Evil Lurks, Rescue Plans Begin
Gotham Underground
To be fair, Doom should have expected that a skinny man dressed up like a scarecrow, a cat-cheetah woman, a man who loved the color yellow, and a bumbling idiot who was as strong as the Hulk would have a base that was literally an old sewage plant. Based on the smell alone he concluded that it had not been in use for several years. Convenient.
He walked around gingerly careful not to step in anything. He has tampered with chemicals before and he did not want to chance turning into a giant eight arm mutant with no intelligence. He observed the others and saw many things that both intrigued him and confused him.
The purple skinned one Doom had noticed seemed to be more of a loner, one who did not like to take orders. He also suspected that his power source came from the ring he wears around his finger. Sinestro was his name, and based on what he had said, he was a Yellow Lantern, a lantern who uses the power of fear as a weapon. Doom thought best to keep this info in the back of his mind for a later date.
The cat girl was a bit more vicious with him. She did not trust him all that much if not at all. Doom could not blame her, after all he did not trust them either, but as much as it pained him to think it, he was lost. He did not remember a Gotham City ever existing in America but he had quickly theorized that whatever happened with the bomb might have sent him farther than he had first anticipated. Hell he might have ended up in a whole other dimension witch the masked man had to think was a good possibility.
Doom was pulled from his thoughts as the cat girl suddenly turned to face him. He had not noticed he was starring. Her yellow eyes narrowing as she let out a hiss much like an angered cat. Doom could only smirk not intimidated at all by her actions. He found it rather cute actually. 'Maybe I could use her as a pet when I take over.' He thought to himself his smirk growing.
He turned his attention to the undead giant named Grundy. Doom was actually surprised that the behemoth was a dead man but after some thought it made some amount of sense. His grey skin, the smell of death that seemed to radiate from him and the man looked like a corpse. The good doctor also thought that might be why his intelligence was lacking, as in-he had none. Doom frowned disappointingly, even the Hulk had some brains to his name, yet this…thing did not.
However to Doom the smartest one of the group was also the weakest in terms of abilities. The skinny man who Doomed found out was named Scarecrow-he had to hold back from rolling his eyes at the name- had a great mind, but the man was lacking confidence. The man specialized in using his fear toxin a special chemical that gives people hallucinations about their worst fear. Doom was very intrigued with this concept, for he has used fear in the past to get his way, but he also knew fear alone would falter when exposed to it for too long.
Scarecrows plan continued to run through Doom's head. It wasn't a bad idea, using the generator to increase the toxin to lethal levels and spread it over the city, but to the evil mastermind it felt a bit too underwhelming. The thought of using this toxin was nice and all, but what after? What was the point of using it? He needed to find out.
Doom looked over the small group as they all seemed to have gathered around the generator for the skinny man to explain what it is, what it does, and how it will be used. The master of fear looked over his team. While they had lost Deathstroke they were able to find a suitable replacement. Granted it was not one he expected but he would take it.
"Let's get started." Scarecrow said. He laid out many different detailed blueprints of important buildings all over Gotham. "The plan is simple. With this magnetic amplifier, I can increase the effect of my fear toxin to more lethal levels. Now after doing some testing I have been able to set up my toxin so that it can go off much like a bomb." The master of fear stated.
"I'll ask this again." Chaeta asked sounding annoyed. "How does this help us?" she all but hissed at the masked man.
"I was getting to that." The masked man mumbled not amused that he had been interrupted. "Anyway-as you all can see with the toxin now increased and now being able to make them into bombs, we can place them anywhere we wish and demand anything we want or else…" the man paused smiling wickedly.
Sinestro raised an eyebrow but with some thought nodded with a small smirk. While he did not enjoy being ordered around by some mere human, he had to admit to himself that this man knew how to use fear effectively. He would have been a great Yellow Lantern.
Doom however had stayed silent walking over gaining everyone's attention. He reached down and picked up a few of the lay outs and his eyes narrowed in concentration. While he did like the sound of this plan, there was a small problem with it. He raised an eyebrow as a certain evil gleam started to shine in his eyes.
The others got very uneasy with his silence and when the man looked up, even though the mask hid his lips they could all tell that they were curled into a smirk. "I like the way you think. However, what happens when these…heroes get wind of this info?" he asked. He had been informed that there where heroes in this world as well.
Scarecrow frowned darkly not liking the idea of some heroes or some hero to step up and stop his plans witch where all possible. He also did not like the fact of what those words implied. His eyes narrowed into a glare at the man incased in metal. "They would most likely try and stop my plans, why do you ask?" he asked sharply.
Doom knew that tone, a tone that suspected deception. Doom had to laugh softly as he could feel the glares all focused on him, even the grey idiot was giving him a dirty look, but he didn't care. "You seem so sure that they can stop you." He stated as if it was common knowledge. "Terrorism is much more than just placing down bombs and making demands." He stated.
The master of fear raised an eyebrow confused over what this man was saying. "What do you mean?" he asked him.
Doom stayed silent for a moment gathering his thoughts before saying. "There are many reasons why humans make bombs. To start a war, to end a war, for revenge…and to make a statement." He stated.
"And what is this statement you want the world to know?" Chaeta asked sounding annoyed but at the same time curios.
Doom looked over at her then at the rest in the room and smirked darkly. "To show them, that all hope is lost. To show them all that their so called guardians…are just as weak as they are." He stated coldly slapping down the layout he had in his hands.
The small team of villains looked down at the layout and their eyes grew wide with shock at what they saw. Scarecrow quickly snapped his head back up at the man in the metal mask. "Are you insane!?" he shouted.
Doom only chuckled and shook his head. "Why so fearful?" he asked. "You had full confidence that your toxin will work. So why not make this a perfect test. To show the world that we are to be taken seriously."
Scarecrow opened his mouth to argue but paused. This man had a good point. If his toxin could be increased to more lethal levels then why not use it to its fullest. He felt his lips curl into a dark smirk as he nodded at the mettle man. "Okay. We'll do it." He said.
Sinestro smirked darkly as well already loving this new plan. Cheetah was still in shock but soon a small smile appeared on her face. She was starting to like this guy. Grundy who held no real emotion for the whole discussion chuckled loudly. "Grundy like metal man."
Doom rolled his eyes but still held his smirk. He looked around at the small group and had a realization that he should have had earlier. They needed more help, and Doom knew just where to get it.
"While we are on the subject. Do any of you have any equipment we could use to build a few machines?" he asked.
Scarecrow raised an eyebrow curiously but nodded. "Yes. I'll show you where but why do you need them?" he asked starting to walk to where they stowed all the tech they had stolen.
Doom only smiled as he followed him. "I believe it's time you see one of my many talents."
Watchtower
Batman was not having a very good day.
The Dark Knight had stayed up most of the night trying to find any record of a bomb threat in New York, unsurprisingly he got no results. He then decided to try and look up some more info on this Spider-Man and see what he could find.
Now this is what triggered his migraine of the night. He could find nothing on the kid. No bio from Cadmus, no lab report from Lexcorp, no fan pages, nothing. He had even tried entering the kids DNA into the server to run it through the many pages of villains that he and the league had kept tags on. Once again he found nothing. That only made his migraine worst.
After deciding to work on this later, he had instead went over the things he had found on the boy. The two that caught his attention the most was the twin gauntlets that was on the boys wrists. Batman had found out that they could do when he accidently activated one of them shooting webbing right into his face. His migraine continued to grow.
After tearing away the webbing that he found was both sticky as hell, but strong like steal, much like a real spiders silk. The Dark Knight while irritated had to acknowledge that whoever created these gauntlets was very intelligent. He decided to ask the boy later where he got them or whether he created them himself.
When he woke up the next day he had the great news given to him that something had attacked Green Lantern in Metropolis. He had quickly changed and had had J'onn bring him back up to the Watchtower to look over and see what it was that had attacked him.
The Dark Knight appeared in a beam of light only to be met by Green Lantern himself with a small frown. He looked up at the Dark Knight and Bruce saw it instantly, the look of small gilt and slight annoyance.
"What happened?" Bruce asked his voice flat and cold as it always is.
John only shook his head and moved his head to follow him. Bruce complied. The walk was mostly in silence.
"I thought it was just another Lexcorp tin can." John said breaking the silence.
Batman looked over giving him his full attention.
"I almost crushed that thing, not even thinking that someone might by inside it." He said sounding frustrated.
Batman raised an eyebrow at that. "Someone was inside it?" he asked.
GL nodded. "Yeah, guy looked a little banged up but fine." He said shaking his head. "I could have killed him." He said softly.
Batman closed his eyes for a moment before looking forward again. "But you didn't." he said bluntly. "Just think before you charge. Don't think I should be saying this to a former marine." He said with a small smirk.
John let a small smirk out as he gazed at the Dark Knight. "Thanks Bruce." He stopped at the door that held the robotic suit. "Good luck" Was all he said as he walked away.
Batman nodded as he opened the door. The first thing he noticed was the bright colors of the metal. The arms and leg pieces where a dull gold, as the rest of the body was a bright red. He then noticed the head piece on the side and walked over to it. The overall head was the same red and the face was the same gold, eyes narrowed and mouth in a thin line.
Bruce's own eyes narrowed as he stared into the eyes of the suit. He walked over to the overall body and started to exam it. It was then that he noticed that the suits chest had a triangular opening.
He heard the door open behind him but didn't turn around. He had a feeling who it was.
"What do you think it is?" asked a strong voice behind him.
"A combat suit, one of the best I have ever seen." He stated bluntly.
"Any ideas what it was doing in Metropolis?"
"Some. Where is the pilot?"
"Hall of Justice holding cell, it was the closest place."
Bruce nodded once, eyes still glued to the triangle shaped hole. "Has it done anything since bringing it up?"
"No. It hasn't moved or done anything." He paused for a moment. "Bruce tell me, is it Lexcorp?"
Batman stared hard at the metal suit in front of him. "You tell me Clark." He said.
The man now known as Clark walked next to Batman, he was dressed in a blue suit with red shorts and cape, and the bright insignia of an "S" stood proudly on his chest. He gazed at the robotic suit in front of him with hard blue eyes before shaking his head. "It's not Lex. He would have been more subtle, and he never liked red."
Bruce had to hold back a small grin that was threaten to show as he nodded. "The suit was custom made. By an expert in the field." He thought for a moment before looking at Superman "When dose S.T.R.I.P.E come in from his mission?"
"A few days I think. He was taking Stargirl for some father daughter bonding in New Zeeland. Some kind of drug trafficking problem. Why?"
"We may need his expertise on this. I doubt the pilot will tell us anything. Even if he did know how it fully worked. Until then keep this door locked and don't allow access."
Superman nodded once before turning around and began walking out followed by the Dark Knight. "While on the subject of strange things happening. Any news on out guest and his claims?"
"There were no bomb threats in New York. Nor any indication that there have been anything being planned."
Superman frowned slightly. "So he was lying." He stated.
"No."
Superman looked over at the man confused. "What do you mean?"
"He wasn't lying." Batman stated.
"So, you think he is planning something then?" he asked.
Batman shook his head. "I don't think that." He said.
Superman was even more confused now. "Then what…?"
"Clark, there's nothing on him. No police records, no birth certificate, no identity. The kid does not exist."
Superman was now very surprised by that. "Nothing? No DNA match?"
"Clark, Cadmus has nothing on him."
That shut Superman up and sent him for a loop. They had records of all the leaguers and villains. To think that one kid dressed in bright red and blue spider themed spandex not having a file on their database was simply stunning.
"So what does this mean?" Superman asked.
Batman shook his head. "A theory. One that I am going to put to the test." He said as he walked off. Leaving an even more confused Superman behind.
It had been around a day since Supergirl was assigned to watch over the teen they call Spider-Man. At first she didn't know what to think of him, she had asked him why he had chosen spiders as his theme. He had simply shrugged and said something about a spider biting him.
Kara didn't know how true that was but what she did know was that this guy was different. For starters he had a full mask that covered his head in full, not many heroes do that. His spandex looked tight showing his physical appearance to be strong but not muscle head strong more like gymnast strong.
Kara also had found that he had a pretty good sense of humor…sometimes. He had made a few jokes that had gotten a giggle from her and some had her rolling her eyes with a groan and some she just did not understand.
He had told her some stories about his adventures and she had listened first out of obligation, but it soon turned into honest curiosity. Some of them where about his battles with random muggers and bank robbers, but he did spice it up with a tale about a super villain he had faced here and there.
Which at this time was making her break up in tears as she was laughing so hard. He had just finished with one of his more humors encounters with the Shocker. A villain who used the power of sonic vibrations as his weapon now while you think this is cool this is the Shocker he was talking about.
The story go's as such. Another battle with the man in yellow had started, and yes it was because he was rubbing a bank. Spider-Man had had the bright idea to quickly web up his gauntlets so that they were no blocked. He had quickly seen Spider-Man approaching and in an act of stupidity forgot that his gauntlets where webbed up tried to fire and instead found himself rebounding and connecting with the wall knocking him out instantly. He never had to touch him.
Spider-Man let a small smile appear on his face as he watched the girl laugh. 'Hadn't heard that in a while' He thought to himself.
The girl of steal took some deep breaths trying to calm down but the smile would not leave her face. "I can't believe (chuckle) he would (chuckle) do that." She said in between laughter.
Spider-Man shrugged. "Never said the guy was smart." He said with a chuckle.
"I just can't believe he never cheeked them before firing at you." She said shaking her head with a smile.
Spider-Man shrugged again a smile on his face. "Hey it was not the first time, and I doubt it will be the last." He said. "Besides it won't be the last time I've been shot at." He said softly.
Her super human hearing heard him and her eyes grew wide. "What?"
"Huh?"
"You were shot before?" she asked.
Peter blinked for a moment before letting out a sigh. "Yup, plenty of times. From bad guys, cops, heroes…wow I've been shot at a lot." He mused to himself with a small frown.
Supergirls eyes where wide with shock at that. "Why would they shoot at you? I mean! I understand why the bad guys do, but cops and other heroes do to?" she asked.
Spider-Man let out a sigh and shrugged his shoulders "Well you see. Back where I'm from there's this guy, who is a real jerk, guys got the Hitler stache and everything. He runs the local newspaper and he has it out for me, claims I'm a menace to society, and well everyone believes him." He said.
Supergirls eyes are wide for a moment before they narrow angrily. "Why would they believe him!?" she asked.
Spider-Man just chuckled. "No idea, guess they can't trust a guy who where's a mask." He said.
Supergirl shook her head. "That's stupid." She said.
"Welcome to my world." He said "One stupid thing after another. From JJ bashing me in the paper to fighting big bad Doom to stop a bomb then wind up in dark and creepy town to now locked up for some reason." He said.
Supergirl frowned slightly feeling bad for this guy's bad luck so far and for another reason she could not understand.
"Well at least one good thing came out of this." He said.
"And that is?" she asked.
"I got to talk to a cute girl who doesn't think I'm a bad guy based on how I look." He said, a small blush appearing on his cheeks but remained hidden thanks to the mask.
For some reason that caused the girl of tomorrow's cheeks to grow hot but she smiled at him anyway. "That's good." She said.
The moment was ruined when the door opened and the man Peter did not want to see right now walked in.
The Dark Knight glanced over at Kara for a second before returning his gaze to the teen in red and blue who had grown tense.
"I have some questions for you." Batman stated coldly.
Spider-Man huffed and shrugged "Go ahead pall, not like I was having a decent conversation for the first time in months."
Kara felt her face heat up again but frowned as well at his statement.
"What year is it?" he asked ignoring what he said.
"2014" Peter replied back.
"Who's the United States Senator?" he asked
"Robert Kelly." He answered back.
Supergirl raised an eyebrow at that. 'Who?'
"Dose a gold and red metal suit mean anything to you?" he asked
Peter's eyes had grown wide at that. "Gold and red?" he asked making sure he didn't hear wrong.
Batman's eyes narrowed. "Gold and red."
Spider-Man remanded silent for a moment. "What did he do?" he asked tiredly.
Batman raised an eyebrow not expecting that response. "What did who do?" he asked.
Spider-Man rolled his eyes behind his lenses. "Just a rich idiot who likes to get himself and all around him-witch turns out to be me- into trouble… He didn't piss any of you off did he? Sleep with anyone you know? Try and hack into your computers? What?"
Batman stared at the teen for a long while before responding. "He attacked a fellow leaguer" he stated coldly.
Spider-Man grew confused. "Leaguer?"
Batman looked over at Kara. "You haven't told him yet?" he asked.
Kara felt her face heat up out of embarrassment "Uh…um…no…sir." She said softly.
Batman let out a sigh as he turned to face the masked teen. "You are currently in the Watchtower headquarters to the Justice League who comprises of heroes from all over the world to combat the evil that threatens it."
Spider-Man tilted his head to the side. "So a super hero team?" he asked.
"Pretty much." Batman replied.
Spider-Man nodded a little. "Okay, so my pal pissed off one of your team mates and he's now in trouble which means I'm also in trouble. Story of my life." He mumbled the last part.
Batman nodded. "I have what I need for right now." He said turning around as the door opened.
Spider-Man watched him go but saw him pause at the door. "What now?" he asked.
"Just know this is just out of protocol, if it was any other time you would have been out of that cell a long time ago." Was all he said as he finally left the room leaving a confused Spider-Man and Supergirl behind.
He looked over at her. "Any idea on what that's supposed to mean?" he asked.
Supergirl shook her head slowly. "Not really sure, but I think it implies that he believes you." She said.
Peter's eyes grew slightly wide at that. "You think so?" he asked sounding slightly hopeful.
Supergirl shrugged. "That's what I got out of it. For all I know he might want you in his own jail cell." She said but instantly regretted it seeing the teen slump. "Or you know maybe he believes you and is trying to help!" she said.
Spider-Man slightly doubted that. Yet he still found somewhat relived as small smile grew on his face by the girl's words. "Maybe. Thanks Supergirl." He said.
Kara smiled at him her face growing red again. "Anytime." She said.
They stared at each other for a while in silence. Kara felt her face grow redder as she suddenly coughed trying to break the silence. "Got any more stories." She asked.
Peter smiled and nodded. "Oh a bunch. Let's see…Ah!" he snapped his fingers. "I like to call this one, the story of the Spider-Pig." He said already thinking this was a bad idea seeing the amused smirk on her face.
Hall Of Justice
Tony Stark had a pounding headache. He felt as if he had maybe a little too many last night and it was now starting to get back at him. He would have thought he was immune to hangovers by this point in his life.
He moved his hand up to place on his head and heard the chain rattle as he did so. Wait chain?
Tony's eyes opened slowly as he saw his hands where in handcuffs. He let out a small chuckle. There where three things that could explain this.
He had gotten really drunk and had done something he wished he could remember.
Pepper had a new idea for how to spice things up.
He had pissed off Fury something fierce.
He had a good feeling it was three since he still had his clothes on. He let out a tired groan as he rolled his head back and forth. "Okay Fury. Whatever it is you think I did? It wasn't me." He mumbled.
No response. Tony let a dry smirk grown on his face. "What, too mad to speak with me? I remember sending you a pamphlet to take a vacation, did you get back with a bad sun tan?" still no response.
"Well, can't say I know you were giving away free trips." A cocky unknown male voice said in front of him.
Tony looked forward and saw a man clothed in green with a black domino mask blocking his eyes from view. He was sitting in front of him sharpening the end of an arrow. 'Archers. Why dose it always have to be archers.' He complained in his head. "You're new. Met Purple yet, I'm sure you two will get along swimmingly." He said cheekily.
The green archer raised an eyebrow at Tony. "You hitting me up with someone slick?" he asked.
Tony smirked. "Didn't know you swing that way. Though the guy I have in mind might be a bit straight…well who knows he loves spending his free time with those arrows." He stated.
The green archer just shook his head with a smirk. "Sorry, but you can tell your pal that I'm not interested."
Tony rolled his eyes. "So sad. Guess I can cross off match maker off my list of future jobs." He joked. He narrowed his eyes slightly as he looked around his room. It was a basic cell with grey walls and iron bars. "Okay seriously what did I do to piss Fury off?" he asked.
"Boyfriend?" the archer asked with a smirk.
Tony glared at the man. "Funny." He said dryly.
The archer shrugged. "Not my place to say. No idea who this Fury is you keep mentioning but I do know you are in a lot of trouble tin man."
Tony blinked and felt himself grow slightly tense. "What the hell are you talking about?"
The archer stared at him for a moment before frowning. "Red and blue may have hit you too hard."
Tony's eyes grew wide at that. "What you say?" he asked.
The archer shook his head. "Nothing, just know you're in trouble pall. Got the guys above looking at your little suit." He pointed upwards as he said this.
Tony felt a cold chill go through his body. Someone was tampering with his suit. He didn't let anyone tamper with his suit. He closed his eyes and shook his head as images stated to come back.
He remembered the bomb going off-He will be calling the X-Men about that when this is over- landing in an unknown city having some guy dressed in green call his suit a reject…oh…that's what happened.
He let out a sigh as he leaned back now realizing he was in a chair. "The guy's not hurt too bad, is he?" he asked.
The archer stopped what he was doing and stared at the man in confusion "What you say?"
"The guy I fought, black guy wearing green."
The archer raised an eyebrow at him. "Yeah he's fine. You hurt his pride more then anything."
Tony smirked. "I'm good at that." He commented.
The archer couldn't help but smirk at that. "Whatever tin man"
"Iron Man" he corrected.
"The names Tony Stark, in the suit I'm known as Iron Man." He explained.
The archer just stared at him with a raised eyebrow. "You do know you just reviled your real name to me right?" He asked.
Tony shrugged. "Never been good at keeping secrets."
The archer remained silent for a moment before he smirked at the man. "Green Arrow, figure the rest out yourself Mr. Stark."
Tony smirked. "Challenge accepted." He said.
New York
The Baxter Building. A stable that has stood tall in the faces of many challenges. But no challenge has come to the residence as it has now. The disappearances of Tony Stark aka Iron Man, Peter Parker aka Spider Man and Victor Von Doom aka Dr. Doom.
Reed Richards known as Mr. Fantastic was racking his brain trying to figure out what went wrong. He had gotten the phone call not that long ago from S.H.I.L.D stating that an explosion similar to the one in Times Square had somehow triggered, and it had taken Iron Man with it.
Reed let out a deep breath as he tried to concentrate on what to do. The explosion or as Tony had discovered the implosion had somehow triggered something to happen. The thing is Reed did not know what.
He had done his research over the gravity bomb over a hundred times by now. He found it fascinated but also terrifying that something like that was conceptualized back during Word War II. He had an understanding of how the bomb worked, hell he could build one if he really wanted to. The problem was he had no idea what had triggered the full implosion.
He shook his head as he felt a migraine coming on. 'This is getting me nowhere.' He thought. He looked around all the data he had for the bomb then to the four numbers that seemed to just be there. "Nine, four, five, two" he mumbled out loud.
Those numbers held some kind of importance. He knew that the way to activate the bomb was with a code input. However he failed to see how theses numb-His eyes grew wide with sudden realization. 'Could they be?'
As quickly as he has ever moved he began to type in the numbers along with other numbers that he knew all too well. When that was done he extended his arm two feet to his right and flipped a switch. To his amazement the formula started to trigger and soon his screen showed him something astounding.
He placed a finger to his ear. "Sue, get Johnny and Ben, and contact the Avengers, I think I have this figured out." He said into his communicator.
"You know where they are Reed?" the soft voice of Susan Storm also known as the Invisible Woman replied back with what sounded like desperation in her voice.
"I might. Get everyone first. I'll explain when their all here." He said.
"Okay. Leave it to me." She said her voice sounding more confident then it had after they had first heard the news of Spider-Man's and Dooms locations.
"That's why I love you." He said before disconnecting before looking back at the screen his eyes narrowed slightly. "This is going to be difficult."
An hour later and the main Avengers had gathered in Mr. Fantastic's lab. The earth's mightiest heroes have been gathered here from The Fantastic Four's request.
In the front of them all stood a man dressed in red white and blue, a shield strapped to his back with the colors of his country displayed proudly. His eyes where narrowed with trained focus that only a solder could ever have. His name is Steve Rogers known by the world as Captain America.
Soon Mr. Fantastic himself walked in front of them his eyes narrowed telling everyone that he was dead serious about this meeting. "Good evening everyone. Many of you are probably wondering why I have asked for you to gather here." He stated getting many nods from the small crowed. "Well, this involves the incident that transpired two days ago, involving the gravity bomb of Dr. Doom, along with his disappearance along with one of our own."
That got the crowd's attention. While some may not see eye to eye with the web-swinger they all know that Doom is a serious problem, especially if he has just disappeared.
"Please hold any questions till afterword, please." Mr. Fantastic said. He nodded once they all quieted down. "Now as you know the bomb did indeed explode taking Dr. Doom and Spider-Man, however I can tell you know that neither are dead." He stated.
"In my research a few things about the gravity bomb, about how it can change the flow of gravity by altering the molecule-"
"Uh stretcho, no offence but can you skip the long winded science part? We are kind of in a rush here." A large orange rock man with blue eyes asked. Getting a few relived looks from the crowd.
Reed gave the Thing a look before sighing and nodding. "Right, sorry about that. To make it short. The gravity bomb can be made to do many things, it runs on a codex which allows the bomb to function. Type in a code and it detonates to your setting." He explained.
"So what dose this have to do with the web head and Doom?" A man dressed in purple with a bow around his back with arrows sticking out from his holster. He was named Hawkeye.
"It means that whatever happened to them must have had the bomb triggered with a different set of codes. Codes that do something different then simply change the flow of gravity." He explained.
"Like Time Travel." Asked a women in the back. Her outfit was a simple black one piece with a yellow lightning bolt going down the front of it. Her legs covered in long black boots and her hands covered in same color gloves. Her blond hair almost seemed to reach the middle of her back and her eyes where hidden behind a domino mask. Her name was Ms. Marvel.
"Close. Allow me to show you." He said. He turned around and began his work. He typed in the code along with the other numbers and flipped the switch like last time. He took a step back to watch.
The screen came to life and now showed a space station orbiting Earth witch had already sent red flags to many of the heroes who had gathered. Mr. Fantastic then pressed a few buttons and switches and soon the image changed to a city. A robbery was taking place and many heroes where already feeling the itch to go and stop them but to there shock someone beat them to it.
A man dressed in red and blue had flown down in front of them. His face neutral if not showing some semblance of boredom. "Okay guys, do we really need to do this?" he asked. Unfortunately all he received for an answer where gun fire.
Captain America felt his hand cleanse into a fist as he watched the man get shot…only to see the bullets deflect from his body as if they were hitting steel.
The man let out a sigh and with speed unmatched grabbed all the guns and crushed them with ease. He stared down at the now wide eyed burglars and watched them get to the ground. "Good choice." He said. The image soon faded.
All the heroes where left in shock at what they had just seen. "As you can possibly see. That was definitely not our world." Reed Richards said breaking the silence.
"What do you mean "not our world"?" Captain America asked.
"The extra code that I found. It was not any normal code. It was used for when the Fantastic Four travels to the negative zone." He stated.
"So it's not just another world, but another dimension itself." A man said dressed in full black said. His face was covered by a mask with yellow eyes narrowed into a glare. The man was known as the Black Panther.
"Correct." Reed said.
"So how do we get them back?" Hawkeye asked.
"The best way at this point is to do it manually. I will build a stable portal and use it to allow a small rescue teem to travel to this dimension and get our comrades and reprehend Doom."
Captain America nodded. "How many Mr. Fantastic?"
"Three to four at best Captain." Reed said.
Steve nodded. "Alright." He turned around and faced the gathered Avengers. "This is going to be a three man rescue mission. I'll be leading. Anyone agents that?" he asked but received shakes of the heads from everyone. "Good. Ms. Marvel. I'm going to need some muscle on this one. Your in." he said causing the woman to nod.
He looked around his teem till his eyes landed on the very back to someone who had not spoken since the start. "Wolverine."
The man was short with a permanent scowl on his face. His harry arms where crossed over his chest leaning agents the wall in the far back. Seaming to be asleep, but Steve knew better. He had on a white shirt covered by a black leather jacket and worn out jeans. His boots a dark blue.
Logan opened one of his eyes with a grunt as he glared at the WWII vet. "Yeah boy scout?" he asked gruffly.
Steve walked over to him. "We may need someone like you there. I trust you to have mine and Carols back. Will you follow me to battle again solder?" he asked.
Logan stared at Steve for a moment before letting out a low growl. "Whatever boy scout." He said causing Steve to grin slightly and nod at him.
He looked at everyone else. "Everyone else will remain here and hold the fort. That portal is a two way door. We can go in but they can still come out. Be on your guard." He said and everyone nodded at that.
Steve turned back to Mr. Fantastic. "How long till the portal is ready?" he asked.
"Give me a day tops." Reed said extending his hand for Captain America to shake.
The Captain took his head and shook it hard. "We'll be here." He said.
He looked back up at the screen and felt his frown deepen. 'Hold on Peter, Tony please don't cause too much trouble. We'll be there soon solders. He vowed in his head.
