"So...Katie...are you excited for the lockdown tomorrow night?" I snorted as Zak once again tried to start a conversation. His attempts at getting to know more about me were poor to say the least and were met with silence.

"Oh this is my jam!" I tore my eyes away from the text I just received from my mom asking if Zak was cuter in person, just in time to see the guys suddenly start rocking out to Hold on by Wilson Phillips. My eyes widened in horror as Aaron turned the volume up on his ipod. Disturbing text forgotten, I could only watch the sight unfolding before me horrified.

Nick was drumming his fingers on the steering wheel, mouthing the words and moving his head to the beat. Zak and Aaron were full on singing and dancing as best they could in a confined space. I was speechless though I couldn't help but wince at the not so great pipes from the two men.

"Uhm..." I wasn't sure what to do. They both sounded like they were dying. Was I supposed to get medical help?

Zak paused when he realized I was staring at them all uncertainly. "Oh come on! This song is great."

He gestured for me to start dancing or singing, or maybe both, but I shook my head fervently. I never danced and I only sang in the shower when I was home alone. He shrugged before finishing the final verse with Aaron. I cringed but had to thank god the song was finally over. I had nothing against the song, just the two people who decided to butcher it.

The radio was turned back on but lowered to a hum. "So, have you even been on a ghost investigation Katie?" Nick glanced at me through the rearview mirror, hoping he could engage me in some conversation.

I thought about lying, but decided not to. "No, never." I sighed heavily, staring at the cellular device in my lap. "To be honest, I've never really been keen to go on one." My older brother had been into the ghost hunting scene, so much so he created his own group with some high school buddies of his. He always offered me to join but I always declined.

Zak frowned, turning sideways in the passenger seat. "Wait, then why did you enter the contest?"

A beat passed before I sheepishly smiled, "I never entered. My mom entered me in the contest but she didn't inform me until after I won." I was still a little angry about that.

"Oh." I nodded in agreement and the silence that followed was what one could call awkward. Great, why did I tell them that again?

"Look! We're here." Aaron nudged me with his elbow, pointing to a two story ranch styled house at the end of the block.

I grimaced as Nick drove the van into the driveway. Fantastic.

A/N: Next chapter we'll skip ahead to the group arriving in Pennsylvania for their lockdown.
