into some machinery.
Raph growled as he threw his Sais right at the Slayer and managed to stab it in its arm and leg. Thinking he had an advantage, the red eye-masked turtle charged in but immediately skidded to a halt as the Slayer just pulled the weapons out of its body (which inadvertently sliced open some tubes that were attached to his arm which then began to drain grey colored fluid). Not only that, it seemed as if the stab wounds instantly healed upon being exposed. At the same time, the device that covered its left arm simply detached and fell to the ground, leaving its left hand free to use.
But just as quickly as this happened, the Slayer rushed towards Raph and punched him in his abdomen, sending him flying into an electrical panel cover. The Slayer then threw the Sais right back at him, being stabbed in the wall on the right and left sides of his head. Before Raph could react, the electrical panel cover let out a small (meaning non-lethal) explosion, which propelled him and his weapons to the ground.
Don and Mikey leapt up in the air and swung down their weapons, but the Slayer did a hand stand before pushing off the ground and kicked them back down. Don however would not let up with his attack as he used his Bo staff as a pole vault and surprise attacked the monstrous being from behind, knocking it right into a generator. The damaged generator shocked it senseless, which in turn made its helmet explode into pieces.
As the smoke cleared and the Slayer turned to face its current opponents, the turtle brothers gasped. Though half of its face was missing (which exposed its inner metal, terminator-like skeleton) and its hair was wild and unruly, the appearance was unmistakable.
"Bishop?!" Leo gasped.
"Handsome devil, isn't he?" Bishop snarked as he ducked down from Splinter's cane attack while knocking away a shuriken thrown by Naruto.
"Okay, now I'm officially freaked out," Mikey gulped nervously.
"Believe me," Bishop said as Naruto and Splinter gave chase to him up in the rafters, "you ain't seen nothin' yet!"
(He said the second part of that sentence in a Cajun accent by the way).
The Slayer then effortlessly leapt up on some pipes and began to climb towards the ceiling. As it did, it stopped in its tracks and turned its head 180 degrees.
The turtles visibly grimaced before gasping in shock as the thing in front of them disappeared into thin air.
"Looks like Stockman isn't the only one who developed invisibility technology," said Don.
"This just keeps getting better and better," Raph snarked as he picked up his Sais.
"Guys," Leo said, "we'll have to fight him with our eyes closed."
"Just like Naruto taught us?" Mikey asked.
"Just like Naruto taught us," Leo replied confidently as they all closed their eyes and listened.
Don then heard a subtle *whooshing* sound behind him. He then extended his Bo staff in front of him and spun around, sweeping his weapon low to the ground in hopes that it would trip up the creature. However, it was apparent that this didn't work as he felt the creature pick him up and throw him into a pipe with enough force to bend it.
Raph then heard the creature run towards him. He then leapt up into the air and executed a flying multiple-kick attack, kicking the creature in the head. At first, this tactic seemed to work as the Slayer briefly became visible again; but then the Slayer grabbed Raph by his leg, turned invisible, and slammed him up against a wall as punched his shell repeatedly (and with extreme force I might add) before stopping. The Slayer then became sneaky once again.
"Ugh," Raph groaned as he picked himself up, "this ain't as easy as Naruto made it look, is it?"
Mikey then felt himself being picked up and thrown up against a wall.
"Man," he groaned as he rubbed his head, "this guy doesn't play nice."
Meanwhile, over with Naruto and Splinter's fight with Bishop, Bishop was on the defensive as he blocked Splinter's punches and dodged Naruto's shuriken. Bishop then roundhouse-kicked the both of them away as he leapt away himself to gain some much needed distance.
"You're not going to win this time Bishop," Naruto said.
"This, we swear," Splinter added.
Bishop's expression hardened as he took out a clawed weapon attached to a chain and replied, "Wrong! None of you are going to stop me because none of you understand!"
And he began whipping his weapon around with deadly accuracy, making sure to keep his current opponents on their toes.
"I've created life! Take a look; every one of these clones bears my image!" he proclaimed loudly as he swung at Splinter, who nimbly leapt up and around Bishop as he kicked the agent in the back of his knees.
"Bishop," the rat retorted as he leapt back for some distance, "No one has the right to play God."
"I am taking the necessary steps to defend the world," Bishop argued as he threw his weapon so fast that Splinter had no time to react as the chain wrapped around him before being dragged into Bishop's oncoming fist, "IT IS MY DUTY!"
Just then the agent was kicked right at his jaw was sent back flying into a wall, courtesy of Naruto, who had quickly rushed to his adoptive father's side to untangle him quickly.
As he did this, he said, "This world's filled with enough psychos, it doesn't need you or your clones!"
Meanwhile, Leo was dug into his belt and grasped something in his hand. Just as he heard a noise coming from in front of him, he threw whatever was in his hand down on the ground, smoke billowing everywhere as he did (indicating that he grasped a smoke bomb).
He opened his eyes and quickly struck the Slayer twice with his Katana blades. Visible electrical energy sparked all around the Slayer's body as its invisibility barrier was disabled.
"Guys open your eyes," he said, "I managed to disable that invisibility of his."
"Awesome," Mikey said as he swung his Nun-chucks and went on the attack, "Now we actually stand a chance at whooping this guy's butt!"
Don and Raph nodded in agreement as they and Leo joined Mikey and attacked together; slowly but surely, the Slayer became more and more defensive.
Meanwhile, Professor Honeycutt came upon the main control. He then turned his hand into a tool that would allow him to hack into the main computer as he said, "I do hope Naruto knows what he is doing."
He then turned the machine on and the large monitor in front of him quickly flashed green letters that read, 'Commencing Activation Protocol'. Just then an alarm blared as red letters that now flashed the screen read, 'DNA Sequencing Error'.
"Oh dear," said the professor as he extracted his hand from the console and walked away, "That can't be good."
Bishop, hearing the alarm, stopped his fight with Naruto and saw (with horrible realization etched in his face) his clones were turning to stone before disintegrating into nothing. He then quickly looked over towards his Slayer creation and saw, with equal horrified realization, as it was defending itself from all four of the turtles' weapons, it suddenly screamed in pain and held its head as it too turned to stone before disintegrating into dust.
"NNOOOOOO, my Slayer!" Bishop exclaimed in terror as he turned his attention to Naruto and, with the angriest expression on his face yet, shouted, "YOU! What the hell have you done!"
As the three circled each other, Naruto smirked and said, "Let's just say that when you extracted my DNA, I was meditating in a way that let me combine it with a special chakra that can only be used by me. But I gotta admit I didn't know that it would affect that thing of yours that was just a bonus."
"It is over Bishop," Splinter said.
Bishop snarled as he retorted, "You have no idea what you've done, NO IDEA!" He then quickly grabbed his chain weapon and charged right at the two opponents.
Naruto, thinking fast, quickly reached into his weapons pouch and threw a handful of shuriken right at Bishop, who nimbly dodged them.
"You missed!" he remarked.
"Wasn't aiming for you," the blond ninja replied as Bishop skidded to a halt and saw handheld weapons embedded in several places on the main control console and large monitor.
"Donatello's specially made Electric Counter-Shock Shuriken (***)," Naruto said as the weapons and the machine itself began to emit electrical sparks.
"NNNOOOOOOOOOO!" Bishop cried as he ran over with the intent on removing them before any damage took place, but it was too late. The machine then exploded and the force from the explosion sent Bishop flying, right into one of the large hooks that hung from heavy chains.
He screamed as he saw his impending death before being stabbed just below his ribs. He then coughed up blood as he struggled a bit before his body stopped moving altogether, blood pooling on the floor below him. Fire from the explosion soon started to spread.
At the same time, Leo, Mikey, Don, Raph, and Professor Honeycutt ran to meet up with Naruto and Splinter (who were picking themselves up after ducking from the explosion).
"Guys," Leo said, "we have to get out of here." Just as he said this, a large pipe on the wall burst and water started to flood the room rapidly.
Naruto then glanced over in the direction where Bishop's body hung, only to discover that it wasn't there.
The agent's voice echoed in the room, "You will all pay for this you freaks. One day you will all pay!"
The group then looked towards an escape ladder and saw a leg climbing up.
"After him!" Splinter commanded as everyone made a beeline towards the ladder.
As they all climbed it, the electric generators began shorting out and exploding. But the group made it out, just in time
*BOOOOOOOOMMMMM!*
-New York City Streets, Night-
The group of heroes emptied out from underneath a covered phone booth. (Currently the streets were empty).
"Whoa," Mikey said, "We're in the middle of Midtown."
The group then looked for any sign of Bishop or his henchmen, but found none.
"And Bishop is nowhere in sight," said Leo.
"We shall see him again," Splinter said as he surveyed the immediate area, "Such men are hard to destroy."
The group then ran towards the nearest sewer manhole cover. As Naruto lifted it open and his brothers and Professor Honeycutt went down, before Splinter went in, he turned his attention towards the blond ninja and said, "We shall discuss the reckless actions you have made this evening later."
"Aw man," Naruto slightly groaned/whined as Splinter went in. The blond ninja then sighed with a slight nervous smile on his face as he went in and covered the manhole.
(*) Take a look at Season 2 Chapter 4 for the other time it began as a dark and stormy night.
(**) The Professor's new body is just too weird and such a convoluted mess that it wasn't worth writing a wall of text just to describe it properly.
(***) Recall back to Season 1 Chapter 13 for the first time that weapon was used.
Jeez, please forgive the long wait. I know it shouldn't have taken this long, because I know November and December can be difficult for any college student. But then January started and soon I found my workload to be tripled over night.
But I also have good news; in between writing this chapter and doing school work, I've managed to locate the uncut, widescreen version of Turtles Forever on a video sharing site (don't ask me where, all I can say is it's out there).
As you may have noticed, the turtles have now taken a leaf or two out of Naruto's ninja handbook, more specifically with his taijutsu. I felt that this would've been a natural progression for the four since they are all brothers and it makes sense that while they can't use ninjutsu or genjutsu, they are more than capable of handling taijutsu. You won't see this a lot, mind you, since I imagine that even though it is only taijutsu it would still take a tremendous amount of physical strength to be able to do it because their bodies aren't like Naruto's. However, do expect it popping up here and there from here on out.
One last thing, I really do appreciate all the positive responses that I get either in the reviews or PMs. Sometimes when I'm feeling down, I like to read them and remind myself that there are people out there who do want to see more of this. And I'm more than happy to do it; all I ask is that you be patient with me.
Now then, next chapter will be this season's finale. I'll probably either release it during spring break or (more than likely) in May or June, which ever date it happens to land on. Soon after, I'll begin production on Season 4.
But until then, please leave a review.
