A/N:- Hi everyone, I'm back! I can't believe it's been a month since I last updated! Well, I hope this is good, I like it I know!

Mai's POV

I had gone back to the kitchen after seeing that Nolie and Gene weren't in the hallway. Naru had asked for some tea and shockingly used a 'please' and 'thank you' when he asked and I made it for him. Louise had finally managed to get Zach to stay sat in his chair and leave Gene and Nolie to whatever it was they were doing. She'd done this by getting a reluctant Naru to chat with him.

"So…what sort of things are you interested in?" Naru asked in a rather stilted manner. Louise told me what he said. 'He really isn't very good at talking to people is he?'

"Well…" Zach looked like he was considering the question for a moment. Louise had an 'uh-oh' expression forming on her face. "I…like…Pokémon and games and football and…" Louise's expression eased a little as she shared each thing Zach listed with me until he stated the next thing. "…embarrassing Kit in front of his girlfriend and…"

"I think that's enough Zach." Louise interrupted before he could say anything more. Naru had a slight smirk on his face which he quickly hid by sipping his tea.

"What're you into?" Zach asked before changing his mind about wanting Naru to answer. "Don't tell me, it's boring and disgusting grown-up stuff like kissing and reading and…um…"

"I think we get the point Zach." Louise sighed. This time Naru had told me what was said. I let out a small laugh at what Zach had come up with.

Naru finished his tea and then turned to me. I saw Zach roll his eyes out of the corner of mine.

"I would like for you to go find my brother and Miss Gray, tell them we need to get back to the case. Louise, if you would be so kind as to find Madoka, John and Miss Matsuzaki and relay to them the same message?" He ordered before getting up and going towards the door.

"What about Zach?" I asked.

"Oh, I have a special job for him." Naru said slyly before exiting the room to presumably go back to base.

I shrugged at what he had said after he left and decided to get on with the task I had been assigned. I first checked all the rooms in the house with no luck so I decided to try outside. I found the people I was after curled up together on the lawn. I carefully went over to them as Gene planted a kiss on the top of Nolie's head.

"Hey guys, Naru wants you to come back in so we can get to work." I announced as I reached them. Nolie turned and blushed a little before getting up and smoothing her skirt down then offering a hand to Gene. He ignored the offered hand, instead struggling to his feet by himself. Nolie just sighed and put her hand by her side. I looked at them with confusion.

"Kit's trying to look all manly and not accept help when he needs it." She said. Gene frowned at this.

"It's not my fault I have bad knees." He muttered.

"You have bad knees because you were hit by a car and were in a coma for a year." Nolie chastised. "You know you find it difficult to get up off the floor by yourself."

"Yeah, and I also need to learn to deal with it by myself for any time you aren't around." He replied. "Also, I don't think…er…just now helped." He added cryptically. Nolie went slightly redder before clearing her throat.

"Yes, well, now we are all standing shall we go to the base?" She asked. Gene nodded and started to walk, albeit a little stiffly, towards the house.

"What was that all about?" I questioned as he went out of earshot.

"Can we maybe talk about this later?" She answered. I shrugged and nodded still confused as to their whole exchange.

Naru's POV

I had just sat down at the monitors and started flicking through my files when that kid, Zach, came in with an expression that said he didn't want to be here. I had noticed that he seemed to have a knack for causing trouble which was just perfect for what I had in mind. I grabbed some paper and a pen and scribbled a few questions down for him to ask.

"Hey Kid, come here." I ordered.

"Why should I?" He asked.

"I have something I want you to do for me. You should enjoy it as I think it will be something you will excel at." I informed.

"Do you have to use such fancy and stupid words?" He questioned. I was a little taken aback. I didn't think there was much wrong with my speech pattern. I shook my head and focussed on what I had been trying to get the kid to do.

"Look, just listen okay? There are a couple of idiots, I mean people, who work for me and I would like you to call them and ask these questions." I said, showing him the list of questions I had written. He eyed me suspiciously.

"You want me to do a job you're too lazy to do yourself?" He tried to confirm.

"It's not that I'm too lazy, I just have more important things to do than talk with a pair of twits." I defended. He seemed to consider what I had said for a moment before slowly nodding his head.

"Okay, I'll do it, but I don't have to be all stuffy like you do I?" He asked. I almost let out a chuckle.

I shook my head. "No, you can be as…you…as you want with them." I verified, giving my full approval to be as rude as he wants. He took the list from me and studied what I had written, a small, mischievous smile appearing on his lips.

The others came through the door at that moment and Zach went over to Gene and asked, well demanded, to use his phone. Gene, of course, denied him so I reluctantly offered the use of my own phone as the names would be written in English. If Mai knew the situation and what Zach wanted she would probably have offered the services of her phone, but the problem with that would be that everyone's name would be written in kanji.

"Hey, who'm I ringing?" Zach demanded.

"Look for a Yasuhara. He's the only one out of the two that can speak English." I instructed then turned back to my file whilst keeping an ear out for the kid's conversation.

Zach's POV

So the angry guy insisted I ring these people that work for him. Something Kit would never let me do as he doesn't trust me on the phone. Okay, so when Kit started going out with that chick he seems glued to I may have yelled his girlfriend was on the phone unnecessarily loudly, especially as he was right next to me at the time, but that doesn't mean he should ban me from all use.

I scrolled through the angry guy's phone looking for the bloke, I assume it's a bloke, he'd instructed me to look for. I finally found it and hit the button to dial the number. A bright sounding voice said something on the other end when it was picked up.

"Hey, speak English." I demanded immediately as I didn't quite get what the guy had said. I mean I had heard it before as Kit insists on talking in Japanese to his girl, but I'm not so fluent myself. I am learning though.

"I'm sorry, but this is my boss's number, I thought it was him, and you are…?" He said with a weird accent.

"I was told to call you. I'm Zach." I answered.

"Did Big Boss ask you?" He questioned.

"Who? I don't know, he's an angry looking guy, looks like he sucks lemons for a living." The guy on the phone snorted.

"Yep, that sounds like him. What did he want you to ask?" I looked at the sheet of paper I held.

"Have you anything to report?" I asked in a monotone voice as the question was soo boring.

"Nope. We would have done so if we did." This Yasuhara guy answered. 'Well, I guess the rest of these questions are a bit useless then.' Kit, his girlfriend and the giggly lady were all staring at me. I could tell the angry guy was also paying attention, but as usual he was trying to pretend he wasn't. I decided to have some fun as I was bored and it wasn't like I was paying for the phone call.

"Soo, have you got a girlfriend?" I asked.

"Uh…well…no…" The guy stuttered. He obviously wasn't expecting me to ask.

"You want one?" I questioned.

"Um…er…why?"

"I have this sister…" I started.

"ZACH!" Kit and his girl yelled at me. I ignored them.

"I see." The guy said carefully.

"Yeah. She's a pain in my ass and I wondered if you wanted her?"

"I…um…well, how old is this sister of yours?" Kit and his girlfriend's looks were getting darker and Kit looked like he wanted to grab the phone off me. Louise and a few others walked in at that moment and looked at Kit confusedly.

"She's fourteen." I answered. Louise started to look at me suspiciously.

"Ah, I'm afraid she's too young for me." The guy said with relief in his voice. 'Damn and I thought he was going along with it!'

"Oh well, it was worth a try." I sighed. Kit let out a growl and stormed towards me.

"Gotta go, bye!" I said hurriedly as I stopped the call and ran out of the room, Kit chasing after me.

"ZACHARY DAIKI PHILLIPS, GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE!" He yelled after me.

Naru's POV

The call went better than I expected. Okay, he ignored the questions I'd written out for him, but I think that altogether the call was successful.

Gene had raced off after Zach after the kid had tried to sell his sister to Yasuhara. I guess he doesn't remember when he used to do stupid things like that when he was his age. He was always trying to get the museum to buy me as I was apparently better than a statue.

I turned to the others and cleared my throat. Some of them still looked a bit confused at what had just happened. Louise, Madoka and Magnolia sat on one of the sofas and I noticed Magnolia wince a little as she did so. John and Ayako sat on the other sofa and Mai joined them. Everyone's attention was on me.

"I think we should get back on topic with the case." I announced. "We so far haven't had much success with our information regarding the haunting. We only have the barest minimum of information on the victims and possible suspects that may be related to the case. I propose gathering more research so we may be more able to come up with some answers to this case. Madoka, I would like you and Louise to try and find out more information and also take John with you."

"Um…Sir?" Louise piped up. "I'm not sure…"

"I will of course clear my decision with your brother as I know he's in charge of you for the day, but I think you would make an excellent research assistant." I declared. Louise nodded and Magnolia smiled at her. "The rest of us will continue monitoring for any activity in the meantime and Mai?"

"Yeah, I know, I know, tea right?" She mumbled.

"I was actually going to suggest trying to sleep and have a vision but tea first would be good." I replied. She scowled at me. "Please?" I added. Her expression lightened a little and she turned to go to the kitchen.

Gene entered at that moment with Zach slung over his shoulder. Miss Gray frowned at him. He set the boy down in front of Louise before turning to his girlfriend and shrugging apologetically for his treatment of the ten year old. Zach tried to make a run for it but was quickly grabbed by the back of his t-shirt by Gene and swivelled to face his sister again.

"Go on." He insisted.

"Sorry Louise. There. Happy?" He sulked. Gene sighed and nodded.

"Um…Kit? Can I…I was wondering if I could go do research with Madoka and John for the case?" Louise asked.

"Sure, as long as the boss doesn't have a problem with it." He said glancing at me.

"It was my suggestion in the first place so no; I don't have a problem with it." I responded.

"Thanks!" She squealed as she hugged her older brother figure before turning to me. "I won't let you down Sir." I was afraid she was going to hug me too but she didn't she opted for a respectful bow.

The trio exited the base just before Mai, who seemed to have left in all the confusion with Zach and Gene, entered with a nice steaming cup of tea. I gave it a sip. 'Ah, heaven!'
