A/N: The on-and-off review thing is slightly bothering me.

Once again, trying to ignore it and continue the story. I'm honestly not seeing what I'm doing doing wrong. I think it may be that the title and summary are a bit dull, because I'm not very good at writing either of those. (More title than summary, Meh.)

Yeah, Change of Fate could have had a better name. Maybe I should change it, but I'll tell you guys when I'm going to, just in case it gets confusing. Not that it will, of course.

Ravel

You are following the right path...

Huh? Who said that? Jeremiah?

If only you knew. Poor little fool.

Er... Excuse me...? Wait a minute? Where the hell am I?

I observe the room. Darkness.

You are the beginning of the end.

The dark room lights up, a storm of black fire swarming up in columns into my direction.

Gah, WHAT?! SHIT! RUN! I rush away from the growing pillars, my own footsteps echoing across the halls of nonexistence.

I run. For minutes? Hours? Days? Years?

I feel nothing. Not even my temporary fear continues.

The pillars slowly begin to crawl around me, until I see a dark figure in the distance. I rush toward it, my mind seemingly being my only guide.

The figure gets larger, and despite my mind processing it's looks, I still feel nothing toward it. No relief, fear, sympathy, or anything.

The figure is just in my reach by the time the pillars of fire have gathered around me. My eyes widen in hollow panic, the flames slowly starting to close in around us.

The figure turns toward me, clouded by the black flames that threaten to consume me. "You have been lied to." What?

The man is grabbed by the flames and dragged into the wall. And all at once, the fire goes to a standstill. For what feels like minutes, the flames don't even so much as spark.

Then it all awakens. At once the flames resume their movement and gather right in front of me. They form into a sphere of darkness, soon shaping into a larger figure that towers hundreds of feet above me.

"You have been warned." The figure points at me, then lifts it's foot and holds it above me.

At once, the figure slams it's foot into me, sending a blinding light into my vision.

"Ravel, wake up!" Guh... Wha..? GAH WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!

Oh gods... Oh gods... It was just a dream.

Huh? Where am I again?

... I'm a moron for forgetting.

"Ravel, we have to go marching soon." Right... Right... We decided to go with the Shepherds back to Ylisstol so that we can announce that the war is over... and the fact that Chrom and Sumia are engaged. And another weird thing: Robin and Lissa weren't actually together... yet... I hope. Maybe they're going to get together later, I dunno.

Oh, and I bunked with Stahl. The dude's awesome in person.

"I'm making pie." WHATPIEWHERE?!

... "Dammit Stahl. I thought there was pie."

I hop out of my bedroll and grab some my new thief cloak.

You heard me right: No more old myrmidon cloak when I fight like a thief. I guess it would have caused people to overestimate me, not that it would matter too much.

Stahl is already dressed in his green cavalier armor, I dunno why. It's not like we're going to end up in a conflict.

... Better safe than sorry, I guess. I'm the tactician, I'm supposed to be careful. Hell, I was a careful person before coming here. Damn soul merging.

"Frederick said we're due to start marching in about ten minutes. We have to get the tent put down and our belongings put in the convoy before then."

... DAAAAAAAAAMMMNNN ITTTTTT-!

"Finally done, and we still have ten seconds to spare." I give a light laugh. Most of the other Shepherds have already started walking, while some of them (the fliers) have started scouting the area ahead in case of either bandits that don't know of the war's end, or Risen. More of the latter, as the news has spread rather quickly.

I need to find Geoff. I think that he was sharing a tent with Ricken, or was it Donnel? Come to think of it, it could have been Gregor. I heard those two having a conversation about past mercenary jobs. I can't say I know if most of them are made up, as I have not a clue how long he was in the group with Gorge and Niro.

Ah, I think that's him.

"Hey Geoff, tough battle the other day, right?" I ask him. He rolls his eyes at me.

"Yeah, except for the part where I was awesome. I'll admit that getting an arrow in the shoulder wasn't the highlight of my day, but I've had worse happen. Like there was this one time where I feel in this pile of-"

NO! I slap him before he finishes, mainly because of the lulz and the fact that I really don't want to hear that story.

He just shakes it off, before throwing a few swears at me and going off probably to get Epona.

Yaawwnn... Let the walking begin.

Niro

"Niro, cover the area beside the river!" Got it, Cordy.

I steer Rysor to the left and send him flying by the appropriately named Dragon's Breath River. The funny coincidences in this world.

I scan the surface for any signs of campsites or the glint of metal. There is the slight chance that they're in the shadows, but I prefer not to think about that. It's not like there's too much shade in this area anyway.

I continue to scan the ground, before hearing an alert growl from Rysor. ...?

I look back at the wyvern, planting my hand on his head while maintaining my grip on saddle. "What's wrong, buddy?"

In response, he swoops down toward the river's edge, scanning the ground for something. Sure enough, I see a silver horse rushing down the riverside. I bury my face into the palm of my hand.

"Rysor, I'll feed you when we get back. Just don't eat the damn horse, it probably belongs to some...bo...dy..." The horse stops in it's tracks, as does Rysor. The horse is sitting above something. I can't tell what it is though. Rysor quickly swoops down onto the ground, next to the horse and the crumpled figure.

I examine the figure. It... I think it's a girl... is wearing some cloth that I think used to be expensive, but appears to have been ripped by the river's current. She has bright silver hair, some sort of hairpiece tangled in it as well. Based on the horse, I'd have to guess that she's either a Troubadour or a Valryke. I get down on my knees and grab her hand. I feel a pulse. She's still alive, but not for long. I'm gonna need to get her to Lissa or Ayla or one of the other healers.

I pick up the girl and saddle her to Rysor. "Get her back to camp, okay? I'll try and follow you back." my wyvern nods in response before immediately taking flight and heading a bit east. I'm near positive that's where the others are.

"So, would you mind me riding you back to my friends?" I look over to the horse and touch it's mane. It gives a light neigh and nudges me with it's head. "I'll take that as a yes." With that, I hop onto the horse and head in Rysor's direction.

Ravel

I stare at the ground, thinking. What was that dream? Was it one of those creepy foreshadowing dreams that tells the future? Was it just my imagination being trippy? Jeremiah, what was that?

...

Of course. he never seems to be around when I need him to. But... what did that... thing.. mean? You have been lied to? Does he mean Jeremiah? Sygil? One of my friends? Sigh... I guess time will tell.

"Coming through!" Niro immediately cuts through, riding on.. a horse..? I'm not even going to ask.

Eh, I'm not gonna ask, but I'm still gonna follow.

I start into a steady pace toward the horse, walking past Maribelle and Ricken talking... squeeeee... Sorry.

Where the hell is he- Oof!

"Gah, dammit!" I yell. Sure enough, there's an armored hand right in front of my face. I grab it and am pulled onto my feet. "Sorry, Kellam." I mutter.

"It's fine." he nods and goes back into his invisibility. I have no idea how that's supposed to work. I break into a faster pace, which turns into a full-on run.

There he is. Talking to Lissa. Hold on a second... Why is there someone unconscious on Rysor. Did Gregor drink too much... again?

No, it's a girl. And she isn't in good condition.

"Hey, what's going on?" I ask Lissa.

Not turning, she responds. "Niro found this girl out in the forest, I'm going to try and heal her, but staves won't do too good when someone is possibly drowning." Yeah, I think I get that.

"Gods, how did she even get here?" Niro shakes his head and Rysor immediately nuzzles his head against him. Gods, those two are close.

I'm not focusing on the situation at hand.

"Help! Risen are attacking!" OH GAWDS DAMMIT!

Situations.

Lissa and Niro both start to panic. "Don't worry, I'll fight them, you stay here." Not that they wouldn't have, of course.

But ouch, my first Risen encounter...

Time to rise up the ranks of the Risen slayers!

... Did I really just say that? Think that, even? Sigh, this is going to be a long day.

A/N: Yeah, I was going to make this chapter a bit longer, but decided against it. Yeah, some Risen battles and a bit of character development next chapter. Wait, last time I promised that, I ended up introducing three new characters.

Don't worry, I'm not introducing any more characters for a while after this chapter. (Save for the one that just appeared in this chapter.)

And I was purposely trying to keep myself from POV switching. While it allow me to sort of refresh during the writing, it sort of seems to ruin the point of a self...insert. Eh, you guys probably disagree with me, and to be honest, I sort of disagree with myself as well.

Meh. Expect more soon.
