Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter
Remus sat up and rubbed his eyes. His body was sore but most of his cuts had healed, the worst few were just small scabs now. He looked over at the gifts he'd wrapped a long time ago. They were sitting neatly on his desk, waiting patiently to be presented. Lilly's gift was next to them, he hadn't spent as much money on hers, he knew she'd love it though. He stood and stretched before going to pick out an outfit, something Sirius would like but stoic enough to celebrate with the family. When he'd decided on an outfit and gathered his gifts he set out for the fireplace and was soon stepping from the green flames into the Potter's house.
"Remus love!" Sirius beamed as he hurried to hug Remus who was attempting to brush himself off without dropping the presents.
"Happy Christmas Sirius." Remus smiled as he let himself be hugged. "I'm surprised you're up so early." He said, checking his watch as he put the gifts under the tree. It was 7am on the dot and here was Sirius, up with a smile.
"I was waiting for you since 6." Sirius laughed and rubbed pulled Remus into a kiss. "I missed you. If I had to wait much longer I might get carpal tunnel." Sirius said as he pressed against Remus. Remus laughed and when he finally looked around the Potter residence he was sure he was having some kind of hallucination. Some drug induced hallucination that made everything he saw obnoxiously bright green and horrifyingly bright red. "Prongs and I decorated." Sirius beamed puffing out his chest proudly.
"It's...bright." Remus mumbled as he allowed himself to be pulled along towards what he guessed was Sirius's bedroom. When Sirius pushed the door open his eyes landed on James who was sleeping on blue sheets in what could only be described as Sirius's bedroom. There were so many posters the walls were barely visible and James was practically swimming in black dog stuffed animals.
"Prongs." Sirius huffed as he slapped the sleeping boy upside the head.
"Not now Lilly." James moaned as he rolled over, falling off the bed.
"Lilly's not here mate." Sirius said kicking James who blinked slowly up at them.
"Morning Lupin." James mumbled.
"Morning Potter." Remus nodded.
"Get out. I need my sexy Remus time." Sirius huffed stomping his feet quote like a peeved child about to have a tantrum.
"We could always do it on James's bed." Remus offered.
"No! No! Let's not do that!" James was on his feet and out the room in a flash.
"Good one darling." Sirius said making kissy faces at Remus who merely rolled his eyes before flopping back on the bed and looking lustfully up at the wolf.
"Why was he in your bed anyway?" Remus asked as he began very slowly and not at all sexily undressing himself. Well, he didn't think it was sexy, but in Sirius's eyes Remus was a god of sexy and anything he did was to encourage the dog to shag him immediately.
"Dunno but please do hurry." Sirius said as he twisted around on the bed needily.
"I missed you too." Remus smiled as he climbed atop his boyfriend with a broad smile that was far more beautiful than his usual shy smiles.
They finally emerged from the room at 7:40 and headed to breakfast where the rest of the family was already eating. Mrs. Potter gave them an amused smile as she served them. "Have fun dears?" She asked. Remus nearly choked on his juice.
"Yes." Sirius responded beaming as he began cutting his pancakes. When that was done and James and Sirius were nearly jumping in their seats the group moved to the other room to open presents.
"Sorry honey but we didn't really know what to get you so we got what James or Sirius would want." Mrs. Potter said to Remus, offering him the single present from the pile they'd gotten him.
"Mum! You could have asked us!" James crossed his arms as he piled all the ones that were addressed to him.
"We all know how well you are at keeping secrets." Mr. Potter said laughing at his son.
"Me?" James looked wounded. "It's Sirius who can't keep a secret to save his life!"
"Sure throw me under the bus." Sirius laughed.
"It's fine really." Remus said as he pulled the paper off the maroon jumper. He smiled and held it up.
"Remmy, it's perfect." Sirius grinned.
"Yes it is thank you." Remus smiled at the Potters and ran his fingers across the thick, soft red wool. James was tearing paper off his gifts excitedly, throwing paper every direction and revealing candies, a broom servicing kit, his own luxurious sweater in an emerald, and a stuffed stag the size of a regular teddy bear. Sirius was doing much the same as James, sending paper flying revealing much of the same, candies, broom servicing kit, a grey sweater, and a rather large stuffed black dog, about the size of a regular dog. The candy and sweaters were from the Potters and the broom servicing kits the two had gotten each other. Remus had gotten them stuffed animals from a pricey store that promised life like stuffed friends that would win over any, at a steep cost. He'd gotten Lilly a pack of quills and charmed them to never run out of ink, effectively making pens. James had gotten him a large collection of candies and Remus was quick to start munching on some chocolate. Sirius and James were hurrying to put their things away in their rooms while Remus helped clean up the masses of paper. Mrs. Potter began cooking their big turkey dinner. Mr. Potter went to get James's grandparents, James and Remus began playing chess on James's bed while Sirius sat curled up on Remus's lap napping. Remus won and then Sirius woke up and demanded alone time with his darling. James, thinking they were going to have more sexy wolf time, was quick to leave, despite it being his room. Sirius stood and fumbled in his pocket for a moment before pulling out a paper clip he'd taken from James's desk and bent into a spring. Remus thought it was for some kind of prank he was plotting against James until Sirius held it out to Remus. Remus, who was quite confused about the spring, took it warily, wondering what he should be doing with it. He tried to think if Sirius had told him about any prank involving a spring but nothing came to mind. He looked at Sirius quizzically. Sirius blushed and took the spring, pushing it onto Remus's finger were a wedding ring would normally go. "Si-Sirius." Remus mumbled looking at it. He spun it on his finger a few times. "Is this-?"
"Yes." Sirius blushed, looking at his shoes.
"And I got you a stupid stuffed animal." Remus laughed before grabbing Sirius by the front of his shirt and pulling him in for a kiss. Sirius was not expecting that response; it was so un-Remus. Remus usually slipped his arms around his boyfriend to pull him in for a kiss, or simply peck him sweetly, Remus was never the one to pull Sirius in for a passionate kiss, it was usually the other way around. Sirius enjoyed the change and knew it would be rare.
"I liked my dog." Sirius said when the broke for air. Remus smiled indulgently before going over to James's desk and rifling through it until he found a paperclip and twisted it to match his own.
"Here." Remus said as he handed Sirius the ring before walking out of the room leaving Sirius stunned. A good stunned. A stunned that meant he was happy and had a rung on his finger that said Remus loved him. It said Remus wanted everyone else to know that Sirius was his, a mark of possession and Sirius was stunned by it. He wanted to belong to Remus, and he wanted Remus to belong to him. And no matter how long he sat on Remus's lap, or how many pet names he shouted at Remus, or how many people he scared away from even being Remus's friends, he knew none of that would show Remus loved him too. It was just Remus putting up with him, but this ring, this small paperclip ring that was twisted around his finger meant that Remus wanted him too. It meant that Remus wanted everyone to know that Sirius belonged to him just as much as the other way around. And that gave the dog pause, good brilliant smile enduing pause. And when Sirius finally followed Remus's footsteps out of the room, he had a big goofy smile on his face.
