As both the sheriff and Derek drove towards the veterinarian office of Alan Deaton with Derek laid out in the back of the sheriff's police car with his shirt wrapped around his non-healing leg. John Stilinski took this moment to ask Derek

" I'm not sure if I should even ask but would you care to explain Derek why exactly you were in the woods with a wolf trap wrapped around your leg at ten o' clock at night?"

Then Derek decided to tell the sheriff the truth by telling him

"Sheriff I've been stuck in that wolf trap for about three hours so when I was walking around in the woods it was about seven o' clock and I had just been clearing my own head when it happened."

Derek then winced as the Sheriff drove over a pothole in the road which suddenly caused the squad car to vibrate as an after affect. The wolfsbane that Derek's lower leg was covered in was beginning to sting he suddenly realized.

While Derek was biting his lip in an effort towards not totally losing it from the pain the sheriff then declared that the two of them had finally reached the vet's practice.

As soon as Derek looked up he saw Alan Deaton walking towards the door of the squad car due to the Sheriff had already called him when both himself and Derek had just started heading Deaton's way.

Deaton then chose to whisper to Derek only so that he would hear

" you think that you liked getting hurt as much as you show up at my practice Derek,"

Then helped Derek disentangle himself from the back of the sheriff's car as he wrapped an arm around the middle of Derek's chest and then helped Derek almost hop to the door.

As soon as Derek reached the back room of Deaton's practice Deaton helped Derek to strip down to his boxers after wetting the jeans around the wound so that it would help the jeans unstick themselves from the wound. Then as soon as the both of them had managed to get Derek's dark black jeans off with the help of the sheriff then Deaton told the sheriff that he could leave.

Reluctantly the Sheriff left but only after Deaton had told the sheriff that he had called Derek's uncle ahead of time just after he'd called Deaton.

As soon as John Stilinski had left the practice Derek suddenly yelled out due to Deaton's prodding at the wound.

"Deaton are you trying to kill me!"

Derek yelled at Deaton mainly in pain rather than in anger towards the veterinarian, as the vet was attempting to clean all of the wolfsbane from Derek's wound.

"Well we would not be in this very situation if you were able to control your anger a whole lot better Derek,"
the voice of his Uncle Peter suddenly said.

Which caused Derek's own head to spin towards the entrance of the practice, to see his own uncle Peter standing there with a signature smirk on his face.

" Oh shut up,"

These were the first words that both came to mind as well as out of Derek's mouth to his uncle as Derek was wincing both inwardly and outwardly as Deaton was cleaning out the wound.

"If you were not about to transform for the first time tomorrow, regardless of the fact that a steel wolf trap showed your leg affection I would put you over my knee right now Derek."

Were the words which Derek's own Uncle told him with a facial expression that showed that in every meaning of the sentence was true.

"Not meaning to draw any attention away from this disciplinary speech, but Derek I need to know, could you tell if there was any wolfsbane on or near the trap?"

Were the words that which Deaton asked as he inspected the wound on Derek's ankle as he prodded and cleaned out the wound which was causing Derek so much grief.

"Yeah there was, I'm absolutely sure of it Deaton because I can still feel the stinging sensation in my leg Deaton,"

Were the words which Derek said to Deaton as the veterinarian continued cleaning out the wound. Then as Deaton began bandaging up the wound which had been the cause of everyone's grief and troubles today. As Derek was just about to jump down from the examination table Peter suddenly placed his right hand in the middle of Derek's chest.

This followed by the statement

"Not so fast Derek, wait until Deaton tells you that you can leave,"

And the tone which was used to tell Derek this statement was said in a very no-nonsense, do not test me kind of voice. A sound which demanded obedience and which meant no questions asked when it came down to it. Upon hearing a noise come from the other side of the room Derek looked over to see Deaton walking towards him with a pair of crutches. After handing the crutches to Peter as Deaton helped Derek to get down off of the examination table, he looked at Derek and then said told him.

" I want you to stay off of this leg, Derek, I mean it, no getting out of bed, the only time you use these crutches is for getting to the bathroom."

Derek nodded and then listened to Deaton as he continued on to tell him that this was the only way for Derek's leg to be healed by his transformation tomorrow night. For any major type of motion on the ankle could slow the healing down, so that his ankle won't be healed in time. As soon as Deaton had finished Peter nearly had to carry Derek out to his car, followed by nearly having to physically place Derek in the passenger seat.

As soon as Derek was in the car Peter told Deaton thanks and then drove off with Derek, silently brooding in the passenger's seat.
