I'm starting to think why on Earth did I named this fanfic Opposites Attract? So now, I was thinking if I should change it's name. What do you think?

There are two things I am scared of right now. Well one is, how you guys would react to this 3 part ending. I'm hoping to get reviews but I'm scared to read them at the same time. But of course, I'd like to have reviews about these. Second thing I'm scared of is watching the new episode of Fairy Tail. It opens into a new arc and well, I didn't like how Tartaros arc ended. I think I'll watch it when the arc ends, till then I'll read the manga.

Oh god, the manga. Have you seen the NaLu development? I'm squealing like an idiot. :)

Hey, can you suggest NaLu fanfics to me?

My class starts again tomorrow. So about updates with Girl Code... I don't think I can. I have a draft. BUT! I don't think it's good enough. And I might change the plot of that one. Chapter 55

A week has passed and Erza was wrong and right when she said he'll go. He was there via hologram. And that ticked something in me. It was annoying how he doesn't have a time to spare in talking about the company. We both have the right to the company. And we both have it as the only memento of our parents. He should've known it's important to me.

I sighed and plopped myself on the bed. It hasn't even been a week since Jellal fired me but I feel bored not doing anything. I'm not used to these kinds of things. Well, you see.. the company did not cut my credit cards unlike what I thought when I knew about Natsu and Jenny. I could just spend and spend and spend to get my mind of things. But that's not me. My mind won't just 'not think of my problems' just because happy things happen. It just doesn't work that way. Well, I'll be happy to relax and get my mind off things but the effect is not as long as when I work.

So I don't have much of a choice. I need to get my mind of things for a really long while. I've got Erza and Levy for 'relaxing' and now I need to look for a job that would occupy my mind a lot more. Hmm, maybe that way Erza and Levy wouldn't have to spend too much of their time with me.

I don't want to have a blank mind, because a blank mind thinks dark thoughts.

Maybe I should go for a walk. Call Erza? Maybe Levy? Ask them for work, if they know anything. But I doubt Erza would let me anytime soon. I think I should try Gray? Or maybe even Gajeel? Cause Jellal's just out of the question.

RIIING

I groaned a lazily crawl to the other side of my bed where I placed my phone last night.

"Hello?"

"Lucy!"

I winced a little but I was happy at the caller. "Juvia! Long time! How are you?"

"Juvia is fine. Juvia has great news for you!"

I sat up and leaned on the headboard. "Oh we'll talk about that later. I heard you're with Gramps?"

"B-Bu.. Fine. Yes. Juvia is doing some business with Master Makarov."

"Where are you right now? Are you with him? Can I talk to him?"

I heard Juvia giggled from the other line. "Juvia will be coming back to Magnolia in three days."

"Really? Let's meet! I'll call Erza and Levy." I paused. "Is Gramps going home with you?"

There was a long silence before Juvia answered. "Juvia assures you he'll be going back to Magnolia with Juvia in three days."

"I'm so glad!" I'm so happy tears welled in my eyes. I was so relieved Gramps is going back. At least I still have him. "Is he with you?"

"Uh, no. Well Juvia needs to go. But first Juvia wants to tell you that she's giving you a job."

My eyebrows scrunched. "Job? How'd you know I'm in need of a job?"

"Juvia talked to Gray earlier today. He mentioned you're in need of a job."

I hummed. "Okay.. What's this job?"

"The job requires a woman –"

"Not a chance! Why does it specifically asks for a –"

"It's not like that! Juvia assures you it's a fine job. A friend of Juvia asked for someone who – please let me finish first – a woman, friends with band members (can be ex-band members), has a scarlet haired demon best friend, brown eyed, large chest, round butt, brown eyes –"

"Wait!"

"Juvia told you not to interrupt her. But what is it?"

"Why does that kind of described me?"

"That's the reason why Juvia called you fast. Juvia thought they were looking specifically for you. And Juvia thinks it's a good job."

"I don't know Juvia. It's sound fishy."

"Juvia assures you its okay. It came from a friend of Juvia and it's in Magnolia."

I think about it and well Juvia knows this person. "Okay. What's the job?"

"It was not said here but! Application will be in three days. Juvia will arrive there in the morning and she'll pick you up at 8 and Juvia and Lucy will go to Domus Flau together? Juvia needs to go. Good bye! See you Lucy!"

And she hung up.

"See you.. Juvia." I said to the beeping tone.

Domus Flau.

That's the courthouse.. right?

"Yes Erza, I'll be going to the courthouse early."

"Why? Just wait for me. I'll just dress up Myst and Zael. I'll be there in an hour or an hour and a half."

I opened my closet and chose an appropriate bag and accessories. Hmm, maybe not too formal. Just sophisticated would be enough. I think. "Juvia promised to pick me up today."

"You've talked to her?"

I grabbed a matching set and laid them on my bed. "Erza? Do you think yellow and red match?"

"You'd look like McDonalds."

"Oh. Right." I quickly removed the set. "And yes, I talked to Juvia. She said she and Gramps are heading back to Mag today."

"Ms. Scarlet here's the results. Thank you!"

I paused in what I'm doing and focused on what I just heard. "Erza? I thought you're dressing up Myst and Zael? Where are you?"

"I said I'll dress them up. Not I'm already dressing them up. Anyway, I'm with them. We're in the –Oh god."

"Erza? What's wrong? Where are you?"

"N-Nothing Lucy. Well, you said Juvia's picking you up right?"

"Are you really okay? You don't sound okay to me?" I pressed.

She cleared her throat. "I am. Don't worry."

"Okay. Just please tell me if anything's wrong, alright?"

"Mhm. Don't worry about me Lucy." She cleared her throat. "There's going to be a trial today right?"

"Yes, and an application for a job. Juvia got me one. But I don't know what I could do in a courthouse."

"You're all around. Maybe the judge will ask you to file their documents."

I turned back to the closet and looked at my dresses. "Maybe. It seems like they're specifically looking for me. So.. lucky me! I guess."

"What do you mean?"

"Juvia read to me the job requirements.. they're looking for a woman, friends with band members –said can be ex-band members, a scarlet haired… uh, best friend, brown eyes…" My voice trailed not wanting to continue.

"That does sound fishy. Please be careful Lucy. I want you to be careful, always. Tell Juvia you should be careful and the moment you sense something not right walk away and call me. Better yet, call me then start walking. Whatever it is that is not okay just call me. As fast as you can. Alright?"

I giggled. "Okay. Mother!"

"I'm just looking out for you."

"I know, I know."

And because of how caring Erza could get I always remember how Natsu used to be. He would always call me or send me a message even after the incident with Jenny. I blocked his number so he won't be able to call but the messages they were like spam sometimes, especially the first few days that we broke up. Now, it's just every morning, lunch, before when I go to my work in Immortals, dinner, after my work in Immortals, if I got home safe and a good night. I was secretly waiting for these times. He never missed one message, wherever he is. But of course I never replied.

Why does he keep doing this? This just makes it more difficult for me to move on.

"Erza?" I heard a hum from the other line. "What colors do you think I should wear?"

"Thought you'd never ask." She said and I was sure I heard her smirk. "Why not try gold, black and white?"

"I always wear black and white."

"Then, why ask me in the first place?"

I shivered. Literally. "Okay then. See you later! I need to get ready."

"See you!"

In the end I wore… (Insert not so formal dress here) Looking self at mirror.

There was a knock on the door and I grabbed my bag in hurry. "Coming!" I checked and glanced one more at my room and opened the door and sure enough Juvia was standing there with her blue hair down. "Juvia! I missed you!"

I pulled her into a hug and she returned it back with the same squeeze. "Are you ready?"

"Yes!"

"Then, let's go."

The drive had been a pleasant one.

I asked Juvia how she was and what she's been doing this whole time. She said that she's been through a lot of projects for the company and they were all a success. Gramps have been helping her here and there and I was glad that they do get a long pretty well.

"So, you said Gramps' coming back today too, right?"

"He is. He took a plane that departs later than Juvia's so he will be here maybe in the afternoon or evening."

I nodded. I wished Gramps could just hurry and be here. "Can I have dinner with him tonight?"

Juvia nodded as she parks the car.

"That's great. Can you tell him that? I don't know any way to contact him.

"Juvia will." She smiled and went down the car. "Juvia thinks he is looking forward to seeing you too."

This day is going to be really great. I will be with Juvia, Erza and later Levy. She did say she'll drop by during the trial. She said something about pointers on how to be a lawyer or judge or whatever that is in the courthouse. I don't really get it but Levy's pursuing college and surprisingly she's taking law right now. I'm actually not surprise at all. She's going to be working with letters and words if I didn't first see her play in the band. And Levy's really smart. I should ask her to be the company's lawyer soon.

When I get the company back of course.

Juvia and I walked up the entrance of the courthouse. Now I see it, by the side a stone etched on it were the letters DOMUS FLAU. I was really nervous about this job Juvia was talking about. I didn't know a thing about the job specifications. All I know is that I pass all the requirements given and that I trust Juvia as to what kind of job this is.

"Juvia.. Juvia wants to work with Lucy again." She said in a low tone. "Juvia missed working with Lucy."

I looked at her shocked at what she just said. I smiled. "I'm getting my position back soon. Don't worry. And, I think Natsu's giving you a lot of opportunity to improve your skills."

"But Juvia missed working with Lucy."

"Soon." I said and we reached the entrance of the courthouse.

"Luce?"

Ugh. Not again.

I turned around and sure enough I was greeted by Natsu. His eyes look tired. Does he even sleep? Or even eat? I knew taking over the company is really difficult. But he did that to himself. Still, the part of me who cares for him overpowers every anger and hatred I felt for the past weeks. I want to touch his face and brush his hair but I know I couldn't. I shouldn't. Just like when Erza hit him. That feeling…

"Natsu? Ugh, you're late!" Jenny irritably said but then paused when she noticed the company Natsu was with. "Oh hey, Lucy!" Her voice pitched a little higher when she said my name and she immediately turned to smile at Juvia. "Juvia!"

And Juvia just smiled and nodded.

I am not mad at Jenny. As far as I know she is not at fault here. She just loved, I think. I have my share of mistakes too. So putting the blame on Jenny is just a, no. I just hope she'll take good care of him. And not make him wait just like what I did.

"H-Hey." I managed to say and stepped to the side so Jenny could get Natsu. It was kinda getting awkward so I spoke. "You.." I clenched my fists. You can do this Lucy. You've been through worse. "You're early today."

"Well.. his plane arrived earlier than expected." Jenny answered. "I suggested he go straight here to prepare for the trial. Right, Dragneel?"

Natsu rolled his eyes like the little child he is and stuck his tongue out at her.

Seeing them like this made my heart ache and I felt Juvia squeeze my arm. I looked up and saw her smile and returned it.

Jenny reached for him and in a second Natsu was in the courthouse. But he stopped before Jenny could lead him down the hallway. "I… anymore." He said in a muffled voice.

"But..this! ..pid." Jenny hissed.

He turned to me. "I ne –"

"I'm not inside the courthouse yet Mr. Dragneel. You can't talk to me about anything. Let's talk during the trial." I said turning away from them. But he turned me to face him. His eyes bore into mine.

He's serious.

"I have to –"

Jenny pulled him by his collar and soon they disappeared in the hallway.

I don't know if I want to go inside that place anymore. I don't know if I could handle being in the same room as Natsu and Jenny. What would happen to me later in the trial? I'm still contemplating whether I could be in the same room as them for about an hour or so.

"Lucy? Let's go?" I was brought back from my thoughts by Juvia's voice. I nodded and she smiled. She led the way to second floor where, I suppose the offices would be.

I was so absorbed in my thoughts that I jerked when I felt an arm around my shoulders.

"Oh my god Dan!" I whisper shouted. "You scared me!"

He chuckled and proceeded to pull me to him. "Nice to see you too Lulu!"

I rolled my eyes at him. "I could've punched you or kicked you!" He just smiled at me. "Why are you here anyway?"

"Well, after today we're going back to Acalypha."

"Wha –"

"Lucy?!" I don't know why I'm being called a lot lately but I lazily turned my head towards the direction of the voice. And my eyes landed on a white blob running fast towards me.

"Yukino?" I said confusedly. She ran so fast that when she reached me we almost toppled over if Dan's arms wasn't there catching both of us. "Why are you here?"

"I missed you so much Lucy!"

"I-I missed you too." I stuttered, too shock.

When we were standing upright she squeezed me again. "I'm so happy to see you again!"

"Why are you here?"

She stood back up but still held my hands in hers. "I'm waiting for Sting and Rogue. They went to the toilet."

"So you're the one waiting for those guys. How ungentlemanly." I rolled my eyes remembering Sting and Rogue, It was just like this since then. Yukino and I always wonder what those two are doing the toilet.

Do they comb their hair? Tie it maybe? Redo their make-up?

Just then Dan cleared his throat.

Yukino pulled away and looked at him incredulously. She looked at him then back at me then her eyes locked on his arm around my shoulder. "Who's this?"

"He's Da –"

"Lucy's boyfriend." Dan said removing his arm around me and reached for Yukino's and kissed the back of her hand. "But I could be yours too."

Her eyes widened and blushed like I've never seen before. "Wh-What –"

"Yuki – Oh hey Lucy!" Sting and Rogue are now standing behind Yukino, who immediately retracted her hand from Dan.

"Hey." I said simply and clamped my hand over Dan's mouth before he whine about Yukino being with these two guys and not him. I just really know how Dan thinks. I know. We're close.

Sting stepped closer and reached for my hand. "Lucy, from the bottom of my heart, I want to c –"

Rogue hit him by the head and pulled him back. "I am very sorry for his stupidity." I smiled at them and jumped to hug Rogue.

"Hey! Why did Rogue got a hug?" Sting whined. I just pulled him and encircled them both in a hug.

"I missed you both."

The three of us got closer during the past 5 years I've been travelling all over Fiore. I've spent quite a lot of business trips and meetings with them and sometimes with Yukino. It was nice to see them again.

"Lulu, who are these guys?" Dan interrupted.

I pulled away from them and went back beside Dan. "They're my friends. Sting, Rogue and that cute girl there is Yukino."

Dan grinned at them. "I'm Dan Straight. Lucy's –"

"Friend." I finished. I don't want people getting the wrong idea. I pulled Juvia and showed her to them. "Remember her?"

Sting nodded with a smirk on his face. "Who would forget the legendary Fairy Law members."

"Juvia.. Juvia just joined sometime in their later years."

"But you're cooler than Lisanna! I wish we could've gotten you before those Fairy people could."

Juvia giggled. "But Juvia loves Fairy Law."

"Still –"

"Stop it Sting. Band days are over." Rogue said.

Sting waved his hand in defeat. "Yeah, yeah."

"Rogue, Sting?" Yukino said in a whispered tone. "We need to go now."

"Already?" I asked.

They all nodded. And I just sighed. I really missed these people and I wished to spend more time with them. "Okay. Great to see you Lucy!" Sting said. "See ya later!" He grinned and pulled both Yukino and Rogue away.

I didn't even get the chance to ask why they are here.

"Let's go Lucy." Juvia said.

Oh right! The job!

Finally, after the oh-so-many-obstacles we reached the headmaster's office. I don't why it's called like that. Is this some kind of a Principal's office? But then again, headmaster can be a boss of anything formal. Whatever. I shrugged and Juvia opened the door.

The room was large. Shelves were like walls all over the room. A plant on each pillar and a large rectangular table at the center. The floor was carpeted blue. And a large window leading to the balcony behind the desk and a chair that was a silhouette against the light from the window. It's a very eat office. Unlike mine, this is classic. Something the royals would love.

"Ms. Heartfilia! You have come." A man with a beard of brown and tan skin came from the door I didn't notice when I got in. "I was thinking you are not to show up."

How formal is this guy? So he's the headmaster..

I shook his hand. "Pleasure to meet you, sir..."

"His name is Arcadios." Juvia whispered.

"Sir Arcadios." I said smiling. "Uhm, I'm here for the job that Juvia, my friend here, mentioned."

"Oh, I know her. I happen to meet her before." He said and shook her hand. "It is good to see you well, Ms. Lockser." He turned back to me. "About that job.." He walked towards the table and grabbed a clipboard and pen. "A woman?" Did this guy just ask me if I'm a woman?

I turned to Juvia when he looked down as he answered his own question.

"Friends with band members? It can be –"

I nodded. "I am friends with.. well they called themselves Fairy Law." I cleared my throat. "Uh, may I know what kind of job am I sign –"

"Has a scarlet haired demon best friend? Demon?" He asked again with wide eyes. "I can't believe you are friends with a demon."

"She's not exactly a demon. That's just how Erza shows her.. let's say love? Well, she's got scarlet hair."

He nodded and looked down on the clipboard again. "Hmm. Brown eyed.. Large chest.." He is looking at me intently and it feels really uncomfortable. He nodded to himself again. "Round bu –" Another person cleared his throat and Arcadios stopped checking on the clipboard. "Okay. It seems you qualify and had all the requirements needed."

"Uh, about the job.. Can I ask what is it exactly?"

Arcadios smiled at me. "I am merely an assistant right now. We have the acting-headmaster here. I will leave you in his care." He walked towards us grabbing Juvia in the process and before I could react they were out.
