It's getting late. Around five in the day to be exact. Today for a meal, Rachel and Lucas cooked some meatloaf.
I remember when I first tasted meat. I was a Kirlia, about half a year after evolving. Shawn cooked some fettuccine alfredo and pieces of chicken meat. He asked if I wanted some chicken in my bowl. My curious me agreed to try some. We both sat down after getting our bowls. At the time, it was the worst holding an eating utensil. It's possible to do now, but at the time, I didn't know how to hold one. Clenching a fist on the fork worked, but it would occasionally slip out, Oh, the struggles. Nonetheless, the noodles were soft, with creamy sauce that tasted really good. They were pretty long though, and I always had trouble getting noodles in my mouth without having a mess. I then stabbed that piece of chicken and bit down on it. But when I tried that first bite of chicken, it was something different. I said something over the lines of how Shawn never told me about this "stuff."
"I wasn't sure if you would like meat, and I wasn't sure if you would eat meat. But I decided to find out. Do you like it?"
"Y-Yeah. This t-taste good! It's really really good." I believe I smiled widely, showing my teeth. By now, there was alfredo sauce on my chin.
Dinner is ready, and I got a seat at one side of the table. The table is a small square. Each side has one chair. I picked the one that is facing the living room. The table is covered with a blue cover, with the meatloaf set in the middle. The meatloaf takes most the space, but leaves enough for our plates to have somewhere to sit. The meatloaf is roughly ten inches long, five inches wide, and three inches in height. It's got ketchup on its top, which is something I do not like that much. But they are caring for me, so I guess I could be respectful and try.
Lucas takes his seat left of me. "Okay, dig in."
The meatloaf is sliced in inch segments, 10 meatloaf slices in total. I grabbed two, and went for some mashed potatoes and green beans.
The meatloaf is really good. The ketchup isn't a bother, it's actually pleasing. It's not too salty, but not too dull. It's got some juice in it too. I was nice finishing the first slice. The potatoes are nice and fluff, and the green beans are slightly crunchy and taste fresh.
I'm eating here, and Rachel and Lucas are on about on what to do about Shawn.
Rachel is looking at her plate and eating, in respect to talking after finishing chewing. She looks back up at Lucas. "Well, they better contact us to go meat him. I'm getting worried."
"Rachel, they will, there is no reason for them not to."
Rachel paused momentarily. "What about Maize? She cannot come over there."
He set his fork down. "Uh."
I force a smile out. "It's okay, I can take care of myself here."
Rachel turned her attention to me. "Are you sure darling?"
I nodded.
"I'll promise to give you information after the meeting, if it happens."
We finish our meals in silence.
A day passed. I'm now alone at their house. It's one-thirty in the evening. I could have napped, but I want to be alert when I get the news. Television seemed to be the only thing.
Before I do that, I feel like searching Shawn's room more. I go up the stairs, and took the door that is on the right of the top hallway. Opening the door, I'm in his room, where I sleep for now.
I looked around, and there isn't much. There is a small television, but what caught my attention was a booklet in the closet.
The booklet had sections of plastic, translucent pockets inside, each with a number ranging from zero to a triple digit number. Each page has the number of current pockets. The pages have twenty pockets. Flipping through the last number is four-hundred, meaning there is twenty pages.
Shawn has a number of cards. He counted the pockets to match the number of the Pokemon from the Pokedex. The first card is a Venusaur. Each card has a neat little summary of the Pokemon, each with their respective illustrations.
Maybe half the pages has about two to five cards. Even more curious, I wanted to see what they have for my kind. Flipping through, I skim down to see a card of a Ralts.
"Ralts senses the emotions of people using the horns on its head. This Pokémon rarely appears before people. But when it does, it draws closer if it senses that the person has a positive disposition."
After reading, I quickly look again. A Kirlia card is indeed in here. Sadly, there is no Sirknight card, so I cannot read about myself, even though I probably know what it's going to say anyway.
Well, that didn't kill much time. It's only one-forty-five right now. The closet door is still halfway closed. I pushed it to the left until it stopped moving. The door however was hiding something unique.
A guitar clings to the wall in the corner of the closet. It's an acoustic guitar. The soundboard is beige with a dark brown circle around the sound hole. I never used a guitar before, but with how thick my fingers are, I'm not sure if it be possible to ever use one. Even with a pick, fretting seems strange too. But what I don't get it, why is it here? If this is Shawn's, shouldn't he have it in his home. On further examination, I noticed that most the strings are missing, three missing in total. I also see that there is some missing machine heads, two on the left side. I guess Shawn never got to fixing it, if that ever was planned.
I close the closet. I take a good look around me. Most of the stuff I see is reminding me of Shawn. Okay, just find something to do until Rachel comes back with news. News. About news, what could I possibly get? Shawn's going to say he loves me, he'll wait for me, and I should. Is that it? Oh no, I'll be released in no time? Even if I get a set date, what's the point?
Forget it. Whatever news they come back with, I don't think it's worth my time. Would hanging with Shawn after his release be worth it? He's just going to get caught again, with Greg being around us, so why should we? I hate this community, why can't they allow two creatures to show affection. Is it because I'm not human? Oh I act pretty darn good, shouldn't ones like me get exceptions?
I'm working myself up, Greg probably knows he's arrested. Greg probably tells himself he's a fool for getting his friend arrested. Yeah, he'll probably shut his mouth up. So maybe it is worth to hear the news, is it? Ugh, there is too much going on I can't tell what to do!
I got the urge to find information on interspecies affection. I don't have a phone for communication, nor a computer. Does Rachel have a computer? I left Shawn's room and headed downstairs.
I enter the kitchen, and see no computer. I know the living room doesn't have one. The only room left is Rachel's room. I didn't want to do that, because that's just evading their privacy, if there is any. Ugh, I really want a chance to check. I went back upstairs, quickly this time. The door on the left in the hallway is the bathroom, not what I need right now. So the answer is the door at the end of the hallway, the middle door. I opened it and it is most definitely their room.
There is a twin bed that is white with a blue and white striped blanket. But what got me is, there is indeed a computer, I think. It's a lot smaller than I remember computers to be. On the dresser is a thin "L" shaped object. It's got a keyboard on the bottom part, so I guess it's a computer. I grabbed it and sat on the edge of the right side of the mattress. I pressed the button with the power symbol. After a brief wait, the monitor turned on. It didn't take too long to boot up, and luckily they didn't enable password protection. The next part is how to use the cursor without the mouse? I moved my pointer finger on the screen to click the browser. Oops, that's not it. I checked the keyboard, and I see a box. Okay, I get it now.
My finger pretty much took half the pad. Nonetheless, I moved my finger to move the cursor towards the internet browser. I opened it up, and I'm greeted with the search engine. I type out in the search box, "Gardevoir relationships."
The searches came up, and the first thing is some illustrations of what I typed. Cute Sirknights, all of them female. They were drawn humanoid, but are beautiful either way. I checked the results, and this is somewhat what I wanted. There were a good amount of search results of a Gardevoir's relationship with their trainer. One page says they will often stick to their trainers, and protect them. Boy, what a let down I am. Me letting that cruiser drive away and all. Ugh. Okay, this wasn't narrow enough
I searched again, with "Gardevoir and human romance." This was much better. I found a good article on one page.
"Gardevoirs are unique Pokemon. They are both beautiful, as well as loyal. One thing they do often is embrace their owners. They will do as much as they can to protect, and in a few cases, risk their lives. But one question is still unanswered in most areas, 'Is Gardevoir and human romance okay?' Yes, believe it, cases of romance like this happens occasionally. Do not get this question confused with Pokephilia, as it is illegal in almost all parts of the world. Some places legalize it, but it's usually the small areas.
The question about Gardevoir and human relationships is a tough question to answer. Most cases were rape, a serious crime. Those cases were from trainers completely a stranger to the Gardevoir. For those who trained their own Gardevoir, rape isn't an outcome. There have been cases of Gardevoir and human mating, but it's usually in a small number of the population.
Should it be okay for those fortunate to "embrace" Gardevoir? Again, there is things to think about. Gardevoir just tend to embrace their trainers, and it's nothing we can change. Another thing to add, while romancing a Gardevoir isn't socially accepted most the time, the majority of Gardevoirs cannot do what human females can do. They usually cannot speak, unless those fortunate enough to learn to vocalize human language. Most places don't let Pokemon in without human supervision, sometimes not at all.
Gardevoir however have moves that humans cannot do. Gardevoir can trap themselves and their owner in "black holes" if need be. They also can tell short future. Both of those are great to have.
The answer, unfortunately, is no. The law is enforced, and not one is going to lift that law."
Well, I expected more or less the same answer.
I saw a tab called, "Videos." I clicked that, and I was greated with another search box. I typed it, "Human like Gardevoir." Lots of images showed up. I clicked the first one, which has 2,384,018 views.
I first see a female Gardevoir on the sidewalk with a man next to it. The Gardevor then waves to the camera and proceeds to say, "Hi guys!" The camera changes to behind them, with the previous cameraman visible. Some type of electronic music is then blared. Basically, any Pokemon who can talk is considered human like, wonderful.
Well, I had enough time with the computer. I held the power button until the monitor shut off. Getting up, I set the laptop back on top of the dresser. I went back downstairs, and turned it on and watched whatever came on, that being an adult cartoon sitcom.
It neared two-thirty when Rachel and Lucas got back. But, something was different when the came back.
I see Rachel come in. "Maize! Someone's here to see you!"
I get up from laying on the sofa, and walked up to Rachel.
"Who is it?" I'm eager to know.
Lucas walks in, and behind him is a familiar person.
"S-Shawn? Is that you?"
This can't be right, it would be too soon. But I see him, clear as day.
Shawn plants his eyes on me.
I let out a soft giggle, and wrapped my arm around him under his arms.
"Shawn, I missed you!" I look up at him. "How did you get out so early?" I felt his arms wrap around my head.
Rachel replied for him. "They called before we left that his crime is dropped. Something about there isn't enough evidence to prove the case."
I let a cheerful sigh. "I'm glad to see you're okay Shawn!"
I kept hugging him. But what I didn't hear yet was Shawn's voice.
I looked up at him. "Shawn?" Shawn is looking at me, with his arms on the back of my head.
Lucas entered the conversation. "He's probably adjusting from being in jail temporarily." He let a chuckle emit.
I backed away, and let Rachel speak.
"Well, we all are glad he's fine." Rachel laughed heartily. She continues. "Lucas, dear, can you bring Shawn in the kitchen for some coffee?
Lucas chuckles again. "He's getting old, plus I don't think he wants coffee right now."
"Well he must be tired after sleeping on something uncomfortable."
He sighs. "Okay, come on Shawn."
They walk side to side to the kitchen and go to the right hidden by the wall of the living room.
"About you and Shawn, be more careful." She giggles.
I nervously laugh back. "Yeah, I know."
"If you and Shawn love each other, that's fine with me." She giggles again and jabs my waist.
We spent the night there reuniting. We had dinner there, and Shawn updated his parents about our relationship. He mentioned that we will stay together, and it will stay like that for as long as we live. It better be too, it came from his hear, so it better be a promise.
Shawn and I got dropped off at home by his parents. A final wave, and we set to enter our home. It's currently ten at night.
As we enter the house, I sighed. "Shawn, I promise to keep our relationship in the home."
He stayed silent for a bit. "Blame no one."
"O-Okay?"
"Laws are laws, don't blame anyone." He took his shoes off, then I took my high heels off.
"I don't want to lose you again." But then something jolted in my head. I'm so happy about seeing Shawn, I forgot about Lily! "Oh no, Lily!"
"Huh?"
"Lily! She's still gone!"
He turned around back to me. "Whoa, really? Since when?"
I choke on my words before continuing. "U-Uh, since you were arrested."
He moved his head closer to me. "Three days!"
I cupped my hands and put them on my chin. "I-I know, I don't know what to do. I'm not sure where she is!"
"Well, what if she's outside freezing!"
"I know! I don't know what to do."
We stood in silence for awhile.
"We don't even have pictures of her either."
"Ugh, I wish we did."
"Well, at this point we can't do much about it."
"I've looked yesterday, but to no avail."
Another moment of silence.
Shawn exhaled. "Well, we should probably go get some sleep."
"After we have a shower, especially you."
The shower was quick and simple, nothing else. The night in bed, nothing much more other than sleep, if you count a quick kiss something. It's nice having Shawn back, but it isn't complete without Lily. I feel guilty not trying to find her, but she could be anywhere. This made it somewhat hard to fall asleep, but after a good hour, I was able to fully fall asleep. I pray that we find Lily soon, and in good shape too.
