Next chapter is going to be the epilogue! Woohoo! Then I'm done. I'm grateful for everyone who liked this fic, or reviewed, favourited and followed this story; though like all good things, they must come to an end.
I started this story in a bad mood and I think I sort of quickly drifted away from that into more of a light hearted tale, although now I've started to get back into the way of it- at the end.
There were about three different plans for this that I kept forgetting to write down, so then I did write a rough one down and forgot the details of how the plot wove together.
Now I'm wingin' it again, and pretty happy about it.
DISCLAIMER: I do not own glee.

Rachel kicked off her shoes as she entered Quinn's room.
The cheerleader closed the door over until there was only a small opening. "My mom shouldn't be back for a while so we pretty much have the house to ourselves."
Rachel nodded absentmindedly and stuffed her hands in her pockets.
"Right, let me see your back then."
The brunette bit her lip, "Do you really have to?" Quinn simply crossed her arms and arched her eyebrow. Rachel sighed, that was too damn attractive. In all honesty though she wasn't entirely comfortable with taking her top off in front of Quinn.
Quinn seemed to notice that she was feeling shy because her eyes softened and she stepped closer, taking Rachel's hands in her's.
"Look, just lie down on your stomach and I'll pull your shirt up at the back. It doesn't need to come off completely."
Rachel nodded. That didn't sound to bad. She lay down and then felt the bed dip, then a weight settled on her lower back.
She felt her shirt being pulled up, and kind of wished she had worn a sexier bra rather than her black sports one. (Although, she had hoped to wriggle her way out of this whole thing.) Her shirt ended up bunched up under her arms and she heard Quinn gasp. Then a hand touched her back.
Rachel yelped and bucked.
"Oh my gosh, Rachel are you alright? Did I hurt you?" Quinn asked, her hands hovering over her, now afraid to touch any skin.
The singer chuckled embarrassedly, "Sorry, no. Your hands are cold, that's all."
Quinn rolled her eyes, "You acted like I just electrocuted you."
"Well you kind of do. I get chills that multiply around you."
Quinn laughed, "Do you practice these?"
"Nope. They are all improv, which is why that last one sounds rather clumsily worded."
Quinn shook her head with a smile, and looked back at the discoloured skin. It honestly didn't look severe, but the fact that her father had done this to her...
She shifted down on the bed and carefully bent down and began to press gentle kisses to the heated skin. She noticed Rachel wriggling a bit as she kissed her way up her back, and smirked at the fact she was turned her on.
She got up to her neck and Rachel huffed, then she quickly yanked her shirt off and dropped it on the floor. Quinn was surprised but had no complaints, instead she managed to roll her girlfriend over and continue her quest.
Rachel whimpered as Quinn moved her lips to brush along her neck. Her hands gripped Quinn's shirt tightly, and she bent her legs so her knees framed Quinn's legs.
She shivered as her girlfriend licked her skin and she squeezed her eyes shut. She needed to hold on to something and moved an arm to wrap it around Quinn's waist.
As if Quinn sensed her need to grip something, the cheerleader reached back and guided her small hands down to her ass.
"Oh my god, "Rachel breathed. She could feel the soft flesh under her palms. Her hands were on Quinn's ass.
The cheerleader could feel Rachel's soft breasts pressed against her own and clenched her thighs. She decided to be a little more daring and use her hand to cup one of them in her hand and flick the nipple with her thumb.
Rachel moaned and bucked her hips in response, whilst Quinn mewled and those hands squeezed her butt.
Immediately Rachel began to apologise and shyly pull Quinn's hand away. "I'm sorry, I'm not ready for... It's just a bit too..."
Quinn nodded quickly, "It's alright, I think I got a bit carried away."
They both stared at each other for a few minutes, feeling a bit awkward. "I didn't mind... The other thing, though."
The blonde smirked and pushed Rachel back down, moving with her, and nibbled at her neck. She fully intended on adding more hickeys.
Quinn could feel Rachel's hands were still resting on her but she could tell she wasn't exactly sure if she was still allowed. "You can touch Rachel." She whispered into her ear.
Rachel whimpered, and hesitantly rubbed her, so Quinn sucked her neck to encourage her. She had to admit that Rachel's hands on her felt so much better than she ever thought it would. She had thought that sort of thing was just for the other person to enjoy, but she liked it, and she could tell Rachel was enjoying it too.
Rachel choked down a moan as Quinn bit her neck. She thought she would be the one to bite. She heard her girlfriend let out a smug little laugh at her reaction, and quickly flipped them.
Quinn squealed as she was suddenly on her back with Rachel hovering over her with a wide grin on her face.
"Hi."
"Hi, yourself." Quinn smiled. She watched brown eyes glance down to her mouth, and her girlfriend's cheeks turn pink.
Quinn watched Rachel bend her head down then paused and glanced up at her. "May I?"
The cheerleader tried not to laugh because it was slightly ridiculous that Rachel felt the need to ask permission to kiss her considering how heated it had been mere moments ago.
She leant up and caught Rachel's bottom lip between her teeth and pulled her down.
"Mmm..." Rachel moaned, pulling back a little so that she could capture Quinn's lips with her own, and flicked put her tongue out to trace her bottom lip.
Quinn opened her mouth to let her tongue in, but quickly pushed up and twisted so she rolled back on top, just to tease her.
"Girls I - oh my goodness!"
Quinn's eyes went wide and she tried to roll off of Rachel, not noticing how far over they had moved during their make out session, and her girlfriend immediately tried to save her: only to end up rolling over her, and both of them tumbling off the bed with twin squeals.
Rachel smacked onto the floor, Quinn on top, and grimaced.
Judy wanted to laugh at their reaction (she did notice Rachel trying to stop them going over), but she also had to bear in mind that it was her daughter, and they had only just started dating.
"Meet me downstairs in two minutes." She left the room, and stifled a laugh as she walked down the stairs.
Quinn mumbled into Rachel neck, her hot breath on her skin really not helping Rachel's situation. "Please tell me that didn't just happen."
Rachel wished that was the case, because her back really did hurt now. "Maybe I should put my shirt back on?"
Quinn raised her head to look at her, then seemed to realise where they were. Her eyes widened again, "Oh my gosh, are you alright?"
Rachel smiled, "I've been better."
The blonde got up and grabbed Rachel's shirt. When the brunette went to sit up she winced. "Oh."
Quinn frowned, and carefully eased her to her feet. "What's the matter? Is it the bruises?"
Rachel rubbed her back with one hand, taking her shirt back with the other. "I guess, it's all kind of... Throbbing now."
Quinn watched with concern as her girlfriend slowly pulled her shirt back on. It was clear she was in some discomfort and she wished she hadn't reacted so severely. Although, it was her mom walking in on them.
She took Rachel hand in her own and the pair made their way downstairs, nervously preparing for how this encounter could go.
Rachel stood by Quinn's side as they entered the den, hand in hand, she was admittedly quite nervous.
She hated the thought of disappointing Judy and perhaps losing some of her trust and respect. She also didn't like the idea that she may be upset with Quinn.
At least they got downstairs in under two minutes so she could at least tell they didn't dither about.
"Girls, I can honestly say I did not expect to see what I just walked in on. I thought you just started dating?" Judy asked, after gesturing that they sit on the couch in front of her.
Quinn frowned and Rachel opened her mouth, "We didn't expect it either Ms Fabray, we just got carried away. It wasn't going any further than that though. I promise."
The elder Fabray arched her eyebrow and Rachel could see where Quinn got that skill from. "So Quinn's shirt wouldn't have been joining yours on the floor?"
"MOM!" Quinn chastised, looking absolutely mortified.
"No, ma'am it most certainly wouldn't have. My shirt wasn't supposed to come off in the first place." The brunette tried to explain.
Judy rolled her eyes. "If it wasn't planned how can you say that the same wouldn't happen to Quinn then?"
Rachel floundered for a moment before Quinn jumped in.
The blonde squeezed the small hand that was entwined with her own. "Because I was supposed to be checking Rachel's back. Russell attacked her last night. Then I was distracted."
Judy's eyes widened in alarm. "What? Goodness! - Rachel are you alright?"
The singer blushed at the attention. "I'm quite fine in all honesty. Quinn was just concerned and wanted to check me over."
"Yes! And you have bruises Rachel, that's... It's... He really hurt you." Quinn whispered looking at her.
Rachel turned to face her fully, gently rubbing her thumb over the back of her hand, "I hurt more from falling on your floor. I just bruise easily, I swear I'm alright. C'mere."
Judy watched as the little brunette pulled Quinn into a hug, with her daughter burying her face in her neck.
She wished she had someone like that. Even when she first met Russell, he was more commanding than affectionate- though he had his moments.
She wondered where that went when they got married.
She waited until Quinn had stopped shaking to clear her throat.
Rachel jumped and looked over to her, having forgotten that they had an audience as she comforted Quinn. She reluctantly pulled away but held on tightly to Quinn's hand.
"Now girls, under no circumstances is the door to be closed over even slightly. Wide open from now on, and shirts do not come off. However, whatever you chose to do at Rachel's house, is between the two of you." She didn't want to contemplate the idea of her daughter having sex, and she couldn't stomach the idea of it in the home where she grew up in, but she didn't want to force them to do it the backseat of a car.
The girls couldn't look each other in the eye, completely mortified about essentially getting permission to have sex.
Whilst they were crazy about each other, they still had their own issues. They had only started dating and they had a lot to talk about in regards to that- sex was a long way off yet.

After the embarrassing discussion with Judy the pair decided sitting on the couch was a safe bet.
Rachel had burrowed herself into Quinn's side for once, and had her head resting on Quinn's chest, listening to her heartbeat.
"What are we going to do about school, Quinn?"
The cheerleader looked down at the brunette who had tightened her grip around her waist, she wasn't even sure if Rachel noticed that she had done it. She could tell Rachel was nervous about her answer, and she didn't want her to be. She was sure of them, their relationship was one of the few things she could say she was 100% happy with in her life.
"You're my girlfriend. When we go back to school, nothing will change." She answered and wrapped an arm around the smaller girl, pulling her closer.
Rachel lifted her head up, "Are you serious?"
"I've never been more sure of anything. I probably won't be comfortable with a lot of PDA but, to be honest, I don't think that's us. So, how about we just go in and be ourselves?"
Rachel smiled and settled back down, "I like the sound of that, 'us'."
Quinn smiled softly, they were going to be fine.

Today was the day.
"Ready?" Rachel asked. She had picked Quinn up on the way to school, with Dave stuck in the backseat.
Quinn took a deep breath and smiled back at her. "Ready."
The brunette grinned nervously and raised their entwined hands to her lips to kiss Quinn's hand.
The singer then let go, got out and opened Quinn's door for her. The cheerleader smiling as she was helped out of the truck.
Rachel tossed her keys to Dave, so he could lock up, then linked arms with Quinn and headed in through the doors of William McKinley High School.
No-one really noticed them.
They had become familiar with the sight of the two girls walking around together.
Then they spotted Finn lumbering his way towards them. Quinn squeezed her hand tighter, as the boy stopped in front of them and frowned.
"Hello, Finn." Rachel greeted. Quinn was less polite.
"What do you want?"
"I want to know what's going on." Finn stated trying to puff his chest out and both of them internally rolled their eyes.
"To what are you referring?" Rachel asked, hoping to clarify if he meant the fact that she and Quinn were in closer proximity or something else entirely. She presumed that Finn had not come up with the idea to question them all by himself.
"Why are you hanging out with her Quinn?" Rachel raised her eyebrows in surprise at the blatant disregard of her presence, but she felt her girlfriend tense up and worried about what she might be about to say. She kind of felt sorry for Finn.
"I think it's pretty normal for a person to hang out with their girlfriend." Rachel felt her eyes go wide at the cheerleader's nonchalant admission and she followed dumbly as she was led around Finn's frozen form to class.

By lunch everyone was whispering about them. Well, everyone in their year group, most other people didn't give it a second thought because they didn't want to incur Quinn's wrath and they didn't really see how it was any of their business.
Rachel and Quinn didn't bother with the cafeteria, they both had packed lunches and the singer had led Quinn to her secret spot in the auditorium that neither Dave or Noah knew of.
It was a little room beneath the stage accessible by a trap door. It was like her own little office, there was table and a few bean bags.
"Did you put all this down here?" Quinn asked hopping off the ladder, and dropping herself into Rachel's lap who had sunk into a bean bag.
The brunette wrapped her arms around the blonde's waist, "Yep. I brought the chairs in early, and I assembled the table when I got it down."
Quinn shook her head, only Rachel.
Once they had eaten their lunch, Rachel had perched Quinn on top of the table and tried to kiss her. Tried being the key word.
Quinn ended up laughing at Rachel frustrated expression. Due to her being on top of the table it increased their height difference and Rachel had been stretching up on her tip toes and her shoulders and neck ached as she tried to hunch down to meet her.
She unhooked her legs from around Rachel so she could hop off the table. She walked over and plopped down on the bean bag again. She smiled at Rachel who stood by the table pouting. "What are you waiting for?"
Rachel grinned and came over then hesitated, "How-oh!" Quinn pulled her down on top of her.
"Better?" Quinn jested, arching her eyebrow.
"So much better." Rachel beamed and tilted her head to join their lips.
They ended up making out until the bell rang, and Rachel meant it as a thank you to Quinn for telling Finn about them.

GLEE
After they sat through the rest of their classes they headed to glee. Rachel was still inclined to leave the club, the few weeks break had been fantastic for her. Plus, all the time with Quinn definitely boosted her mood.
She had talked about it with Dave, Noah and of course Quinn and they all agreed that if it was in her best interest to quit then they had no problem with it. If they ended up short of people, Quinn would get a Cheerio or two to make up the numbers
"Well, well, well… if it isn't Gay Berry and Fabgay."
"Shut up, Satan." Rachel noted the lack of venom in Quinn's response and the fact that Santana gave her a nod of acknowledgment.
"Hey, don't be so hostile. You'll be coming to live in my domain after all."
Rachel let herself be led up to sit next to Brittany who was sitting next to Santana. The other blonde was staring into space.
"So, whats the damage?" Her girlfriend asked.
"Everyone is pretty much flipping their shit. I congratulate you both, it seems that combined, you somehow manage to create even more drama than I ever thought possible."
"RACHEL!" Rachel jumped at the loud yell of her name.
"Oh, it's the Orca."
Finn stomped into the room and pointed at her. That was just plain rude. "Yes, Finn?"
"You are not gay!" Rachel blinked. It went from ignoring her, to this.
"I am certain that I am Finn."
"No you're not!"
"Finn, I'm about as straight as a circle." She heard Quinn snort beside her and try to keep her laughter quiet, whereas Santana just cackled.
"A circle isn't straight Rachel!" Finn shouted, turning red.
"Well done, Finn. I agree."
"I-"
"Well, look who showed her face. This surpasses all expectations Rachel, pretending to be gay, really? That's a knew low."
Rachel just rolled her eyes at Kurt. He's one to talk of pretending when manipulating his dad and Finn's mom into dating so he could try and get into Finn's pants- that was just creepy.
"She isn't pretending Hummel." Quinn hissed, her hand entwining with Rachel's. The brunette started rubbing her thumb along the back of her hand to try and soothe her.
"As if you'd date her Quinn. Your parents would give you an exorcism first."
Rachel squeezed Quinn's hand. "Actually my mom pretty much loves Rachel, and thinks she's a great girlfriend. As for my father, I could care less."
"W-why are we all s-standing in the m-middle of the room?"
"Yeah, it's hard enough manoeuvring around the place without a human barricade."
"Guys, sit down. I've got an idea!"
Everyone came in and sat down at Mr Schue's instruction, Noah strolling in a few minutes later.
"Right, so-" The curly haired man spun and was about to write on the board.
"Mr Schue, may I say something?"
The coach, sighed and turned back around, clearly exasperated. "Can't it wait?"
"I wouldn't want to waste more of your time." She heard a few scoffs.
"Fine, what is it?"
"I would just like to say that I'm quitting glee club, and just before you start, it is a selfish reason that I'm leaving because I just don't want the hassle anymore and you should all be glad, this is what you wanted isn't it? More solos for you all and you all think Finn is such a great leader even though he does little else but kick chairs. So that's it, and goodbye."
She turned to Quinn, "I'll see you at the car."
Quinn nodded, and pecked her on the cheek, making Rachel colour with surprise. "See you." See picked her bag and walked out to go to the guidance councillor's office.
"Rachel, you can't-" The teacher tried, but she was gone.
"Quinn, girl, you can't let her do this!"
Quinn crossed her arms and arched her eyebrow, "I'm her girlfriend, not her keeper."
Most of them thought it wise not to challenge Quinn, for whilst she seemed softer with Rachel, that courtesy clearly did not extend to them.
Quinn just thought they weren't worth it. She enjoyed singing and dancing, but if it came to it she would choose Rachel every time, besides she still had Cheerios, also S and B would back. Despite that they could bitch with each other, they were all loyal.
They were in a good place, things could only get better from here.

MISS PILLSBURY's OFFICE
"Hi, Rachel. How are things?" The doe eyed woman asked.
Rachel took a seat with a smile. She actually felt as though a weight was off. "I quit glee."
"Oh, wow. How do you feel about that?" She asked, she knew the other kids probably weren't too happy about that.
"Pretty good. Quinn, and Noah were very supportive, David too."
"That's great Rachel, a strong support system is really important. I'm glad that things are going so well."
Rachel couldn't help the grin that formed on her face, "Well, its even better than you think. Quinn and I are dating, so life is pretty fantastic at the moment."
Miss Pillsbury smiled, "I'm happy for you Rachel."
Rachel nodded, her smile softening. "I'm happy for me too."
