Ch.10 Dark rebirth

For the next seven hours Yukio was subjected to extreme shock torture; Westcott was planning on mentally breaking him to get him to use his Angel abilities for DEM (Since Yukio still has his Raziel powers and can now transform into his armor state at will). Yukio screams through the agony as Westcott watches with a smirk on his face and Ellen watches with an emotionless look.

"Wow he really is your child Ellen, tough"

"Indeed despite the pain he maintains his sanity"

"Hope he doesn't die before we can use him"

Yukio manages to stay sane through his torture for as long as he can.

"(Why did I have to get my body back now of all times)"

Back at the apartment the next morning Kasumi and Kurumi have both recovered and decided to talk about their next move due to the new development. For Kasumi however it's much more devastating since the director of DEM had her siblings under his watch. Kurumi decides to go off on her own to save Shido herself since without Yukio they were already at a disadvantage. While Mana and Origami try out their own idea since they feel that Kasumi is emotionally handicapped at the moment. So without anywhere else to turn Kasumi decides to get desperate she goes to Shido's home hoping to find Tohka, Yoshino, and Kotori then she would try to make contact with Miku, and the twins as a final resort plan. After much trial and error she actually manages to round up the group of spirits who all wanted to help Shido.

"(I didn't want things to get this far but they left me no choice)"

In the dead of night Mana and Origami decide to find where the small DEM group was operating and decided check the obvious destroyed building. As they fly toward the front of the building they see someone standing atop the building, though they didn't realize who it was, it was actually Yukio except he's wearing a black suit with black gloves and black boots. He points towards the grounds as to signal to the girls that he wishes to talk on the ground; to which the girls complied and met him on the ground. On the ground he speaks to them, it's then that they realize who he is.

"You two are trespassing on DEM property I ask that you leave immediately"

As soon as Mana hears his voice she is shocked.

"Yukio is that you?"

"Yukio? I don't know who you're talking about my name is Ivan Mathers"

Mana looks horrified at her nephew since she realized what had a happened to him instantly. Origami who never learned Yukio's actual name asks Mana why she looks so horrified.

"Mana do you know this guy?"

"He's Lang but his real name is Yukio"

Origami then looks a little shocked.

"What happened to him?"

"Westcott probably tortured him until he forgot who he was"

"I don't appreciate being left out of conversation, and to be clear I am not this Yukio, I am Ivan Mathers the son of Ellen Mira Mathers the strongest wizard of DEM and its brilliant director Sir Isaac Ray Pelham Westcott"

Mana draws her weapon to fight Yukio to bring to his senses with Origami ready to help.

"Don't worry Yukio I'll rescue you first"

"You have no intention of leaving; then you leave me no choice"

Yukio extends out his arms and transforms into his Raziel form only now due to the torture he went through the once beautiful and pristine armor was cracked on one side and the cape had a hole in it even the cracks showed red inside. He was without his beloved lance of Longinus and now used two dual blades he wielded back handed; the blades were black with red edges.

"Mana is this person of importance to you?"

"Yeah I'll explain later"

"Alright then"

Origami open up by firing shots from her blasters only for Yukio to deflect them with accurate precision with his blades while Mana attempts to slash him down, but he jumps out of the way this pattern repeats for at least a few minutes without any progress even when Yukio gets aggressive and starts attacking Mana as well, but their blades only cross even if he's using two. Mana's sheer ability as a wizard allows her to keep up and block the two blades.

"I've had just about enough of this tedious battle"

Yukio manages to knock Mana back a little leaving a small opening which was enough time for him to execute a new technique.

"Now I will end this with my new technique!"

Yukio crosses his dual blades then dashes at Mana performing three spinning slashes and dashes past her, he then performs one more dashing slash past Mana before turning around and performing a cross-shaped slash that radiates energy and explodes on Mana.

"Ritual of Devastation!"

The attack was so fast that Mana couldn't defend against it in time and the result was her falling unconscious from the power technique. Yukio then sets his sights on Origami but before he can make another move Origami and Mana are teleported away by Kurumi, who used her shadows to make a quick escape also realizing defeating this opponent would be difficult. The only truly painful thing to do now is telling Kasumi what had happened to her brother. Feeling like he had no more business outside, Yukio returned to the inside of the building after reverting to his human form. Upon returning to Ellen she gives him a look of pride as she compliments his skills.

"Did my display please you…mother?"

"Yes Ivan you do both of your parents proud"

Alice was never informed of Yukio's true origins and makes no effort to upstage him. Although for some reason Ellen seemed to favor Yukio over Alice the most likely reason is because he reminds her of Westcott due to being a boy.

"Soon your father will express his satisfaction with your power as well in the meantime continue succeeding"

"Yes mother as you wish"

Yukio exits the room, and Ellen seemed to be pleased with the current situation, but Westcott's feelings remained unknown.
