AN: Hello welcome back!

Yes it's time for the major fight scenes! Finally right?

I've also noticed that I have given Ladon the most spotlight and I wish to fix that, not with this chapter but the next one you'll be getting to know Nymph a little, before I switch it and focus on other characters.

I'm sorry I noticed this late but with the lack of constructive criticism I didn't notice until after I conferred with another author and went through the story several times myself.

Anyways, this next chapter Weiss and Ruby will seem slight OOC and you'll find out why when you read through it.

Or maybe they wont seem? It's all perspective I guess...

Anyways, Time for the story!

CH. 6

The Storm

Beacon Cliffs

On the cliffs of Beacon, towering over The Emerald Forest, a B-class zone, stood twenty, each unique and powerful in their own way… whether it be skills with a weapon, unarmed combat, and or Aura makes them a forced to be reckoned with.

In front of these students stood the Beacon Headmaster, Ozpin and the Beacon Headmistress, Glynda Goodwitch.

"For years you have trained to become warriors, some were forced into such a life, and some that's all you know…' Ozpin looked directly at several groups and continued, "…but today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest."

Glynda spoke up from her scroll, "I'm sure many of you have heard the rumors about the assignment of teams. Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion, each of you will be given teammates… today." She glanced at all the students before her, awaiting their reactions and she was not disappointed.

Ruby's eyes widened, "Wha…"

Ozpin takes the reigns from here, "These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time at Beacon… so, it is in your best interest to pair with someone who you can work well with."

Ruby bit her lip with a whimper and thought, 'Okay, I just have to make sure I team up with Yang before I go.'

"That being said… the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years."

Ruby's world shattered, "What!"

"Called it Natalie… hand it over." Desiree called out while holding out her hand in front of Natalie.

She grumbled as she handed over some lien.

Yang couldn't help but let out a small laugh, along with a few other people, at their antics, but Glynda did not share the same sentiment.

"Ms. Nymph, Ms. Odissia, mind telling us why Ms. Xiao Long and the others are laughing?" She said sternly, fixing them each with an accusing stare.

"No Professor Goodwitch…" Nymph said with a cute giggle.

"Then what was it?" Intensifying her stare.

Desiree chose to explain, "We bet, that Ruby would or would not freak out about teams... and obviously I won because she still did." She said smugly with an equally smug smirk.

Ruby was flustered by their careless confession.

"You two bet on this!"

They nodded unashamed by her accusation, "Next time, do that on your own time…" Glynda ordered them, looking away from the duo and towards the new voice, Nora.

"See, I told you." That's all she had the chance to say before Ozpin continued.

A final glance and he spoke, "After you partnered up, make your way to the Northern end of the forest… you will meet opposition along the way."

The group of students gave a determined nod, they are confident; they trained for this after all, some more then others.

"Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path… or you will die." He informed seriously, looking every single initiate in the eye.

A few gulped, mostly Jaune though, with a nervous chuckle he thought, 'I am so… going to die.'

Ozpin noticed, but brushed it off and let him prove he deserves to be here, transcripts mean nothing. That's exactly why he accepted him as student even if they were false. Papers help with names nothing more… true skill is on the battlefield.

His inner monologue over, he focused on his students and his explanation.

"You'll be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You'll find an abandoned temple at the end of the path, containing several relics. Each pair will choose one and return to the top of the cliff. Beware, there are still many dangers and unknowns about the forest and its secrets… secrets lost to the sands of time…"

Everyone took his momentary pause to completely digest everything. The objective may sound simple, but this is Beacon… it's not going to be that simple.

'Unknown secrets and danger, how interesting...' A masked hunter thought.

"You will guard that item as well as your standing and grade appropriately… any questions?"

Jaune raises his hand, "Yeah, umm… sir-"

"Good. Take your position." He said cutting off Jaune as he really did not care or ignored it all together.

Everyone got into a different posture or stance such as; Ruby with her hand hovering over Crescent Rose and crouching a bit, Yang was in a boxing stance with her arms upfront, Nymph had her hand under her bow crouched slightly, Desiree with her hands lazily over her daggers.

"Umm… sir, I have a question." Jaune raised his hand nervously.

"Later girls, see you in the forests!" Ladon yelled as he was launched off the cliff, followed by Weiss.

"Soo… this landing strategy… what is it? Are you going to drop us off or something?" Jaune questioned uncomfortable with being launched into the air.

"No, you will be falling." Ozpin stated simple with a careless tone.

Pyrrha was launched and Nymph followed, "See everyone on the forest floo…r!" Odissia was launched right after and trailed by several other launches.

"I see… did you hand out parachutes or something?" Nora was launched with the boy that was almost killed in the locker room.

"Nope, you'll be using your own landing strategy."

"Oh… uh, yeah." Jaune responded with Yang winking at Ruby and tossing on a pair of stylish glasses as she was launched with a 'wooho!' Ruby was launched as she flashed an epic smirk at Jaune.

"What is a landing strat- " Jaune to, was launched as he wasn't able to finish his question.

Ozpin watched them fly with a small unnoticeable amused smirk.

In the sky above Emerald Forest, one Ruby Rose, freefalls through the sky…

"Birdie no!" and into a bird, with that, she continues her freefall towards the forest, whipping out Crescent Rose she fired a few shots using the recoil to slow her descent and hook on to a trunk with her scythe to ease her speed some more for a safe landing.

Weiss used her glyphs as platforms to maneuver in the sky easily allowing her a safe drop to the forest floor.

Ren used his Stormflower's blades to stick to a tree and follow it down in a swirl like movement landing comfortably at the base and dust himself off.

Yang uses her Ember Cecilia's explosive rounds, to keep herself airborne maneuvering the in air with style just before diving into the forest floor riding the momentum as she rolled across the floor and back into a run.

"Nailed it."

Pyrrha used Akouo to protect her from the trees as they were shattered by said shield, tucking her legs in she rolled on a trunk, transforming Milo into it's rifle mode and into a standing position.

Scouting her surroundings through her scope, noticing Jaune through her scope and saw that he was falling in such a way that could cause massive injury if she did nothing. Transforming Milo again, but this time in her javelin mode, she aims. Locks on and fires Milo.

Pyrrha waited for a moment and with a 'thud' Milo found its mark.

"Thank you!"

Pyrrha hears him and with a wave she shouts. "I'm sorry!" although mirth was clearly evident in her voice.

Ladon chose a somewhat flashier landing, passing though the canopy of trees he unsheathes Python and pierces the closes tree using the momentum to twirl around the handle and plant his feet on the side of the tree and pushing off into a dive bomb, his eyes turned white as he slashed towards the ground releasing a torrent of ice that formed into a ramp, flipping upright, he slid down the ramp thrusting him into a run speeding him up as to find his sisters faster.

Gaia chose style over flash, passing through the canopy of green she materialized a powerful full body shield and thrust into through a trunk shattering it, using the wood in the air as a base she materialized a board, simultaneously dematerializing the shield, tucking her legs she pulled out the newly formed snowboard and placed her feet in the safety harnesses and began to grind down the trees. Landing she tossed the board in the air as it dematerialized into the shattered wood from the trunk and dashed through the forest, hoping to find her family.

Desiree chose to be subtle, a purple florescent energy arced around her body, disappearing in the air and reappearing on the ground in a crouch with her daggers unsheathed, not letting her guard down she stood up and sped through the forest with one thought,

'Have to find the others'

Nymph decided a little noise is healthy, her entire fall she was laughing and giggling. Breaking the sea of green she slammed her fist through a trunk completely obliterating it, with each break she slowed down before landing safely.

She giggled, "That was fun!" she looks around noticing a few extra red eyes.

"Oops...! I was too loud." she giggled again but this wasn't a cute giggle it was a creepy giggle.

"It seems I attracted too much attention." her voice no longer bubbly or happy, instead it was replaced by a more serious, mocking nature with an edge.

Eight Beowolves exit the underbrushes of the trees, each one snarling, growling, approaching menacingly... another exits and makes nine.

This one was white… it looked bigger, stronger, faster and much more agile...

"An Alpha, how fortunate of me to stumble across such a majestic creature..." mock littered her voice, the Alpha growled like it approved her comment.

Her eyes turned colder then ice, "Pity I have to kill you... I would keep you and call you 'Bubbles'... oh well~" her bubbly nature surfacing for a moment before reverting.

The Alpha roared in anger, apparently he did not like the though of being someone's pet with such a degrading name. To prove its point further it roared sicking the lessers on her.

"Time to play." a sadistic glint coated her words, pulling out her bow and firing two arrows into the closest one...

Killing it immediately.

Rolling out of the way as the Alpha suddenly appeared and slashed down on her earlier position.

"Quick aren't you?" with the same mocking tone she used earlier, only serving to piss off the Alpha even more.

Before the Alpha could manage out a command she fired another arrow, this one glowed green for a moment and striking a Beowulf, exploding in a tornado the size of the beast. When the tornado dissipated all that was left was a red smear and couple of chunks on the forest floor.

'Two down, seven to go'

The Alpha was even more pissed at Nymph for the death of it's kin.

'It sounds pissed' was her obvious thought.

The Alpha was indeed pissed, mentally commanding the lessers to charge with the Alpha joining them.

'This does not bode well...'

She fired four arrows at the two rushing her right, her eyes widen as the two lessers deflect them with their claws.

'Crap! They're getting smarter!'

The Beowolves close in on her, one swipes high and the other swiping low.

'Crap!'

Splitting her bow in two, they form twin katanas, with a backflip she avoids the double attack making them lose balance. Taking the opening she shot towards them, catching the lesser's arms with a quick movement dismembering their arms. The Beowolves howled in pain, Nymph jammed her swords into the necks silencing their howls of pain and roughly pulling the blades out of the sides causing them to hang to the side and fall over.

'Four down Five to go'

She was given no reprieve, the Alpha swung and slashed at Nymph, she was forced on the defensive as the attacks came faster and more vicious. It only got more difficult as the other four joined their leader in the onslaught.

'Dam it! Too many! Gotta think of something!'

Nymph, while defending rather well against multiple coordinated strikes, it was really pushing her limits. She can handle four but the Alpha is High B, Low A class on its own making combat very difficult. A scream of pain escapes Nymph's mouth as the Alpha scored a painful non-debilitating strike on her arm.

'Damn it! That freaking hurt!'

"You'll pay for that...!" she shouted as her aura flared causing her Aquamarine eyes to glow. The resulting effect was her wound healing instantly.

Holding her blades in a reverse grip in a low crouch, she bolted at a much faster pace, the lesser didn't have time to react as she cut it's leg causing into fall down, she wasn't done with a quick spin she severed it's head from the body. A quick flip back to avoid the Alpha's downward slash, wasting no time, she bolts towards the Alpha ducking under a horizontal slash slammed the hilt in it's gut causing it to double over. Using the momentary lapse she struck its leg tendon to slow it down and followed up with a quick pierce to the shoulder, but at the last moment she was forced back by one of the lesser, bringing her blades in an 'x' defense that sent her skidding across the floor.

'Forgot about you...'

With the momentary disposal of the Alpha she switched back to bow form shooting three blue arrows, each one hitting it's mark on the lesser momentarily paralyzing them. Grabbing three more, instead these were white arrow heads, releasing them into their necks, a sudden explosion of icicles jutted from the point of impact killing them seamlessly.

"Just me and you..."

The Alpha let out a loud roar, and looking completely unaffected by the handicap.

'It seems my attack wasn't deep enough... I need to end this and find the others.'

Unknown to Nymph a figure in the tree was watching her and the veins around its body glowed momentarily and disappeared, leaving a parting gift.

Nymph would have charged, but a massive surge of a familiar energy stopped her in her tracks. She tried looking for the source, but there was only her and the Alpha.

'Impossible, Grimm can't use Aura.'

Her head snapped towards the sound of a deep, guttural, distorted roar. What she saw caused her eyes to widen.

"What the..." she couldn't contain her shock and astonishment... the Alpha was no longer white but a smoky grey with purple pulsing eyes and a black haze surrounding it's body.

'It's leg… the slash, it's gone.'

The Alpha snarled, saliva leaking from its mouth and charged faster then last time and with no time to react, she was hit across the chest, sending her flying through a tree and into another. On impact she let out a scream of pain, tears formed in her eyes as she stood up with a stumble.

'Whatever *gasp* that haze did *pant* increased all of its physical *wince* attributes...'

Her Aura was able to stop a good amount of the damage, but the strength and impact behind the attack still made it through, her shirt was in tatters but still somehow maintaining her modesty.

'This was my favorite shirt.' she thought with a humorless chuckle.

'Time to fight back... but first that haze what else does it do besides boost it physically?'

The haze was arcing all across it's body and pulsing outward creating the haze effect she see's now, almost like a...

'A shield of sorts...' she assumed unsurely.

'Lets see if my ...' pulling up her bow she grabbed a single plain arrow, no special effects or bonus properties. The arrow was from Dust enforced Ebony, a nevermore feather, and an obsidian arrowhead.

Pulling it into the bow sling, she pulled it back and took aim. The Alpha noticed its prey moving again and charged at her with reckless abandon. She fired the arrow, but upon impact with the haze the feather burned and lost trajectory and speed, hitting its arm instead of the head like she aimed for. The arrow bounced off its skin with nothing more then a scratch.

'I was half right... this fight just got a whole lot more difficult... *wince* and painful.'

Rolling to her right, dodging a stab with its elongated claws… unfortunately for the tree behind her had no such luck as it pierced all the way through it, and with a snarl it yanked its hand through the side breaking it without any real effort. Just in time to, Nymph slashed at it with the Alpha blocking with its claws and shoving her off and slashing at her, who just barely recovered in time to deflect, then slashing at its arm. The Alpha howled in pain backhanding Nymph sending her flying back with a cut on her cheek that healed quickly.

Recovering she brought up her swords causing her to notice a burn on her hand before that to, began to slowly heal.

'No time to worry about something minor, I need to impede it's movements before using my bow again and using 'that' She thought that last part with apprehension.

The Alpha charged her with the same speed as last time, but Nymph was ready, rolling to her left while slashing at the Alpha's leg hoping to incapacitate it... no such luck. The Alpha jumped back noticing the attack, Nymph mumbled a few select curses and attacking it again, but this time activating her semblance and casting an illusion. The Alpha roared, switching directions and charged at a random tree, destroying it with a single swipe of its hand.

Illusion successful.

Quickly dashing at the Alpha before it could recover, she punctured the tip of her sword through the Alpha's thigh, ignoring the sizzling on her arm. She yanked her katana out causing the Alpha to howl and the illusion to dispel.

'Got him... now, to create some distance between us.' Her plan finalized she backpedaled several feet.

Reconnecting her bow she pulled out three arrows, blue, gray and yellow... pulling her string back she took aim as her bow's design took an ominous Aquamarine glow. Uttering a single word,

"Shatter."

Releasing her arrows as they flew through the air turning into streaks of lights of their respective colors, the lights swirled around each other as if they were dancing and pierced straight through the Alpha.

For a moment, nothing happened...

it was silent.

As if the entire world was muted. The Alpha stood in its position seamlessly unaffected... a slight whimper and sound returned

An explosion rocketing off a short distance away from the battle, destroying several trees and cracking the ground,

Weakening it…

Ozpin & Glynda

Glynda raised a brow at her attack impressed by the destructive power of her technique, "That's quite the attack for someone so young…" her usual business like tone was replaced by a respectful one.

Ozpin nodded, agreeing with her assessment, "True, but all powerful attacks have drawbacks and consequences." he responded with a foreboding tone, even if her observation was irrefutable.

Glynda raised an eyebrow, but said nothing as she watched the proceedings.

Nymph

The Alpha did as Nymph said; It shattered... sending bits and pieces around the area.

"That was clo-AGH!" Nymph screamed in unadulterated pain and fell dropping her bow and clutching her wrist as blood began to slide down.

"Oh my god! What happened?!" shouted a familiar voice.

Nymph looked off to the side noticing Ruby and Weiss, Ruby was running towards her with a concerned expression and Weiss was in a state of awe before turning into concern as she joined Ruby by Nymph.

Earlier with Ruby

Ruby grunted slightly as she landed on the floor with a crouch and took off running though the forest, reciting a single mantra…

'Gotta find Yang, Gotta find Yang, Gotta find Yang, Gotta find…'

"Yaaaang! Yaaaaang!" she shouted at the top of her lungs.

'This is bad, this is really bad, ugh… what if I can't find her?" She mentally panicked.

'What if someone finds her first?' She mentally questioned her self in panic.

'There's always Jaune, he's nice, and he's funny… I don't think he's good in a fight.' She imagines the different scenarios and deadpans the last part.

'Oh! What about Blake? So mysterious, so calm… plus, she likes books! Then again, I'm not sure I'll be able to hold a conversation with her…' she imagined another set of scenarios giving her an awkward expression.

'Maybe… Ladon? He's fun and cute… If his Aura was anything to go by, he's powerful to, but I doubt he wants to be around me after how I acted earlier…' Several scenes went through her head as her expression settled into a heartbroken look.

Shaking her head to get rid of her thoughts, 'Not now… I have to focus. Who else do I know…' Skidding to a stop she looked up and her silver eyes met the icy blue ones of Weiss.

'Perfect! I can prove to her I'm not a child she believes me to be and we can be friends!' Mentally shouting with glee and giving Weiss a small smile.

Weiss kept her eyes locked with Ruby's silver eyes and as she was about to leave her behind, Ladon's advice echoed in her mind,

Don't judge someone before you get to know them

Weiss sighed, 'He's right, I might as well give her a chance.'

Weiss put up a friendly smile, "It seems we're partners Ruby."

Ruby was genuinely surprised that Weiss agreed to be her partner… she figured she would walk off and try to find someone else, maybe Weiss isn't as cold as she seems. She was so lost in her own thoughts; she didn't notice Weiss was waving her hand in front of her face.

"Ruby, Ruby!" she sighed in annoyance and tried again.

"Ruby, hello, you there?" she waited a few moments and sighed in frustration.

"Fine… if you're not going to respond, I'll find someone else…"

That, snapped her out of her catatonic state, "Huh? Weiss, wait! I'm sorry… I just find it hard to believe that you actually want to be my partner…" She spoke in a timid voice.

"I don't…" Ruby's eyes widened and she looked down depressed.

Weiss saw her reaction and continued before she gets the wrong idea and argue or walk away.

"But…" Ruby's head snapped towards Weiss.

"I'm willing to give you chance…" she finished reluctantly.

"Really?!" she was overjoyed that Weiss was actually giving her a chance to prove her self to her.

Weiss, seeing Ruby's expression began to regret her choice and decided to clear things up.

"Yeah, don't screw it up and by no means does this make us friends." She stated a matter of factly dragging Ruby along with her as she walked away.

Ruby didn't really care she was given a second chance.

As they were walking away, or being dragged in Ruby's case, Jaune yelled out to them noticing them. He would have ran to catch up with them, but he was currently 'pinned' at the moment.

"Hey wait! Come back! Who's going to get me down from here!?" He panicked as they were getting farther away.

Weiss ignored his pleas and Ruby was currently too engulfed by happiness to hear him.

But every now and then the clouds show their silver lining and Jaune's was…

"Jaune!" A voice yelled out, Jaune looked down and noticed Pyrrha below him with her arms crossed under chest.

Jaune had to use all his will power to not look down her cleavage, 'I am not a pervert, I am not a pervert!' he mentally yelled at himself.

"Do you… have any spots left on your team?" she asked jokingly, already knowing the answer.

Jaune picked up on her joke and crossed his arms over his chestplate, "Very funny…" he said in faux annoyance turning his head away and for a moment there was silence… Jaune turned his head back to her with a pleasant smile as he willed himself not to look down her cleavage.

'Don't look, don't look, don't look.' He chanted mentally.

Unaware to his thoughts, she had her own, 'He has a cute smile.' She smiled back at him with her own.

For a moment they stared, not a romantic stare, a sibling like stare, until Jaune broke the silence.

"Soo… you going to let me down?" he questioned curiously, the hole her weapon made was steadily getting bigger.

Pyrrha realized her thoughtlessness, "I'm sorry, I'll get you down right now." She answered apologetically.

Back with Ruby & Weiss

The two were rushing through the forest, now that Ruby was no longer being dragged it made traveling much quicker.

"Hurry! I will not have my mission delayed because you were too slow." She rushed since they wasted enough time as it is, "I swear… if I get a bad grade-" She was interrupted by Ruby suddenly appearing in front of her with her hands clawing in front of her like cat.

Weiss was confused on how she just suddenly appeared in front of her, "What the-" she wasn't able to finish as Ruby began to speak.

"I'm not slow~" Pointing to her self, "See… you don't have to worry about me." She said with a big proud and assuring smile with her fists on her side in a victorious pose.

"Wait, when did you-" She tried to speak but was interrupted again by Ruby speaking over her.

Seemingly ignoring her question and bewildered expression, she began to speak, "Weiss, just because I don't exactly know how to deal with people, doesn't mean I don't know how to deal with monsters."

Rushing to her side and draping her arm over Weiss's shoulders with Weiss crossing her arms, she continued, "You're about to see a whole different side of me Weiss…"

Weiss looked at her in disbelief, "…and after it's all over, you'll be like…"

"That Ruby girl is really, really cool..." motioning her hand in front of her and Weiss, "and I want to be your friend." Ruby concluded with her head next to Weiss's.

Weiss tilted her head away trying to retain some of her personal space. Weiss would have retorted, but was interrupted by a sharp scream.

"Weiss did you hear that? Ruby asked her tone was deadly serious and Weiss was shocked but shook it off immediately in favor of responding to Ruby. Holding back a snark remark at the obvious question and judging by from Ruby's tone of voice, now was not the time for her usual remarks.

"Yeah, I did." She responded with an equally serious tone.

"We should go see if she needs help." She stated firmly with a hint of concern in her voice as she turned to run, but was stopped when Weiss grabbed her wrist.

Ruby looked at her questioningly.

"We don't have time, we have an objective to complete." She said firmly, Ruby was aghast that Weiss implied that the mission is more important then someone's life.

The implication genuinely pissed off Ruby, how could she be so cold… it goes against everything she stands for.

"Let go of me Weiss…" she spoke with an edge to her voice. She will not allow Weiss to stop her.

"No, we have a mission to complete." She fired back with edge equal to Ruby's.

"I will not leave her behind because it's convenient." She spat her edge intensifying as she sent a heated glare at Weiss who surprisingly flinched before quickly recovering.

"She'll be fine and if not… she shouldn't have enrolled at Beacon in the first place if she wasn't ready for trials such as these." She replied, her edge never leaving.

"I don't care! I swore I would help everyone I can and I will not let someone get critically injured or worse… die! Knowing I could have done something and prevented it from happening!" Ruby shouted her anger at Weiss's blatant disregard for life, reached its peak.

Weiss was taken back by her surge of anger causing her grip to slack in which, Ruby immediately took advantage of by yanking her wrist from Weiss's grip. She turned her body towards Weiss her eyes filled with untold amounts of fury, a far cry from her usual optimistic and innocent ones… Weiss felt strangely small under her glare.

"How would you feel if that was you injured or in danger and someone passed you up because they had more 'important' things to do?! How would you feel if someone just left you to die?! Nothing and I mean nothing is more important then someone's life!" Ruby yelled at her forcing Weiss to take step back as memory resurfaced from long ago.

Flashback

In the forest of Atlas a twelve year old Weiss was wearing a light blue dress with snowflakes etching the hem with tears trailing down her face and staining it, running with no aim or sense of direction, mumbling to herself.

"Stupid Daddy... Mommy died and doesn't even go to the funeral… then he marries me off like some kind of object…" She mumbled between snobs and sniffles.

As she ran she did not hear or see a creature slowly stalk her, waiting, its red eyes following every single movement, waiting for its chance to strike.

Fortunately, for the creature, its opportunity will appear in the form of a small but sturdy protruding tree root.

"I'm, not go-ah!" She shrieked, tripping over a tree root, scraping her knees and arms. Her once light blue dress covered in dirt.

"Ow… *sniffle* stupid…" she pulled her knees in to her chest resting her head on top of them and mourned, her sadness overtaking her and her anger turning in to sobs, though they were muffled they were still heartbreakingly loud.

The beast walked out from the layers of trees, snarling at the incapacitated curled up form of Weiss Schnee.

Hearing said snarl she lifted her head and met the frightening red eyes of an Ahlf, a wolf class Grimm, it approached her agonizingly slow, seemingly relishing in her terrified demeanor. Its black fur glistened in the moonlight, its mask an eerie white accentuating the blood red veins that pulsed around the mask.

She was utterly terrified… her tears began to roll down her face again. She crawled back hoping to get away from the beast that wanted nothing more then to eat her for dinner, she kept crawling back as much as she could, her back impacted the tree and she was trapped.

The Ahlf continued its slow trek towards its prey.

Weiss was trapped and her only thoughts were, 'Am I going to die? If I die, I'll be with mamma again, but do I want to die? No… mamma wouldn't want me to give up like this… but I can't do anything, I don't have anything to protect myself... I can't do anything… sorry Mamma, but at least we get to see each other again.' She closed her eyes and waited her death hoping it was quick and painless.

The creature looked at its prey, seeing it accepted its fate. It was about to pounce but a squelch and a spray of blood splattered across the forest ground, it look to its left and noticed a stranger clad in a cloak and hood his grey eyes emotionless with that final image the creature turned to ash.

Weiss waited and waited, but nothing happened, 'A-am I dead? I didn't feel anything, what happened?' Opening her eyes she saw a person directly in front of her, only thing she was able to see in the dim moonlight was his grey eyes. She then blushed at how close they were.

Noticing her redness, he placed his hand n her forehead making her even redder, "You Okay? You're very red. Are you injured or sick?" he asked softly, his gaze equally soft. Moving his hand to her cheek with back of it, he placed it on her cheek trying to feel heat, if any.

Weiss couldn't handle the soft contact of his hands anymore and slapped it away, "Wh-what are y-you d-doing?" she attempted to sound mad with her stutter, but she only succeeded in looking cute.

"Right, well, you should be more careful, the forests are dangerous, especially at night. What possessed you to run all the way out here anyways?" He asked completely unaffected by her slap as he patiently awaited her response.

Weiss was having an inner debate about whether or not to tell him, she thought what does she have to lose, he's a nice guy. "I-I ran away from home." She spoke timidly not sure how he would react.

"Why would you run away?" He asked genuinely curious, what could have caused a girl like her, the Schnee Heiress, to run away? He thought Heiresses were pampered and such… it seems he would have to keep an eye on her.

"because…" she began to explain that her father she's not daughter only a Heiress and when her mother died he didn't even bother attending her funeral. Then he placed her in an arranged marriage after her mother fought so hard to get her out of it. At the end of her explanation she wailed into her mysterious savior's chest.

He sighed as he begins to rub her back soothingly while whispering honeyed words in her ear to calm her down. After a few minutes of comfort she finally calmed down enough for him to talk.

"Look as bad as it is, I have to take you back… the forests are extremely dangerous at night, especially since that Grimm probably had a pack with it and they'll searching for it's scout." He said seriously, although the regret in his voice was obvious. He turned around and crouching with his hands behind them ready to support her legs.

She nods understanding his reasoning for taking her back even if they both have the same feeling about taking her back. Her face showed confusion at his current position, "Why are you crouching?"

"So you can hop on my and get you home faster." Stating it like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Weiss turned red, "A-are y-you c-crazy! I'm w-wearing a dr-dress!" She yelled in embarrassment by his suggestion.

"Oh god… relax, it's dark, people won't be able to see anything. Plus, we'll be moving too fast for anyone to see anyways." He explained in an assuring tone, rolling his eyes at her discomfort.

"F-fine…" She reluctantly agreed to his logic and got on his back, placing his hands under her thighs. The position caused a reaction in the form of a blush from the gentle placement of his hands, wrapping her arms around his neck and resting her head on his shoulder, their cheeks in close proximity.

"Make sure your hands don't wander either." She glared at the figure and he blushed at her warning, but none of this was noticeable within the darkness of the hood.

"I'll see to it, so it doesn't happen." He acquiesced to her request as he had no plans on pulling such a stunt in the first place.

"Good… I rather not harm my savior." Fixing him with her most menacing glare making him gulp and nod rapidly, Weiss smiled triumphantly over her success.

"Right… hold on tight, it's going to be quite a ride." He said as he crouched, Weiss taking his advice to heart, she wrapped her legs around his waist and her arms tightened around his neck, but not enough to choke him. His aura flared and sped off at incredible speeds.

Weiss felt like she was flying, soaring through the sky like a bird. She felt all her worries rush past her through the wind, leaving them behind. She couldn't help but let a smile spread across her face and the giggle that slid out of her mouth. She was overjoyed and was happy for the first time since her mother passed away two weeks ago and her subsequent services two days ago.

The unknown figure had his own small smile on his face at hearing her tinkling laughter. It reminded him of his little sister; her tinkling laugh always warmed him his heart. Weiss's giggle and smiles were still present, but as all things ends, so did their time together as her destination was finally upon them.

Coming to a stop he turned his head to Weiss and saw her smile disappear her laughter die down, replaced by sadness as she got off his back and dusted her self off.

"Thank you for saving me… I probably wouldn't be alive right now if it wasn't for your timely arrival." Her voice was crestfallen, but you could tell her gratitude was there.

Gently placing his hand on her shoulder in a reassuring manner, "No problem, I'm always willing to help someone, after all nothing is more important then someone's life." She nodded and he gave her an unseen smile.

"Right, I should get going, father won't be too happy I stood out so long, I wish I could leave, but there's nothing I can do about it." She said disheartened by the fact with a downtrodden expression.

"One final thing before I go…" he said to Weiss gaining her attention.

"What?"

"Try not to run away again, someone won't always be there to save you and remember; if you don't like the way things are, do something about of it instead of running away and crying." He lectured softly yet sternly.

She looked at him for a moment and smiled with a nod, "I will endure until I am able to do something about it."

"I have to go." He said as was about to runoff, Weiss called out to him and he stopped and looked towards her,

"Yes?"

"Umm…" She blushed, "w-will I ever see you again?" she asked shyly.

He sighed, "I really don't know… maybe? For now, focus on getting out of here and when you do, we'll see each other soon afterwards, okay?" He smiled at her pleased expression even though the chances of the seeing each other again are slim to none…

"Alright, I'll wait till then! The next time you seem me I won't be helpless I will be a huntress a strong one at that!" Her eyes filled with conviction as she smiled brightly, an image that will be burned in his mind.

.He smiled, "See you then Weiss Schnee…" his final good bye before speeding off.

"Bye!" she yelled as she turned around and walked towards the door, but though invaded her mind something she forgot, then hit her,

'I never even saw his face…' she gained a downcast expression, but brightened immediately soon afterwards, 'I'll know him when I see him next time.'

She continued her walk through the doors to her home with a final thought, 'Time to act like the Heiress he wants so I can get what I want and get out of here.'

Flashback end

"Weiss! Are you paying attention?" Ruby already frustrated with the Heiress unresponsive nature; first, she blatantly disregards a person's life, then she ignores her completely. Now, normally, this wouldn't bother her this much, but she was still heated from her earlier comments.

"Weiss, I'm going…" She exasperated with a sigh as she ran off, but she didn't get far as Weiss finally snapped out of it.

"Ruby! Wait up! I'm coming with you!" She yelled causing Ruby to slow down allowing her to catch up.

"I thought you said-"

"Ububub…" Raising her hand in front of Ruby, effectively silencing her and allowing her to speak, "Nothing is more important then a life remember?" Weiss recalled, with her usual annoyed expression, but this time it was accompanied by a genuine smile that warmed Ruby's heart.

Ruby smiled back and nodded, "Right, we need to move." With that they took off through the forest solely focused on locating the area of the scream while they subconsciously avoided limbs, roots, and trunks.

Fortunately, they didn't have to work too hard as another scream made itself known, but it sounded so much more painful this time.

"Weiss!" Ruby screamed towards the Heiress who was trailing next to her. She nodded immediately knowing the needed to pick up the pace.

Ruby took note that she understood the unspoken command, pulled out her Scythe, aiming the barrel behind her and fired off several shots, doubling, tripling her speed. Weiss brought out her rapier and activated her speed glyphs for her to jump on and boost her to keep pace with Ruby.

A few seconds later they arrived at the scene, "That's Nymph…" she said quietly just enough for Weiss to hear. She looked towards the battle just as Nymph pierced her katana through its thigh and jumping back firing three arrows as he uttered a single word,

"Shatter"

The arrows flew through the air as if they were dancing around each other as they pierced through the Alpha, now Omega.

"Did she miss?" Ruby asked when she saw no Reaction from the Omega.

She would have responded if it wasn't for the explosion that happened, causing them to stumble from the powerful shockwave.

Turning back to the Omega, they saw it do as it was told and shattered.

Weiss didn't know how to respond as he awestruck by the pure destructive power of the attack.

'A-amazing…' was her only thought.

Ruby was thinking along the same lines with the few extra thoughts, 'That's amazing! That attack was not only powerful but beautiful as well.' Her thoughts would have went on of it wasn't for the planet shattering scream of pain that came from Nymph's lungs. She released her bow and dropped to her knees clutching her bleeding wrist.

Ruby saw the blood trail down her arm and ran towards her, "Oh my god! What happened?" Her shout of concern snapped Weiss out of her awe and replaced with worry as she ran to and knelt next to Ruby and Nymph.

"Does it matter? She's injured you dolt!" She shouted at Ruby for unnecessary questions. She may not like Faunus, but all life is important, no matter what or who they are… something she forgot, until some sense was knocked in to her.

"I'll *wince* be fine." Nymph tried to assure them, but Weiss was not buying it, pulling a first aid kit out of what seemed like no where.

Ruby's concern turned to confusion trying to figure out where Weiss pulled out the kit. Nymph would have been curious to if it wasn't for the pain constantly jolting through her from battle.

Weiss gently lifted her injured arm and started applying disinfectant along her wound and began to wrap it in gauze.

"Ruby stop gaping at me and steady her arm so I can wrap it up properly." Weiss said sternly never taking her eyes off of Nymph's arm. Once again Ruby was confused to how Weiss knew she was gawking at her, but did as requested.

Weiss continued to wrap her arm, deciding to make small talk with her Faunas classmate, "So… that attack you used, what's it called?"

Nymph looked at her quizzically before shrugging and answering, "It's called Dance of the Fireflies… it's one of my most powerful attacks, but I hate using it..." She explained.

Weiss was taken back that she hated using such a powerful technique… so she decided to sate her curiosity, "Why do you hate using the technique?"

"Simple, the attack has a major backlash…" she stated as she lifted her arm, "…making it incomplete and dangerous."

"So what exactly did it do that it opened your previous wound and made a new one?" Weiss asked confused on how it caused such an injury.

"I don't exactly know that's what I've been trying to figure out… but what I do know it has something to do with the massive amounts of Aura I channel through my arm into the bow." Nymph explained her theory at the conspicuous injury that appears along her wrist and forearm.

"Have you tried using less?" Ruby suggested, interested in the current topic.

"I have, but it's the same result… I tried channeling it normally as well without trying to form the attack and nothing happened but as soon as I tried channeling to create the attack the damage becomes evident." She explicated frustrated with the major flaw in her attack.

"That's… troubling." was Weiss's simple answer, making one more wrap around her arm.

"It is… I've made little to no progress for the two years I spent trying to get rid of that flaw, all my attempts ended in failure…" She winced as Weiss made the final loop tightening the gauze around her arm and knotting it.

"That should hold you till we get out of the forest… but try not to use that attack again though." She informed making her kit disappear into her combat clothes.

This caused Ruby to gape again, 'Where'd it go?' she looked around Weiss trying to figure out where she put it.

"Don't worry I had no intention of using the *wince* attack again." She clarified as she got up wincing every now and then from her injuries. Even more so when she picked up her bow and tested her arm with it in her hand before putting it on her back as to not strain her arm.

'I know it's somewhere…' her eyes wandered Weiss's person before stopping at her skirt, 'maybe…'

She inched closer and closer to Weiss, extending her hand towards the hem.

"What are you doing?" Weiss asked Ruby causing her to immediately retract her hand as Weiss turned to her. Ruby whistled and looked hoping Weiss didn't notice her attempt.

"Who? Me?" She asked putting up an innocent front acting like she had no idea what she was talking about.

"You were just-"

"No I wasn't." She answered very quickly, too quickly for Weiss's liking, but narrowed her eyes in suspicion and turned back to Nymph to look over her wound once more. Ruby attempted again, slowly moving her hand to the hem of her skirt and just as she was about to grab it, Weiss immediately turned around, but Ruby was faster… at least she hoped she was.

"Ruby, I just saw you trying to grab my skirt." She said confidently, knowing she did in fact see her attempt such a thing.

"No I didn't and even if I did, you have no proof." She fired back, feigning ignorance.

Weiss's eyes narrowed even more so and Nymph couldn't help but let out a chuckle, finding their banter funny and entertaining.

"You know~ if people didn't know you they would think you were best friends, if not sisters with the way you two act." She remarked mirthfully with her hand in front of her mouth as she giggled.

"Hardly, I would no-STOP!' She yelled at Ruby for attempting to lift her skirt again, but Ruby just whistled and looked away again.

Weiss cautiously turned her back and focused on Nymph again, "Anyways as I was saying, before I was… interrupted!" snapping her head back glaring at Ruby, only to see she was eating a cookie with the façade of innocence, too innocent if you were to ask Weiss. She looked back towards Nymph who was in a small giggling fit.

"I would not be related to such a… dunce!" She said snapping her head back at Ruby who was now drinking a cup of milk that seemed to come from no where, she took a sip like nothing happened, as if she did not just try to peak under skirt again.

"This milk is great!" She exclaimed while ignoring the glare Weiss sent to her taking another drink of her milk.

"Tch…" She looked back at Nymph who was giggling a little harder as Ruby attempted a fourth time.

"We should proba-RUBY!" Weiss screamed at Ruby who decided to inspect Crescent Rose.

Ignoring Weiss's accusing outburst, "It seems I forgot to polish you today, sorry my sweetheart." She told her scythe in an apologetic tone, gently caressing Crescent Rose.

Nymph started to laugh loudly, "We should go, before it gets any later." She notified the duo in between laughs and giggles.

"Ruby, she's right, we should go… I don't want to be last ones, so, enough of your childish impulses." Weiss said seriously causing Ruby to pout at being called a child and not be able to find her secret storage space, but shook it off immediately and nodding.

"You're right, we need to get going." Ruby said her serious side revealing itself again.

But before any of them could run off a cracking noise halted them causing them to look at each other with Nymph being the first to respond.

'I'm not the only one who heard that right?" She asked dreading the answer.

"No we hea-" the floor shook, "what the-" was all the time they had to say before the floor collapsed beneath them catching them by surprise and before they could recover they impacted the ground and blacked out.

Ozpin and Glynda

"It seems her attack was more powerful then she thought." Ozpin stated looking at his scroll, witnessing the cave in.

Glynda nodded, "That's quite the ability… shall I postpone the ceremony till tonight?"

"Quite and please do." Ozpin responded his eyes never leaving the scroll.

'How will you three handle the secrets that dwell within the Emerald Forest?' Was Ozpin's final thought before switching the camera to the next pair.

Glynda nodded and walked off, planning on redoing the schedule to fit in this new development.

AN:

And that's another chapter!

Now don't get crazy with what I did between Jaune and Pyrrah, feelings can change, but I'm still debating on pairings and I want to keep options open.

I'm leaning towards my original plan of OCxRuby or OCxRubyxWeiss if you want a the WhiteRose pairing still in there... If I do decide on of those two the final pairing would be BlakexYang PyrrahxJaune and the OCs will be paired with other OCs and if single pairing with Ruby, WeissxOc WeissxSon and who knows Jaune just might get Velvet as part of his pairing, but know pairings are still varying so it could be completely different from what I wrote down.

Anyways OC's are still being accepted! Variety is necessity! Different personalities gain different reactions and random shenanigans!

The Emerald Arc will be a lot longer then Canon as I will be building a history behind Remnant.

Also the updates will be getting slower, why? Because this Arc is going to be major and it will take sometime to fit everything I want in this Arc, but no worries I will try to finish it as fast as possible.

I want to be able to set a foundation for future events so people wont look at the story and say 'Where the hell did he say that was possible?'

Also for the mysterious spectator watching Nymph's fight, it will be making a lot of cameos to screw over the characters in the story and make their life hell.

Anyways, I want to Identify a few Grimms;

Ahlf- C class wolf Grimm

Native Habitat- Forests of Atlas

Description- Usually travels in packs but always send out a scout ahead of them to Recon, scavenge, hunt etc. Basically everything a normal wolf pack does. They're devolved form of Beowulfs.

They're usually black with a White Mask on its' face with the usual blood red veins on the mask.

Omega-A class Wolf/Humanoid Hybrid Grimm

Native Habitat- Unknown... to you.

Description- An Alpha's superior, it's eyes pulse purple and it's completely Smokey Grey and much larger then your average Alpha, and unlike other Grimm it has an Aura, it is also much more intelligent and has increased physical abilities, It's skins is a full body armor making exceedingly difficult to damage without a major amount of force. In lay mans terms, A Super Powered Beowulf.

Omega-Alpha-Ahlf is the chain of command in Grimm hierarchy.

The Black Haze is basically a power up, only usable by high ranking Grimm, it increases all stats and if enough energy is put into the black Haze it can 'evolve' the creature into it's next Form, as was seen with the Alpha.

As I get further into the story, more Grimm will be revealed and so will it's Hierarchy.
