Chapter 3 Practice and meeting

Brick, Boomer, Butch and Bruiser with Roger Morko, Philip, James, Markus and Leonard who were all as well 3rd ranking knights, all walked behind Sir Vincent Stalking the IV up to the old stadium where the choice of the knights were going to take place. It was already packed with the people of England, but no sign of the Princesses or their father yet. Sir Vincent Stalking stood in front of them before turning to them with the seriousness in his eyes.
"I have a few last words to tell you all graduates, this battle is a fight of impression for the Princesses protector, they are looking for a wide range of skills, as well as fearless and noble bodyguards for them, each of you has that within you, now put it to the test and use it to your full potential to try and win the title as "the protectors of the royal family", shall you achieve this today we all shall bow down before you, never disappoint yourself, and do the job you have been hit to. Good luck men." Sir Vincent said.
All the knights nodded, stood proudly in a line and looked up at the podium waiting for the king and Princesses to come. As the trumpets blew again, King John, Princess Blossom, Princess Bubbles, Princess Buttercup and Princess Bunny each stepped out walking respectably to their thrones and looked down upon the knights. All of the knights were stunned at the beauty that stood before them. Sir Vincent glared at them to stand now straight and stop eying the Princesses, he walked forward and shook the hand of the King.
"Sir Vincent, my old friend, I am proud and happy that you could come with some of the knights, this protection is really needed. I'm worried about my girls." King John said to his friend.
"There is soon no need to worry anymore your highness, I have chosen the bravest, skilled and noble knights in my training. All from 3rd ranked knights with the most skills in the entire fleet. I do hope that 4 of them will manage to show enough dignity and pride to protect your highnesses." Vincent said.
"I do hope so, especially that my daughters Princess Buttercup and Princess Bunny have so much pride in them I doubt that they would choose anybody today, so good luck to all of you." King John said.
Dough King John only spoke to Sir Vincent Quantum, all the knights felt like he spoke directly to them. It made almost all the boy's pride swell within them, well nearly all of them.
Brick, Butch and Bruiser were a bit worried and going through their skills list as to what they shall show the Princesses, and Boomer was shivering with nerves, he was so scared of humiliating himself in front of his family, his rank and even in front of the entire Kingdome, but that was only half of his worries, what if the skills he shows today will not come into action when one of the Princesses would need help? He would humiliate himself totally. Boomer could already imagine his head being chopped up and spiked up on the London tower bridge. Just that thought made him wet his pants. Quickly all the knights were brought out of their own thoughts and faced forward as the first knight made his way to the centre for his challenge.
First up it was Sir Roger Morko, Vincent reads out that he was training for over 30 years, and only reached the 2nd stage, not further. All the knights had to stuff their fists down each other's mouths not to laugh him out. Even just reading the description of him all the Princesses showed disapproval of him. As his challenge came up, fighting off an assassin, he was beaten and lost his hold as well as almost his head. Straight away all the nation of Great Britain booed him off the stage, he ran scared and crying.
Next came Sir Kevin, he was described as being better at sowing and misting out the horses than his real soldier skills. It proved as he tried to hit a dummy with his sword and bow and arrow. Stupidly he missed so bad that it almost hit Princess Bubbles, lucky Boomer could see fast and react to it, he jumped up to the highnesses, pushed Bubbles off her chair and the bow struck her throne. All the nation, as well as the Princesses, looked shocked at Boomer, he shivered, quickly helped Princess Bubbles up, removed the arrow and bowed even lower apologizing for the hurt he caused before helping her back to the throne. Bubbles tuned out everybody and looked amazed at her knight in shining armour, he was definitely going to be her protector.
Bubbles rose out of her throne, stopping Philip from performing next and facing the nation, her sisters looked at their younger sister a bit confused. Everybody was hushed as she grabbed for Sir Boomer's hand and faced the nation.
"This brave young knight doesn't need to perform anymore, he proved as far as I can tell brilliantly and will be my protector. Will you sir…?" Bubbles spoke out and looked at Boomer.
"Oh, my apologies your highness, I'm Boomer Rowdyruff." Boomer said before bowing even lower.
Bubbles giggled, took Boomer's hand and placed him behind her throne. Boomer turned really red, now that he was her chosen knight, secretly he was hoping he wouldn't. Bubbles sisters nodded in agreement, Boomer risked his own life, just to keep the arrow from hitting her.
The last 4 knights didn't prove themselves any better, last, the 3 other Rowdy ruff brothers were the next to perform. Sir Vincent just giggled and shook his head, Boomer really proved himself more worthy of protecting Bubbles than any other knight he has ever seen in all his years, that was what made a good bodyguard, to drop everything and react faster than the speed of light.
"The last 3 knights to perform for your highnesses today are all related by blood, you already have one of their brothers chosen to be your worthy protector, I hope the other 3 will be chosen too, for it is hard leaving an honoured family member behind. Next is Brick Rowdyruff." Sir Vincent reads out.
Brick nodded and stepped out into the arena, Blossom's interest was sparked as she watched him fight to a very high standard. As well as showing speed, precision and timing Blossom could see behind his eyes that every move was thought out exactly and performed to his best standards.
"My; he is surely showing the great skills as a leader. He will surely be my knight. As long as Buttercup or Bunny don't choose him before me, ah what am I thinking, I am the first so he will definitely be my protector." Blossom thought to herself, quietly.
King John looked at Blossom and could see she approved of his skills. Buttercup and Bunny though already looked like they would send an arrow through his head. As Brick's performance came to a stop the entirety of the nation as well as the King and Princesses applauded his performance. He clasps his eyes with Blossom and saw she approved of him already. Brick bowed down to the royal family one more time before heading back to his 2 other brothers.
"Good job Brick, you even got all of the royal family applauding, even Princess Bunny and Princess Buttercup applauded for you, and it takes seriously a lot of skills to get those two impressed," Sir Vincent said.
"Ah well, nothing so far that I can't do," Brick said happily.
"Even though Boomer was supposed to be up next it is your turn now, Butch you are up next," Sir Vincent said.
Butch nodded, walked out in front of the nation and bowed down before the king and Princesses. Then he started as well with archery skills, first he received a boo from the nation as his arrow shot too high, but Butch quickly grabbed another arrow, sent it after the first and struck in the centre of the target, next he performed his sword skills, with accuracy, defence, block and all the standards plus all the harder moves as well at record speed. That made the nation, as well as the Princesses and the King, applaud with loudness. Butch smiled very wide especially as he saw Buttercup thinking if she should applaud him and approve or just shoot him off. He was lucky she applauded a bit. He walked back to his brothers who nodded, and even sir Vincent nodded at him.
"Last Bruiser." Sir Vincent said.
"Good luck bro." All the other Rowdyruffboys said hugging him for luck.
Bruiser nodded and stepped forward, he really has to pull out all of his training, skills and thought power to impress Bunny, he was sure of it. So he started again with archery, a bit better than Butch, then sword fighting and last he solved a very complicated strategy battle problem, as well as fighting suddenly off a lion who broke out of the zoo. He leads it back safe and sound into his cage. After that drama, he did a few more archery and sword fighting before his test came to a close as well. Everybody, even Bunny, roared in applause. Bruiser grinned standing proudly next to his brothers. It was already clear as day who the protectors are going to be.
"All my daughters have to come to a conclusion, those who they shall announce has without a doubt proven themselves worthy of their protectors. My dear daughters, shall you start?" King John asked his daughters.
They nodded, Bubbles asked Boomer to stand with the other knights, dough she promised him she will choose him again. That was just too good to ignore. Boomer walked next to his brothers as all 8 knights bowed down to the king and Princesses.
Blossom decided to go first. She stood up with her scroll and the sceptre of her father she held in her hand, the medal rested on a red cushion, extra her colour.
"My protector showed excellent skills in all the main fighting areas, as well I can see that his heart is in the right place and he would rather die himself before a hair will be hurt on my head. The knight I chose today is Sir Brick Rowdyruff." Princess Blossom called out.
The entire nation roared in applause, Brick couldn't believe his luck, his brothers hugged him before he walked up to Princess Blossom and bowed down before her. Blossom took her father's sceptre and knighted him.
"Do you Sir Brick, promise me, Princess Blossom, to protect me, from any harm that may come my way, as well as protect our country if we ever shall go to war with another country?" Blossom asked him.
"I do your highness, I will die myself before you shall be harmed." Brick promised her.
Blossom nodded, pinned the badge on his chest and he was about to walk back down until Blossom grabbed him by his arm, Brick flushed a bit, looking at her confused, she pointed at another chair next to her and asked him to sit there to show he was her protector now. Brick turned even redder and nodded, he sat perfectly next to her and waited for the others to finish.
Next was Princess Bubbles who was still beaming with happiness, she asked Boomer to step forward.
"Sir Boomer has no doubt proven he is worthy, thank you a million times that you reacted to my safety so fast, I know you will do me a great service. I hereby knight you Sir Boomer Rowdyruff to be my protector as well as the countries." Princess Bubbles said.
"Thank you, your highness, I will jump to any danger I can find, just to keep you save my lady." Boomer said.
Bubbles beamed happy, knighted him, pinned his badge on and asked him as well to stand behind her. Boomer couldn't be any happier, as he stood next to his brother.
"Good job Boomer," Brick whispered to him.
"Thanks." Boomer said happily.
Next Buttercup stood up and looked at everybody, the applause quickly shut off as soon as it came on and everybody looked at her, most of the knights knew that there was barely any knight that caught her interest, but she motioned for Butch to step forward, the knight got a bit confused himself.
"Sir Butch has shown so many skills I am impressed that they all fit in him. Since he is even more skilled than both of the other knights my sisters chose; so I decided he will be my protector." Buttercup said.
The face of the knights as well as the nation was a picture of shock, Butch had to seriously restrain himself from bursting out with laughter, and he has more skills than his own brothers. Wow, even he didn't believe he was that good, but that he was chosen by the most beautiful girl he has ever seen made him happy, he bowed down and felt the sceptre on his two shoulders as well as his head.
"Do you, Sir Butch promise me Princess Buttercup to protect me, from any harm that may come my way, as well as protect our country if we ever shall go to war with another country?" Buttercup asked him.
"I do your highness," Butch said happily.
Buttercup nodded before pinning the bag to his chest, Butch smiled, but he could see that Buttercup had a few tears falling from her eyes, she was upset that she had a protector now? Butch knew he had to prove to his princess that she is braver than the entire nation put together. Otherwise, she will hate him for the rest of her life, and that wasn't something he wanted in his princess.
Last it was Princess Bunny's turn to choose, she sighs as if she knew exactly who she wanted, the entire nation looked at her excitement thinking there is not one knight that performed today who can make her impressed, but there was one.
"The knight I am choosing to protect me has shown that he is not only strong and brave in his fighting skills, but also respects to protect the nation and any endangered animal, I hereby declare that my protector is going to be Sir Bruiser," Bunny called out.
It was dead silence as Sir Bruiser walked forward to claim his prize from the Princess, he could see that this decision wasn't easy for her, but he promised himself that she will be protected as well as all the animals in the world. Bunny got her father's sceptre and like her sisters, she knighted him, as she pinned the badge on him Bunny felt very hurt inside, that man has stolen her pride and joy. He will pay dearly for being so good.
After all the 4 knights have been chosen the rest went back to their training whiles the knights had to follow a servant to get ready for the royal ball later on in the evening. All 4 brothers still couldn't believe their luck of being the chosen ones for the Princesses.
