After Ever After: Chapter 8: The Lines Of Reality And Fantasy Pt. 2
Benny continued to scream as shadows continued to swirl around him. Evelyn's eyes widened as Jackie frowned.
"What's happening to him?" Erica flashed her fangs at the Jane clone. "None of your business. We know what's happening, so we don't need your opinion imposter." She sneered. Jackie rolled her eyes as Erica leaned in worryingly towards Evelyn. "What's happening?" She whispered. Jackie scoffed as Evelyn sighed.
"That shadow scar is attracting all those dark entities and sending them in and out of him. Soon, if enough go in, he could die. I am bringing him inside." She said. She then turned to everyone as she braved a smile.
"In the meanwhile, you all have to fight back against Stephanie. It is important. I can try and conjure up some potions, but no promises that they'll work. Or have a huge effect. You will just have to fight off while Flynn and Jackie help me with fixing this Shadow mark once and for all. Good luck. You guys will do fine." She promised, shoving Jackie inside as she dragged Benny inside.
Ethan, Erica, Sarah and Rory were on their own. Alone in this huge battle.
"What are we gonna do? We are outnumbered-"
"NOT SO FAST!"
The gang paused, and in unison, slowly looked up. They gasped as another dark thundercloud rolled up to match Stephanie.
"What...the...hell?" Rory murmured. The masked figure had a black mask and eyes that gleamed a bright iris. Blonde hair dangled out from her head as a ponytail and the girl laughed manically. Everyone watched in fear as people around Whitechapel screamed and scattered against the city.
"Hello Mother!" She yelled. "Missed me?" The masked girl screamed. Stephanie roared in fury as she blasted a thunderbolt at her "daughter". But the masked figure was too smart and she dodged it, setting a blazing fire to a building.
The two continued to duel it out in the sky as Sarah gulped. "Guys, this can so happen now. We can start to destroy these shadow creatures while they're fighting." Rory gulped. "That hair...I swore I saw it before..." He mumbled as Erica sighed. "How are we supposed to defeat the shadows without a magic source from Benny, or any weapons? Plus, we have no knowledge whatsoever about defeating these things!" She protested. Rory pulled out the dagger absentmindedly out of his pocket and threw his hands up in the air.
"I don't know!" He shot back. The dagger was facing a shadow that was about to kill him, but he unknowingly stabbed it when he threw his hands in the air. The shadow roared as it dissolved to ashes. Sarah took the time to see a girl wearing real pointy heels, and her mind was drawn back to the time they were all fighting in the forest with Stephanie in the fairytale realm. She smiled.
"I have an idea. Remember the forest?" Ethan saw the message as his eyes were drawn to the local theater. They were showing some medieval show, but it was perfect in the time being.
"I got it. Let's split up so we can cover ground. Me and Sarah will stay in town, you and Erica go to the local harbor. Pretty sure shadows are around there. You both are vampires, so you can cover a lot of ground." Erica frowned. "Why go so close to the harbor?" Suddenly, a guy almost spilled a glass of water while trying to run. She yelped, remembering what happens if she makes contact with water. Ethan smirked as Erica nodded.
"Got it." And with that, her and Rory sped off, Rory taking the dagger with them. Ethan and Sarah exchanged looks as they nodded in unison, speeding off to find what they need. Sarah ran to the lady with the heels while taking off her sneakers. She smiled wearily.
"Can we make a trade? Running shoes for those heels? You'll...run faster." She reasoned. The women frowned. "Will I ever get them back?" She asked. Sarah looked at her in disappointment. "Do you wanna die?" She asked back. The women took the sneakers and unbuckled her pointy heeled heels and gave them to Sarah. She grinned in thanks as she began to run when...
"Not so fast, dearie"
She came face to face with Hannah Price. A shadow gleamed in her eyes as she threateningly pushed Sarah back slowly with her pointy edged staff. Hannah laughed coldly as Sarah swallowed nervously.
"Time to finally escape, hunter." She sneered. She pressed the staff to Sarah's heart and was about to emit the shadows when Sarah slid down quickly and crawled behind Hannah. She squealed in fury as Sarah smirked. "Ha." She said as Hannah roared, eyes furiously glowing black.
"You'll pay for that with death." She threatened, swinging her staff at Sarah. Remembering when she watched Ethan play Mortal Combat, she effortlessly swung low and punched Hannah's leg. She growled in pain as she used her staff to stab Sarah. Sarah luckily rolled under it before she could get hurt and rolled past Hannah. She growled in tiresome as she regained fighting stance, grasping onto the heels she held. Hannah roared as she ran straight towards Sarah, staff pointed at Sarah's chest. Sarah was pressed against the fence, so she flipped over it and was able to jump onto a table. Hannah growled.
"You are an athletic little vamp, huh? Perfect for my team." Sarah saw a bar, hanging from the drapes that covered the outside tables. She smiled as Hannah jabbed at her, and at the exact moment, Sarah swung on the bar and swung straight off, landing on her feet. Hannah grinned evilly. "Feeble cat, huh? Landing on your feet? Your nine lives are over." She said. Sarah smirked as she used the heel and hooked it onto the staff, successfully managing to grab it. Hannah yelped as Sarah kicked her back and threatened her with the staff. She smiled.
"So long, Snow Queen."
She snapped the staff in half with ease as Hannah roared, a shadow escaping her heart as she collapsed. Sarah yelped as he saw a jar on the table. Sarah took it and captured the shadow, screwing the cap on as she smiled. Score.
She threw it in her bag as she grabbed the heels and ran to try and help Ethan.
Erica and Rory arrived at the harbor, where children and adults were screaming their butts off. Rory frowned as shadows rained down from the skies. Dark soldiers and many shadow witches chased everyone as Erica frowned, looking at the grownups and children in the sea. They were all fighting for their sighed as she kicked off her flip flops and looked at Rory.
"Rory, I trust you to this job. Please, please, please don't screw up. I will be out there, saving people. You fly and get them. Destroy any shadow that stands in your way. Catch you on the flip side." She said flatly, and before Rory could protest, she ran into the sea. A surge of energy flowed in Erica as she forced herself under the currents.
Rory stared at Erica wide eyed as she dipped herself into the ocean. He panicked, hoping she was not drowning. But when her sea of blonde hair rose once more, Rory could not have been more astonished.
She had a slick and awesome, orange tail.
Erica helped millions of children and grownups out of the sea and kept them from drowning. Rory flew into the air as he carried people to the safety of the shore.
When everyone was out, Rory frowned at Erica, who was still in the water.
"How are you going to become human?" He asked Erica. Erica sighed. "I'm not. Not until Benny comes back. So cover for me, will ya?" Rory gulped as he saw millions of shadows approach them. He shivered slightly as he looked down at Erica the mermaid.
"Easier said than done..." He prompted nervously.
Jane was desperately hoping her plan had worked. Everything can go to plan if she succeeded in this one field.
Romance.
And flirting.
Gaston was watching her with hawk eyes as she sighed, getting up to look at him square in the eye.
"Can I at least go pee?" She asked. Gaston laughed. "Oh my belle..." He joked. "Stephanie ordered me not to release you. But it is okay. I won't look...much." Jane grit her teeth as she pasted a feeble smile.
"C'mon...we can share a shower. Come a little closer babe..." She said seductively. Gaston whistled as he pressed himself against the steel bars. "Sounds promising. Whatcha gonna do to me?" He asked flirtatiously. Jane smirked.
"This." She scoffed, saying a spell and Gaston landed on the ground, unconscious. Jane knelt down to his level and grabbed the metal key out of his hand and freed herself. She smirked at the fool as she walked out quickly.
Time to put her plan into action.
Mark Twain style.
A/N- Sorry for such a short chapter, but I have more to come in the next chapter. Promise.
So what is this plan Jane has? What does Mark Twain have anything to do? If you read classics, think of some folktales that have to do with princes.
What is to come? You will find out, next week! Or hopefully, Saturday or Friday, latest Sunday.
Drop a review and thanks for reading!
