Ch.16 Might of the Qliphoth

A few minutes have passed since Tohka and her small team began their fight with the demon king Lucifuge, and despite his increase in power they manage to hold their thanks to Kasum's time based abilities and Ellen's powerful skills. Lucifuge had managed to injury Tohka and Ellen with a few cuts here and there, but couldn't hurt them seriously. The fight began to lean in the girls favor when Tohka managed to cut Lucifuge on the left shoulder, he then retaliated by shooting two purple slash waves from his dual blades at Kasumi and Ellen, but they both miss. Ellen then launches herself and runs Lucifuge through with her sword; Kasumi was not happy about that and shot a shell from her shotgun at Ellen.

"Are you try to kill him!?"

"He's the enemy"

"He's my brother you stupid bitch!"

Lucifuge takes advantage of their bickering and cuts Ellen on her left cheek, and she counters by slamming him against the wall using the blunt side of her sword. He recovers quickly and decides to drop his dual blades and under his helmet he laughs a little.

"hehehe well this is rather surprising; three on one and yet I can't seem to beat you three as I am now…So let's try something else"

Lucifuge raises his right hand to the sky and calls out a name.

"Come to me my brother!"

A shadow falls from the sky and appears in front of Lucifuge; it was a dark version of Yoshino's Zadkiel, red, and dark looking like a demon rabbit straight from hell. He then jumps on the demon kings back and shoves his right hand into the back of its head. Kasumi looks with shock and quickly quips.

"I did not know he could do that"

"Of course you didn't"

The demon roars loudly and begins to attack the three using purple ice from its mouth, and laughs as all they do is dodge since attacking directly now is much more difficult.

"What's wrong the mighty number one wizard, princess, and paradox can't their own against a demonic bunny (laughs madly)"

Tohka is almost about use her new power to go inverse when someone shouts.

"Maybe, but a cute bunny is much stronger than some ugly black bunny!"

A stream of ice slams into Lucifuge and his puppet freezing them in place, but they quickly burst the ice and becomes angry.

"Who's insolent brat who just did that!"

Lucifuge looks to his side and sees Yoshino riding her Zadkiel arriving to help.

"Oh yeah Yoshinon and Yoshino here to save the day, evil doer beware!"

"(Groan) Oh really all I see is my lady Manami's next diner!"

"What.. no one could possibly eat someone as cute as us you dummy!"

"Not as you are now, but…."

Once again Lucifuge raises his left hand to the sky and another shadow falls from the sky this time a darkened version of Kotori's Camael, a jagged halberd which emitted black flames.

"When I burn you alive my little white rabbit then my lady will have her protein for the next week!"

Lucifuge holds the halberd out and it concentrates the black flames around the base of the shaft, and Lucifuge launches a huge fireball at Yoshino and Yoshinon; when yet another voice shouts.

"Now you're stealing my bit come on!"

Kotori appears and deflects the black fireball with her Camael.

"I'm the only flame user around here"

Lucifuge became enraged since now it was five on one with him being outwitted by people he deems inferior to himself.

"I'm supposed to be the ultimate demon king damn it…."

Lucifuge stands up on the darkened Zadkiels head and floats into the sky and both of the demon kings he summoned returned to shadow form and gather around his body.

"So now I'm going to show you all why I AM the ultimate demon king you inferior spirits!"

Lucifuge summons more shadows from the sky which a cluster together and both he and the massive shadow shoot into the sky and beyond the clouds. After a minute of nothing lighting roars from the sky as a creature lowers from the clouds, an amalgamation of all the demon kings minus Kurumi's. The base was the darkened Zadkiel now having Nehemah as a horn, Yuzuru and Kaguya's darkened Raphael's as a pair wings, the dark Camael was sticking out the mouth as a cannon, a thorned crown around the head (Origami's demon king from the light novels), a dark Gabriel was mounted on the back, and finally the upper half of Lucifuges armor covered the massive demon king. Lucifuge rode atop the creatures back only wearing the bottom half of his armor, and his eyes glew purple; with his face now exposed the girls could see his calm smile as he looked down at them.

"Do like it…I call this beast Yetzer hara the truest form of power for the demon kings, and now…"

Lucifuge walks to the keys of the dark Gabriel and plays the organ which acted as the control mechanism for the massive demon king.

"I'll play for you a piece how about we call it….the lament of the angels"

Kotori and Kasumi both say at the same time.

"We are so so screwed"

The other spirits arrive as well; their original idea was to ambush Lucifuge and catch him off guard as he summoned his different demon king brethren and attack , but no one not even Yukio himself knew that this could happen. Shido watches from below helpless and frustrated as he watches the girls fight the giant demon king.

"Damn it even with Yukio's advise I can't do anything!"

Things only get worse since the girls cannot defeat the creature or scratch it for that matter. After mere minutes the girls all fall including Kasumi and Ellen who fall to the ground. Lucifuge laughs madly at his assured victor.

"Do you see yet what my time in planning has achieved mortals, and to think all I had to do was what for the dumbass Westcott and that dog of his to make Manami go inverse"

Shido looks up with an angry look.

"You planned for this!?"

"Well duh I'm the one who gave Yukio his body back so I could use it to fool Manami into thinking I was her brother, I'm the one who joined Westcott to make sure Manami was ready to inverse properly, and I'm the one told Manami that most of the world is filled with bad people (mocking voice) so that her precious daddy was in constant danger"

Shido's anger gets surfaced since now he wants to destroy Lucifuge, and then a thought comes to him.

"(If he can do then why can't I?)"

Shido concentrates very hard and all the girls revert to their sealed forms, as a light comes from each of their bodies, and this time another light based massive angel is created from this light in the same exact look minus the crown and armor. This time he pilots the massive angel while the girls ride atop to help him with the commands. Lucifuge groans since now he wasn't at the huge advantage anymore. The battle then continued as massive energy from all elements and sources, and even without Raziel and Metatron. Kurumi then cooks up an idea that involved Kasumi, Miku, and Shido himself; she whispers the idea into their ear.

"So what do you say Shido care to try it?"

Kasumi liked the idea, but then told something to Kurumi that might help.

"Mom maybe you should go with us"

"Oh and why should I he wouldn't listen to anyone but his closest friends and family right?"

"And that's why you should come with us"

Kurumi then begins to understand what Kasumi was saying.

"So I'm…"

"Yes"

"And that means oh my…oh my"

Kurumi puts her hands to her face which glows bright red at the ideas which flood her head.

"Wow mom I had no idea that you were so perverse…No I did tee hee"

Kotori looks at them and just utters.

"Those two are truly mother and daughter"

The new plan was about to be put into motion as the party command their combined angel to collide with Yetzer Hara which causes them to stay in place for a struggle. Kurumi then summons past selves to carry the candidates over to the top of Yetzer Hara. Once on top the small party of four reaches the control mechanism of Yetzer Hara where Lucifuge sat piloting and not happy to see them.

"Get off my creation!"

He tries to get them off by commanding the beast to turn around but can't thanks to it clashing with their angel. Shido then tries to talk to Yukio hoping to help him free himself.

"Hey son I guess is what I'm supposed to say…(serious) well listen I know you're better than this..so break his control!"

Kasumi tries to talk next.

"Yukio are you really letting that creature control you…what happened didn't you want to save spirits just like dad?"

Next Kurumi says something.

"Hmm just like your dad wanting to save spirits, and always saying he wants to save me despite everything I've done, and even then….

Kurumi looks at Shido with a happy smile.

"(I still can't believe he did it)"

Finally Miku gives her two cents.

"If you be a good boy like my darling I might consider giving a special concert just for the two of you"

Lucifuge attempts to play the organ again but can't control the arms.

"No I thought I was done with you!"

He stands up and begins flailing, falls on his knees, and his body begins emitting a light and he lets out a loud scream, which causes three shadows to leave his body and three of Yetzer Hara's pieces to disappear; Nehemah, the darkened Camael, and pieces of the armor. He begins gasping for air and stands up.

"(Huff) Kasumi... shut up, and Miss Izayoi I'd like that very much"

Kasumi runs and hugs her brother who in turn hugs her as well.

"You're back brother"

"I am back….I'm free"

Yukio had returned to normal and as soon as he could he separated the demon kings and returned to his normal form. The party all gathered to get to know Yukio for a minute, and then came their next move to get inside the castle. Inside the castle the three shadows all go into different directions; one finds its way into the dungeon area, finds Rosa, and enters her body causing her to fall and gasp for air, the second found its way into the catacombs where Alice's withered corpse had fallen when the castle destroyed the building, and the third was still wandering the castle.
