Sydney: Hello people. It's been a while hasn't it?
Roxas: Sydney has to go to work soon, which really means that she wants to go finish watching Digimon before she has to go to work.
Sydney: Would you stop giving all of my secrets away? Either way, new chapter. I don't own anything so enjoy reading, favourite, review and we are going to hope that nothing goes wrong.
Chapter 33: Air
I opened my eyes to see that I was in this tank that was filled with water, Manolo was facing a giant bull. When I say giant bull, I mean that it was twenty stories tall and as wide as the whole arena. Sora and Roxas were both standing on a balcony high above us with the rest of the Sanchez family, watching in horror at everything that was going on. How did I end up in this position again? The last thing that I really remembered was falling into the waterfall, hoping not to get crushed on the way down.
"Sydney!" Roxas screamed as a heartless darted through my vision. I turned to look around, only to discover that there were more Heartless, all ready to attack me. Great, just what I needed, being enclosed in a tiny space with thousands of heartless. Today is just not my day, but then again, there aren't many good days. I looked down at my hands to see that my daggers were already in place. I turned my head back towards Roxas and Sora before looking back at Manolo. He had picked up his guitar instead of his sword. I could tell that everyone was shocked by this but I knew that it wasn't what he was meant to do. I looked at the glass that separated me from the rest of the arena. It was thick, like the tank that had held Tris back in Chicago but that meant that it could be destroyed just as easily. I lifted up my dagger and pressed it against the glass. I pushed all the weight I could onto it, hoping for it to crack so I could somehow kick it open. As I pushed, I could feel scraping on the back of my legs. The Heartless have caught onto what I was doing. I was losing air as I turned back and I knew it wouldn't be long before I would drown. I closed my eyes and let out my last breath knowing something would happen, half believing in what I was thinking. I could feel a slight breeze surrounding me as I stood there. I opened my eyes to see that my clothes had changed. I was wearing a pure white t-shirt underneath a light grey sweater, white skinny jeans, white and grey sneakers, a white hat that was turned around backwards, light grey goggles rested onto of the hat and light grey fingerless gloves. I had a smart watch with a card slider resting on my left wrist and a grey card carrier rested on my hip, containing all the cards that we had collected. I looked at the heartless that swam in front of bubble. They all ranged from weak to strong average heartless. My hand moved towards the cards and pulled one that I knew could get rid of most of them and the glass.
"Ice storm!" I shouted as I slid the card through the card slider. Chucks of ice appeared in front of me and hurled themselves at the heartless and the glass, destroying both as they went through. The air bubble that had contained me, disappeared the moment the water had left so I stepped out of the tank and watched Manolo sing against the bull. I looked over at Manolo as the bull disappeared leaving only a trail of flowers in its wake. He looked over at me and sighed, looking exhausted as he did. I couldn't help but laugh.
"Sydney!" Sora and Roxas shouted as he came down to our level. Once they were firmly in running distance, they both spirited over, tackling me to the ground.
"You got a new super power! That is so cool!" Sora shouted as he looked my outfit over.
"I thought I almost lost you again." Roxas whispered in my ear as Sora looked at my watch.
"You'll never lose me. I can be tough too." I said.
"In accordance with the ancient rules…" The candle maker started saying as he grabbed La Muerte and Xibalba's hands.
"We give you life." The three of them said as Manolo and I started to rise and become alive again. The two of us flew upwards though the Land of the Forgetten and the Land of the Remembered to the Land of the Living. A golden light appeared through the ground as Manolo and I rose. I could hear Donald and Goofy gasping as we came up.
"Manolo?" A woman about Manolo's age with long brown hair that was tied up in a high ponytail and bright hazel eyes asked as Manolo went to help here up.
"Sydney?" Donald quacked as I went over to him and Goofy.
"The one and only." I said with a smile. Manolo went in for a kiss with his girl. After he let the girl go, he turned towards the man who was about half the height of the bull.
"So, my father tells me you hate bullfighters." Manolo said.
"I hate everybody." The man said.
"Okay. Let's do this." Manolo said as he pulled his swords out. The bandit was ready to pummel Manolo when lights started to appear from the ground. The two golden ones were what caught my attention. Coming out of them were Sora and Roxas. I couldn't help but let out a breath I was holding. I knew I couldn't do this without them. The town busted into cheers after a few seconds, realizing that these new people were on their side.
"It's the Day of the Dead, Manolo." La Muerte shouted from above the church.
"And on our day, we have a certain amount of…" Xibalba started before La Muerte interrupted him.
"Leeway." La Muerte finished his sentence for him.
"Good luck!" The candle maker said.
"Thank you!" Manolo shouted at the three before the town turned back to the bandits in front of us.
"No retreat." Maria said as she held her sword up.
"No surrender!" Manolo and his friend said as they held their swords up and chased them against Maria's.
"Let's do this." I muttered to my boys who each summoned their weapons, prepared to attack. We attacked the smaller bandits, letting Manolo and his friends handle the big bandit. I didn't know what was going on with the others until the clock tower broke off. We watched as Manolo trapped himself inside the bell with Chakal. The bandits fled once the bombs on Chakal exploded inside the bell. Maria collapsed to her knees and started to cry as the whole town watched on. I could feel Roxas rest his hands on my shoulders as we watched. Suddenly, Manolo stood up, with no damaged taken to him. We watched as they discovered the medal on Manolo and how they rushed to Joaquin side once they discovered it. The moment Joaquin handed the medal back, it started to glow in that oh so familiar light.
"I guess it's our time now." I said as Sora sealed the keyhole.
"You guys leaving now?" Manolo asked as the light faded from the medal.
"Yeah, I guess we are but you don't have to be worried, we'll be back." Sora said with a smile. I looked over at Roxas before pushing Sora's head downwards.
"You don't have to be mean about it." Sora complained which made us all laugh.
"You be good to him now Maria." I said with a smirk on my face.
"Are you kidding? He's going to be the one to keep her in line most of the time." Roxas said which earned him a light smack from both Maria and I.
So Twilight Town next?" Roxas asked Sora, Donald, and Goofy as we stood on the gummi ship. I looked over at him with a small panicked look on my face.
"Yeah, maybe the king will still be there or maybe Riku." Sora said as he turned his attention to the control screen. Roxas turned around, grabbed my hand and pulled me towards my room.
"I don't want us to go. I want to stay in here forever." I said once we were sure that nobody was listening to us.
"I know but if we don't, they'll know something is wrong." Roxas said as he pulled me closer to him. "So while we are alone, let's make the most of this time." He said before kissing me. It wasn't as sweet as the other ones that we had; it was more fierce and passionate. It was more like a kiss that couldn't be explained. As we kissed, Roxas used his foot to kick the door close while bring me closer to him. Once that was done, he slowly guided me to the bed, avoiding all the little obstacles that were on the floor. My knees hit the edge of my bed, prompting me to fall onto it, bring Roxas down with me.
"You're getting better at that." I stated once we broke apart so we could breath.
"Well I have an amazing teacher." He whispered before placing his lips back onto of mine. My need for him grew so I gripped the back of his shirt, hoping to keep him as close as I possible could.
"Sydney, Roxas? Are you in here?" Sora asked from the hall before coming in without knocking.
"Ah! My poor eyes!" Sora screamed as he threw his hands up to cover his face. Roxas and I broke apart laughing. Of course, Sora would be the one to ruin everything.
"What is wrong with you two?" Sora asked as he blindly tried to get out of the room. We couldn't help but laugh as he ran out of the room.
"You know, that has to be one of the funniest things I've seen from him in a long while." Roxas said with a smile on his face.
"Yeah, exactly what we need." I told him as I looked over at him. This was one of the reasons I love him so much.
