Whoever said titans are not something to be afraid of was saying complete and utter bullshit.

That was a well-known fact among those in the military fighting against those monsters.

What could be worse than human looking monster? What could be worse than something that could look so normal, had it not been fifteen meters tall and, well, naked?

Sasha was a pretty optimist person.

But in front of a titan, that trait sometimes disappeared.

She turned into the soldier she was trained to become. She looked for an escape; she looked for a way out of the mess. She could think out of the box, which made her be one step ahead. She looked for a weapon; she searched for a way to take down any threat.

But that did not mean she didn't get scared.

She got terrified sometimes, when they'd be too close and she would be frozen in her place, those big eyes looking at her and the smell and the heat and everything was too much.

But then a voice would slip into her mind.

She'd hear him whispering I love you in her ear, too low for anyone else to hear. She'd feel his hand on hers, just a passing touch in a crowed place. She'd hear his chuckles, low and deep and she'd feel him with her and then she'd come back.

She would see their friends, their faces and their voices and she'd know she had to come back.

This time, she can feel his back against her when he'd give her piggy back rides. She can feel his smirk in their kiss, his breath as he whispers close to her mouth, his laugh in the air and she closes her eyes.

She can feel his hands on her hips, the way his hair felt under her fingers, she can hear her name being whispered by him. And oh, she can hear laughs shared over dinner and jokes only they would understand. And she can see many faces, many smiles.

She knows how to look for a way out and she knows how to make anything her weapon, and she knows when there are no exits and when she is weaponless.

She can feel him screaming her name, and this time and only then, she is not as afraid of the titan as she is afraid that the voice is not in her mind.

And then it's too late.
