Chapter 7: Dreams and Illusions

"Now Blue use water gun!" Blue shot a stream of water in between Bianca and the lillipup stopping it in its tracks.

"What that hell?! Who's there show yourself you coward!" barked the man. Aoi walked around the corner so they could see him. His hat covered his face so they couldn't tell who he was. He made his way to Bianca and helped her up.

"You guys are a real piece of work. Abusing an innocent Pokémon and trying to steal from another trainer." Aoi said with a look of disgust on his face.

"What do you know punk? We're trying to free them from humans who are keeping them locked up in tiny prisons and making them do their bidding. If your want to interfere with our plans then that makes you just as guilty as the rest! Now get ready for a beat down. Lillipup use tackle!"

"Blue dodge it and counter with water gun!" Blue was able to easily jump out-of-the-way of the lillipup and slam it down into the ground with a water gun from above. "Now use water gun to propel yourself down and finish this with tackle!" Before the grunt could tell his lillipup to move blue had already slammed into it knocking it out.

"Wow great job! I can't believe you let this kid beat you." scoffed the female grunt. "Alright I'm next boy and I'm not going to hold back just because you a kid. Now purrloin come on out!"

"Do you still want to keep battling blue?

"Of course I can't back down now!"

"Alright let's finish this then."

"Purrloin use scratch now!"

"Blue block it with your scalchop, and counter with tackle."

"What's the matter he's just a kid so he should be easy to beat right?" mocked the male grunt

"Shut up! This isn't over yet! Purrloin use scratch again." Her purrloin lunged towards Blue who just stood still."

"What's the matter kid did you finally realize how powerful we are" Aoi didn't say anything back he just stared at blue and nodded. Right before her purrloin was about to hit blue he fell backwards and the purrloin went right past him.

"Now Blue water gun! Shoot it straight into the air! The purrloin shot into the sky and fell back down on the male grunt.

"No this can't be defeated by a brat, but if we don't obtain the dream mist then we're screwed. Hurry up and cough it up munna!" Said the woman as she continued to beat it.

"Knock it off!" Cried Aoi.

"What are you two doing goofing off?" said a mysterious man.

"Is that who I think it is." Said the male grunt

"No! No way it can't be he should be on his way back to the base." A man appeared behind the female grunt.

"We of team plasma shall separate Pokemon from foolish people!" As soon as he appeared he disappeared.

"Aoi what's going on? Who was that man?" questioned Bianca

"I'm not exactly sure but he looked a lot like the man who gave the speech the other day in Accumula town. I think he name was Ghetsis."

"If you can't fulfill your duties than you're of no use to me!" This time he was in between them next to the munna.

"T-this isn't… Ghetsis when he is gathering followers…or Ghetsis when he is trying to control people by tricking them with speeches!" screeched the female grunt

"Yeah… this is the Ghetsis when a plan has failed, and he is about to issue punishment…" said the male grunt

"At any rate let's hurry and say we're sorry so he forgives us! Next time you won't be so lucky punk! We won't forget this." With that the two of them ran off faster than a Rapidash.

"What a stroke of luck that Ghetsis guy came when he did huh Aoi" Bianca said with a sigh of relieve.

"Yeah I guess so, but where did he come from and how was he able to disappear like that. Anyway we should bring munna to nurse joy so she can treat its wounds." The two of them grabbed the munna and rushed it back to the Pokémon center in Striaton. Aoi told Bianca that he would take care of everything else from here and that she should go get some rest. She reluctantly agreed and said goodbye to Aoi for now. The real reason he sent Bianca away was so he could talk to Blue in private.

"Blue come on out" Aoi released him from his pokeball

"What's up Aoi?"

"I want to thank you for earlier. If you hadn't done what you did I would've sat there and done nothing and….Bianca would have lost her Pokémon. I'm sorry for being so weak please forgive me Blue" as he said this tears started to swell up. Blue jumped on his shoulder and started to wipe away his tears.

"It's okay Aoi. I'm not mad at you! To tell you the truth I was pretty scared too, but I knew that couldn't just sit there and watch. It's only thanks to you though that we were able to save Bianca and that munna."

"What do you mean by that?" asked Aoi.

"Well before I became your partner whenever I battled i'd always lose because of my size. I was never picked by any of the new trainers that came to see professor juniper. I started to think I would never have a trainer of my own. When you picked me I was so happy, but I got really scarred when Bianca suggested we battle. I thought if you found out that I was terrible at battling you'd want to get rid of me, but once we started battling and you gave me a command I forgot all about that and wanted to show everyone how strong I was. With you by my side i know my dream of one day being entered into the hall of fame will come true!"

"Wow Blue I had no idea. Thank you for sharing that with me it means a lot. I promise I won't let you down. And remind me later before we go to bed to talk everyone else. I want to tell them all about why I'm on my journey. "

Would Aoi Andrews please report to the front desk your Pokémon are finished healing. I repeat would Aoi Andrews please report to the front desk your Pokémon are finished healing. Rang the announcement. Aoi made his way to the front desk where nurse joy was waiting for him.

"Ahh Aoi I happy to report that all of your Pokémon are fighting fit."

"Thank you nurse joy" He grabbed all of his Pokémon and picked up the munna and started heading towards Professor Fennel's house."

"We hope to see you again have a good night"

"Hey there munna my name is Aoi what's yours? It didn't respond. "Don't worry I'm not going to hurt you. I'd just like to ask you for some assistance is all."

"If you must know my name is Yume."

"What a beautiful name, that means flower right? Aoi asked quizzically

"Wait you understood what I said!" exclaimed Yume with a shocked expression.

"Yeah sorry I guess I should have started off with that."

"Yes you should have, but I'll forgive you because you rescued me from those team plasma goons. Now what do you need my help for? Also just so you know my name doesn't mean flower its dream!"

"Dream huh? I'll be sure to remember that. Regardless its a beautiful name. I was wondering if you could give me some dream mist.

"That's it? Are you sure there is nothing else you'd like?

"Nope just some dream mist"

"Alright if that's all you want then I'll gladly give you some. You're an odd human Aoi.

"Huh what do you mean by that?"

"Well I mean most humans would kill to have a psychic type like myself to use in battle."

"Ohh I guess you have a point there. Psychic types are very powerful and highly sought after, but I'm not on my journey to beat the league or anything like that."

"Mhm hey Aoi do you mind if I ask what you're on your journey for then?"

"Well you see Yume I'm going on my journey to find my childhood friend Aya. The two of us were inseparable, but she had to move back here after her parents finished their research on Pokemon migration, and for a while we kept in touch until I told her that I didn't want to go on a journey anymore. After that I didn't hear anything from her for a long time but a couple of years ago I got a letter from her saying she wanted to go on a journey with me and that brings us to the present really."

"You must care a lot for this girl huh?"

"Yeah she means a lot to me."

"Alright I've decided Aoi!"

"Decided what?"

"That I'm going to help you on your journey to find Aya!

"Really?! Why?"

"Because I really want to meet this person! Your head is full of dreams of her and what you're going to do when the two of you meet. "

"Well then welcome to the team Yume" Aoi grabbed a poke ball from his bag and tapped her head. She disappeared into the ball and it shook a couple of times in his hand. It gave off a chime after the last shake. With the addition of Yume to his team he hurried back to Fennel's house so he could give her some dream mist and return her jar.

"You think Aoi was able to get some dream mist fennel? It's getting awfully late." Amanita said looking out the window with a worried expression on her face.

"I'm sure he's fine, but why are you so concerned about him Amanita? Hmmm do I detect the faint scent of love, do you like him. Come on you've got to tell me!"

"Ummm..it's just that I've heard there has been some strange people hanging around the dreamyard and the Pokémon inside can be hostile towards humans so I'd hate to see him get hurt is all"

"Mhm is that so Amanita, Well I wouldn't worry he's got some Pokémon to protect him so he shouldn't be in any danger."

"I really hope your right." All of a sudden there was a knock at the door.

"A visitor at this hour I wonder who that could be"

"I'll get it Fennel" Amanita opened the door to see Aoi standing outside with a munna on top of his head.

"Hey there Amanita"

"Ummm..he-hello Aoi" Amanita then turned away from Aoi

"Do you think I could see the professor then?

"Yes please come inside I will take you to her." Amanita led him upstairs to her office making sure to not accidentally look at Aoi. When she got to the door she placed herself against the wall so she wouldn't have to turn around and see him.

"She's in there" said Amanita

"Thank you Amanita. Are you alright though?"

"I'm fine please don't concern yourself over me there's just something I happened to notice with this wall and it needs closer inspection." Aoi scratched his head a little confused but he had more pressing things to do than try to decipher what she was doing. He knocked on the door and started to speak

"Excuse me Professor Fennel its me Aoi I have the dream mist for you is now a good-"Before he could finish speaking the door opened up and she grabbed him and gave him a big hug.

"Ahhh thank you thank you thank you so much for getting some dream mist for me! You have no idea how much this is going to help me." Just then Fennel noticed Amanita with her face against the wall. "Amanita what are you doing?!"

"Umm professor Fennel i was just umm you see I thought I saw a hole in the wall so I thought I should check all the walls to see if there were any more."

"Oh I see. Keep up the great work! Now Aoi how much dream mist did you get for me?" Aoi grabbed Yume from the top of his head and held her up to Fennel.

"As much as you need Professor. You see this munna has agreed to give you some dream mist whenever you need some."

"Wow Aoi! You're amazing! To think you were able to befriend one of the munnas. I never would have imagined I wouldn't have to worry about dream mist again."

"Well I can't let you keep her forever but when you need some more dream mist I'll send her over so you can get some."

"You've got yourself a deal Aoi! To thank you Aoi I'd like for you to stay over tonight. It's gonna take a while to collect the dream mist plus it's already pretty late. You can stay in the guest bedroom."

"Thank you professor."

"Amanita you can inspect the walls later do you think you could prepare a meal for Aoi and get the guest bedroom tidy."

"Whhhaaaaaaaaa?! H-h-he's go-goi-going to spe-spend the ni-nig-night ov-over!" exclaimed Amanita who was bright red.
