Please please please please please PLEASE don't hate me! I know I haven't updated in a really long time. I discovered this new show and I was addicted by the first episode. It's called Leverage. I really recommend people to watch. I've also been really busy lately, which is a really lame excuse I know. So, I realize that this story has received some negativity. I just want to say to those who don't like the story, don't read it. I know I don't own Twilight, and this story is just for creative purposes. There is a reason for every plot point, but it is not always seen right away. There is a reason my character is the way she is, and that too will be evident later in the story. All I want is for people is to enjoy the story, that's why I posted this story. Okay, enjoy the chapter!

"Wow," I breathed, feeling overwhelmed to the max, and then some.

The Cullens had just finished telling me how they each came to be vampires. Mostly Carlisle and Esme explained it to me, Emmett making a joke here and there, and Alice and Rose adding a comment in between. Jasper just sat in silence in his chair, watching me closely.

"So…" I started, "how come you didn't try and…drink my blood when I was bleeding?"

"Scent is a very important factor in how we live…and how we hunt," Carlisle explained, crossing his arms from his position on the arm of Esme's chair. "We use it to…track our prey."

"What's interesting about your blood is that we can't smell it," Jasper explained, sounding for the first time in the entire conversation.

My eyes trained on him in confusion, I asked, "Not at all?"

He shook his head, adding, "It's an anomaly."

"Is that good or bad?"

Jasper immediately answered, "So far, good. It makes us less likely to want to…kill you."

I exhaled loudly, his words ringing in my ears. I wrung my hands together nervously.

"Do you have any other super powers I should probably know about?" I wondered.

"Are you sure you're ready to know?" Carlisle asked, knowing how this must sound to me.

I sighed anxiously, replying, "Probably not. No. I mean…I just…it's a lot to process. I just feel like my mind needs to dwell on the fact that vampires exist."

"Of course," Jasper spoke, a certain sad edge to his voice that made my heart twinge. "We could…give you some space until you…decide what to do."

"It might be best," Carlisle added, hesitantly.

I bobbed my head in agreement, earnestly telling them, "You've all been so nice…and I won't tell your secret…but I want to let my mind dwell.

Rose and Emmett nodded, and Esme, Alice and Carlisle just gave small grins. Jasper's face held a full-on stoic expression. Only silence answered me out loud.

"I should probably go home," I finally mentioned, noticing out of the corner of my eye the somewhat darkened sky.

"I'll drive you," Jasper instantly responded, standing up. I silently stood up, and trailed after him as he made his way to the front door.

I could feel the rest of the family's eyes following me as I exited their home.

The ride to my house with Jasper was filled with an awkward silence that neither of us broke. I almost wanted to break the silence and ask him what he was thinking, but something told me he didn't want to divulge.

As we pulled into my driveway, I finally looked at him, and uttered, "Thank you."

"You're welcome," he returned, the corner of his mouth, lifting just a smidge. "See you at school tomorrow."

Grabbing my backpack off the car floor, I opened the car door, exited, and ambled up to the door. Behind me, I could hear Jasper's car pulling out of the driveway. I turned my head just in time to see him drive away.

"Hey, Ivy," Charlie greeted me from the living room as I entered the house.

"Hey, dad," I called back, entering the room.

"What happened to your arm?"

I inwardly winced as I tried to think of a lie.

"Oh, I was over at the Cullens' home working on a project, and I fell and scraped my arm," I relayed to him. "Dr. Cullen fixed my arm up though."

"Ah, so you've met the Cullens, I see," Charlie chuckled, eyes on the football game airing on the TV. "They're a good family."

"Yeah," I agreed, softly.

"You missed supper," he mentioned. "Leftovers are in the microwave."

"Can I eat in my room?"

"Yeah, go ahead." I nodded and strolled into the kitchen.

Retrieving my meal from the microwave, I treaded down the hall to my room, staying there the rest of the night to think.

The Cullens stuck true to their word. The week following the big reveal, they gave me space and left me alone, as they said they would.

During this time, I was torn between half of me telling me to run and the other half telling me to be friends with them.

Honestly, the second half was winning.

"Ivy, come on already!" Bella yelled angrily up to me as I finished brushing my teeth.

Bella and I have come to a somewhat half truce lately. We agreed to be civil towards each other while we were living with Charlie. Or rather, Charlie forced us. So far, it was working.

So far.

I emptied the toothpaste in my mouth into the sink, and shouted back, "Coming!"

I grasped my backpack on the sink, and bolted downstairs, joining Bella as we walked to the truck. Bella got into the driver's seat and I slid into the passenger seat.

"I hate snow," my sister grumbled as she slowly edged out of the driveway, onto the road, and put-putted down the street.

Last night, it had gotten to below freezing, and froze the rain and snow mix from yesterday.

Let's just say that it was icy.

The truck pulled into the school parking lot and inched into a parking space. After the truck had come to a halt, I hopped out, and slammed the cab door shut. My eyes landed on the tires, and found them wrapped in chains. Charlie must have put them on for us.

"Hey Be—" I started to tell her. However, I was cut off by the sound of squealing tires on ice. I whipped around, and found a blue mini-van spinning out of control.

It was spinning my way.

Well, I hope you liked it. Please favorite, follow and comment if you haven't already. I adore comments. Comments make me happy. I want to know what you think about the chapter. I hoped you enjoyed it.
