"So", Akira said, "If we get to this mirror, you think it may get us to the Demon World faster?" "It's our only chance", Dante said, "Let's find Verge and get the hell out of here" They soon reached the palace and Akira couldn't help but think of what Dante said to her after they defeated the imposter of Akira, "You say that if whatever the hell dragged you and your friend to my world would be defeated by you, and you and her would return to your world, but what if you couldn't go back?" "Ann", Akira said, gaining her attention, "I want to ask you something" As if knowing about what she was going to ask, Dante said as he pulled out Ebony and Ivory, "I'll check and see if the coast is clear up ahead" He ran on ahead as the girls sat down and Annabelle asked, "What's on your mind, Akira?" Akira took a deep breath and asked, "Do you think we'll be able to go home after we beat Arkham?" Annabelle's eyes widened with shock. Was Akira really doubting that they would return back home? Granted, she doubted about some things, but being able to go home to the real world as she said, "Of course we're going home. I don't see how you would doubt that"
"I mean, think about it", Akira said, "Arkham knew how to get us here. He used some sort of spell to get us here. So he knows a spell to get us home, but if we kill him, we won't go back" Annabelle had to think about it for a second, but Akira as right, but it made her say, "Maybe Arkham wanted us to stay. Remember, he said he killed all the girls that weren't us, and maybe he had planned on killing us after we had fulfilled what he wanted us to do and that was open the gate to the Demon World" Annabelle looked at her friend and said, "If your doubting that, then something's telling me you don't want to leave" 'And I know why', she thought, but the more she thought about it, the more that even she was doubting. All that she knew is that with their arrival, the story had changed dramatically and there was no denying it there. Maybe she could try to convince Vergil. She remembered a conversation they had while she was with him.
"So you come from a rich family", Vergil asked. "Yep", Annabelle said, "I'm from a rich family while Akira was a poor girl. She never knew her father, only her mother. Her mother died when she and I were little, and because of it, Akira was left in our care, but going from poor to rich wasn't all that easy for her, while for me…I always wanted to be different" She was silent for a minute and said, "And now, we're here, with no chance of going home, but I know we're going home, I'm sure of it" Vergil remained silent for a minute but spoke, "But what if you couldn't get home, what will you do then?"
"Ann!", Akira said, breaking her thoughts, "Dante said it's all clear. Let's get moving" Annabelle stood up and followed Dante and Akira as she mumbled to herself, "I don't know, I just hope I can do this" They made it to a room that had a large mirror in the middle of the room, making Akira say, "This must be the mirror Joyce was talking about. Let's hope it will lead to the Demon World" Dante jumped into the mirror first, then Akira, and finally Annabelle. Unknown to them, someone watched them enter the mirror.
Once they entered the aura of where they were told Dante they were in the Demon World as he said, "We're here. That old man might be here, keep your guard up" Akira and Annabelle looked around until the sound of swords clashing into each other and something flew in front of the three to reveal, 'Sparda?!', the girls thought. "Welcome", the voice said, making everyone realize it was Arkham, taking the form of Sparda in his demon form, "What do you think after looking at your father's image?" "It's like staring into a backed-up toilet", Dante said, seeing the sight before him angered the half devil, granted he knew his father wasn't there when his mother was killed and when he needed him the most as a child, he was still a father until he disappeared as Akira drew her sword and said with a growl, "You always gotta stick your nose where it doesn't belong, Get a damn hobby, old man" Arkham began to laugh, making Annabelle demand, "What's so funny Arkham?" He stopped laughing as he began to change and morph into something while he said, "You can still talk big after seeing this?"
Everyone watched Arkham transform into something that couldn't be more described as a purple blob with arms and legs as Arkham said, "I can feel the Devil's power overflowing my body. The power of Sparda!" Annabelle's eyes widened in fear, her hands trembling as she held her knives as she could hear Dante say, "Dude, my father wasn't so hideous" He lifted Rebellion and continued as he looked at himself in it reflection, "Can't you tell by looking at me?" He felt a smack to the back of his head, giving Akira a quick glance then to Arkham as he said, "Anyway, that shape suits you better. Now let's begin with the main event" Akira looked to see Annabelle shaking and in tears as Arkham said, "So the 'Ice Queen' trembles and cries. How pathetic" Akira took her friend's wrist and said, "Ann, he wants you to be this way. Let the pain go. Let the hurt go. Let your fears go. LET IT GO!" Dante looked to see Akira giving her friend a pep talk before charging into battle.
Annabelle wiped her tears away and said, "Let's do this, Akira" She was still trembling as she called out to Arkham, gaining his and Dante's attention. She gave a smirk and said, "I'm trembling with…excitement. Ready Sedna, Nina?" "We are ready, lass", Sedna said as they slowly began to grow in size and becoming a few feet bigger then Arkham along with Nina. Akira and Annabelle looked to their dragons when they said in unison, "By the power of our ancestors, you have awakened, Your Majesties" Sedna shot ice around Annabelle as Nina shot fire around Akira, making their bodies glow and their clothes changing as well. Annabelle's outfit changed into an ice-blue colored dress, with the skirt a bit passed her knees, gauntlets with fingerless gloves, and armored heeled boots. As for Akira, the gem on her circlet glowed brightly while her new outfit was a sleeveless Chinese type of mini dress, leggings, gloves that go the mid-point of her lower arm, and short heeled boots, all sporting a color scheme of yellow, red, and orange as if it was nothing but a flame.
Both girls opened their eyes to see the new outfits as Sedna and Nina's voices echoed throughout saying, "We were created to guide you to your destiny, now go forth, and bring an end to this. Ice Queen Annabelle, Fire Princess Akira" Akira and Annabelle nodded their heads as Akira shouted, "Let's do this Ann!" "Victory to us all!", Annabelle shouted shortly after as they charged into battle. Akira's wings were on her back as she leapt into the air and fired a few fireballs at Arkham as he tried to knock her out of the air while Annabelle formed ice spikes and directed them to Arkham. Dante was impressed with the girls for their bravery when Akira grew a smirk and shouted while in a sing-song tone, "Ann! ~Do you wanna build a snowman?~" As if getting what she was saying, Annabelle threw some ice onto the ground as it formed a gigantic snowman with claws and ice spikes on its back and knees."Get him, Marshmallow", Akira shouted while pointing at Arkham.
Dante barely had time to get out of the way as the giant snowman roared and attacked Arkham. "I thought that wouldn't work", Annabelle muttered to herself, before noticing Arkham's hand swatting at her, knocking her to the ground. Akira noticed it before she noticed his other hand swatting at her as he defeated the snowman. She tried to dodge it in time but it wasn't enough as she landed on the ground. Dante was panting heavily, mostly from using his Devil Trigger when he needed it and the fight was dragging on as Arkham said to the three,"No use! Regardless of how strong you three are, you're nothing but half-breeds. You cannot a pure demon, the real Sparda!" Akira lifted herself up, seeing Arkham readying a strike at Dante, causing her to run and hold her arms out while standing in front of Dante, ready to take the blow. Annabelle screamed for Akira as she held her arm out while Arkham swung his arm out, not even caring that Akira was there. Akira closed her eyes as she could hear Dante yell her name, waiting for the blow, but it never came as the sound of sword slicing the air was heard. Akira opened her eyes to see Arkham's hand was sliced off as Annabelle ran to Dante and Akira as Arkham said, "What's this?"
"Look!", Annabelle said, causing everyone to look where she was pointing to where a familiar figure stood. "Vergil!", Annabelle cried out, causing him to smirk while Arkham yelled, "Damn you!" Akira and Dante were left in awe, seeing the older twin and that he saved Akira's life. Vergil stood up and said to Arkham, "I've come to retrieve my power! You can't handle it" He jumped from his perch, landing beside Annabelle while pointing Yamato to Dante in his right hand and hugging Annabelle with his left. Dante let out a scoff as he said, "Well, look at you…making a big dramatic entrance and stealing my spotlight" Vergil let go of Annabelle as he swung Arkham's severed limb back to him and pointing his sword at Arkham while saying, "Well, you don't possibly believe that he deserves to be our main event now, do you?" "Now that you mentioned it", Dante said as he placed Rebellion on his shoulder, "You're right" Vergil swung Yamato to his side as he, Dante, Akira, and Annabelle walked towards Arkham, who said, "Do you feel you can defeat me? The power of your father? The great Sparda?" "You should come to realize you cannot control the power of Sparda, "Vergil said while Dante pointed Rebellion and added, "You're wasting your time, buddy"
"You've picked the wrong pair of best friends to try and kill", Annabelle said, giving him an ice cold glare, one that could rival Vergil's as Akira added,"One thing about payback is that it's a bitch. So it's payback time for kidnapping us!" The four stopped as Dante said with a smirk, "I think he needs to learn the hard way" Vergil glanced at his brother and with a battle cry, all four charged at him from different angles.
Akira leaped into the air once more and shot some fireballs at Arkham as Annabelle used more ice spikes that circled Arkham and ere shot straight at him. Arkham couldn't handle the pressure that these girls were dishing out when Annabelle yelled out, "Vergil, Dante!" The sons of Sparda struck him on each side while Akira and Annabelle did the same. Arkham swung everyone until they couldn't hold on much longer, causing them to let go of their weapons. As if they all has the same thought, the four shoved their weapons deeper into Arkham and coming out on the other side. Dante with Yamato, Vergil with Rebellion, Akira with Annabelle's knives, that realized they were named Kengee, and Annabelle with Sasuke. They leaped into the air and with one final attack they struck Arkham. They returned the weapons back to their rightful owners and once Dante put Rebellion back on his back, he drew Ebony and Ivory out aiming for him, only to have Arkham knock Ebony out of his hand. Vergil caught the gun as Akira summoned her bow while Annabelle held an ice crossbow in her hands. All four aimed at Arkham as Vergil said, "I'll try it your way for once" Akira smirked and said to Arkham,"We have a saying where we come from, Arkham, one that used when we defeat an enemy. Che nessuno ricordi il tuo nome(May no one remember your name)" Annabelle smirked when she knew where Akira got that from as she added, "May God have mercy on your soul"
"Remember what we used to say?", Dante asked Vergil, causing a smirk from his twin as Arkham cried out, "Don't do it!" Dante and Vergil stood back-to-back with Akira standing in between and behind them with Annabelle in front of them on one knee as the four said at the same time, "JACKPOT!" They fired at Arkham and with their combined powers, defeated him as he yelled out, "I have the true power of Sparda!" "Not very classy for someone's dying words", Vergil said as he tossed Ebony back to Dante and the girls changed back into the outfits they had when they started this journey. "Damn it", Akira said as she placed a hand on her forehead, "My head hurts" "Same here", Annabelle said. "You girls just got your Triggers", Vergil said, "Considering you have powers in your blood it awakened them completely" 'Makes sense of the headache', Akira thought as she said, "So we beat him" Annabelle looked to Vergil as Akira looked at Dante as they both cried out, "We did it!" Both young women embraced the twins. Dante smiled as he hugged Akira and twirled her around a few times while Vergil embraced Annabelle back, who was in tears, glad that it was over.
Vergil looked over and saw that Dante and Akira were kissing as he gave them an icy glare while Annabelle jokingly said, "Oh, for God's sake, get a room you two" Dante and Akira let go once they heard Annabelle yelling at them as Vergil noticed the amulets and a sword he recognized as Sparda's own sword, Force Edge. He ran as fast as he could with Dante right behind him along with Akira and Annabelle as the four fell deeper into the Demon World.
