Disclaimer: Soul Eater is too much of a perfection to be owned. *sobs hysterically*

Rated K simply because of how tame it is compared to the other chapters.

Chapter 16: Different kinds of Darkness

The Thompson Sisters glanced at each other in curiosity, searching each other's eyes for recognition for the man that stood before the class.

"Sis, isn't that the boy we saved?" She said out loud, only to have Kid swerve his head towards the pair, his eyes full of admiration for them before Liz could reply.

"I guess he is." The older blonde murmured in discomfort, not being able to take his intense stare.

The new Shinigami walked up towards them in a quick few strides, not bothering about the attention he was receiving before he questioned them.

"Are you two sister weapons?" He demanded, his head going back and forth in excitement, his eyes seemingly sparkling from excitement.

"Yes we are... Twin D-Eagles. Not a scythe, sorry to disappoint." Liz squeezed out.

There was something absolutely unnerving about the male specimen that made her quake in her outfit and it wasn't the fact that he was of perfect aptitude for a meister. No one could possibly deny his presence. His limbs were lanky and yet not bone-frail, which probably gives him agility to pull off stunts and his lean muscular build, would enable him to carry heavy objects and land punishing blows without breaking a sweat.

Despite her height towering over him, even without the use of heels, there was something that made her curious about him, like there was so much more he withheld in the figure of his.

"Disappointed?" He asked in surprise. "I'm actually pleased that you will be perfectly symmetrical if I ever wield you two. Ah, you'll be absolutely perfect and beautiful..."

Her previous thoughts left her as she flushed red at his quick compliments, wondering what the deal with this person was. Within a span of five minutes had she reduced her into a mess with his flattery and her sister into a giggling fit while she clutched onto her shoulder and gasping for breath.

They had never been the receiving ends of such... Genuine acclaims but rather the object of revolting looks of people that passed by their alley way in their hometown and in the circus. She shook her head at the dreaded the memories, quickly replacing it with a blank mask.

'Don't be fooled just because he's one of the first people to garner you with such words. It's not like you at all Lizzy; you're not even completely safe from that wretched organization yet.' She chided to herself and attempted to sooth her crazed emotions.

"So will you change into your weapon forms for me?" He asked.

"Alright!" Patty cheered and her sister followed her enthusiastic lead reluctantly.

The entire class glanced over, not having witnessed their weapons forms much yet. Any recently change weapons were often in the spotlight, for people were curious about what they would capable of.

The sisters breathed in unison as they pictured themselves as their own uniquely similar forms, and in a burst of pink, they landed in the Shinigami's hands who stared at them for a minute in full-blown awe.

'They are perfectly symmetrical... beauty in its finest form.'

He couldn't possibly put how amazing they were since the word wasn't invented yet but he certainly wanted them to be his weapons eternally.

With the classic black hand grip with a skull in the midst of it, deeply engraved stripes running down to the middle of its sleek sliver frame and an eye with gold corneas and the rest being black was adorned. The other side was more simplistic; focusing more on exposing the gun's structure but with a hint of triangular designs that ran partially through a small rectangular indent that gave the impression that they were teeth.

"Ummmmm... Kid are you okay?" Liz asked warily at the speechless figure that held them in an odd way with his pinkies on the trigger.

She was no gun expert but there was no way in Hell that it was how you held a wasn't her cup of tea but she wondered if his finger even had the strength to pull the trigger in rapid succession, even if his compressed wavelength would make it a baller for the opponent to absorb or defend.

"I expected you to be amazing but you've exceeded my expectations that I'm stunned." He whispered hoarsely.

Patty burst out laughing again, trying to get words out of her lips. "Sis... He-He just said w-we look AMAZING! Whoever does that?"

"Quiet down." She muttered, feeling blood rise up her cheeks once more.

Meanwhile, Maka looked at their bond curiously, peering closely as the connection between the trio seem to become stronger and stronger as they continued to communicate through the bond.

"Here's an extra assignment Maka." Stein muttered, making the ash-blonde meister jump up in surprise from not detecting his presence before he loomed too near. "What bonds them?"

"Usually it is hard for three people to sync their wavelength together but they are become increasingly stable based off respect?" She said quizzically, before shaking her head. "No... That might be wrong. Admiration? Is that it?"

"Indeed, that is correct." The grey-haired scientist mused.

'To be able to see this far ahead without much prompting...she certainly is like Kami Albarn in one way or another.' He chuckled inwardly.

Maka just smiled slightly at the Thompson Sisters, knowing that she did not have to worry for them as the dignified soul of Kid's would certainly never mistreat them and perhaps even treasure them as friends and remembering their kindness for saving him.

'Perhaps, he will bring them the happiness that they thought had eluded them a long time ago.' She thought wistfully. 'May they continue to live and laugh for many more days to come.'

Her albino companion just smiled along with her as he heard the light flutter of her wing-like soul, and the sound of different resonances around him that made a beautiful melody despite seeming chaotic with the different pieces it played and just focused on his meister's and allowed it to lull him to sleep.

~*~+~*~+ Awaiting Death +~*~+~*~

His obsidian black eyes twitched back and forth.

Everything felt wrong. It felt scary.

He hated it. He didn't want to feel this way; he didn't know how to deal with it.

Everything felt foreign - from the way his limbs moved, seemingly lighter than before that caused him to stagger due to the new unbalance of weight. Something that lied dormant in him even seemed to become active... Even to the extent of being alive.

He has sworn it spoke, the injection being the catalyst for it to awaken.

It scared him. It felt like his body was no longer his own.

He wanted to use every mean to cover the destructive sunlight that threatened to lighten up the darkness of his corner of solitude but he frowned upon it, knowing that it would simply widen the hole.

He jumped slightly as he heard footsteps approach, clutching onto his pillow tighter as he felt the looming and yet eerily familiar wavelength presence leer closer.

Every fibre of his being screamed 'RUN', capitalized bolded and underlined to show how threatening it was. However, the pink-haired being found it immobile, a reaction that was rare for him since he often cowered more than anything.

Just the thought of curious fingers reaching towards him to prod him had him shrieking slightly. He didn't like it. He was at the mercy of others. It made him vulnerable.

The metal door swung open as he was deep in his thoughts, making him jump.

Her slender legs appeared before his vision first, followed by a long white coat that draped over her black dress which had two arrows intersecting one another. She had a long braid twist that extended to the middle of her abdomen and the rest of her unruly short blonde hair hung slightly under her ears.

To anyone, she may look beautiful in her own unique and untraceable beauty with her hair framing her soft angular face and gold eyes, but to Crona, she was nothing more than a figure that demanded fear and loyalty out of him.

There was absolutely nothing he could do against her.

Crona the Compliant could only follow her bidding mutely, with no complaints or comments.

"Crona, it's time. You've done well to endure long enough to get here." She cooed, with authority lacing her tone of being pleased. "Things are going well... Raganok has finally awakened... It's finally time for the first experiment."

Just as she mentioned its name, the hellion surged forth, letting out a loud cry and making its host scream from the unfamiliar sensation of something bursting out of him like an unnatural extended limb.

He shook as he tried to calm himself down, not wanting to show weakness before his mistress. She didn't like weakness and if there was a hint of it from him, he'd be severely punished. He just glanced at the figure that protruded out of his back uncomfortably before looking into her gold eyes that darkened, signifying that she had something planned.

He shivered.

"Crona... This is what I need you to do..."
