The last chapter was a Tak angst all the way.
It was a month that she was gone and Dib still hadn't heard a word of what was happening. He thought Gaz or Zim or maybe her would contact him, but there was no word. He knew Gaz was coming, but she never informed him when so imagine his surprise when he walked into the nursery to see Gaz in there with Jack perched on her lap laughing gaily at whatever she was doing. Honestly he should never be surprised by his own sister since she always had a habit of showing up when you least expected it.
Without looking away from Jack, Gaz had to make a comment, "That is possibly the most goofiest grin you ever given me before." She gave Jack one kiss on the forehead before turning him to face Dib. "Look, daddy is awake now."
It was both weird and cute to see her acting so maternal with his son. "When did you arrive?"
"Oh about a couple hours ago. I already fed him and gave him a chalk bath." Standing up, she came over to lay a half hug at him. "You need a shower, Dib. I'm going downstairs to make some food, I'm starving. Anything you want?"
Dib was a bit dumbfounded, yes she cooked a little when she was here, but it was just so she wouldn't go so crazy. "Anything simple is fine with me."
Going past him with Jack in her arms, she continued to talk to him as he responded back to her in his own special little way. Did she become domestic since she left here? Guess marriage was good for her. Happy that his sister was here at least, he went into the bathroom to take a quick shower. He'll ask Gaz about things when he is down there.
After his shower, Gaz had Jack in high chair as she sung to him. Dib smiled forgetting that once a long time ago, she would like to sing. Jack was obviously enraptured to the point of demanding her to sing by simply saying, "Again!"
"Maybe later, my voice is getting raw now." Gaz said patiently grabbing a couple of plates.
Giving his son a kiss on the forehead, he sat down next to him as he watched her plate out the food. "Been a long time since I heard you sing."
Shrugging, she came over to give him a plate of pancakes and bacon. "I'm sure you sing to him, right?"
"On occasion. Mostly he likes to go through equations with me."
Gaz smirked. "Nerds." But the way she said it actually held some affection in her tone. "Hope you didn't mind me coming sooner. I thought I surprise you."
"Zim doesn't mind?"
"He'll live and yes I will miss him, but I won't be gone forever." Taking a glance over at Jack, her eyes shown a certain happiness. "You know, current stress aside, I am happy. I'm also happy to get off the ship for a bit. It is nice and all, but you do get use to certain things."
"Will you see Irk one day?"
Nodding as she started eating, she swallowed her food. "I will, but with this current situation right now we are pretty stuck where we are." Watching Dib fall silent, she added, "They are still trying to get the implement out of her, but right now it is dangerous."
"How so?"
"No matter what they try to do it starts to trigger. That guy really didn't want it out." Gaz frowned. "Zim is trying to come up with a device to help."
"Who is responsible for this? Who is the one she had flashes of?" Dib asked quietly, but there was that hidden demand.
"His name is Pressner from Planet Conplerz. I thought Irk was kind of a dumb name, but anyhow, he is an assassin. Hired help. He is the one that implanted that in. He has the ability to do something like that and make it stick. Pressner is bad news, but whoever hired him is the one responsible for calling the shots. That guy who hired him posed as Zim once and attacked me once already." Gaz explained.
"What?" Placing his hand on her, he went crazier inside. "Where was Zim?"
"I alerted security right away when I knew that it was a fake Zim in our room. When I was attacked, I didn't see him, but I sensed him. He only attacked me because I said something to him. Twice I flamed his you-know-what." She replied.
For some reason the second attack got her nerves worse than the first. "So you still have some powers than."
"Not as strong as when I was a kid. Either that or I am out of practice." Pushing her plate aside, she placed her elbows on the table to prop up her head on her hands. "How are you doing since?"
"She's a cat with 9 lives I swear so she has to come back." Grabbing a piece of paper and a crayon to hand to Jack, he watched as began to do his own thing like he normally did. "Then again..." He trailed off not wishing to finish that thought before bouncing to what he needed to admit to his sister. "We spent one last, I think beautiful night together before she left, we didn't talk about the past, but I realized something finally. I realized that I fell in love with her at some point. Don't know when, but I did."
Gaz had a feeling he loved her for years, but refused to admit it. The largest hint would be him never being with another girl. "She is like a cat. I have to agree there."
"When did you think you fell for, Zim?"
Gaz let out a laugh. "Wow! To think about it now I had a crush on him before and than when I kissed him after he saved me I was obviously attracted without me really wanting to admit it." Sighing, she studied what Jack was doing noticing he wasn't drawing, but making a map. "I think I always have been in love with him, I just finally admitted it one day after that whole invasion thing and my fake suicide." Getting up, she went to see what kind of map he was drawing. "This isn't anywheres on this planet."
Getting up to see what was drawn, he asked, "Jack, where is this?" In a soft tone.
"Secret." He answered innocently. "Secret place."
"Jack, may I have a closer look at this?" Gaz wondered sweetly. When he nodded, she lifted it up to study it closer. "I need to call, Zim. Stay here."
Moving his chair even closer to his son, he had to wonder, "Have you seen that location before?" He nodded. "When or where?"
"Sleep."
"You mean you dreamt it. Am I correct?" Jack nods again. "Okay, I'm gonna clean this up, and I will sing to you." Getting up quickly, he snagged the plates to bring to the sink to clean up.
Downstairs in the lab, she wasn't surprised to have Zim on the bridge, but after their initial greeting, she said, "Dib and I were talking and having breakfast and while we were doing so, Jack was drawing. Normally I wouldn't feel bothered by things like this, but tell me what you think of this, Zim." Holds up a very detailed drawing done by a very young smeet. "Pretty good for a baby."
"Catch an image of that Skoodge." Zim ordered as he stared at it. "That is the exact place where it happened, but there was no planet there. It is obviously cloaked."
Putting the map down, Gaz inquired, "Any planet in that vicinity?"
"Nothing with that technology and none with the means to do that. Who are they?"
"You realize it is pretty bad when you ask that question." She said pointing that out. "You guys must have records or some crap. If my own nephew is drawing something like this and Tak was targeted and brought here to this planet as a bomb. There is an obvious problem happening here that needs to be protected."
Zim understood the stress and worry in her voice. "That means all three of you have to come to the Massive then. Even Dib could be the target as well."
"Great, just fucking great. I better go and tell, Dib right now then. I'll see you in a little while then." Gaz was a little red in the face from anger.
"Gaz."
"Yeah?"
"I love you."
Smiling at him, she felt funny saying it to a room full of Irkens, but in this case she decided to ignore them. "I love you too." With that the screen turned blank.
Zim issued an order making sure to extract Gaz, Dib and Jack out right away and to keep them protected under any cost. Angry, he stared back at the map. "Computer! I need history of this location at once. This being is using special forces."
"Right away, Sir!" Came the direct response.
Running upstairs, Gaz already set up some cameras in the house when she first step foot inside again. She had some odd feeling, and she cursed herself for having it be paid off. Dib came into the room with Jack in his arms and he knew instantly there was trouble by her expression. "We have to leave. We are all going to the Massive."
Eyes closed against the bright lights of the medical room as she laid on the table alone waiting for the doctors to return to do more examinations. More pokings. It was getting harder and harder not to think about things so she figured just think of the new memories and not the much older ones. Perhaps those would be safe. Memories of her holding and loving Jack up in Dib's old bedroom. The way Dib looked sometimes in the morning with his hair unkempt, but still adorable looking. The way her son and him went over equations. She smiled at those thoughts before feeling heated at the last thought of spending private time with Dib alone in his bedroom. That one felt amazing, but bittersweet. If that was the proper word. She soaked him in so she can bring him with her. It was something to make her smile with some hope, but also saddened her making her think that was the last time she would see him. She was sure she loved him, but didn't want to dwell on it right now.
She heard footsteps enter the room along with a rustling of clothing before a flash of red teeth showed up in her peripheral making her try to slip off the table, but he grabbed a hold of her swiftly rendering her pretty useless as he continued to stare down at her. "Time to come back." Pressner lilted to her.
Tak tried to struggle and yell at him even when she found herself in a room getting tied up against the bed. "What do you want with me?"
"You'll find out soon enough. Be patient." Giving her face a playful little slap, he disappeared again with her with him as he grabbed her roughly.
Tak screamed out to be let go. She refused to be quiet. Bastard! Who was this guy?
It felt so long ago when it was Dib waiting downstairs for her to leave when he caught sight of the Armada, and now here was Gaz waiting for him and Jack to come downstairs. The Elite were about to come for them all so she simply stood there with her pack slung over her shoulder as she waited impatiently before finally he came running downstairs with a couple packs of his own.
"Sorry." He offered as he got in front of her.
"They'll be here soon." Gaz said looking at her wrist to the trajectory of the shuttle coming down. As she did this, she felt the eery feeling creep back in again making her eyes and body become aware.
Seeing Gaz take up a battle stance, he knew something was wrong right away. "The presence?"
She nodded before she tossed an energy ball towards her fury, but what happened was her getting tossed and hit hard against the wall making her pass out quickly.
"GAZ!" Dib cried out making a move towards her before he had an energy cell wrapping around him keeping him in one place. "Who are you? What the hell do you want?"
The voice that came forth held so much inflection in it that Dib could literally hear how words like that would seem in print. It also gave him chills as well.
"How I hated hurting her like that, but she needed to be silenced quickly so I can take all of you with me."
"Why do you need us? Why did you do that to Tak?" Dib demanded.
The voice laughed. "She was here to be commanded by us. To help take that baby off your hands, but she just had to leave because the Tallest wanted it."
Dib heard the anger in his voice even as he tried to contain it. Dib hoped he would leave them be anyhow. "No one is taking my baby away from me or even my sister."
"Here is the thing, I will take your baby, and I will take whatever else that might amuse me." Taking a quick look at, Gaz on the floor, he added, "This will hurt the Tallest when I take her away. I hate to say how fascinated I am of your sister, but this isn't the time to discuss it."
"Stay away from my sister and my son." Snarled, Dib.
"Nah. Now you have no choice in this matter when I do this."
In one quick swoop, all three of them disappeared with Psyllic to Plegerin where Psyllic quickly took Jack in his arms as he walked away from Gaz's and Dib's prone figures. Willing himself back into his home, he went upstairs to deposit Jack in a crib that was in the same room where Tak was tied up. Seeing Pressner show up quickly, Psyllic ordered, "She is to remain alive and stay around to be his mother. I believe you will have great joy in still torturing her."
Pressner simply smiled down at her passed out figure. "It'll be a pleasure."
When word came in that the Queen, her brother and nephew weren't there, Zim panicked before he remembered what Gaz said about installing mini cameras in the house just in case a problem happens. When it finally happened, he felt like he was in a coma. When he had the footage pulled up, it showed they were both attacked by someone unseen before all three of them vanished. He was furious seeing Gaz attacked like that. Listening to it again he didn't realize he was tightening his fist so hard that his claws broke through the fabric of his gloves to dig into his flesh.
"Zim." Skoodge's voice came up behind him. "Tak was also taken. The crew is dead."
Still staring ahead of him, Zim's eyes narrowed. "Any video of that?" He questioned, but no answer was given except for that video feed in which showed for the first time how his suspicion of Pressner was clear as he went through the ship easily as he took everyone out on board till he reached Tak grabbing her and vanishing. Zim was fuming. "Head to this location on the map because if it is a war that they want."
"Then it is a war they will receive."
