Chapter 30: We already have some trouble.

Roxas' point of view

I felt awful. That's the only way I can describe it. Sydney probably hates me at the moment for what I said. She must be telling Sora all about my time in the organization just to get back at me. I know she wouldn't do that but I keep thinking about the worse situations. I was lounging around in the living room, hoping that Sydney would come out so I could apologize to her but Sora got in the way of that plan. He took a tray of noodle soup and water into her room half an hour ago.

Upon realizing that she wasn't going to come out any time soon, I retreated to my bedroom. It had the same layout as Sydney's, bed, end table, and closet. I fell onto my bed and stared up at the celling.

"Roxas." Sora said before opening my bedroom door. His clothes looked like they had been left outside the window to dry as we went to each world. His hair was slowly loosing its spikes.

"I want you to read this." He said as he held up Sydney's book. I quickly moved so I would sit up to look at him.

"Does Sydney know you have that?" I asked as he threw the book towards me. I fumbled a bit with catching it but it didn't touch the ground.

"Read this and then review your whole fight from her perspective." Sora said as he moved towards the door. "I don't want you to leave this room until Sydney and I get back." He stated.

"You're leaving?" I asked but I never got a reply because he walked out of the room, closing the door behind him as I was asking my question.

"Stupid Sora." I muttered to myself as I leaned back against my pillows with the book in hand, ready to kill a couple of hours.

Sydney's Point of View

"I don't want to go Sora!" I practically shout at him as he dragged me towards the control room. We were out in the living room and I was trying to grab onto anything that would hold me down.

"You are getting out of that room and off of this ship even if I have to bind you to make it possible." Sora said as he pulled my feet towards him, which resulted in my whole body moving towards him.

"I hate you so much at the moment." I said as my grip slipped from the edge of the couch, making it possible to drag me even faster.

"You'll love me later. Donald, zap us down!" Sora yelled once we enter the control room. Donald must have gotten to work fast because it only took a few seconds before we were down on the world beneath me.

"What's going on?" Sora asked as we appeared in this world. You cold easily tell that we were on a train because I could feel the wheels hitting the tracks. The carpet we were laying on was a red checked pattern. There were chairs on both side of use that had red chair covers. The armrests looked to be a golden color from far away but when up close, you could tell that it was made of wood. I looked across the aisle to see dead people littering the floors.

"Somebody must have hijacked the train and killed anybody from alerting people outside." I whispered as I moved quietly into a sitting position. At the ends of the train car were people wearing black clothes and a black facemask. Each carrying some kind of weapon.

"Looks like we have to fight our way out of this one." I said as I watched the guards for a few more seconds before moving backwards towards Sora.

"Sydney, look." Sora said as he pointed towards the back of the train. I looked just in time to see the guard being taken down. There were two guys that were fighting along side each other. The shorter one had messy black hair and amber eyes. He was wearing a black t-shirt underneath and orange and black shirt, brown pants that had an rust color running down the sides. On top of it all, he was wearing a white lab coat that he left unbuttoned.

The tall one has silver hair with black ends on the right side of his head and green eyes with yellow rings circling his pupils. He was wearing a blue dress shirt with folded sleeves and brown suspenders, a yellow necktie, and black trousers, with a blue feather-like decoration hanging on the back.

"Oh." I said as I started leaning forward to get a better look at the two. As I moved to look, a gun went off behind me, towards the two new characters. Sora quickly brought me back to him as the two duck behind some chairs. The gun stopped a second later. The two of us held our breaths as the guard came closer to us. Sora let go of me and jumped out of our hiding place. I quickly followed as I blocked the guard's attacks while Sora hit some of his own.

"Sora." I said as the guard hit the ground, revealing what was creeping up behind it. Heartless were attempting to sneak attack us while we were distracted. I went to summon my daggers when the two guys from before charged past us to attack the heartless. I looked over at Sora and sighed, summoning my daggers while he summoned his keyblade to attack the heartless. We rushed into action, destroying the heartless with only one hit.

"Thanks for the help back there." The shorter one said once all the heartless were gone.

"No problem. It's kinda our job." I said, holding my hand out. "I'm Sydney Jackson."

"Jude Mathis." The shorter one, Jude, said as he grabbed my hand and shook it.

"That's Sora." I said pointing towards Sora who was trying to get into the vending machine.

"That's Ludger." Jude said as he pointed to the taller one that was standing next to Jude.

"Well, it looks like we're stuck with each other for a little while. Might as well make the most of it." I said with a smile on my face. The whole fearing for my life thing had gotten my mind of Roxas until now. I wouldn't be able to deal with myself if we didn't have anything to do later on.

"You guys have an Allium Orbs?" Jude asked.

"No idea what those are." I told him after a few seconds.

"They are essential for battling monsters and learning new skills." Jude explained as he handed me a couple. One for me and the other for Sora.

"Other than Heartless and Nobodies." I muttered to myself. I meant to say it quietly but Jude must have heard me.

"Heartless and Nobodies? Are those the things we were fighting earlier?" He asked.

"Those were Heartless. They show up everywhere. It gets really annoying when it comes to things." I explained before going to pry Sora away from the vending machine.

"You think we can trust them?" Sora asked as I placed my hand on his shoulder.

"I think we can, they aren't suppose to be the bad guys here." I told him as I slapped his hands.

"Looks like the operator's room is just ahead. I'll go in first, Can I count on you guys to back me up?" Jude asked making Sora and I turn towards him. Ludger looked like he wanted to protest the idea.

"Used to these kind of situations?" I asked and Jude just nodded. Before anybody could make any comments, gunshots rang out from the operator's room just ahead. We quickly bolted forwards to see who was causing all the commotion.

"What in the-" Jude said once we reached the top of the stairs. In front of us was a man with light brown hair and brown eyes with glasses resting on the bridge of his nose. He was wearing white and blue clothing.

"Ludger? What're you doing here?" The man asked as he held onto a silver pocket-watch in his right hand and a gold one in his left.

"I'd ask you the same thing, Julius?" Ludger said. He looked surprised by the fact this man, Julius was standing right in front of us.

"I'm doing my job." Julius stated. Ludger closed his mouth as he started to look less surprised by the fact.

"Heh, and a thorough job at that." A voice said behind us. Sora and I turned to look at a man wearing a long red coat and a black professional suit underneath, with a white goatee and hair that is neatly swept back. As I looked at him, I just gained a sense not to trust him.

"I'd expect nothing less from Crown Agent Julius. You work fast." The man said as he moved more into the room.

"Enough with the games, Bakur." Julius said with a stone cold expression on his face. I knew that Julius didn't trust Bakur.

"Who would have known you had such a talented little brother?" Bakur said as he moved past us towards Julius. "Aren't you the model sibling? You've protected him well." Bakur said as he stopped a couple of feet away from Julius. There was a very silent stand off between the two as the rest of us looked onwards. This was getting really intense at the moment because you could easily see the tension rising from the two.

"Of course I did!" Julius yelled, gripping his blades before charging Bakur. Bakur easily dodge the attack.

"Come now. Are you sure you want him to see this?" Bakur asked as he continued to dodge Julius' attacks flawlessly. I knew that the him he was referring to was Ludger and I wanted to look at Ludger's expersion but I could tear my eyes away from this scene. Julius jumped backwards, stabbed his swords into the ground and pulled out two pocket-watches.

"Oh, that watch!" A girl with light pink hair and stunning green eyes said as she walked towards the watch. She was wearing a light green shirt underneath a pink sweater, blue carpi pants, aqua shoes, a yellow backpack and a black hat. She looked no more than eight years old. Suddenly a bright light appeared in front of her as a watch appeared that looked like the watch that Julius had. While distracted, an Exodus agent appeared and shot a gun towards our group.

"Look out!" Jude and I shouted as the gun went off. Ludger moved faster than the rest of us did and blocked the bullet from hitting the girl.

"We'll never accept peace with Rieza Maxia" The agent said as he continued shooting.

"No!" Julius shouted as the gold pocket-watch flew into the air. It flew towards the girl and combined with the one the girl was wearing.

"Huh, what's this?" The girl asked as Ludger grabbed her arm and pulled her away from the gunman. Before they got very far, a strange light appeared surrounding the two of them. Light filled the room, making it impossible to see. All that could be heard was Ludger's screams. As he transformed into weird form. Two lightning markings appeared on his face while black and yellow markings appeared on his arms as a lance appears in his hands. Jude, Bakur, Julius, Sora, and I looked shocked at his transformation as Ludger throws his lance at the Exodus agent, killing him. Before Ludger can touch the ground, a purple light blinds us, taking us to the last car. The five of us were kneeling on the ground.

"Uh, what just happened?" Jude asked, standing up. The rest of us followed suit with the girl, Jude, Sora and I on one side with Ludger on the other. The girl quickly ran to hide behind Jude and me.

"Who are you?" I asked looking down at her.

"I'm Elle. Elle Mel Marta" The girl said.

"Look Elle, It's okay." Jude said as we all looked at Elle.

"No, It's not! That guy got weird! And so did the Watch!" Elle said as she pointed at Ludger. I could understand why she didn't trust Ludger anymore. I'm even having a hard time believing that he transformed into something else.

"I seem to have a knack for encounting weirdness. The Four Great Spirits. The Lord of Spirits. And now this." Jude said with a small sigh after he said the lord of spirits. He must have had some kind of personal connection with that one.

"They're back!" Elle shouted as an Exodus agent appeared. While we were busy talking, Exodus must have decided that we were easy targets. The four of us turned to look as this enemy, ready to fight when the agent when he/she was knocked out. Behind the agent was a girl in a light pink suit and light pink hat. She has indigo eyes and short black hair with white tips in her bangs.

"All clear, President Verland." She said to a man that hadn't come into our viewpoint.

"Well done, Ms. Nova. My security team could learn a thing or two from you." President Verland said, clapping his hands.

"Déjà vu." Jude said. They must have gone through something like this with Bakur earlier.

"Ludger! What are you doing on this train?" Nova asked as she looked surprised.

"Friend of yours?" Elle asked as the four of us looked at Ludger.

"An old classmate." Nova said with a small smile on her face. A couple of seconds later, the train lurked forward as it speed up.

"We still have to stop the train." Ludger said as we regained our balance. Ludger and Jude shared a look as Sora and I looked at each other. We had to go along in order to protect them all.

"Any idea what's happening in the other cars?" I asked before Jude could.

"I do, unfortunately. Some terrorists dressed in white coats are attacking the other passengers onboard." The four of us exchanged a look with each other before moving past Nova and President Verland.

"I'm coming too!" Elle shouted as she ran up to us.

"It's too dangerous." Jude said as we stopped to look at Elle.

"Maybe. But I gotta take this train all the way to the Land of Canaan." Elle said, dead set on coming with us.

"The Land of Canaan? From the legend?" Jude asked, a little more interested in what she had to say.

"You've heard of it? Do you know where it is?" Elle asked as she moved onto her tiptoes, looking more at the idea of getting to Canaan.

"It's seen in old manuscripts." Jude explained. I had no doubt that Elle's hope was slowly crashing with the mention of manuscripts.

""Manuscripts" huh?" Elle said as the four of us shared a silent conversation.

"Okay, you can come. But when the fighting starts…" Jude said as he bend down slightly in order to tell her. Once he finished his sentence, Elle ran off to the side between a couple of benches

"That's when I skedaddle!" Elle said as she picked her head out to look at us. With all the set out, the five of us made our way to the front of the car. It was really easy to take out all the heartless and Exodus agents that were around. It didn't take as long to get up to the front as it did the last time.

"What is he doing here?" I asked as we ran up the stairs. Standing just outside the control room was Julius. The five of us stood together as a untied front looking at Julius. As he turned around, there was a flicker of darkness that surrounded him.

"Stand back!" Julius shouted which made Elle take a step backwards while the rest of us remained where we were.

"Let me handle this.." Julius said in a small voice.

"Tell me what's going on!" Ludger shouted at Julius, clearly frustrated at the fact that something wrong was happening to him and his brother wouldn't even tell him what.

"You don't need to know." Julius said. Ludger took a step forward and you could just feel the anger rolling off of Julius.

"I said you don't need…" Julius said as he wobbled slightly. "…to know!" Julius finished his sentence as his skin changed to black and eyes a bright purple.

"Ludger!" Jude yelled as he moved to protect them. Julius easily broke his guard and threw us all off the balcony. Once airborne, Julius kicked Jude, Sora and I away from Ludger and then went back to slamming Ludger to the ground with his feet. As we got up, Julius was ready to fight. It was four against one, should have been easy, right? Nope, Julius was very will trained as a fighter and the fact that this darkness must have gave him some added advantage that we didn't have. As I cartwheeled away from one of Julius' attack, heartless started to appear.

"Sora! We got some trouble!" I shouted as I started to turn my attention to the heartless.

"Sydney! We already have some trouble." Sora shouted back at me as nobodies floated into my view. I calculated the odds of getting through this alive and it wasn't good. Jude and Ludger were still fighting Julius, Sora and I were fighting heartless and nobodies with very little ground recovered. Sora and I had moved back to back when something amazing happened. We dropped through the floor into darkness.
