Roxas: While you should have been doing dishes or fixing your hair or re-painting your nails.

Hush up Roxas, I am in no mood for negativity. Tomorrow is the start of Animethon and I will be having fun so I won't really be writing until next week or when I finish KH: 3D. Anyways, I own Sydney and that is it so don't try to sue me because I did say I owned nothing. Review, rate, etc and I will try to be quicker with the next chapter.

Chapter 9: Dragons, Dragons and Heartless

"What does she mean by don't panic?" Sora asked me while we listened to Harry and Hermione's conversation. It was the day of the first task and all the champions were inside the champions' tent thing. To say that I was nervous was an understatement. I was about to fight a dragon which means I could have a possible encounter with death. Death is not my strong suit so this was bad. But I had also had a strong feeling that something wrong will happen. When I say bad, I mean Heartless or Nobodies bad.

"She means that we don't panic about this, we be calm and try to die." I told him before Dumbledore came in asking for the champions. I push him out and headed towards Dumbledore and Bagman. Bagman explained what was going on and I could tell that Harry looked a bit sick just thinking about the dragons. As we stood in there, we could hear the thundering of footsteps and the loud, excited, nervous chatter as the whole school walked past the tent, towards the stands. Finally, Bagman opened the small purple bag and held it in front of Fleur saying ladies first. She picked up the tiny model of a Welsh Green that had the number two lightly wrapped around it's next. Of course, that meant that Fleur was going second but I could care less. Next to choose was Krum who pulled out the chinese fireball with the number three wrapped around it's neck. After Krum, it was Cedric who got the Swedish Short-snout and first to complete this task. All that was left was the Hungarian Horntail and another dragon. Bagman came in front of me and held the bag closer to me. I reached inside and pulled out a Norwegian Ridgeback with the number five wrapped around it's next. Of course I would go last, that is like a mandatory thing with us. Bagman started talking and then he pulled Harry aside to take about something, I wasn't sure what but it had to do with something. The whistle blew and Cedric went off. A few minutes later the crowd screamed as Cedric got past his dragon. That was how it was with Fleur and Cedric as well. When it was finally Harry's turn to go out, I hugged him quickly.

"You will do great." I whispered in his ear before he had to go out. He gave me a smile over his shoulder and then disappeared from view. The waiting seemed to have slowed as I waited for the whistle and for some kind of sing. In turn, I ended up pacing around the tent. Finally, fifteen minutes later, the whistle went off and it was my turn. Taking a deep breath, I made my way into the enclosure. The stands where the teachers were was a complete wreck thanks to the horntail but I couldn't focus on that now. I quickly scanned the area, searching for both egg and dragon. The golden egg was sitting on a rock in the middle of the enclosure but I couldn't find the dragon so I took cautious steps out. I was almost at the edge, when there was a huge roar from behind me and a tail came sweeping at me, knocking me off the platform i was standing on.

"Sydney!" I heard Roxas, Sora, Donald, Goofy, Hermione, Ron and Harry yell as I fell through the area, plummeting to the ground. To say I landed on the ground was kinda wrong, if i landed on the actual ground, I would actually be bleed. Somehow, a shadow heartless appeared right where I would have hit the ground. With the speed I was falling at, I managed to destroy that heartless but as I got up, I could see more and more appearing around me.

"Sydney, look!" I heard Sora scream and instantly I looked up at the dragon that was distracted by the heartless. With that in mind, I summoned my daggers and started slashing away at the heartless. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Sora and Roxas trying to climb over people to get to me with Ron and Hermione trying to keep them grounded by clinging to them. I made my way through the heartless towards the egg, hoping that after I grab the egg, Dumbledore will let Sora and Roxas help me. I made a reach for it but I felt somebody grab the hood of my sweater and pull me back, throwing me towards a wall. Once the initial impact faded, I opened my eyes to see someone in an Organization XIII cloak holding my golden egg.

"No, stop." I said as the figure came closer and closer. I held my daggers up as if to fight him but he stopped when he was about six feet away.

"Now, now pretty card keeper. You are not strong enough or smart enough to actually fight me." The figure said and I knew his voice right away. It was Xigbar once again.

"I know how you die, don't think that I don't. I could destroy you if I really wanted to." I told him as he started laughing before opening a portal.

"I know you do, but trust me, it wouldn't be worth it." He said as he threw my golden egg up. Quickly, I ran towards it, jumping the air to grab it then almost landing face first into the rocks. I didn't realize that time had stopped but as I fell, it started again and all the pain started up again. Before I even hit the ground, my eyes closed and the darkness was the only thing that I could see. But I could feel the egg in my arms and that's all that mattered at the moment.
