Ch.5 Neo wizards
(Note from this point on Kasumi will only be referred to as Saburo during scenes when she is interacting with Shido and the other spirits)
In the present at DEM headquarters Westcott meets with a most unusual trio of wizards, who actually level with him on their mission. The leader was a girl about seventeen or eighteen years old with medium pale blonde hair, and wore a gold mask which obscured her eyes, and her outfit was identical to Ellen's usual attire. The second one had long brown hair, and green eyes with dark skin, while the third had short light red hair, and brown eyes, and they both wore white military style outfits. The leader spoke to Wescott alone
"And why is it that three wizards need to brief ME the director exactly?"
"Your logic is sound director; however we are not from this time"
"Hmm so are you saying that the three of you are from the future or something?"
"Exactly sir we were sent by you nineteen years from now to complete an assignment"
"Time travel eh…I believe it so what are my orders to you exactly?"
"We were ordered by you to silence a couple of targets that came here through unknown methods"
"Really so what else can you tell me?"
"Forgive me but that's classified information, we only came here to give you base knowledge of our actions so you know we're only doing our jobs"
"Very well dismissed"
The three girls walk out of his office and discuss the mission right now to each other, the brunette talks to the blonde first.
"Alice are you certain of telling the directors past self about us?"
"Dahlia we must ensure that our actions are known to DEM so they don't interfere, do you not agree Rosa?"
"Of course ma'am, after all our bandersnatches were destroyed by pardox remember"
"Exactly so and I Alice Mira Mathers will not disgrace myself by failing at this simple mission"
The other two applaud their leader's ambition as they walk down a hallway to prepare for their next move. At the location where Lang and his sister are located, Lang finishes briefing Kurumi on their reasons for hating DEM.
"Okay I get it, but why are you even here to begin with?"
"Simple we are here for this"
Lang then shows Kurumi what appears to be a pod. Lang opens it and the only thing inside is something wrapped in what appears to be a blood soaked sheet.
"What am I looking at exactly?"
"This is our little sister, she was… fatally injured by Alice Mathers of DEM and this is how we kept her alive, she's a spirit, the one who bound my soul to Raziel"
"That cloth is so small, is she that powerful?"
"She's ten years old and Alice just claimed it was her orders"
Kasumi punches the wall with an angry look on her face walks out the door without talking.
"So how come they're after Shido again?"
"He's our dad they're most likely trying to flush us out, because we came here to fix her since we couldn't tell dad or mom it was hard enough with what happened to me but tell them that their little girl was killed because of DEM, mom would have gone inverse if we told them"
"So the future is a spirit huh…Could it be me by any chance?"
"….I can't say"
"Oh why not"
"Because it's something that no one in this time needs to know yet since we don't know how long we're going to be here"
"Then why did you come to me?"
"Because you have time based powers we could use, and besides Alice and her friends followed us, they were the actual attackers of that park dad went to"
Lang continues his explanation to Kurumi; while elsewhere at school Shido is eating lunch with Tohka with interference from Origami (who are both attempting to feed him themselves).
"Uh girls I can feed myself thank you"
Shido walks away to use the bathroom prompting Tohka to yell at Origiami.
"Good going stalker now Shido doesn't want to eat lunch with me anymore!"
"I don't know what you're talking about he prefers to eat lunch with me not you"
In the bathroom as Shido washes his hand he thinks of a way to make both girls happy in this situation.
"(Ah again with this I don't know how much more I can take)"
As Shido thinks he gets the idea to ask Ratatoskr for help with this situation via his earpiece. At the floating base Kotori agrees to help him out since he needs practice with this very situation. As Shido gets back to the area where he was eating lunch with the girls and Kotori gets everyone to make up three choices of dialogue for Shido to say which were as follows.
How about I feed the two of you instead.
I'd like to eat alone today if you wouldn't mind
How about you both feed me at the same time oh yeah
"Okay everyone cast your votes!"
The result favored choice 2, but Shido actually said something quite different.
"Hey come one stop fighting like this, how about we just eat our lunches together no trying to feed someone else"
The two girls actually agree but still give each other the stink eye.
"Hey Shido that's not what you were supposed to say what the crap!?"
"What of course it was I read it word for word"
At the location yet again Kurumi comments on what Lang just did on his computer.
"Wow I didn't know you could do that"
"Well I love Kotori, but the choices she gives him are very questionable at best"
"Let me try"
Kurumi pushes Lang out of the way and begins typing her own choices for Shido to say.
"Huh again?"
The choices were.
What kind of panties are the two of you wearing today
Would the two of like to make out with me right now
(Something very dirty)
"Kotori what's with these choices right now!?"
"We didn't do this what the hell"
Lang has to tell Kurumi.
"It doesn't work like that there has to be a vote already started"
"I know I just like teasing him"
Kotori discovers that someone hacked into their computers and fed the choices to Shido manually and destroys the connection until it can be fixed. Kasumi had walked over by Shido's school to keep an eye on him since she feels the Alice will make a move soon, and has a flashback of the day when Yukio lost his body.
"(Manami, Yukio I'm so sorry)"
It was afterschool and the three siblings were walking home from school together, and their younger sister Manami, was riding on Yukio's shoulders, her head can't be seen from the sunlight, at the time Yukio had short disheveled pale blonde hair, with purple eyes, pale skin, and wore a school uniform.
(Kasumi keeps her hair parted to conceal her clock eye like Kurumi does)
"So Kasumi did you study for the English test tomorrow?"
"Please I don't need to study for that I have other means of passing"
"If you fail mom is going to get so mad at you"
"Well we all can't be geniuses you know"
"True but I study just like any other sane person"
"Brother why are you and Kasumi arguing?"
"Oh we're not arguing we're just being siblings"
While the three continue to talk Alice,who is hiding far away on a cliff with a rifle, takes aim at the little girl riding on Yukio's shoulders
"(Mother I'll get revenge for you)"
As Alice puts her finger to the trigger and prepares to fire a shot. Down back in the streets the three stop so Kasumi can run into a small store to buy three ice creams for them, and Yukio does something with Manami that she begged him to do.
"Pretty please brother?"
"Well okay but just once"
Alice fires her shot, but as she does Yukio tosses Manami in the air to catch her as she falls, and the shot hits Yukio in the chest. He looks down and sees a hole in his chest, and coughs up a bit of blood as he falls to the ground as Mananmi falls on his now mutilated torso.
"Brother?"
Yukios's eyes go blank as he dies on the ground, Kasumi walks out of the store with a bag in her hand only to see Yukio's deceased corpse on the ground causing her to scream. Alice back at her spot becomes annoyed that she missed her target and loads another shot. Kasumi then summons Zelel and slows time to find where the shot came from.
"Where is she, where is the wizard that shot him!"
Kasumi finally finds Alice on the cliff after what seemed only like seconds, and attacks immediately with her shotguns blades.
"How did she find me so…"
Is all Alice can say as Kasumi slashes at her head hoping to take it off, but Alice manages to back away to avoid death but not fast enough to avoid being slashed in the eye. Upon being slashed Alice screams in agony and bleeds from her eye hole.
"So it was you Alice!"
"Damn you damn you damn you!"
"Shut up just shut up! I'm going to blow your head off!"
As Kasumi attempts to finish Alice with another slash, Alice knocks her away with quick blast of white flame from her hand.
"(Grunt) I'm retreating for now, but next time we meet I'll end your life Itsuka!"
Alice warps away leaving Kasumi to pick herself up as she sees a bright light in the distance where Yukio was shot, and rushes back to the area, upon arrival Kasumi sees Manami wearing a beautiful white and gold dress with a shimmering veil covering her head, and crying over a suit of armor say please over and over again.
"Manami…"
Kasumi walks over to her young sister to mourn with her over their brother's death, and stops moving when the armor stands on its own. Manami then calms down a little and says one thing.
"Brother?"
The armor looks around and begins to talk.
"Manami what happened?"
Kasumi's eyes widened and she asks Manami what happened while she was gone.
"I heard a voice that said you can save him, and…all I had to do… was become a spirit"
The flashback ends when Kasumi is approached by Mana, who had her memories of their fight erased, and asked the same question she asked when they last met only with Kasumi to respond.
"None of your business Mana"
At that moment Kasumi had accidently let it slip that she knew Mana's name.
"(Crap I let it slip)"
"How do you know my name?"
Kasumi then thinks about something else now, can she trust Mana with the knowledge Kurumi has and avoid conflict, or will she let her anger slip again.
