Zim stepped into the cell area, not at all surprised to find Psyllic standing there expecting him and appearing very calm. Almost amused. He looked almost human-like in appearance except for some slight differences here and there, especially skin color. He was almost his own height. In some way, Zim had a feeling he wouldn't divulge his end game to him, but you always wanted those hints to lead you there.

"Do you actually believe you are gods?" Zim started off his questioning.

The glint in his eyes and flash of his teeth showed him his answer before he said a word.

"Why do you believe you are gods?"

"Simple. We created you. We created all." The answer came so simply. So pompous.

"Are you telling me I should be calling you... Dad?" Zim asked with distaste in his mouth.

The sneer came. "I wouldn't go that far."

Tapping his finger against his lips in thought, Zim grinned. "Then you are nothing to us."

"Trust me, disgusting Irken, I am everything." Psyllic refused to get angry, but it didn't prevent him from closing his eyes just a bit. "We just refuse to be... Parental to you."

"Eh, that's fine. You don't care for us and we don't give a shit about you. Blah, blah, blah. So tell me, since I know you refuse to give me all your game plan to how you will destroy us, which you could if you are truly gods." Zim didn't mind sounding sarcastic towards him. In fact, he loved it. "Which honestly, if you are truly gods you could kill us all with the snap of your fingers, but here we still are."

Cocking his head to the side, Psyllic approached closer. "How did you manage getting such a wife? I'm so curious there. You are so disgusting while she is not. How?"

"I am, Zim."

Raising an eyebrow up, he wanted to destroy the arrogant Irken right now. "The human race is still so young. The Irken race is meeting its own end. Two separate Irkens fell for siblings in the same family. I say it is interesting and both disgusting seeing that the human race was our way of correcting the mistake we made when we created you."

"I believe you are lying about Earth."

"We aren't and there is something special about those two's. Think about it in that little pea brain of yours." Smirking, Psyllic enjoyed seeing anger raising in his face. "Thing is you weren't supposed to meet at all, but your previous Tallests made the damn mistake of sending you there. Everything got screwed up."

Crossing his arms to lean against the wall behind him, Zim decided to maintain a bored expression on his face. "Once again with the blah, blah, blah. I have a hot wife while you seem to question why I have her. Jealousy much?"

"Tell me how much you know about essences. Do you know all about them and what can be done with them?"

Zim knew he was providing hints to him, that was the reason why he remained as calm as possible because he knew he wouldn't give everything away. "This is about Pressner, I assume."

Psyllic smiled at him. "Good boy. Now here is another thing I will tell you, and I hope you are listening; This isn't the end by a long shot. This is only the beginning." He warned mockingly.

Zim realized that. "Why did you take, Jack?"

"So special and no one truly knows how special they are. I may act dumb, but there are aspects I'm surprised with. Mostly with, Gaz, and also I got a hint from Dib when he was down there. Those are natural born leaders those twos."

"I know they are."

Smiling at that, Psyllic didn't wish to talk anymore as he turned around. "By the way, there is a weapon you will least expect coming your way."

Zim heard the warning. He heard all the hints and now it was time to fit them together. He knew by the way he turned around that was all he was willing to give so Zim took his leave to re-join the others and to place the puzzle pieces together.

He watched them work on her, he felt helpless just standing there watching. Listening to the point their faces said it all. Gaz spent a lot of time with him before taking Jack away to the other room to take care of him while he spent alone time with Tak at her bedside. Bringing his chair close to her bed at one point, he laid his head next to her praying silently that she will be okay. She was so abused by Pressner's hands. Feeling a hand going through his hair weakly, he lifted his head up to look into her face. She smiled weakly at him. Not knowing what to say at the present second, he brought his face to hers to kiss her.

"Where's Jack?" She asked clearing her throat.

"Gaz has him right now. He's fine. Healthy."

Smiling she took an unsteady breath in as pain started to permeate her body. "I'm glad." Touching his hair again, she looked into his eyes. "He is so much like you."

"I love you so much, Tak. I want to be your mate." Dib confessed heartfully.

"I want to be yours too." Feeling a stabbing motion ripping through her, her body reacted to it making her take his hand. "I love you, Dib. I'm so sorry for all the past stuff I've ever done."

Heart beating wildly, he knew why she was saying this. He saw the fear and the pain in her making him bring his face to hers to press her cheek against his own. "All is forgiven because I love you. I always loved you. Did you know I think of you as a cat with 9 lives." He heard her laugh weakly. "Please fight, Tak. I love you."

Blackness was coming over her as a tear fell down. "Give my love to, Jack."

Pulling back he cupped her face. "Tak, please Tak fight. Don't go. Fight. I love you. We love you. Don't go." Feeling her hand fall away from him thumping against the side of the bed and her eyes turn dark, Dib stared at her in shock before giving her a kiss, and shouting. "No, no, no, no, NOOOOO!" He felt himself falling away back to his chair screaming out in pain and anguish before hearing rushed footsteps by his side as a pair of familiar arms wrapped around him. "Gaz." He whispered into her hair.

Gaz couldn't help but feel tears herself at hearing her brother cry out like this. She felt his pain so acutely. Taking a quick glance over at Tak, she couldn't believe she was gone. Then when she saw Zim step in his face held some shock as well even as he went over to check Tak's readings. Bowing his head, he gave a sorrowful glance to Dib before settling on Gaz. As quick that Zim came in, he left for a bit before coming back in to go on the other side of Dib.

Dib heard the footsteps all around him. He knew Zim and Gaz were right next to him. Gaz's arms still around him and Zim's hand on his shoulder. Hearing the sound of the gurney being wheeled away made Dib look up. Suddenly it looked so clinical. "Where's Jack?" He asked weakly.

"I'll get him." Zim said taking leave at once.

Staring at the spot still, he refocused on his son being placed in his arms. "Thanks." He said to Zim before holding him against him before standing up weakly.

"I'll take you to your room." Gaz informed him softly as she placed a hand on his back to guide him out with Zim following.

Hours later in his room, Jack was finally resting while Dib and Gaz were sitting on the same couch together not really saying much since Dib mostly was staring out into space. "Why?"

"There are sick fucks that exist." Came Gaz's simple answer.

Reaching out to take her hand, he held it. "Glad nothing happened to you too, but I wish it never happened to her especially when I figured how I really felt about her."

"You told her and they say that is important."

"Yeah, but what now? What are they gonna do to her body?" Dib wondered.

Hearing the door open, Zim walked in boldly. "Sorry to interrupt, too many things happened all at once." Sitting down across from them both, he was sincere when he spoke to Dib, "I truly am sorry for what happened to her. I know we never got along before, but in the end it was different. I can see how you both made a good couple. Look at your smeet."

Dib smiled at the sentiment. "Thanks." Pausing, he asked, "What is going to happen to her body? I don't know what you guys do when someone passes."

"I knew you would ask. Normally we die out and vanish away naturally. There really is no funeral. Tak is a special case here though. I placed her in suspended animation." Zim replied.

Both of the siblings looked at him in question. "Why suspended animation? Isn't she...?" Gaz hated finishing that sentence.

"She is, but there is something that Psyllic spoke about. Something about essences and about Pressner. Pressner was with her last and Psyllic warned that this isn't over by a long shot." Zim explained before going further on what they spoke about.

"So she might be alive but not at the present time." Dib thought out loud. "You don't suppose he will use her as a weapon, do you?"

Shrugging, Zim said, "I have no clue. Possibly. Tak is incredibly smart and talented. It makes sense, but it raises caution here because while Gaz is protected here, you and Jack need protection yourself because I know you won't want to stay here."

"You want to assign me a bodyguard?" Dib was incredulous. "You have this bastard, can't we kill him now?"

"I would love to, but that is the other problem. He's gone. Poof. Disappeared." Once again he was met with questions by them. "I doubt his race is the beginning of everything and if he is then there is a lot of planning that must be done while I'm still attending to other duties."

"Nice full schedule you got there." Dib mentioned. "You know I doubt Tak would harm her own son if she did come back."

"But we can't take that chance with him or you, Dib." Gaz said. "Pressner did have it out for you when we were fighting."

Leaning back to push back his hair back fruitlessly, Dib went into thought before speaking out loud. "Tak said some things to me before we came here and also before they worked on her. The bastard, Pressner took advantage of her. She said at first she thought I was there because she caught my scent to the point she felt... Well you know, and when she was trying to look for a way out, he forced her." Picking at his fingernail, he tried to suppress his anger so he wouldn't upset his son. "Before he-he went to attack her he told her he loved her."

Gaz came forward to hold her brother and rested her head against his shoulder and his chest as she looked over at Zim. However she acted towards her brother in the past, Gaz knew he was always the cornerstone in her life. "We will win for her sake, Dib." She assured him.

Inching only one corner of his mouth up at his sister's comment, he ran his hand in her hair. "We will win for all our sakes. Screw this so called god." Dib stated with venom dripping out of his every pore.

Studying his Gaz and Dib, Zim came forward to place a hand on his shoulder. "Glad that we are all finally on the same page then."

Sharing a look with his long time one-time foe, Dib smirked, "He won't know what will hit him then."

Dib gets the last word in this series. I'm gonna continue the Invasion series another time. I'm still working out the kinks there, but I did offer you hints regarding in the nature of Dib and Gaz. You also have Tak. Zim will always be himself, but I decided to have a bit of fun with him. I hope everyone knows each definition of Metamorphosis. ;)

Once again thanks for all the reviews and to all who read this story. See you again next time.
