I first met her after the First World War; she was dressed well for the time very provocatively and most at this dance were looking her way. If I recall she called herself a flapper not that I tried to pay her much attention. She was young after all and I had other things on my mind. Yet I found her and I locking eyes before she smiled at me before walking over, "Hi Gari." She said with a wide smile, "Want to dance?"
I shrugged really not in the mood but I let her take my hand and pull me out. I heard a snicker behind me and turned to see of all woman Prussia looking at me with a smirk. "America," I started only to be cut off.
"Hey keep your eyes on me." She said as she started to dance but while she was good, I've seen her dance before. "What?" She asked as I chuckled.
I leaned down, "Miss America are you afraid to dance in front of your big sisters?"
At this she scoffed as she nearly jabbed my foot with her heel, "Just because you're a Kingdom doesn't mean you can act like one."
"Oh? And what does that mean?" I won't deny that she amused me and she only answered me as I spun her.
"It means don't ask questions just dance."
The next time we would meet like that was in the early eighties. The entire time I was at that outing I couldn't help but watch Russia in the corner of my eye. She had that same smile plastered on her face but I saw behind it and how cruel she could be. As I kept her in my sights I didn't see America until she tapped my shoulder, "Yes?" I said only then turning my attention from Russia.
She smiled at me as she took my hand and pulled me out onto the dance floor, "I think we should talk about a few jewels I have in my possession." She said once we were out of ear shot. "I think it's time I gave them back." My thoughts instantly went to the shorter woman behind me but as I started to turn my head the woman in front of me took my chin, "Don't look at her. This is between you and me." Her eyes had such fire in them; I trusted her and that spunk of hers.
"Fine, but you seem to be losing your rhythm."
I was rewarded with a nasty glare, "Shut up you asshole."
"Oh snippy aren't we?"
"Ugh just dance with me." I let out a laugh as I spun her around. I still could tell she wasn't being herself though.
It was strange but I knew she could be so much more. I'd watch her with others but it was still…lacking her passion. For a woman that boasted about freedom so much she wasn't letting any of it show in her movements. So tonight I decided to change that.
She was talking to her twin sister when I walked over, "Hello Katie."
She turned drink still in hand, "Oh hello Hungary." The blonde haired woman took a small sip, "Do you want one?"
"Actually I was looking for a dance." I said taking her hand, "What do you say?"
Slowly she laid her drink down as I pulled her out as a song started to play. "Normally I'm the one asking you." She said with a slight smirk.
"Yeah but I thought I'd do it tonight." I dipped her watching her face turn a bright red, "So don't let back."
Again I saw that spark in her eyes and I knew what she was going to day, "Oh shut up and d-" I silenced her with a kiss I knew she wasn't expecting. "I um."
"Now dance with me." And lord did she ever.
