Ch.6 Aunt and niece combo attack
Kasumi still contemplates recruiting Mana who is still demanding to know why she knows her name.
"Well how do you know my name?"
"….I"
As Kasumi tries to awnser Mana's question a voice cuts her off.
"So this is where you've been hiding paradox"
Both girls turn to see a girl with short red hair and green eyes wearing a white military style uniform. Mana recognizes the style of the outfit at DEM and asks for the girl's name.
"You're from DEM aren't you, what's your name?"
The girl looks at Mana with her eyes squinted as if she was trying to identify her.
"Ah you're Mana Takamiya or should I say miss Ex-number-2"
"I am Mana Takamiya, and I guess you're considered to be the second strongest wizard I assume?"
"In a sense I guess, but you may call me Rosa, Rosa the silver spear second only to Alice the golden Excalibur"
"Well you're an arrogant one aren't you?"
The comment struck a nerve in Rosa.
"Silence! I won't tolerate that kind of talk from a dead traitorous bitch like you"
"Dead? In case you haven't notice I'm very much alive, but I can take traitor"
"Well enough of the banter I got my orders from Alice, so you can leave and I'll kill the bitch wearing the ascot alright"
Mana looks at Kasumi and nods her head.
"No I have some questions for her, so you should leave immediately"
"Okay then…"
Rosa then enters her combat mode which consisted of a form fitting light green and dark blue body suit, with shimmering silver mechanical wings, arm mounted guns, jet boots, and a large silver spear with neon green edges in her hands.
"No big deal, because more pain for you mean more fun for me!"
"Wow they picked a REAL nice replacement for me"
Mana enters her own combat form, and Kasumi walks to Mana's side.
"I'll help…aunt Mana"
"What?"
Rosa charges at the two with her spear which they dodge by jumping out of the way, but because they dodged, Rosa's spear destroys the schools front gate. Kasumi takes notice and summons Zelel to slow down time to move the fight towards a less populated area, and moves the location to a place on the outskirts of the city in a forest area. Despite the change in setting Mana and Rosa pay no attention and continue fighting clashing blade and spear together. The clashing comes to a halt when Rosa soars into the air and begins spinning her spear rapidly causing green energy to erupt from the weapon like a violent tempest.
"Gaspless!"
Rosa throws her spear into the ground with great force creating a small tornado of energy which follows Mana at a rapid pace so she sets up a barrier to guard, which at first blocks the tornado.
"You're going to have to do better than that"
"Oh will I?"
The energy leaks into Mana's barrier creating a sphere around her body, and Rosa lets out a yell causing the sphere to erupt, Mana gets injured from this but manages to recover immediately. Kasumi jumps high to shoot at Rosa, but she her bullets get deflected by Rosa's now returned spear.
"See Mana I don't need a barrier unlike you"
Rosa's gloating distracts her from Kasumi's actual attack charging the light particles into her shotgun.
"(Idiot) Banishing Ray!"
Kasumi shoots a laser out of her shotgun which Rosa tries to deflect again, but the laser phases through her spear and hits her in chest.
"Damn I didn't think you could do that"
"(Not without this at least)"
Kasumi looks at her bracelet which had an oddly shaped diamond embedded in it. Mana also makes a move on Rosa with her sword running her through the chest. As Rosa takes the injury she remembers Westcotts words to the three wizards before they left.
"Remember if you fail you'll all be disposed of"
"(I won't lose) I will not…LOSE!"
Rosa becomes angry and generates an immense amount of energy at a violent rate, she then creates six spears made out of energy and then throws all of them at both Mana and Kasumi, and then rushes at them with her own large spear, the energy spears hold them in place while Rosa rushes and runs both of the girls through with her spear. As Mana falls unconscious Kasumi stays awake, grabs Mana as they fall, and summons Zelel again.
"Time stop!"
Time stops in place and a giant silver clock appears before Kasumi who is holding Mana, Kasumi then jumps into the clock as if it was a portal. The clock then spins backwards ten times and the two girls emerge unharmed, Mana becomes confused at first, but quickly realizes that the person before her had a real connection to nightmare.
"Thanks"
"You're welcome but no calling me nightmare or anything?"
"This isn't the time"
Rosa notices that her attack did nothing and tries to use the same attack again, but this time her opponents are wise to this attack and effectively dodge, which enrages Rosa even more.
"Just die already!"
Kasumi talks with Mana about ending the fight with one last move.
"What do you have in mind?"
"Well…."
Kasumi whispers a plan in Mana's ear to which she agrees to go with it.
"Think you can pull it off?"
"Definitely"
Rosa sets up for her gaspless one more time, but as she spins her spear Kasumi slashes her from behind and zips around taunting her.
"What I always thought you wanted to the chance to cut my head off"
"Then shut up and hold you still you bitch!"
Due to her blind rage Rosa doesn't notice Mana standing below now wearing Kasumi's bracelet, and gathering light particles into her sword.
"Really she had go with this name oh well.."
Mana floats into the air slowly and Rosa spots her immediately and rushes after her next being fed up with Kasumi.
"You really are a fool Rosa the silver spear"
"SHUT UP!"
"Light Dragon Destruction!"
Mana swings her sword releasing three dragon heads that carry Rosa through the sky launching her into the distance critically injuring her on the way. Upon the fights conclusion Kasumi and Mana group together again, and Mana brings her question up again.
"Well I'm waiting for my awnser"
"…Fine"
Kasumi explains to Mana her story and manages to convince her that the story is in fact true.
"Wow my brother a daddy at such a young age"
"Well there now you know see you later"
"Wait Kasumi why I don't we work together maybe we could…"
"I don't think so"
"Why not I mean we're family right?"
"You have no right to say that to me"
"What"
"I'll accept that we share the same blood, but we are not family"
"Why do you say that?"
"I don't think I have to explain myself to DEM trash"
Kasumi warps away after taking her bracelet back from Mana who just stands there a little saddened at her niece's words when Lang approaches her from behind.
"Please don't be sad Mana"
Mana recognizes him from Kasumi's story.
"You're Yukio am I right?"
"Yes…Kasumi was hurt really badly by DEM and once by you"
"I hurt her?"
"I believe that you weren't trying to hurt her, but she holds grudges"
"So do you trust me?"
"I do, Even though we've only met a couple of times...and if it makes you feel better I think she may be starting to forgive you, she did call you aunt Mana after all"
Lang extends his arm to shake Mana's hand, to which she happily complies and welcomes her to their team, but also neglect to mention who else they've been working with recently.
(Note: In the next chapters to come I will be making references to video games and other anime through various attacks that will used like in this one)
