Please don't hurt me. I know I disappeared off the face of the universe, but I can explain. You see, one day, I was looking for my shirt in my closet, when I suddenly fell into Narnia. There, I met the Doctor, and he was going to bring me home in his Tardis, but we accidentally landed on Asgard, where Loki started a rebellion. Somehow, I became the Mockingjay leading the people to victory. Then, once the rebellion was over, the Doctor and I got a distress call, and were pulled to Hogwarts, where we had to fight the Death Eaters in the Battle of Hogwarts. I accidentally got pushed into a closet, which really was a portal that landed me inside the Labyrinth. I had to fight my way to the middle of the great maze against obstacles set up by Jareth the Goblin King. Once I reached the middle, I ended up battling against Saruman with a magic wand that I still had from Hogwarts. In the middle of the battle, I knocked him unconscious, and moments later, the Doctor returns and finally takes me home. Sadly, it was a few months after a first went missing.
You got to admit, that's a pretty good excuse, right?
Edward Cullen: No, because you didn't do any of that stuff. All you did was watch Doctor Who, The Avengers, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, The Labyrinth, and Lord of the Rings.
What does he know, though? I mean, honestly, who are you going to believe?

Dr. Cullen sighed, and said, "Ivy, when we looked at your blood, and did an analysis, we discovered an abnormal increase of immature white blood cells."
I felt my eyebrows furrow together, as I queried, "What does that mean?"
"It means…that you have leukemia."

"What?" I uttered, my whole self feeling like it was disintegrating and the ashes floating away in the wind.
"I'm sorry," Dr. Cullen sincerely told us. "When we received the results from the tests done on your blood, we found leukemia cells. You have chronic myelogenous leukemia."
"That's impossible!" I exclaimed. "I mean, I can't have cancer! I feel fine!"
"Chronic myelogenous leukemia sometimes displays no symptoms," Dr. Cullen calmly explained. I felt a small wave of tranquility wash over me that I knew was from Jasper. I knew he was trying to keep me calm.
It didn't help.
"How can I have leukemia? I've always lived healthy and that!" I wondered, still unwilling to believe what was happening.
"Most people with this type of leukemia have a gene mutation called the Philadelphia chromosome. It just happens sometimes."
"There are treatments, right?" Charlie affirmed, speaking for the first time in several minutes. "I mean, we can cure her, right?"
"Well, it depends on how severe it is," Carlisle reasoned. "I'm surprised you haven't been diagnosed prior to this."
"I haven't been to the doctor since I was five," I explained in a monotone. "I didn't really have time or money for it. All the money I saved up was for college or instruments. Plus, I haven't been extremely sick, so there wasn't really any need."
"Your aunt should have at least scheduled a check-up," Charlie said angrily.
I gently patted Charlie's hand, which lay next to mine, as he gave me a soft smile in response.
"We can schedule an appointment next week to see how far the cancer has spread," Dr. Cullen assured, trying to settle the rising concern in Charlie's eyes. "We'll be able to move on from there."
While Charlie went with Dr. Cullen to schedule an appointment, and to sign me out, I was left alone once again with Jasper.
"Well…that was unexpected," I stated, breaking the awkward silence between us. My eyes shifted over to Jasper, who was sitting in the chair, his gold eyes widening just a tad.
"That's all?" he asked, his tone holding disbelief as he rubbed the back of his neck for a second. "That's all you have to say about the fact that you have cancer?"
"What am I supposed to say?" I wondered, feeling my throat close up just a little, tears welling up in my eyes. "That I'm scared? Of course I'm scared. I'm terrified. Am I supposed to say that I'm upset? Who wouldn't be? This is something that changes lives. But I can't just shut down because of it. I have to keep moving forward with my life, even through things like this."
Jasper sighed in frustration, before standing up, and pacing.
"Oh, no, don't do the pacing thing," I complained, a grim smile spreading on my lips. "The pacing thing doesn't do anything but cause people to be nervous and anxious."
"It helps me calm down," he stated, flatly.
"What, pacing?"
"Acting human."
I watched him in curiosity as he walked back and forth, slightly amused by his behavior as well as confused.
"You aren't used to having human friends, are you?"
Jasper shook his head, still pacing. Eventually he stopped, and his gold eyes scrutinized me as he replied, "You're quite perceptive, aren't you?"
I merely shrugged in response, adding on, "I'm good at noticing things, I guess."
Jasper just nodded, before coming over and sitting next to me on the hospital bed. We sat in silence for a minute or two, allowing me just a bit of time to think, and for the situation to sink in.
"Do you think that's why none of you could smell my…well, blood?" I questioned, turning my head to gauge Jasper's face as he thought it through.
"It could be. I'm not really sure. Carlisle would know more about than I would, but it could be a possible answer."
I nodded once, reminding myself to talk to Carlisle later about that.
"Thank you, again," I told him, my eyes observing the vampire beside me. "For saving me."
"No problem," he answered, returning my gaze.
"Will you promise me something?"
"It depends on what it is."
"Promise you won't tell your family?"
Jasper opened his mouth to protest, but I cut him off, explaining, "I will tell them…I just…give me a week. Then I'll tell them."
"One week?" he clarified, his golden orbs soft.
"One week."
"Alright. I promise."
I know it's a bit short…oh who am I kidding it's really short. I haven't really had time to finish the entire thing. I write a lot, but it's always something different. I can't really stay on task. I'm sorry I can't be that awesome writer that can publish every night, but I hope you'll bear with me for this story. I'll have time later on, but for now, this is what I can do. I hope you got some enjoyment out of it. I really do like reviews, so feel free make any notes and comments on things you like or that I could add, like small events. I have the main plot thought out in my head, but the little events in between I don't have much. Oh, and to those of you who are looking for Bella to get her comeuppance (as well as Edward), don't worry…in time you shall see.
Edward: What are you talking about?
Bella: WHAT DO YOU HAVE PLANNED?
You'll see in time.
