Rachel was currently experiencing the weirdest day of her life. It was as though H.G. Wells had shown up in his time machine to transport her to a parallel universe, however there was no Tempus trying to remove her from existence it would seem. She frowned at her own thought; probably likening herself to Superman said something negative about her ego…

Regardless, the fact remained that The New Adventures of Lois and Clark were arguably the best incarnations of the iconic comic characters, although the visual effects were often laughable due to budgeting and technological constraints. She was getting side-tracked again.

So far the hockey team had showed up at her locker before homeroom to apologise to her and she quotes "their Neanderthal ways", that was from Stoner Brett of all people. Next, came the basketball team. They gave her vegan "I'm sorry" cookies, whilst they apologised, (Rachel was already impressed that they knew what vegan was). That was as she made her way to the Auditorium during recess.

Finally, the football team made their appearance. It was during lunch and Rachel had noticed that her friends were suspiciously absent all day. She knew that they had been responsible for the Jocks abrupt change in attitude. She was also pretty sure that Quinn had orchestrated the whole ordeal as well; she couldn't even find it within herself to be angry at the blonde for disobeying her and getting revenge. At least no one was physically harmed or publicly humiliated.

Rachel was sitting on the stage, contemplating how she was going to handle the three meddling teenagers in her life, when the door to her right creaked open and the members of the football team all crept in- minus Finn. The small singer slowly got to her feet, not liking how much small she was sitting down.

"Hello, how can I help you?" Rachel refused to let them drag her down to her level, (ignoring her little blip in judgement when she did give them a taste of their own medicine. She hoped for the best but prepared for the worst. She wanted to believe these boys were also here to apologise but she wasn't naïve, they could just get aggressive again.

To her surprise, it was Azimio that steeped forward, once the team had halted their progression at the bottom of the steps leading up to the stage where she stood. She found it interesting, how she was literally on the higher ground.

"Um, right. So… Berry. You- we shouldn't have been such complete assholes to you as you are nothing but an amazing talented individual… and we were just jealous that with your," The boy grimaced as he forced himself to regurgitate the words that were drilled into his head last night, meanwhile Rachel tried not to laugh. Those words, coming from his mouth, were simply ridiculous. "spectacular voice, you'll be blowing everyone away on Broadway while we all remain Lima Losers. So, yeah, sorry."

Rachel cast her eyes over the clearly uncomfortable group. "You guys aren't Lima Losers, you simply need to… channel the effort that you used to torture me with into school or football." Rachel stepped forward, "You guys do have the talent to be a team worthy of scholarships and Championships, if you just stopped fighting amongst yourselves. Thank you for your apology though, however it means nothing if you don't cease your antisocial behaviour against others too."

The boys looked between themselves," We'll um, think about it."

Rachel shrugged, "Something's better than nothing, I guess."

There was no Glee today, so Rachel had to wait until the end of school to see Quinn, aside from quick glimpses of her in their shared class. It was obvious that she was being avoided. It was only when she was walking to her car that she saw her cheerio leaning up against it. Correction, her cheerio friend.

"Hello, Quinn." Rachel smiled as she noticed Quinn had her hands folded behind her back and was chewing on her lip nervously.

"Hey Rachel, Dave said he's going to crash with Puck tonight. How was your day?"

Rachel contained her grin; those boys were scared of her. "It was full of surprises."

She watched as Quinn tried to be casual, replying with a nonchalant, "Oh". That in itself gave her away as Quinn would be asking her questions in any other circumstance. Rachel decided not to announce herself for once and gave a frozen Quinn a hug.

"Thank you, Quinn." The cheerio tensed even more and Rachel was slightly worried she was going to snap a muscle or something.

"I don't know what-"

"Quinn." Rachel cut her off, not wanting her friend to dig herself a hole.

"You're so welcome Rachel," Quinn sighed contentedly as she finally let herself relax into the embrace, delighted that she hadn't upset her again. "Maybe school can be a bit peaceful for once huh?"

Famous last words, Rachel thought.

It turned out, however, that Quinn was correct. Rachel was able to go to school and enjoy the experience for the first time in her school career.

The jocks either ignored her or gave her a nod of acknowledgement. The bullying had all but stopped. And the gleeks were even less hostile, probably as they were no longer harassed themselves. Finn had been worryingly quite, brooding even, but he hadn't caused any problems in rehearsal and solos were decided by that damn hat that Schue was so obsessed with.

They ended up taking Regionals easily, Sectionals was to be after Christmas and so for the time being, they were simply doing the weekly assignments and enjoying themselves.

The Berry-Karofsky household had decided to structure their week so they could organise their shopping. Mondays and Tuesdays were just them, Wednesday Noah joined them, Thursday was bro day and chick day, and Friday they all hung out. The weekend was a free for all really, though Quinn had church.

Rachel had become a frequent visitor to the Fabray household and often found herself staying over, although she was slightly confused as to why Judy kept winking at Quinn when she thought Rachel wouldn't notice, or why she asked Quinn to keep her door open when they went upstairs, each to their own she supposed.

Rachel waved goodbye to Quinn before she drove home from school. Dave was going on yet another date with the charming mechanic. Their little gang still had yet to meet the boy that the football player was smitten with, but things seemed to be going well with the couple.

Rachel didn't mind being on her own with Noah tonight, even if it did screw up her schedule. She did worry about Quinn though. The blonde had informed her that her mother was going away for a work conference this weekend so she would be on her own. The brunette immediately offered for her to stay at her house this weekend but Quinn staunchly refused, saying that she couldn't possibly impose on her.

Rachel's stomach felt as though it was on a rollercoaster ride the whole night and Noah had rolled his eyes at her numerous times through dinner and their games of Mario Kart, Super Mario Bros and Lara Croft : Angel of Darkness.

She couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right. It was at 7:47 pm that her fears were confirmed.

The phone had rung, she had answered and her blood ran cold.
