Rainbow Dash was frantic when Applejack was whisked away.

"Rainbow, don't worry, I'll go see what's going on." Fluttershy whispered soothing, and went to leave the room but Twilight's hoof stopped her.

"Fluttershy, I think it'd be best if you just stay here with Rainbow Dash. What with you way with animals, and all. Plus, you've certainly must have helped other animals give birth by now, while I have only read on the subject! You can read all you want on a subject but it doesn't even come a little close to the experience of first hoof…" Twilight was reminiscing too hard to see that Fluttershy was shaking her head, let alone hear her speak.

"I'm sorry Twilight, but I have never ever been around for any animal's birth. They always ask me to come by later or I just miss it completely. Animals' births are as private as the mating itself." Fluttershy blushed at even the mention of it. "Besides, I really, really do want to go; I'm not good around ponies yelling or hearing pain." Just to prove her point, Rainbow Dash let out a particularly loud cry of pain to which Fluttershy gasped and cringed into Twilight's side, drawing Twilight out of her remembrance fog.

"What? Oh never mind, like I said, you'll do great!" With that, Twilight patted her friend's shoulder and went investigating Applejack's state and whereabouts.

"Twilight, don't-!" But Twilight was already gone "go." Rainbow cried out again then Fluttershy turned. "Um, Pinkie Pie, I'm going to, going to," Then an idea struck her. "Going to get Rarity! I mean, she'd want to be here for this, you know? And Spike could use some help with Clarity. And you seem to help everything under control here, so yeah, see you soon!"

"Did you say something, Flutters-?" But ask Pinkie turned Fluttershy gave her a quick kiss on the mouth then cantered away to Rarity's. "No, wait don't leave me alone!" But, like Twilight, Fluttershy was already gone. "Great." Pinkie muttered then went back to making sure the mane wasn't in Rainbow's sweaty face.

"Where. Is. Applejack?" Rainbow grunted again.

"I don't know, Dashie. I wish I did though." Pinkie Pie mumbled and held her hoove as another contraction befell her.

"Scalpel." The doctor ordered a nurse as Applejack laid on an operating table.

"Scalpel." The nurse confirmed, giving the tool over to the doctor.

"I'm about to make the incision." The doctor informed those on the team that was huddled around the table with an unconscious Applejack lying on top of it. A tall pony in training scrubs with a teal horse hairs sticking out the top of an askew scrub due rag.

"Sorry I'm late, what did I miss?" Snails whispered to a much shorter, stouter pony in the same training scrubs standing towards the outer edge of the circle.

"It's Applejack, one of the babies inside her stopped breathing while she was going through labor and we are performing a C-section to remove them both. She also fainted so she was weakened to begin with and this surgery was inevitable." Snips explained as the doctor made a clean, smooth cut down Applejack's exposed belly.

"'Applejack', 'weakened'? Those words don't belong in the same sentence, Snips." Snails noted with indigeneity as the doctor spilt through another layer of Applejack's muscle.

"I'm only speaking the truth, Snails. Don't shoot the messenger!" Snips shot back causing the group of health care professionals to look at the arguing friends.

"Excuse me, colts, but some ponies are performing a C-section surgery over here. And if you wanna be doctors want to help, then you will keep your voices down and if not, I'm going to have to ask you both to leave." The doctor with a scalpel scolded before returning to his patient without another word or thought on the matter. Snips and Snails looked shocked, blushed then shut their mouths as the crowd returned their gazes towards the table. No pony noticed another mare with hidden wings and a horn join the group towards the foot of the table.

The doctor continued cutting until he reached his destination. But Twilight didn't want to look at the process so she just stared at Applejack's exposed feet. But shortly after…

"WAAHH WAH WAHH!" A newborn cried out suddenly. Twilight glanced up to see a slimy coated, bright orange colt wringing around. He had a dark green mane that reminded Twilight of the dark color only Christmas trees possess. The moment he cried his first cry, Applejack opened her eyes and was greeted by a nurse holding her uncleansed baby boy in her arms out to Applejack.

"Here is your new son, Miss Applejack." The nurse told her softly before taking him away to be cleaned, weighed, measured etc.

"Here comes the girl." The doctor informed the room at large as he pulled out another slime covered creature. This one had a double colored mane of leave green and dark orange, with a body of crisp, apple skin red.

But this tiny filly did not cry out as her brother did and soon, nurses were huddled all around her trying to find ways to make her cry out and breathe. Twilight hurried forwards and demanded to see the little filly. They gave her to Twilight with little question. Twilight then lit her horn and an aurora of purple colored magic surrounded the tiny body. All were quiet as the concealed princess worked her magic in a new way than she had never attempted before. Then, slowly but surely, the filly opened her eyes and then coughed up an odd colored liquid before starting her wail.

"WWAAHHH!" She cried out to her mothers. Applejack physically relaxed as her now screaming baby is taken away to be put into another little bed like her brother now rested in.

"Thank you, you've done a wonderful thing for Miss Applejack and that little girl." The doctor congratulated Twilight.

"Just doing my job." Twilight muttered, blushing as the room erupted in applause.

"Twilight." Applejack called weakly. She didn't need any disguise to know it was one of her best friends.

"Yes, AJ?" Twilight asked, coming to her friend's side in an instant.

"How's Rainbow Dash?" She asked urgently.

"I don't know, I was with you making sure that you were okay." Twilight admitted.

"Please find out." Applejack urged before she was taken to another room.

"I will!" Twilight promised before whizzing off to Rainbow's room. But when she got there, it was empty.
