Tangled

"We're watching a movie about a girl named Rapunzel who was imprisoned in a tower for her childhood. Sounds like you, Cress, except with, you know, a tower instead of a satellite."

Cress looked at the summary questioningly. "What's the movie's name again?"

"Tangled," Thorne replied.

"I might have watched this already while on the satellite." Cress shrugged. "Oh, well. I don't remember it so I don't mind watching it again!"

Thorne laughed.

"What?" Cress asked.

"Nothing. I just should've expected you've already watched this." Cress stuck her tongue out at him before plopping herself down on the chair cushion.

"Let's just start the movie already." Thorne chuckled again before pecking her cheek, causing her to go a little pink.

Flynn Rider introduces Mother Gothel.

[Thorne] "What kind of name is Gothel?"

[Cress] "I guess she's the villain, so her name has to sound creepy."

[Thorne] "But Mother Gothel?"

Rapunzel is born.

[Cress] "She's so cute!"

[Thorne] "Something bad's going to happen to her."

Mother Gothel kidnaps Rapunzel.

[Thorne] "Told you."

Every year, on Rapunzel's birthday, the royal family sends out lanterns.

[Cress] "Oh, wow… They're beautiful."

[Thorne smiles at her, but she doesn't see it.]

Audience is intro-ed to Pascal, the chameleon.

[Thorne] "Does Pascal talk? Because Kai said something about talking animals…"

[Cress] "Mice, right?"

"And I'll keep wonderin' and wonderin' and wonderin' and wonderin' when will my life begin?"

[Thorne] "She does the same thing each morning? Aces."

[Cress] "She has a beautiful voice."

[Thorne grins at her.] "So do you."

[Cress blushes.]

Flynn steals the crown.

[Thorne] "Seriously, NO ONE sees him?"

[Cress] "It's a movie, Captain."

"Mother knows best. Listen to your mother; it's a scary world out there."

[Thorne] "What a witch."

[Cress] "Literally."

Flynn Rider freaks out about how "they can't get his nose right."

[Thorne snorts, unimpressed.] "Priorities, huh? He's getting chased by a bunch of royal guards."

[Cress smiles.] "You don't like him much, do you?"

[Thorne] "Not really."

[Cress laughs.]

[Thorne] "What?"

Flynn fools the red-headed servants into helping him up a hill/cliff-like thing, then takes the satchel, leaving the servants behind.

[Cress laughs.]

[Thorne] "Still don't like him."

Flynn and the horse have their quarrel about the satchel.

[Thorne] "I like the horse a lot."

Rapunzel hits Flynn with a frying pan.

[Thorne pumps his fist.] "YES!"

[Cress] "I hope she didn't kill him!"

[Thorne] "We still have an hour and a half of the movie left, Cress."

[Cress] "I guess it was pretty funny then."

Mother Gothel tells Rapunzel that she can never leave the tower. Gothel says, "Great, now I'm the bad guy."

[Thorne] "No, duh."

[Cress] "She's in the movie. She wouldn't know."

[Thorne shakes his head, amused.]

Flynn flirts with Rapunzel; "the smolder" and whatnot.

[Thorne, disgusted] "He has no tact."

[Cress] "And you have plenty of experience in this field, huh?"

Rapunzel is released from the tower and gets super excited over the smallest things.

[Thorne nudges Cress.] "She reminds me of you."

[Cress beams.]

Rapunzel alternates between having fun and feeling guilty about leaving.

[Cress giggles.] "Yeah, I like her."

[Thorne snorts.] "And Rider's just like, 'What is going on?' I guess I can relate to him on that level." [He winks at Cress.]

Gothel is in distress to see Rapunzel is gone.

[Thorne] "She had it coming."

"Yep, I'd rather be deadly for my killer show-tune medley— Thank you! — 'Cause way deep down inside I've got a dream!"

[Cress] "Aw… He's sweet. I like him."

[Thorne] "Leave it to you to find the best in people. Anyway, how can he play piano with that hook for a hand?"

The guards come into the Ugly Duckling tavern and the hook-handed guy helps them out.

[Cress] "He's not so bad, is he?"

[Thorne] "Okay, fine, whatever you say."

[Cress nudges Thorne] "You're liking this movie, aren't you?"

[Thorne] "I admit to nothing."

The old, short Cupid guy flirts with Mother Gothel.

[Thorne pantomimes vomiting.]

[Cress wrinkles her nose.] "He's kind of scary."

Flynn Rider uses Rapunzel's hair to escape from Maximus and crashes into a metal platform.

[Thorne scoffs.] "He had that one coming."

[Cress laughs.]

Flynn says his name is "Eugene Fitzherbert."

[Thorne] "Spades, what kind of name is that?"

[Cress] "Your name is Carswell Thorne."

[Thorne] "Better than 'Fitzherbert.' And are you saying you don't like my name?"

[Cress blushes and stammers.] "I-um- no, I like your name... I mean, I was just..."

[Thorne grins.] "Anyway, why doesn't she just use her hair? It glows."

Eugene freaks out when Rapunzel's hair glows.

[Thorne] "Okay, yeah, I'd freak out too."

[Cress] "See, you do connect with him!"

[Thorne] "Does your hair do that too?"

[Cress laughs.] "Yeah, sure. Want to see?"

Mother Gothel bribes the red-head thieves.

[Cress huddles against Thorne.] "She reminds me of Mistress Sybil."

[Thorne's eyes widen and wraps an arm around her.] "Don't worry, Cress."

"Flower gleam and glow, let your power shine. Make the clock reverse; bring back what once was mine."

[Cress] "Oh, wow... I could listen to her voice all day... It's beautiful."

[Thorne] "It's like when you were singing that song about a crescent moon in the desert."

[Cress blushes a little.]

Eugene tells his backstory: him dreaming about being this hero who was rich. Then he decided to become a thief.

[Cress] "Do you like him better now?"

[Thorne] "Maybe."

[Cress looks Thorne in the face.] "You look sad."

[Thorne shakes his head, tightening his grip on Cress.] "I'm fine. Just reminds me of my childhood."

[Cress kisses his cheek, both flushing a little.]

"This is why he's here! Don't let him deceive you! Give it to him, watch, you'll see! Trust me, my dear, that's how fast he'll leave you. I won't say I told you so - no. Rapunzel knows best!"

[Cress] "But he does love her!"

[Thorne] "She's jealous because the only guy who likes her is that creepy old Cupid guy from the Ugly Duckling tavern."

Maximus and Rapunzel bond over making fun of Eugene.

[Cress squeals.] "Maximus is so sweet!"

[Thorne] "Oh, spades, aces, and stars. He's basically the equivalent of the talking mice."

Rapunzel, Eugene, Pascal, and Maximus enter the royal city.

[Thorne snorts at Eugene and Maximus's antics.]

[Cress] "I love Pascal so much, him and his skeptical faces."

Rapunzel's hair is braided by little girls.

[Cress giggles.] "I'm sort of excited for my hair to grow back out now. Then Iko, Scarlet, and Winter could do my hair. And you too, Captain, if you want!"

[Thorne chuckles.] "It would be my pleasure."

Rapunzel looks at the mosaic of the baby long-lost princess.

[Thorne gestures wildly with hands.] "SHE IS YOU. YOU ARE HER. Aaand..."

[Cress] "... She doesn't notice."

"And at last I see the light, and it's like the fog is lifted. And at last I see the light, and it's like the sky is new."

[Cress leans more into Thorne's side, and he drops a kiss on her cheek. Further into the song, Cress starts singing and Thorne pretty much melts into her words.]

Rapunzel reunites with older Mother Gothel after seeing Eugene "run off".

[Cress] "No! He loves you, Rapunzel! Don't trust her!"

[Thorne] "Stars above, I hate Gothel."

Rapunzel figures out she is the princess.

[Thorne and Cress] "Finally!"

Eugene figures out that Mother Gothel had sold out Rapunzel to the red-headed thieves.

[Thorne] "THAT–"

[Cress] "Sh! Something's happening!"

Rapunzel tells Mother Gothel to never use her hair again.

[Thorne] "You go, girl!"

Eugene escapes from the royal guards, landing on Maximus.

[Cress] "I knew I liked Max!"

[Thorne] "Yup, me too."

[Cress] "What about Eugene?"

[Thorne waves his hand absently in the air] "Never mind that."

Eugene arrives at the tower to fetch Rapunzel.

[Thorne] "It took them about 5 seconds to get from the palace to a tower in the middle of nowhere."

[Cress] "Movie time lapse. It happens a lot in Second Era movies."

Eugene cuts off Rapunzel's hair, severing its magical power.

[Thorne and Cress gasp.]

Rapunzel cries onto Eugene, healing him.

Then– "Did I ever tell you I have a thing for brunettes?"

[Cress laughs, although tears are still running down her face]

[Thorne sighs in relief, then winks at Cress saying] "Did I ever tell you that I had a thing for blondes?"

[Cress giggles happily.]

Reunion between Rapunzel and her parents.

[Cress cries tears of happiness. Thorne brushes away her tears, laughing also.]

Eugene/Flynn and Rapunzel get married and they all, including the people at the Ugly Duckling tavern, live happily ever after.

"How'd you like it, Cress?" asked Thorne. She beamed.

"I really did like it! Who was your favorite character? I liked Rapunzel best."

Thorne shrugged. "I didn't like Flynn Rider-slash-Eugene Fitzherbert."

Cress laughed and nudged him. "Yes, you do! Come on, he's not so bad."

"Okay, fine, he's okay."

Cress smiled. "He reminds me of you, a little bit. I think that's why I liked him so much." She opened her mouth, then shut it, flushing deep red as she realized what she said. Thorne smiled back.

"That's why I liked Rapunzel so much."

Cress gave him a hug and he hugged her back.
