Sydney: Chapter 20 is now uploaded. I feel happy now. It hasn't even been 24 hours since I uploaded chapter 19.
Roxas: Yeah and we all know how this turns out afterwards. You won't be writing for a little while.
Sydney: Whatever, I don't own Kingdom Hearts or Divergent or anything else besides myself now.
Chapter 20: Everything depends on this choice.
"Sydney! Sora! Are you guys here?" I heard Roxas scream when I finally regained conscious. I have no idea how much time had past and I wasn't sure where we exactly were but I knew that we were back in the gummi ship and that shelf really did fall onto my ankle, most likely crushing it at the moment. I wanted to yell for Roxas, but I was feeling really weak.
"Sydney!" I heard Roxas say before feet started banging against the metal floor with the noise coming towards me. I felt the weight of the shelf being taken off of my ankle and then Roxas started to move me around so I could face him. Once he had me face up, I started to have a coughing fit. He moved me so that I could sit up. Once I was done coughing, I turned to look at him. His hair looked even wilder than normal, as if he had been running his fingers through it, and his eyes were rimmed with red as if he had been crying. Tearing my gaze off of him, I decided to look around the room. Books were thrown across the room along with random things, our claw marks were still on the armrests of the chair. Sora was still unconscious next to me and he had a red mark around his arm where I had been grabbing since our fall. I looked back at Roxas and did something I wouldn't have done before. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him in close to me so I could kiss him. His lips felt dry and rough as if he had been biting on them for a while. His lips tasted like a vanilla flavored cupcake. I pulled away a couple of seconds later and looked him right in the eyes. He looked shocked but soon got over it and kissed me.
"You aren't going to try to run away this time, are you?" He asked after we pulled away. I smiled at him and just shook my head no. "Good, because that means I can kiss you again." He said as he leaned in once more. The kiss may have last ten seconds but it felt like one of the most amazing kisses I have ever had. As we pulled away, I felt the shooting pain coming from my ankle. I gasp in pain as I pulled away from him.
"Finally! Something good happens!" I heard Sora shout from beside us. I looked over at him to see him moving into a sitting position.
"Have you been pretending to be unconscious this whole time?" I asked as Roxas helped me move my bad foot into his lap so he could cure it.
"Yes, yes I have. But I gotta say, that kiss could've used a little bit more steam and heat." Sora said before his hair was lit on fire, thanks to your's truly of course. He started screaming as he jumped up to his feet and started to run around. Roxas and I just started laughing as he did this. It was pretty funny to watch him do this. As we watched, Roxas continued to heal my ankle and soon enough, it started to feel better.
"Okay, so how does that feel now?" Roxas asked as he helped me. I placed some of my weight on my bad foot and I didn't have any kind of pain coming from it. Roxas let go of my arms as I place more of my weight onto it. I gave him a thumbs up as I started walking away from him. "Hey, don't leave me behind!" He said as he came chasing after me into the living/training room. Sora was in the kitchen with Donald, trying to put the fire out while Goofy was sitting on the couch. He looked up just as Roxas wrapped with left arm around my waist pulling me closer to him.
"Looks like some people have finally made up." Goofy said making the two of us blush. Donald came out of the kitchen, gave us a look before clearing his throat.
" Okay, time to make some new rules. Rule number one: there will be no public displays of affection. That includes hand holding and hugging. Rule number two: no more sleeping in each other's beds. Rule number three: No being in each other rooms unless the door is completely open. Rule number four: no more stealing the ship to go off and be together. Rule number five: no kissing in front of us. If you have any problems with these rules, well you're just out of luck there." He said as he came and pulled the two of us apart.
"So basically, we can't have a relationship then and most likely not sleep when we have the chance so we'll be weak and vulnerable making it very possible that the organization could very well attack us and destroy us." I said pointing out the most likely outcome.
"Okay fine, Rules one and two are gone but the rest of them stay." Donald said before Roxas and I nodded at this.
"We'll be in her room, being all lovey dovey and what not." Roxas said as we ran out of the room. Once we were in my room, I jumped onto my bed and sat on the sheets. He came in after me and sat next to me on my bed. We heard Donald mumble from down the hall before we started laughing. This is now going to become interesting.
"Sora, Roxas, Goofy, Donald." I called out into the empty hall. I had no idea where I was. The last thing that I remembered was Roxas whispering in Sora's ear that he shouldn't crash the ship. I remember a loud explosion and then darkness. Next thing I know is that I am waking up in a bed that is not mine wearing a blue T-shirt underneath a grey jacket and blue jeans. I swore that I was wearing my normal clothes on the ship. I didn't get a reply from any of them and I was really starting to worry so I went down the stairs in order to see if they were here. What surprised me was the fact that there were wall to wall shelves filled with books, dark blue couches where people were reading and desks where people were taking notes. I walked past all of that and headed outside into the sun. There were plenty of other people walking around wearing blue and reading books. I walked by these people and they didn't even look at me.
"Am I in Erudite?" I asked myself quietly as I walked towards the front entrance to Erudite headquarters. I saw a bunch of kids going into a bus so I followed them on and found a seat close to the front. Everyone around me either had a book in their hands or were having a debate amongst each other and it made me nervous.
"Are you ready for the test, Sydney?" A voice asked me from behind. I turned to see a boy around my age with blond hair and green eyes. He was looking directly at me so I had to assume he was asking me that question.
"You can't really be ready for a test that you have no idea what the situations will be." I said as I realized who he was. He was Will from the Divergent trilogy. He meets the main character, Tris, in the Dauntless headquarters, becomes her friend and then she kills him while the whole of Dauntless is under simulation. I wanted to pity him. Make him know that I am sad for him and know what is going to happen but I can't because that would become meddling and we aren't allowed to do that within the worlds or less.
"I guess you're right but it couldn't hurt to know." Will said before returning to his book. I turn back to face the front of the bus and I sighed. I just wanted to know where Roxas and the others are. It's weird being on my own for the moment. Being on my own is different I know I have to rely on myself but I also have to watch my own weakness. I continued to look out the window as we head into the city. Will didn't attempt to speak with me and I didn't try to speak with him or anyone else here because I know what most of them are, killers.
We sat at these long tables in the cafeteria after lunch. I was sitting with the rest of the Erudite kids. I was surveying the room, searching for Sora and Roxas. I noticed Sora sitting with some of the Candor kids arguing about something. I was about to give up on looking for Roxas when I heard him laughing. His laughter came from the Dauntless table. I knew why I was slightly nervous at this. Dauntless was always one of the hardest factions in my opinion. Round after round, people got up, disappeared into the testing rooms and then coming back out. I kept looking between Sora and Roxas. Occasionally I would caught one of their eyes but it never lasted long. They all seemed to look to be happy in the factions they were placed in at that moment. An Abnegation volunteer speaks the next round of names. Sora, Roxas and I were all called for our original factions. I already knew where I had to go, I knew where all three of us had to go but we need the test to show us. I went into the test room with an Abnegation woman who explained the test to me and made me drink the simulation.
I only closed my eyes for second and that was all it took. When I opened my eyes again, I was in the middle of the cafeteria again but this time it was completely empty. Right in front of me on the table were two baskets. One held a hunk of cheese while the other held a knife.
"Choose." A woman's voice said from behind me, I looked between both of the baskets before picking up the knife. The knife felt cold in my hand and heavy. The baskets disappeared and a door started to squeak from behind. A dog with a pointed nose appeared a few yards away from me with its lips peeled back to show its teeth. I look down at the knife in my hand as the dog slowly started to approach me. I hold the knife out in front of me and kneel on the group. The dog backed away slowly before realizing that I wasn't doing anything with it. It came closer and I threw the knife to the side, leaving myself undefended. The dog came closer to me and then started to lick my cheek. I slowly got up so the dog didn't get startled. I blinked and a child wearing a white dress appeared on the other side of the room.
"Puppy!" She screamed out before running towards the dog. The dog turned to face her and before it could pounce, I jumped onto the dog. My head hit the ground, the dog was gone along with the little girl. I was in the testing room again but I knew the test wasn't over yet. I walked out the room to be on a bus. There was a man sitting near me with a newspaper in his hands, covering his face.
"Do you know this guy?" he asked, pointing to the picture.
"No, I don't know him." I said blinking. I opened my eyes to see that I was back in the testing room with the Abnegation woman.
"Your test results were inconclusive. Typically, each stage of the simulation eliminates one or more of the factions, but in your case, only two have been ruled out." She said and I knew exactly what she was talking about.
"Dauntless, Abnegation, and Erudite. Making me a divergent." I said and let the words sink in. I have to choose Dauntless, have to protect Tris from those people. The woman let me out of the room and I started to move towards the cafeteria. I saw that Sora and Roxas were back at their own tables but they weren't as cheerful as they were earlier. I sat down and went over the word Divergent in my head. It made me dangerous, it made me flexible, able to go into any faction with ease. Everything was relying on me choosing Dauntless or Erudite or Abnegation.
