Hall room
Aki POV
"Now, now Aki, don't be upset, this isn't like you," spoke Misty to the shivering love-struck girl.
"Yeah Akiza, besides, Jackie's always been like that, uptight and rude," consoled Carly.
"That's not why I'm like this you guys. I lied to one of Yusei's friends. Jack was just trying to make sure that Yusei isn't being fooled or made fun of. It makes me feel so low thinking of what I did Yusei," I cried, tears starting to form.
Then, without warning, Misty slapped me. Hard. It stings. I felt my cheek from where I was struck and looked at her.
"Look Akiza, I was the one who told you to lie so don't act so guilty and shit. Besides, when you kissed him it was out of pure emotion right?" Misty questioned. I gave her a quick nod.
"So there's nothing to worry about. If our little lie is making you feel this way then tell Jack the truth and why you did it. He'll understand or better yet, tell Yusei first what you did," Misty said to me.
"But-but, he'll hate me Misty. It's fine not being near him but I don't want him to hate me," I told her.
"Akiza, do you think something like that is enough to make Yusei hate you? And even if he did, he'll still forgive you because you owned up to it. Personally, whether you tell him about your kiss today, tomorrow, in a moth or after a year, he still won't hate you over something like that," Misty replied.
"But still Misty, what if he did hate me after telling the truth and will never forgive me, what then?" I asked, tears already running down my face. Then, I felt something warm. I see Misty, hugging me, stroking my head.
"He won't Aki. And if he did, he's making the biggest mistake of his life hating you. Don't worry okay. Trust me, I know. I did some bad things to him when he came to this academy and he's still willing to be my friend," Misty encouraged me, seeing her tear up as well. She released me from her hug and wiped her eyes.
"Ahh, sorry about that Akiza; I just remembered something. But don't worry okay. Just believe," she encouraged. Just then, I hear the school bell, signifying the start of homeroom classes.
"I better go now guys or I'll be late for class. I only stayed here to see you two again and get Jack's approval of you Aki. Sorry about the mess. I'll talk to him and explain it so don't worry," Misty said as she rushed off.
"Come now Aki, you better dry your face and let's get to our seats. Who knows? Yusei might be in our class and then he'll flirt with you," Carly mused, trying to cheer me up. I quickly dry off my tears and together, head to our seats.
After my little episode, students start coming in one by one, taking their seats and slowly filling up the room. Carly and I are seating at the back, near the door so as not to attract attention. When all the students have taken their seats, I see a tall man out of the side entrance of the room's elevated stage, going straight for the podium. He's wearing a long sleeved button-up shirt and necktie. On his left shoulder sits a red, blue and green parakeet.
"Ahem, welcome class to your second day in the academy and in the secondary department. I am Professor Lhitmos Banter and I'll be your homeroom teacher and class adviser for the whole year. I am also your Duel Monsters History teacher. Let's start our class introduction by asking Miss?" he said as he looked for a name on a piece of paper he was carrying. "Here we go, let's start with Miss Akiza Izinski.
"Ehhh? But I just had a breakdown," I whispered to Carly.
"You'll be fine. Think of this as a test of confidence when you'll talk with Yusei," answered Carly.
I sighed, stood up and walk down the aisle towards the stage. I immediately heard the murmurs and comments of students when I passed by.
"Whoa, dude, look at that rack."
"Are those real?"
"Her hips shake when she walks."
"You think she's still single?"
"What I'd do to have her as my girl."
I'm immediately disgusted from what I heard. Once I reached the podium, I took a deep breath and looked at all the student's faces.
"Hi, I'm Akiza Izinski, 16 years old and single," I start, hearing the catcalls and jeers from my last word, "however, that doesn't mean I'll go blindly with anyone else. I'm not your toy or plaything and never will. Besides, my heart's already reserved for someone else," I finished and walked back up to my seat.
Professor Banter was clearing his throat as he prepares to call the next student to introduce themselves. I just sat back, listening to Carly drone on how the guys were staring at me but I don't pay attention. Right now, I'm worried of what Yusei will think if I decide to tell him and whether Jack said anything. Then I remember Misty saying that she'll deal with him.
"Hey Carly, do you think Misty could explain to Jack what this mess is all about?" I asked my glasses wearing friend.
"Of course, if it's the Misty now, Jack would listen to her," Carly stated seriously.
"What do you mean the Misty now?" I asked her. Carly then took off her glasses and looked straight at me. Her grey-colored eyes changing her, like she's a different person from before.
"Akiza, remember when I said that Misty thinks of Yusei as a brother?" she asked me.
"Yeah, what about it?" clearly not getting what she's pointing out.
"Well something happened last year that made it that way," Carly explained. I remembered the moment Misty started to cry, saying that she just remembered something from the past. Then, I heard Carly's voice break though me and her next words froze me in place, not believing what I heard her say until I made her repeat it.
"Akiza," Carly tried again, "Misty is Yusei's ex-girlfriend."
